Life Goes On

Scene 77 ------------------------------------------- Two Days Later

* Yusuke is coming out of the kitchen, sipping a hot cup of tea, when Kurama comes out of his den.


Kurama- Hey there, handsome.

Yusuke- Have a nice nap?


* Kurama swishes his tail as he stretches.


Kurama- Just.. wonderful.

Yusuke- I was just going out on the balcony to check Hiei.


* Kurama follows Yusuke out onto the balcony. He moves to sit on one of the chais loungers as Yusuke moves to check their sleeping mate. They've been bringing Hiei out here to lay on the portable futon so the sun can give him some warmth from time to time. When Yusuke is sure tthat Hiei is okay he touches his belly a moment, then goes over to lean on the wall. As the Toushin quietly sips his tea he notices the kids playing below in the large backyard. He tilts his head as he watches Raienma allow Yurama to inspect his tail. He glances toward the dozing kitsune.


Yusuke- 'Rama..?

Kurama- Hmm?

Yusuke- You said the other night that you were only ten seasons old when you first had sex..

Kurama- Correction, Love.. I said I haven't been innocent.. My first experience wasn't full out sex.

* The kitsune chuckles at the memory. Yusuke half turns to look toward him.


Kurama- We were playing in a stream..

Yusuke- We?

Kurama- My brothers, sisters, and I.


* Yusuke looks back toward his boys.


Kurama- We discovered that we loved having our tails stroked.

Yusuke- Your.. tails..


* Kurama now opens his eyes to look at Yusuke.


Kurama- You know how.. sensitive my tail is.

Yusuke- Uh, yeah.. But nothing.. serious.. came out of that.. Right?

Kurama- Well, not for me.. But two of my brothers became.. very close.. a couple days later..

* Yusuke nearly drops his tea as he looks back at Kurama and squawks.


Yusuke- Close?


* Kurama moves up to the wall beside Yusuke to look down at the kids. Yurama and Raienma are now sitting very close together talking as Yurama continues to stroke Raienma's tail. Yusuke watches Kurama, but he doesn't seem to show too much concern about their two oldest. The kitsune does, however, notice that their daughter has Jiro suspended from a tree branch upside down with a green vine.


Kurama- Rozie, you play nice, now!


* Rozeme waves over her shoulder in a most Yusuke-esque way, but just continues watching her struggling step-brother. Kurama relaxes and continues talking as they continue watching the kids.


Kurama- Yes, Yusuke.. My two brothers, Satoshi and Gojoteki became mates when they were old enough to choose to do so.


* Yusuke scowls a moment, then looks back down toward his sons.


Yusuke- Then I see why.. that.. wouldn't bother you.


* Kurama tilts his head at Yusuke.


Kurama- It bothers you, though?


* Yusuke takes a long sip of his tea, not sure if he wants to answer. Hiei, who'd woke up hearing their conversation, opens his eyes and starts to sit up. In a blink, Yusuke is beside him, helping him.


Yusuke- Morning, Sunshine.


* Hiei half looks up at Yusuke, showing his usual annoyance at the newest nickname.


Yusuke- Did we disturb you, Babe?


* Yusuke smiles slightly when Hiei leans against him, snuggling into the Toushin's embrace.


Hiei- Hn.. Annoying subject.. Another of your.. human hangups.


* Yusuke sighs, but doesn't respond. Kurama looks back toward the boys. Yurama and Raienma have now re-joined the others since Jiro has finally gotten free. Rozeme is checking a stopwatch.


Kurama- You can relax, Yusuke.. They're playing with the rest of the kids again.. Everything's back to normal.


* Yusuke still doesn't respond. He just closes his connection with both of his mates and continues holding Hiei. Kurama feels a bit guilty for his brash words when he feels the break and glances timidly at his Alpha.


Kurama- I didn't mean to..

Yusuke- Just drop it.


* Hiei starts to look up at Yusuke, but the Toushin places a hand on his head to prevent any comments from him, also.


Yusuke- You, too.. Let's just enjoy this pretty day.. quietly.. I'm not made of glass, ya know.


* Yusuke is the first, however, to break the heavy awkward silence that follows. He doesn't need the bond to see that both of his mates are still upset and anxious at themselves.


Yusuke- (Quietly) I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to snap..

Hiei- (Quietly) Yusuke,.. I have had..

Yusuke- With Ryuji. I know.


* Hiei closes his eyes.


Hiei- (Quietly) And.. Yukina..


* Both Yusuke and Kurama look at each other.


Hiei- (Quietly) B-before.. Koenma could.. get us away.. f-from..


* Too weak to stave off the affect of his 'condition' on his hormones, Hiei turns his face into Yusuke's chest to try to hide his shame. The Toushin re-connects with Hiei to offer some inner comfort as he embraces the small, frail koorime gently.


Hiei- (Mumbled) It's just.. the d---ed.. hormones..

Yusuke- (Quietly) I know, koi.. We know all about Yukina.. It's okay..


* Hiei finds himself once more struggling to stay awake and growls weakly at himself. Yusuke checks Hiei a little alarmed when the growl quiets rather abruptly and his head sinks limply. He quickly lays Hiei back down to check him almost frantically. Kurama comes over to help if he can as Yusuke lays his ear on Hiei's chest. When he realizes that Hiei had just slipped back into hibernation he relaxes, but hides his face against the koorime's shallowly moving chest, between his slightly puffy breasts. Kurama sighs and reaches over to rub Hiei's belly. Yusuke dries his eyes on Hiei's robe, then places one of his hands on Kurama's. They both soon feel the brief pulse of energy that comes from the baby within. Their eyes meet for several silent moments, then Kurama leans to lick the fresher tears that spill once more down Yusuke's cheeks.


Yusuke- (Quietly) He.. made me.. promise..

Kurama- (Quietly) I know, Love..


* Kurama pulls Yusuke back onto his lap and holds him as they watch Hiei continue sleeping.
