Quite In My Town

I'm back! I know, I know, it's been forever. I'm sorry! Anyways, it's a holiday miracle and I've finally finished chapter seven, and here it is.

On that note, I had one of my friend who's read bits and pieces of this questions in chapter five (WAY back when) how quickly the Xanax hit Hiei, and well, that's how it hits me. Literally, within a minute of taking it, I feel my legs start to go rubbery and the zombie cloud as I like to call it coming over me. And, as I've said, this is all based on my experience with drugs and basic knowledge. So, without further ado, I apologize a head of time for this chapter, but... It happened, and this is where it went....

.......................................................

Warnings: Flashbacks. Sex with a minor. Torture. Hospitals. Language. Mentions of drugs use. This is unbeta'd so all mistakes are my own.

Seven: Quiet in My Town

“This pretty little thing will do almost anything for a fix. He’s a perfect little hole to fuck, and he sucks like a whore.”

Hiei had been moved from the room he’d been held in to what seemed like an eternity to the living room. Or, what he could only assume was the living room of the house. There was a group of people gathered there. Hiei wasn’t entirely sure why. His skin was starting to itch, and his hands had been tied behind his back to stop him from tearing at his skin with already torn nails.

He wasn’t even entirely sure where he was, but Hiei knew this probably wasn’t good. He also knew that a hand fisting in the back of his hair was probably the only way he was going to get that fix that he desperately needed at this point. Someone’s erection was shoved forcefully into his mouth and he swallowed on instinct, the cock pressing into the back of his throat, making him choke, not that it stopped the man. The hand in his hair fisted tighter moments before a door burst open, light and people pouring into the house.

Hiei was dropped, and kicked at some point, but people were yelling and it sounded like guns going off. It was all very overwhelming and it got to be just too much. Someone was shaking him, talking, but Hiei couldn’t respond as his vision went black.

Something was beeping. Repetitive and over and over again. Hiei blinked slowly, squinting against the bright light in the room, and an overly white ceiling. It was clean and smelled like antiseptic. Hiei blinked again, trying to piece together what the hell was happening. He remembered a dark room and pain and cold, and he jerked when he realized there was a needle in his arm, and tape, though, the normal feeling of ice flowing through his veins was absent. His hand shot out, nails scrambling to get the needle out of his arm. The ever present need wasn’t there and he didn’t want it back.

“Hiei! Relax, please! You’re alright, you’re in the hospital. You can’t take the IV out yet.”

Hiei jerked again at Yukina’s voice, but his eyes settled on his sister. Worried red eyes met his and her hands were soft on his arm. He let out a slow breath, and then another, hearing his own heart beat slow down. He blinked, clearing his throat a little. “What happened?” He croaked, his voice feeling like sand paper scraping through his voice.

“Shh. Don’t talk. Here’s some water. Slowly,” She offered him a straw and he accepted, watching her curiously. “We’re at Skyridge Hospital. The FBI found you and Kurama and Yusuke and a couple of the other the missing teens at a house in the Heritage Hills. Some sort of… Auction,” Yukina shuddered a little, dropping her gaze from him. Her hand tightened a little on his arm. “You’re all safe now,” She stood rapidly. “I’m going to tell the doctor that you’re awake.”

It took a minute, and Hiei just nodded even though Yukina was no longer in the room. He breathed and talked to the doctors as they came through the room. There were many of them, and most of them just talked at him, telling him things he had no real hope of understanding. Essentially, he’d been in a medically induced coma, and his recovery was well on its way. He would be starting intense physical therapy and because he was a minor, they could require him to see an actual therapist to deal with potential PTSD. Then there were cops and interviews and statements he needed to give. One cop in particular had stayed, frowning at Hiei.

“Between you and the others we’ve spoken to, there were five men. Only four were caught at the house. Their ring leader, a man we believe to be named Sakyo, was not there when we raided the house. This isn’t the first sex ring he’s set up, and not the first time he’s disappeared, though he usually does so with the rest of his team.”

Hiei shuddered a little to think of his ‘team’. Bui and Karasu and the man who had continually come in and abused Yusuke, and a man he saw for the first time when he’d been dragged off to be sold as some sort of sex toy. Hiei frowned at the cop. “Does that mean you think he might be coming back? Coming after us for surviving?”

“Not at all. He’s a brute, but he’s intelligent. It’s very unlikely that he’s in the state or ever the country anymore. The Toguro brothers were gangsters. They have been on the FBI’s most wanted list for years,” A picture of two vaguely familiar men was placed on the tray between them that Hiei had been eating off of. The conversation had put him off his appetite. He just nodded slowly and the cop continued. “Karasu was a psychopath, a sexual sadist with charges across the United states as well as all over Europe,” Another picture, dark hair and violent eyes and Hiei could almost hear the maniacal laugh in the back of his mind.

“What a pretty little toy, even if you won’t react,” Karasu leaned over Kurama’s prone form, his fingers leaving dark bruises on pale skin. Kurama was still and unresponsive, green eyes glazed as he stared at the ceiling.

As if Karasu had been expecting something else, Karasu snarled at Kurama’s stillness and continued silence. He gripped Kurama’s hips, slamming mercilessly into the redhead’s body, jarring him and leaving rug burns over a bare back and shoulders.

Hiei snapped himself out of the memory, because the detective was still speaking to him. “Bui was hired muscle. A mercenary. He’s killed cops and political figures and a wide array of innocents. Sakyo was just his latest employer,” Hiei nodded a little listlessly as the last picture was placed in front of him.

Hiei’s body was being lifted and prodded into position, kneeling over Bui’s legs before he was dragged down on the man’s cock. He hadn’t really been prepared, but he’d been used so many times in the last who know how long, it didn’t really phase him.

“Ride me right and I’ll give you a fix,” He gripped Hiei’s chin, forcing Hiei to focus on his face. “I know you must be needing one by now.”

Hiei jerked a little as his hips were grabbed and forced down, his legs crushed under him. Bui lifted him again, before he allowed Hiei to drop, is body weight and gravity forcing his body to accept more than he was prepared to, not that he could have stopped it. His limbs felt like lead and his head was heavy, his chin dropping to his chest. He wasn’t entirely sure what was being asked of him, and he didn’t have any leverage with his hands locked behind his back.

He just closed his eyes and allowed it to happen, falling into the pattern, because he could really care less.

“None of these men will see the light of day again outside of a prison yard. Is there anything else you can tell me about what happened that we haven’t already discussed?”

Hiei shook his head. “I’ll testify in court if I have to. I don’t have anything else to say about it now.”

The detective studied Hiei rather intensely for a moment, before he nodded slowly. “Alright. I’ll send a doctor in, and your sister.”

Another nod and Hiei was alone again for a moment. It wasn’t a surprise that Yukina had filled the missing persons report instead of his mother. Youko and Kuronue had as well, but he was sure the cops hadn’t taken the report entirely seriously until Yukina had filed a report as well. Youko and Kuro weren’t exactly on good terms with the cops. He sighed, allowing the flutter and commotion of the doctors and his sister flow over him.

……………………………………………………………………………

“Hiei, man! No one told me you were awake. Have you heard anything about Kurama? People won’t tell me jack shit in this place. They act like I’m some sort of patient from hell or something.”

Hiei had harassed the nurses and Yukina into allowing him out of bed and to see Yusuke. The other teen was on strict bed rest, but Hiei had been allowed out, even if he was stuck in a wheel chair. Yusuke looked pale, his right arm wrapped in a solid cast, a brace over his shoulder and going across his chest. His leg was supported in a sling like device.

“Yukina said the last she’s heard is that Kurama’s still in a coma. Youko is in a constant state of panic and Kuro’s about driven insane,” Hiei shrugged a little as he settled his shoulder against the bed to look at Yusuke. “I just woke up a little while ago. Then the cops came to talk to me.”

Yusuke snorted, his good hand snaking out to grip Hiei’s hand in what could be assumed as a casual motion. “Can you believe it? We were kidnapped to be sold in a sex ring,” He shook his head, dropping it back on the pillow though he didn’t release Hiei’s hand. “I mean, I know we’re hot, but that’s a little insane.”

“The cops said they’re probably seen the three of you somewhere else. Been watching you before they took you.”

Hiei and Yusuke turned at the familiar voice. Kuronue stood in the door way, looking a little worse for wear. The dark clothes he had on looked like he’d been wearing them for days, his dark hair a mess and falling over his shoulders in a messy pony tail. He gave them a weary grin, coming over to drip a kiss on Hiei’s cheek and ruffling Yusuke’s hair. Kuronue drew up a chair, straddling it from behind as he settled next to Yusuke’s bedside. “How are the two of you?”

Hiei shrugged a little. “Still a little confused. Beat up. The doctors said they’re trying to wean me off morphine to reduce the results of a heroin addiction,” Hiei shrugged again. “I’m awake.”

“Broke arm, dislocated shoulder, broken collar bone, five broken ribs, clean break through my shin, two in my femur. Bruising, some muscle strain,” Yusuke wrinkled his nose a little in distaste. “I got the breathing tube out. I just about killed a doctor because of that.”

Kuronue laughed a little, though it sounded somewhat forced. “Yeah, that’s one of the big concerns for Kurama. They want him off the ventilator, but Inari and Shori aren’t entirely sure about it yet, and Youko… Well, he’s being Youko.”

“Meaning he’s stressing him into a hospital bed. I’m kind of surprised Inari hasn’t had him committed. It’s not the first time Youko’s had a panic attack and his dad had him locked up,” Yusuke muttered, shaking his head, and rolling it back against his pillows. “I wish I could go see them. Kurama was in bad shape last I saw him. I shoulda…”

“Should have nothing, Yusuke. If anything, Kurama is doing better than you are. Physically, he’s bruised, and he’s got some second degree burns, but he’ll recover physically. He just has to wake up.”

Silence settled over the room for a moment  before the door burst open.

“Yusuke! It’s mommy!” Yusuke cringed a little at the voice that came through the door, followed quickly by a dark haired woman, swaying slightly, with two large, grease covered bags in her hands. “I’ve brought you food! I know you must be tired of this stuff the hospital is giving you and I got the clearance to feed you from an outside source.”

Yusuke sighed, closing his eyes as the woman bustled into his room. “Thanks, ma. I’ve actually got people in here right now…”

He was cut off as his mother spotted Kuronue and Hiei. She dropped the bags on the bed in favour of throwing her arms around Kuronue. “Oh! Kuronue, sweetheart! I haven’t seen you in forever! Your hair’s gotten so long! I’m so glad you’re here to support Yusuke and Kurama,” Her dark gaze turned on Hiei before the younger teen could even attempt to wheel himself out of the room. “You must be Hiei. Oh, I’ve heard so much about you. I’m Yusuke’s mom. I’m so glad you three are alright. I mean, I’m glad all the kids they found are alright, but Yusuke’s my son, and you’re his friends, and I can’t help having a bias.

“Ma. Ma! Be careful. Hiei’s just being let out of bed. Sit down,” Yusuke sounded a little exasperated, blushing a little as his mother released Hiei settling on the side of Yusuke’s hospital bed.

She flushed, smiling wanly at Hiei who in turn tried to not look too harassed. “I’m sorry. I was just so worried, and now I’m just afraid that I’ll wake up and it will all have been a dream and you’ll still be gone,” She shook her head, eyes watering as she leaned into Yusuke. The dark haired boy sighed, shaking his head, and allowing her to lean carefully into him, patting her back.

Kuronue stood suddenly, trying to hold back laughter. “Well, I need to go make sure Youko is eating, and check on Kurama. I’m sure they’d appreciate a visit from you, Hiei, before visiting hours are over. His room’s supposed to be family only, but you’re practically family, and they’ve been letting me in there.”

“Not their smartest choice, now is that?” Yusuke laughed as his mom released him, jumping up to hug Hiei and Kuronue before they could leave. Kuronue leaned down to ruffle Yusuke’s hair again, kissing his forehead when his mother’s back was turned. Yusuke gripped Hiei’s hand again before he could leave, squeezing for a second. “Give Kurama a kiss for me. Two Prince Charmings should be enough to wake his ass up,” Yusuke teased, though Hiei could see the worry in the lines around his eyes, even though he grinned.

Hiei just nodded, and with another squeeze, Yusuke released his hand, and Kuronue took control of the wheel chair he’d been forced into and wheeled him from the room without waiting for a nurse.

“They might tell me you’re too exhausted and try and force you back into your room if we wait for their permission,” The older boy said in a conspirator’s tone as he leaned down over Hiei’s shoulder.

Hiei snorted with a laugh, because Kuronue was right, and he appreciated not being stuck in his bed. “I’ve never actually met Yusuke’s mother before.”

Kuronue laughed. “Yeah, she’s a little bit of a special lady. She’s got…. Connections all over the city. She’d kind of a drunk and a little flaky, but she’s a good mom and she cares about Yusuke a lot. Him being missing really tore her up. He was touch and go for a while, and it was almost as bad as when he got hit by a car a few years ago. He actually died for a few minutes that time. Full on, no heartbeat, stopped breathing, probably should have seen some sort of light, dead until they could get his heart beating again. I think it was a little worse this time because Kurama’s in the hospital as well. That’s how he met Yusuke actually.”

“In the hospital?”

“Yep. Yusuke had snuck up to the roof to smoke and Kurama was hiding up there because his mom had hit a real bad rough patch. It wasn’t long before she died,” Kuronue sighed. “Youko still wasn’t sure about this new sibling he’d acquired, so it was good for Kurama. He and Yusuke realized they were in school together and formed their odd little friendship. They’re actually the reason we met Touya, and we set him up with Jin a while ago.”

The statement was met with a few moments’ silence before Hiei spoke again. “Close knit group, huh?”

Another moment of silence as they reached a door before Kuronue leaned over him to lick the side of his face, making Hiei scrunch up his face and glare. Kuronue just smirked, purple eyes bright as he stared into Hiei’s red ones. “Yeah, we are. And, now that you’re a part of it, we’re not letting you go. It’s good to have you back, and have you awake,” He said sincerely, pressing a kiss to the bridge of Hiei’s nose before opening the door. Hiei blinked in silence, allowing himself to be wheeled into the room.

Youko blinked as the door opened, smirking a little at Kuronue and Hiei. “Hey, Kuro. How’d you manage to kidnap Hiei” Last Yukina said, you were still unconscious,” The blonde stood gracefully, though his hair was tied up in a high pony tail, messily done.

It took a moment for Hiei to take in the crumbled clothes and messy hair and dark, dark circles under his eyes. Hiei snorted and accepted the kiss Youko offered him. “You’re a mess,” He said eventually as Kuronue wheeled him to the side of Kurama’s bed, his gaze settling on the redhead a bit uneasily.

A laughed escaped Youko, though it bordered on hysterical. “Yeah, well, this hospital shower is a piece of shit. Can’t really wash my hair properly.”

“You could come home and shower. With your own clothes and shampoo and conditioner,” Kuronue muttered, taking a chair on the other side of the bed. His tone of voice said this was an argument they had gone through on multiple occasions. Youko made a muttered reply and Hiei tuned out, focusing his gaze on Kurama.

He was pale, pale, his hair pulled back and braided. From the way Youko was fiddling with the end of it, it had been his handiwork. A breathing tube connected to a ventilator fed into his mouth, pumping up and down and keeping him breathing. An IV fed into his arm, and a heart rate monitor. His other arm was encased in a cast. If had hadn’t been connected to enough machines to make him a terminator, the redhead could have been sleeping.

“You think you’re pretty fucking smart, don’t you, you little. Fucking. Slut,” Karasu punctuated his words with slaps across Kurama’s face, though the redhead did nothing to respond. He hung limp in the dark haired man’s grip where it tangled in his hair, tangling the long locks further. Karasu snarled, smacking him again before he dropped him to the floor. “If you think you can escape into your own head, you’re wrong. Something will get to you, and you will be mine!”

“Hiei!”

Hiei jerked at Youko’s voice. The blonde haired boy was staring at him curiously, his head cocked the side and concerned. Hiei blinked innocently, and in what he hoped was a blank and tired manner. “What?”

“You left us for a minute there,” Kuronue was watching him curiously as well, his gaze focused and alert. “The doctors said you might have PTSD from the drugs and…. Well, everything.”

“Or, they said Kurama might, when he wakes up,” Youko amended. “We just somewhat assumed it would extend to you and Yusuke was well. Yukina said they recommended that your mom try and get you into therapy or some sort, but I’m not sure what she did about it.”

A shake of his head and Hiei sucked his head. “I’m surprised my mother was even here, let alone willing to take any advice concerning me. Or do anything about it.”

“She wasn’t here long. Yukina said she had to leave for a business trip of some sort.”

Hiei rolled his eyes. “I’m not surprised. I’d have been more surprised if she stayed or actually gave a damn,” He paused again, frowning. “If she’s not here, who the hell is responsible for me? I can’t be released without an adult’s consent.”

“Kurama’s father and I, actually. Your mother and I spoke and she agreed that I was capable of giving consent for your release when you were well, and you could stay with either my husband and I, or Kuronue and Youko, wherever you feel more comfortable.”

Hiei blinked at the dark haired woman who stepped into the room, wearing hospital scrubs, looking a little tired. He did a fairly impressive impression of a fish, entirely unable to actually speak. Youko moved before he actually had to respond.

“Mom, are you off shift? Where’s dad? And, what do you mean you and dad are Hiei’s guardian?”

She smiled brightly as she stepped into the room, laying a hand on Youko’s shoulder before settling on the edge of Kurama’s bed. “I just finished my shift. You father has been caught up in a meeting at work, and I’ve ordered him home to sleep. He’ll return in the morning, and he expects to see that you’ve eaten and looked like you’ve attempted to shower and sleep, Youko,” The blonde looked guilty, ducking his head, though his mother tapped his cheek with a frown. “We’re just worried about you, dear. As for Hiei, your sister came to speak to me before your mother left for her business trip. She and I spoke and we agreed that I could suitably determine your health conditions and be responsible for your health,” The smile she was directing at Hiei was a little wane and hesitant. “So, I’m responsible for you. My name is Shori.”

Hiei took the hand she offered with no small amount of trepidation. “I guess you know who I am. I’m honestly a little surprised my mother showed up at all.”

A frown graced Shori’s lips for a moment before the expression was smoothed from her face. She smiled brightly at Hiei. “Yes, well, welcome to the family. My sons have nothing but good things to say about you. Though, if what I’ve heard from the nurses is true, you were kidnapped from Yusuke’s room mysteriously, and you’ve got the nurses in a bit of a tizzy because they can’t find you,” She raised an eyebrow, glancing over her shoulder at Kuronue. The brunette shrugged, unrepentant.

Hiei was silent. He wasn’t entirely sure who Shori was referring to as her sons. Youko was obviously included in that, but it was plural and he had to wonder if she really considered Kurama her son, despite him being basically the bastard child of an affair. Hiei’s own mother didn’t even want him, enough she was willing to pawn him off on another woman.

“Hiei,” A hand tucked under his chin, and he blinked as his head was tipped up, realizing he’d dropped his gaze and apparently exhibited some form of irritation or frustration as he met Shori’s dark eyes and she smiled at him. “You’ve found a place now, and we take care of our own. Now, say goodbye to Kurama and we’ll get you back to your room for medication and a checkup and rest. Also, I’m entirely sure your sister would like to speak with you again. I’ll take you back, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask them. Youko,” Her tone was sharp as she turned to her son, who looked up at her with wide, golden eyes that he tried to make look innocent. Shori looked unimpressed. “There is a change of clothes in the car and I know for a fact that the cafeteria is still open. If you’re not eating when I get back….”

She trailed off and stared hard at Youko. The blonde ducked his head and Hiei laughed a little at the fact that she could cow him so easily. Before Youko could smack him for it, he’d leaned over Kurama’s bedside and kissed his cheek, twice. “One from me, and one from Yusuke. Wake up, Kurama,” He leaned away with one more squeeze to Kurama’s hand and settled back in the chair that he was quickly learning to hate, ignoring Shori’s knowing smile and allowed himself to be wheeled back into his room.

……………………………….

“Hiei! Oh, where did you run off to? Yusuke refused to say anything about it, and the nurses didn’t know, and the doctor wanted to speak to you, and I needed to talk to you about mother and…”

“I was visiting Kurama, Yukina. He’s still in a coma and the nurses would have argued,” Hiei raised an eyebrow at Yukina as she quieted, frowning, with her hands folded in front of her. Hiei sighed a little, waving Yukina into the room and she hurried in, dragging someone behind her. Hiei blinked, frowning. “Kuwabara? What the hell are you doing here?”

Yukina spoke up before Kuwabara could. “He’s accompanying me. He came to visit Yusuke, and I was her as well. Kazuma and I are… friends.”

Red eyes glared, attempting to be as intimidating as one could be from a hospital bed. The orange haired boy stood his ground, staring back. Yukina sighed dramatically, sinking into a chair beside Hiei’s bed.

Kazuma Kuwabara was a sports player at Hiei and Yukina’s high school. Big, and lanky, he played football and basketball, and he was an intimidating presence all on his own, the letterman’s jacket making it so his form filled the doorway. Dumb as a box of rocks, in Hiei’s opinion, but he couldn’t think of anything really bad he’d heard about the boy. Even Yusuke knew him. Some sort of childhood friendship that had been split up when  Kuwabara’s parents had moved them out to suburbia hell for a school where he had the potential for a football scholarship or a basketball scholarship safely.

Another moment passed before Hiei turned to face his sister. “What happened to Keiko?”

“We’re still friends,” Yukina replied cheerfully, apparently happy with Hiei’s acceptance of Kuwabara. “She’s dating this boy nicknamed Sniper right now. Keiko and I stopped hooking up when Kazuma asked me out a few weeks ago.

With a deep sigh, Hiei allowed his sister to speak, the words washing over him, light and comforting in their familiarity. Whatever pain medication they were forcing on him through the IV was apparently pretty good, because Hiei hadn’t even realized when he’d fallen asleep.

………………………………………………

“Look at him ravaging you little friend. You had better appreciate the view, because unless your new owners are really nice, this is a view you won’t be seeing again in the near future. Or, ever again, unless you’re bought by someone very, very generous.”

Sakyo had forced Hiei upright, his arms attached to a chain that looped through a hook that was attached to the ceiling. Sakyo gripped Hiei’s hips from behind, thrusting hard into the small teen. Bui, for once not occupied with Hiei, was settled on the floor with his book against the wall, Kurama settled across his legs. He didn’t seem to mind the red head’s lack of reactions. He kept a steady grip on the thin teen’s hips, bouncing him easily in his lap, Kurama falling back against his chest, his head lolling back against Bui’s shoulder, his blank gaze focused on the ceiling.

A sharp gasp was forced from Hiei’s lips as Sakyo shifted again, his grip tightening on Hiei’s hips, leaning over the smaller teen’s shoulder to speak into his ear. “I’m going to make a fortune selling you off like the pretty little fucking whore you are. Maybe your buyer will feed you fix and keep you so strung out you can barely even remember your own name. Or maybe,” Sakyo paused, chuckling a little, though it was strained as he thrust hard into Hiei, making the teen tip off his feet, crying out as his wrist took the brunt of his weight. “Or, maybe, they’ll force you to get clean, solely for the pleasure of watching you scream and cry and squirm and beg and promise absolutely anything if they’ll just give you the drugs. You already would, wouldn’t you? Not even in withdraw and I could offer you the needle and you’d do anything for it.”

Hiei’s head fell forward against his chest, too weak to even nod, though he couldn’t deny it. He wished he could, but he didn’t even fight Sakyo as he’d dragged him to his feet and chained him up. He hadn’t been able to fight much at all and even less so when he felt like clawing at his own skin because there just had to be something crawling under it.

“Filthy fucking slut. Such a little whore. If you weren’t such a good fuck, it wouldn’t be worth it to charge people for you. You’d give it up for free, roll over for anyone who asked…”

“Hiei!”

A sharp voice drew Hiei from sleep, and he jumped a little, blinking and squinting into consciousness. Hiei frowned, his gaze narrow as he tried to focus on the person beside his bed. Youko cocked his head to the side, sliding his hand onto the bed to brush his fingers over Hiei’s arm, and Hiei jumped a little at the contact.

“You were dreaming, Hiei. Nightmare?”

Hiei nodded slightly, struggling to sit up and wincing at the pull from the IV. “Yeah. Stupid fucking memories,” He gave Youko a speculative look. “What are you doing in here?”

Youko laughed, running a hand through his hair, which, Hiei noted, looked at least like he’d managed to shower somewhat properly, and he was wearing clean clothes. “Well, I was kicked out of Kurama’s room because apparently he has some sort of physical therapy thing, and the doctors need to talk to my parents, and I’m in the way. So, I’ve been exiled. Kuro went to see Yusuke, and we’ll switch eventually,” The blonde grinned again, shaking his head. “I feel kind of bad. I hadn’t exactly been keeping up with you.”

“Kurama’s in worse shape than I am,” Hiei shrugged.

Youko squeezed his arm as he shook his head. “You were in a medically induced coma, Hiei. I only know because Yukina told Kuro and Kuro told me. After which I visited for all of a minute before going to sulk by Kurama’s bedside again. I think he’s probably even fed up with the sound of my voice. Kuronue’s about to beat me.”

Hiei snorted, sliding his hand to grip Youko’s. “You’d like that too much. Maybe he just needs to fuck you into submission,” Youko laughed at that as well and Hiei shook his head. “But, seriously. Have you had sex since we were taken? You look wound pretty damn tight.”

“Uh… Not since you were found,” Youko shrugged sheepishly at Hiei’s incredulous look. “I’ve only been home a few times and most of the time Kuro isn’t in the mood either. It was different when you were just missing. Kuro threw me down a few times and tied me up and…. It helped, but now it’s just…”

“This may sound a little unreasonable, but you really need to get laid. Find a fucking broom closet or something. I’m sure Kuro is more than willing to fuck your brains out,” Youko laughed out loud and Hiei gave him a long look. “I expect a really good lay when I get out of here, and I’m sure Yusuke and Kurama will too. I expect you at your best for that. I’ll accept nothing less.”

“Is that a direct challenge, Hiei? Because it certainly sounds like it,” the blonde sighed, shaking his head, settling golden eyes on Hiei, obviously a little relaxed. “I guess I’ll have to go practice to make sure Kuronue and I are at the top of our game.”

A voice from the doorway made both Hiei and Youko jump. “Sound a little less like a martyr, Youko. I feel like fucking you is going to be some sort of job now,” Kuronue smirked as he sauntered into the room. “Maybe I’ll have to tied you up and show you the proper respect for your master,” He settled a heavy hand on the back of Youko’s neck, and the blonde looked up at him with a slight grin. “Or, maybe you need a good spanking. I’m sure neither of your parents would complain. Now,” His voice had dropped the teasing tone, and Youko blinked. “Go see Yusuke for a while, and then your parents want to talk to you.”

Something flickered between the two, and Youko’s eyes narrowed. “Did they say anything about Kurama?”

Kuronue shook his head, his gaze solidly on Youko, his eyes a little too wide for innocence, but dark and he left Youko no room to argue. “Go on, then.”

It took another moment, but Youko finally nodded, lifting himself from the chair, brushing a kiss over Hiei’s lips, and one over Kuronue’s before he exited the room silently.

“What’s wrong with Kurama?” Hiei held onto the question as long as he could, waiting at least until Youko was out of the room and Kuronue had closed the door, the brunette settling beside him on the bed.

Kuronue sighed, closing his eyes, patting Hiei’s leg comfortingly. “Uh, the doctors want to take him off the ventilator. If he can breathe on his own, they have faith that he’ll wake up. If not…”

“If not, he’s dead anyways, right?”

“Right,” Kuronue said after a moment, his gaze dark before turning to Hiei. “It’s Kurama. He’ll keep breathing, and when the time’s right, he’ll wake up. That’s the way he is. Stubborn as all hell and a will to survive. Plus, he and Yusuke have a pact. Yusuke nearly died in a fight, saving this kid Kuwabara a few years ago, and Kurama was at his bedside daily, threatening him if he didn’t come back. If he’s in there, he’ll come back.”

The words firm, and seemed as much for Kuronue’s benefit as for Hiei’s, and Hiei decided it was more productive to let it go for the time being.

“Kuwabara. Embodies the term dumb jock? My sister dragged him in here. Apparently she’s lowered herself to his level, because he’s a ‘wonderful person’ and I have no right to judge him because I don’t know him,” Hiei rolled his eyes as Kuronue laughed and mimicked his air quotes. “You know, you could have come to get me to go see Yusuke instead of switching off. I’d like out of bed.”

Kuronue shook his head, leaning forward to pat Hiei’s head, dodging as the younger boy swiped at him. “Well, I did need Youko out of the way for a minute with both of you. Plus, Shori threatened my life if I left the room with you again without permission, and the nurses want you well rested for your physical therapy today. From what I know of it, it’s intense. You’ll be grateful for your bed.”

Another eye roll and Hiei muttered something about doubtful. “Fine, fine. Are you at least staying until they come to kick you out?”

“Barring emergency I won’t be leaving a minute sooner.”

.........................................................

Oy. A little fluffy for my taste, but, meh. Sorry about all the sex being in flash backs, but it was the only way that seemed entirely fit during this chapter. Good news, I ALREADY HAVE A BIG SEX SCENE FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER MOSTLY WRITTEN! Aren't y'all proud of me? There wasn't going to be sex, but since I broke it up as this being a chapter of its own, and the next one, Kuro and Youko demanded sexy time.

Also! There are two planned chapters left in this story. The next one, and then one more, and that's it for the official story of Go Ask Alice. I have something big and super fun planned for the last one, so keep an eye out. I tried to keep up with the conflict and drag it out, but it really did drag and I decided to end it, and if I ever really want to write Sakyo humiliating and violently raping Hiei, or Toguro beating the shit out of Yusuke and coming all over his face, I have that option as exerts from the story. Hopefully the next chapter won't be so long coming. Until then!
