The smell of Death

Chapter 8
The Smell of Death

Warning: Lemon with in chapter

Kyo looked back out the window. He had felt sick since he and the others had gotten back, as though the worst was still yet to come. There was something not even his friends, not even his sister knew.

Kyo stood up and left the room. “Hey Kyo,” Kate called, “what’s wrong?” Kyo only grunted in response.

Kyo, at seventeen, was the oldest out of the new generation. The others were only fifteen or sixteen, respectively. They all had one thing in common: they were all from 19 years in the future.

Kyo growled as he thought that his mother and father’s love was going to be put to the test as they lost a child. A baby that came before Kyo. As much as this was going hurt, he couldn’t do a thing. The next generation couldn’t change time. If they didn’t lose the baby, his parents wouldn’t get closer. He sighed as he walked down the hall.

***Hiei and Rachel***
***Lemon starts now***

Hiei wrapped his arms around Rachel’s waist, and she kissed him gently. Rachel wondered if the great swordsmen knew anything about love making, or if he just knew the word. She laughed to herself. She may be on her own to show him how it was done.

Rachel slid her tongue into Hiei’s mouth, and a battle of tongues ensued. The two blindly found the bed in the back of the cave. Hiei’s hands slid down to Rachel’s tight black mini skirt, and Rachel pulled back from the kiss.

“Hiei, have you ever done anything like this?” she asked. Hiei shifted, looking away. She giggled. “So I’m your first. I guess it was true that fighting came first,” she said.

He grunted as he looked at her.

“Okay, okay, I’ll stop. Lighten up, will ya? If you don’t relax, then you’re not going to enjoy it.” Rachel smiled and kissing Hiei again.

Rachel let her mini skirt fall. Hiei’s hands ran down her legs, teasing the soft skin. Rachel was now tugging at the stiff black belts that held up his baggy pants. Hiei continued kissing her as she pulled off one of his three belts and worked on the other two.

“Hiei, why so many damn belts?” Rachel asked.

“For stability,” Hiei grunted. “I need them to hold my sword in place.”

Rachel smiled. “Well they’re good for fighting. But I want them off.”

Hiei smirked.

Moving forward with all the grace of a cat, Hiei returned to kissing Rachel and she fumbled to remove his belts. Hiei removed his mouth from hers for a mere moment, allowing her to discard his shirt-in a fast movement, he had already taken her shirt and was staring at the bra underneath. Rachel looked at him.

“Never seen a bra before?” she asked.

For once, Hiei looked innocent as he glanced up at Rachel. “Bra…” he mumbled. Rachel giggled.

“It’s something girls wear to keep our breasts from…bouncing around,” Rachel said, blushing as she told him. Hiei nodded.

“How the hell do you get it off?” Hiei mumbled, annoyed. Rachel reached back and unhooked it, letting it slid off. Hiei stared at Rachel. He cupped her breast, caressing the nipple and smiling as it hardened, eliciting a small moan from Rachel. He gave the same treatment to her other breast, his smile widening.

Rachel finally undid Hiei’s last belt and let his pants fall down. The only thing she could think was: “God didn’t skimp on size.”

Rachel giggled slightly as Hiei ran his finger down her stomach. He pulled her underwear off and looked her body over.

Hiei seem to be thinking of something. “I’ll be right back,” he said, walking in the direction of the kitchen. He opened the fridge and shuffled through it for something, returning with two pieces of cake.

Hiei had a smirk on his face as he hand Rachel one of the pieces. Hiei sat down on the bed, near Rachel. She ate her piece while Hiei simply watched, not touching his. She finished her cake and laid back, slightly suspicious.

Hiei wolfed down his cake then, letting the icing linger on the sides and the roof of his mouth. He moved forward and smiled devilishly, licking Rachel from her navel up to her breasts and leaving trails of frosting along the way. He traced his way back down her body, lapping up the frothy pink stuff as he went. Rachel twitched with arousal under his rough ministrations.

She should have know. Hiei and his sweet food. Hiei move back up to her mouth, kissing her again. He came to rest atop her body, his crotch rubbing hers. He may never have done this before, but his demon mind knew. He began to kiss her neck.

Then he kissed the same place spot gently, and bit into the soft skin as he slid into Rachel without much warning. Rachel let out a small cry of pain as he settled within her.

“Shhh,” he whispered as he licked the blood off of her neck.

Rachel whimpered slightly when Hiei did not withdraw from her, but covered her mouth with his.

“Shhh, Love, I know it hurts,” he whispered soothingly. He nipped at the mark on her neck again, making sure that it would not fade. He kissed her again and pulled out of her a little bit. Rachel felt a little better.

“You’re mine for eternity,” he claimed. Rachel reached up and kissed him again. The two started to move together.

“Hiei…do I mark you?” Rachel panted. Hiei nodded as he moved to so Rachel could reach his throat.

“Hiei, I love you,” Rachel said breathily.

Hiei grunted something that sound like “I love you too.”

***End of Lemon***

A few days later, Hiei and Rachel appeared back at the temple.

“Well, well, the love birds have returned,” Yusuke laughed. Hiei growled.

Hiei looked around to find Seth watching TV with Meggie. “I see the fox is doing better,” Hiei said as he sat on the window ledge. Rachel had gone to find the other girls.

“After who knows how many showers and sulking in the corner. Yeah, he’s doing better,” Yusuke said as he looked over his cards. Seth looked over with a dull expression.

“Right, like you would react any different. I’ll have nightmares for the rest of my life,” Seth groaned, lying back on Meggie’s lap.

Kurama looked over. “Well we know Meggie and Kyo were able to wound her pretty severely,” he said.

“Yeah, but what’s the point when you don’t know where the hell she is?” Yusuke retorted.

“We’ll get her,” Lazan said. The guys nodded.

***Two Months Later***

“Wow!” Botan giggled. “I still can’t believe Hiei’s got a little one on the way.”

Rachel blushed.

“It’s a surprise to us all,” she said, smiling. She was wearing a summer dress, her belly just now starting to show.

“So this one must be Kyo, then,” Jackie said as she looked at her new friends. Rachel nodded.

“I think so, unless he’s got an older brother or sister.”

Kyo came into the room just in time to hear his “mother” speak.

“Older brother,” Kyo said with a small blush.

Rachel smiled. “Awww, then I’m going to have two chibi Hiei running around!” she said lightly.

The guys and future kids headed to demon world to search for Lyra, being that she hadn’t returned for another attack. Left at the temple were Keiko, Rachel, Botan, Yukina, and Jackie. Genkai had gone out to look for something that may help the gang out.

Lyra grinned. Her plan had gone as she though it would. Lyra turned to her newest man. One she was able to bring back from the dead after finding his remains on the dark tournament grounds.

“The only one who will put up a real fight is the lighting bitch,” Lyra said.

“She’s Kurama mate,” the other said quietly, in servitude. Lyra nodded.

“Well, I see why he chose her. She is such a pretty little wolf.”

“I like her,” the fighter said. “And, you know…when I like something…”

“You like to take it away,” Lyra said with a smirk. (If you don’t know who this is, then you’ve never seen the dark tournament).

She laughed. “Okay, let’s go,” she said as they headed toward temple. The other soon followed her.

***

The girls sat on the deck of the temple. “I never though of Hiei being the first one to have a baby,” Botan said. The others laughed. Rachel set her hand on her stomach.

“Awww! I can’t wait for all the babies to be born,” Yukina said sweetly.

Keiko nodded. “I would prefer to have my wedding first. I don’t care if Yusuke is demon or what,” she said, and the others laughed again.

Jackie looked up and then stood. The girls followed her gaze to Lyra and someone else standing some ways away.

Botan’s eyes went wide. “It’s Karasu! But he’s dead…how…?” she gasped.

Jackie moved forward. “I wouldn’t move, little wolf,” Karasu said. Jackie growled, not listening.

“Wait, Jackie-he has the power to create bombs. If you look close enough, you’ll see them in his hand!” Botan yelled. Jackie froze. She could see the bombs now. She looked back. At the least her friends didn’t have any surrounding them. Jackie looked forward again to find Karasu gone.

“You have Kurama’s scent all over you. You made love to him before he left,” Karasu whispered as he ran his hands though her hair. “At least you take care of your hair.”

He smirked as he felt Jackie freeze up. She turned to punch Karasu, but it was a bad move. One of the energy bombs went off. Jackie let out a scream as the bomb ripped at her shoulder.

Karasu grabbed Jackie, turning her to face him. “I told you not to move,” he said

‘I understand why the hell Kurama was scared of him now,’ Jackie thought. Jackie flinched as Karasu cupped her face and ran a thumb over her lips.

“These lips…kissed by Kurama,” Karasu whispered. The group stared in shock. They didn’t know what to do, or where the bombs were.

“I wonder if I could still taste him on these lips,” he purred as he kissed Jackie. Her eyes went wide as Karasu pulled away, his grin widening. “I wonder if I could taste his release if I were to lick somewhere…else.”

It was one thing to touch and kiss her. But to go on about her mate was unacceptable. Karasu pulled back further as he felt a spike in Jackie’s spirit energy. Within Jackie’s eyes was a storm.

“STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM MY MATE!” she screamed as her energy exploded from within her, blasting Karasu back into Lyra.

Lyra growled, pushing Karasu off her. Karasu grinned as he walked forward. “Too bad,” he said lightly. “I wanted to play with you longer.”

Jackie blinked. She stepped back, falling right into Karasu’s attack. One bomb went off every time Jackie moved. (Think of Kurama’s fight with Karasu, when he was surrounded.)

Jackie fell to her knees. “Okay, Karasu,” Lyra laughed as she walked forward. “I’ll finish her off.” She withdrew her sword, the blade shining. But as she raised the sword to kill Jackie, one person ran forward. The others couldn’t stop her.

The energy bombs didn’t stop her from going where she wanted. She stopped in front of Jackie. Jackie’s eyes went wide as Lyra ran her sword right through Rachel’s chest, killing her the minute the sword hit her heart.

Lyra pulled the sword back. “Oops. Next time I won’t miss.”

Jackie caught Rachel’s body. Tears started to fall when Jackie found no life within her. She closed Rachel’s eyes, praying for her and the baby. ‘Why did you do that, Rachel?’ Jackie thought miserably.

This time, when the sword came down, Jackie stopped it with one hand. Lyra, for once, felt fear as Jackie looked at her. It was a look of pure hatred and anger.

Wolf’s eyes replaced the human. Karasu picked up his master and disappeared. The left over bombs faded away.

The other girls ran over. Botan in the most tears. She hated taking her loved ones to Spirit World.

***A Couple of Hours Later***

Botan had yet to return.

Yusuke yawned. “Man, a long hot bath with my babe, and I’ll be good as new,” he slurred, grinning at his friends. All froze as the men reached the top of the steps. The stench of blood and death was in the air. Kyo was the last one to come up. He didn’t even look up.

The others rush inside, coming to the room where everyone was. A red eyed Keiko stood, running over to Yusuke.

Yukina looked up. She was out of energy from trying to heal Jackie, who was now asleep. Kurama went right to his mate’s side. His heart skipped a beat when he caught a scent on her. ‘Karasu,’ he thought.

Hiei stood outside the door. The blood was familiar, but he wasn’t thinking about that. He wondered why Rachel hadn’t greeted him. Hiei stepped into the room and froze. The blood, staining the floor and still leaking, presumably from the victim’s body, was Rachel’s.

His eyes went to where someone lay on the ground, covered with a sheet. Hiei’s breath caught in his throat.

“Before we knew what she was doing,” Yukina said wearily, “it was to late to stop her. She didn’t want her friends to die.”

Hiei didn’t look at his sister as he went to the sheet and pulled it back.

His mate, the only person he had ever opened up to, lay on the floor, the last of the fresh blood blotting her clothes. He stared at her pale skin and blue lips. Her body was caked with dry blood.

Jackie was awake again. Kurama held onto her. Rachel had given her life and unborn child to save Jackie… That was how much Rachel cared for her friends. Everyone’s eyes were tearing as they stared at the floor.

They all looked up again when they heard something small hit the ground. A black gem lay on the floor near Hiei’s feet. They looked to his face.

For once in his life, the mighty swordsman was crying. Hiei didn’t move or blink as the tears fell.

Hiei suddenly fell to his knees and pulled the body of his mate to him, holding her tightly. How could this be? They had child from the future. She couldn’t die.

NOTE: Ahh! *Hides under desk* I know, I’m mean. But from the sounds of it, this happened in the future timeline, too. Kyo knew this would happen. So is Rachel Kyo’s and Meggie’s mother, or is there someone else? Or is Rachel somehow going to come back from the dead, much like Yusuke did?
