The Day Love came for Me

Note: this one is post-series. (My imagination runs around, clapping hands, “I’m free, I’m free!”)
The Day Love Came for Me by: boysluvcraft

People say that love, true love, is one-shot deal; it only came around once in a lifetime. The one I loved in this life, Hiei, I had not seen for nearly a year and a half. The last time was when Koenma’s offices were seized by a terrorist group. Yusuke requested his assistance from Enki, the present ruler of Demon World. And I saw him only once before that, he came to the human world briefly to ask me a favor. He had a nasty wound on his stomach which he implied he had received from Mukuro. And before that was at the Demon World Unification Tournament, another year and a half gap. So in three years, I saw the man I was direly in love with three times.

In the past three years, I finished high school, started working for my step-father’s firm and married a beautiful woman… just kidding about the last part. Though, my mother had put up a valiant effort to set me up with someone. I don’t think I’ve changed much over these three years. The world-- all three worlds actually-- have changed quite a bit. Demon World became comparatively more peaceful due to King Enki’s influence. After the incident with former Spirit Detective Sensui, Spirit World was forced to audit all files pertaining to demons. They found a large number of the reports were falsified, thus the persecution they had laid on demon kind for centuries was unjust. As a result Spirit World decided to take down the barrier between the two worlds so demons could pass back and forth as they please.

The human world was steadily becoming aware of our existence and surprisingly most humans were very welcoming to demonic sojourners. In fact, my father’s company was bidding for a project to build a portal station, that is, a designated site for demons to cross into the human world. Everyone thought it was a good idea. It would reduce the incidents of hapless demons accidentally materializing in the middle of the free-way. Oh yes, it has happened and it was messy.

I had contemplated of telling my mother the truth about myself being a demon, but I hadn’t gathered up the courage yet. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t because I was ashamed or anything. I had long since come terms with my demonic past and my present humanity. I did have some support within my family. My step-brother figured me out. Well, he was possessed by a demon parasite for over nine months while I was working for Yomi. I guess it raised his spiritual awareness. A lot can change in three years.

Things were about to change again. Three years had passed and it was time for another Demon World Tournament. I walked into the arena with Yusuke at my side and we were instantly assaulted by the affections of our friends from the Dark Tournament, Jin, Toya, Chu, Rinku, Suzuki, and Shishi-- okay it was just Jin, Toya, Chu, Rinku, and Suzuki who greeted us with fond hugs and kisses, but Shishi was with them… and Jin was the only one giving out kisses and only to Yusuke. The two of them shacked during Yusuke’s last visit to Demon World. They were a cute couple.

I broke way from the group to go to a lone figure that lingered near the perimeter.

“Hello Hiei.”

“Kurama,” he nodded to me.

That was about the extent of our conversation before we where called for the preliminary drawing of lots. It was no surprise that everyone in our group of friends won in the preliminaries and advanced to the main tournament. I did much better this year, making it all the way to the fifth round before having my derriere handed to me by Demon World’s former first lady, Kokoh. I slept through the rest of the tournament. When I woke up, I was confronted by Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Botan’s grinning faces.

“Well good morning sleepy head,” Botan chirped.

“Is it morning?” I asked sluggishly.

“Actually, it’s one in the afternoon, but whatever. We’re just glad you finally woke up.” Yusuke’s grin broadened, “Hey, Kuwabara go get him.”

“Righty-o,” Kuwabara saluted and dashed to the door and hollered out, “Yo! He’s up.” Turning back to me and declared, “Presenting his royal majesty, the King of Demon World!”

So the tournament was over. I wondered briefly why the new king would want to give me audience-- unless, Yomi won! A figure appeared in the doorway. It was not Yomi’s tall, broad frame, but rather an unmistakably short and slight body.

“Hiei?!” I gasped and looked at my grinning friends, “Are you telling me the truth?”

It was not a joke. They proved it to me by turning on the TV monitor in my room. The playbacks for the tournament were airing on all the news channels. Mukuro lost to Hokushin in quarter finals after a hard battle with Kujo. Yusuke lost to Enki in the quarters, after barely beating Shura in the fifth round. Yomi went through Soketsu, Kokoh, and Enki only to lose to Hiei in the final round. Hiei really was the King of Demon World.

“You don’t have to look so shocked,” Hiei smirked and kicked his boots up onto a table next to his chair. “I’ve gotten much stronger these past three years. I’m S-Class now.”

“I noticed your increased aura. S-Class really?” I responded. I noticed that the others had filed out of the room. Botan and Yusuke where giggling like school girls. What did they know that I didn’t?

“I suppose I have to attribute some of my victory to the luck of the draw. My opponent in the semi-finals was one of Yusuke’s monks; hardly a challenge,” he shrugged. It was the closest to modestly anyone would get from Hiei.

“So,” I asked, trying to keep the conversation going, “Do you have any plans for your reign as king?”

“Not much. Enki’s rules have worked out well so I think we’ll keep them as is,” Hiei said as if bored, “but I have been thinking about introducing a little bureaucratization.”

“Bureaucratization?!” That wasn’t something I’d expected from Hiei.

“Not anything too annoying, mind you, like requiring a license to do everything but take a shit,” He elaborated, “Just basic record keeping stuff, like birth and death certificates, permanent address forms, ownership papers, marriage licenses… that sort of thing.”

“Okay,” I was still not sure this was Hiei.

“I just thought it would be nice, say for example, you got married to someone, you’d have legal documentation to prove it,” Hiei said lazily. “You don’t agree?”

“I suppose it would cut down on a lot of unnecessary disputes,” I replied.

“If it doesn’t work out, the guy who takes over for me in three years can just shut the bureaus down,” Hiei added.

“You don’t think you can take the crown for a second term?” I asked. “I’m sure that if you continue to progress at the rate you are, in three years you could take Yomi, even if the luck of the draw is against you.”

“Feh! I know that,” Hiei scoffed, “I was just planning to retire to the human world for a while.”

“You… retire… human world,” at this point Hiei had me so lost, I could only repeat parts of his statements.

“Well yeah, that’s where my future husband’s family lives and I can’t keep him away form them forever,” Hiei smirked as he took in my dizzy face.

“H-Hiei?” I stuttered as he got out of his chair and kneeled at my feet.

“Kurama, I’ve obtained everything I wanted in life, but the one I wanted most.” He said taking my hand in his.

“I don’t understand, Hiei,” I gapped, “I was under the impression you were over me.”

“I am no more over you than you are over me,” Hiei scoffed, “and don’t try to fool me by saying you are. I’ve seen that hurt puppy look come over your face every time we’re near each other. Ha, it‘s so obvious I bet even Yomi can see it!”

I opened my mouth but Hiei cut me off, “Don’t interrupt me, Fox! I’m trying to tell you something here. You remember why we split up before; because you worried too much about me. So much to the point you forgot to take care of yourself, and I… I wasn’t strong enough to just put your worries to rest.”

“Hiei, I never said…” I shook my head. Yes, I doubted his strength at one time, but I didn’t hold it against him personally. It was my own weakness that pushed me to leave him.

“I know,” Hiei dismissed it with a waved, “You probably didn’t even think it, consciously that is. But I did. I didn’t feel as if I was strong enough to keep you, then. Now however…”

“Yes?” I asked as a strange, but not unpleasant knot turned in my stomach.

“I’m the king of all Demon World,” he said matter-of-factly, “And I want to marry you.”

“You do?” I could hardly believe it.

“Kurama,” Hiei kissed the back of my hand, “Will you marry me?”

“Yes!” I managed to gulp out before I broke out into tears and hugged him.

Hiei chuckled and petted my head, “Now now, you don’t have to cry. Spending the rest of your life with me couldn’t be that bad.”

I looked up at him. He was wearing that peaceful smile that was reserved for my eyes only. It filled my chest with gentle warmth, warmth that quickly began to change into a high heat as Hiei leaned forward and kissed me on the lips. Oh, how long had it been that I wished to feel his sweet lips again? I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my lips back to his. I felt the bed sink as he moved to settle over me.

“I’ll understand if you want to wait to do this someplace more private,” Hiei gasped.

“I’ve waited long enough,” I told him as I pulled open his coat. I marveled at his beautifully carved torso. I was glad to see only a few small cuts and bruises from his battles. I was also pleased to see that there were no belts to impede my progress. I guess Hiei actually thought things out a bit before coming to me. I reached for the buttons on his pants while I leaned forward to flick my tongue over one of the partially healed cuts. It was nearly mended but I could still taste his blood under the skin, warm and coppery. It tingled on my tongue.

Hiei unknotted the tie on my dressing gown and after that it was only a matter of peeling away my scrub bottoms to have me completely naked on the bed. Hiei stepped off the bed so that he could kick off his shoes and drop his pants. Then without a pause he was back on the bed, straddling my waist. I couldn’t help myself, on impulse my hand shot out between his legs to fondle his heavy balls.

“Hmm, shit Kurama,” Hiei moaned, doubling over. It didn’t take long for his mouth and fingers to find my nipples. He knew just what to do to drive me wild.

I shuttered, “Fuck, Hiei!”

“We’ll get to that,” he chuckled. He moved down my body, kissing and licking as he went along. Unfortunately, the move caused my hand to lose contact with those lovely balls, but I think I was able to cope once Hiei’s hot little mouth fell on my cock.

“Whoa!” I gasped, “I… I guess I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t wait… Mmm!”

My cock swelled nearly to the point of pain when Hiei probed its slit with the tip of his tongue. One of his hands slithered up my body to caress my chin and lips. Yes, this was exactly what I’d been wanting for. I leaned forward and gladly took those digits into my mouth and sucked them. He took them back when they were properly wet, but then I was surprised to not feel them probing at my backside. I looked down at Hiei as he gasped and panted around my manhood. My eyes widened to find those fingers between his own legs pushing and moving into his entrance.

“Hiei… you… you’re going to?” I stumbled. Hiei and I had had sex before, but he never bottomed… ever! He looked up at me, an intense heat burning in his eyes.

“I’m the king am I not?” He said as he climbed up my body and positioning himself above me. “So, I’m entitled to whatever I want. And what I want right now is to have that gorgeous cock of yours, lodged deep in my bowels.”

Those words alone were nearly enough to make me come. I’m not sure how I managed to hold it in as Hiei lowered himself, slowly incasing my shaft in his heat. I grabbed his hips in a vice-like grip to keep him from moving-- regardless of if he was ready to move I wasn’t! I could barely look at him without feeling like my cock was going to explode. There Hiei was flush faced, with shinning wet, pink lips, eyes dark and heavy with passion, playing with his hardening dick while he sat on mine. He was tight too. And I could feel his pulse throbbing around me. It was too much!

He moaned and reached down to touch my face. “You’ve gotten so handsome,” he told me, “I didn’t take that into account. Shit, I’m lucky nobody stole you while I was away.”

“What can I say? You’re a … tough act to follow,” I managed to string the words together. “Hiei, this isn’t hurting you… is it?”

“Heh, do you think I’ve spent these past three years just training for the tournament?” Hiei smirked. “I’ve been practicing for this too.”

“Oh?” He’d peeked my interest. “With what?”

“A series of fun toys that I picked up in the human world,” Hiei told me with a touch of something that resembled shyness, “I started with a rather small one and worked my way up to one closer to your size. Though right now, you feel sooo much bigger than my most recent one. Ohh and getting bigger too. Is this conversation exciting you?”

“No, just you, you wicked thing,” I purred, kneading his firm hips.

With that little bit of encouragement, Hiei lifted his hips and started to move along my shaft. I gripped him again, but this time not to stop him. I just needed something to hold onto; else I become lost forever in the amazing pleasure he was giving me.

“Ahh, Kurama… you have no idea how… ohm, long I’ve wanted to do… this!” Hiei puffed between downward thrusts.

“So-sooo, glad to oblige,” I responded as the edges of my world started to blend away into nothingness. I tried to sound cool about it, but really I was coming apart at the seams. I thought I would never hold my Hiei again, but here I was making love to him.

Our first lovemaking session in over four years was embarrassingly short, but then you have to take in consideration the length of time we spent apart, longing for each other. Me going on with my life, resigned in the idea that I’d never have him again, but still dreaming that I could. And Hiei, apparently spending every day striving to reach some predetermined goal that stood between us. Taking that into account it was not at all surprising that we both finished so quickly.

I panted as Hiei slid off of me, “wow.”

“Hn, I guess we’re not winning any marathons,” Hiei snorted, “But I think I’ll give you the gold for the four hundred meter dash.”

“And people say you don’t have a sense humor,” I smiled, not so much for his joke, but the euphoric feeling that had settled in my bones.

“Never mind. We have the rest of our lives to pull all-nighters,” he leaned over and kissed me. I placed my hand on his cheek in a motion to deepen our kiss, but he suddenly pulled back, “Oh, I almost forgot.”

He hopped out of the bed and went to riffle through his discarded clothes. With an “Ah-ha,” he produced as small jar, like the kind modeling paint comes in. On closer inspection, it was not paint inside, fine grains of metallic dust.

“What is that?” I asked.

“Shavings from the Conjuring Sword,” he told me, “You see I never told this because I didn’t think it mattered at the time, but I did have a plan for us after we stole the three artifacts from Spirit World. You figured out that I didn’t care for world conquest and that the mirror was always intended to save your mother. But you were wrong when you assumed that I didn’t give a rat’s ass about the sword. You see, Kurama, turning everyday things into low-level mindless demon slaves is only a parlor trick compared to the true power of the Conjuring Sword.”

“And that would be?” I asked warily.

“If we infuse these shavings with our energy and transfuse it into a non-living vehicle crafted in our combined images, we can in affect, grant it life and independent consciousness,” Hiei explained. “Or in other words, we can make a baby.”

We were married in the Demon World on the following day. All of our friends were in attendance. Koenma was still around from the tournament, so he preformed the ceremony. Yomi gave me way. He said it was about time, he was getting ready to stick me on the curb with a “Free” sigh hung around my neck like an old sofa. Mukuro sat in the front row, smiling and wringing a handkerchief like a mother-of-the-bride. I had teased Hiei once, calling him and Mukuro lovers-- mostly to confirm to myself whether or not it was true. But I suppose that their relationship was of the more maternal nature.

As for my family, I have to say, I was anxious about their reactions; same-sex marriages were still taboo in the human’s culture. Then there was the point that I would be living in the Demon World for the next three years. As you may suspect explaining the whole thing without mentioning the fact that I was a demon would have proven impossible without outright lying. I decided to bite the bullet and tell mother the truth.
So over coffee at my family’s home, I told her. I was so nervous I had Hiei holding one of my hands under the table and my little brother holding the other.

I told mother everything from my reincarnation in her womb to my recent marriage to Hiei. And I kid you not, her reaction was to slap her own cheek and say, “That explains so much!” She was glad that I was happy-- and proud that out of all the guys I could marry I snagged a king! But she was slightly disappointed that I married a guy, but only because she hoped to have a grandchild. That was until Hiei shared his master plan with her… after that, things sort of spiraled out of control. It was strange enough seeing Hiei having a conversation with my mother. It was outright weird when they broke out the old baby books and mother started pointing out how I used to have the cutest dimples on my tushy. Hiei smiled at that, knowing that I still had the cutest dimples….

Three years later, Hiei turned the throne over to the next victor of the Demon World Tournament, Soketsu. We had packed our belongings in preparation for our move to Human World where my family anxiously awaited us… but, they were expecting three.

“You’re throwing off my concentration,” Hiei grumbled as I kissed and sucked at his neck. I was sitting behind him with my chest pressed to his back and my hands resting delicately on his mud covered hands.

“I thought a little bit of romance was in order,” I cooed as our hands moved over the lump of clay that lay before us, giving it shape, “we are making a baby after all.”

“Yes, but we’re trying to make pretty baby,” Hiei corrected, “So pay at least a little attention to what you’re doing.”

“Relax, we only have to make it vaguely baby shaped. Our DNA and the magic of the Conquering Sword Dust will do the rest.” I soothed him and kissed him on the neck again. “What do you think he’ll look like?”

“Just like you,” Hiei muttered leaning back into me.

“I want him to look like both of us,” I told him as I nuzzled his ear

“But you were a way cuter baby than I was,” Hiei laughed.

“You’re adorable now,” I snorted in reply, “I bet if I saw you as a baby I’d die from cute-shock.”

“Hn. What features of mine do you want?” He inquired.

“I think I want your hair color, for starts,” I said.

“Not red?” Hiei glanced back at me, “It’s a nice color.”

“I can’t wear orange,” I told him, “Black goes with everything.”

“Ridiculous,” Hiei shook head.

“But if I could only pick one,” I continued, “I’d say I’d want him to have your smile.”

“I don’t smile,” Hiei said firmly.

“You do for me and it’s a beautiful smile.”

Hiei half turned to give me a baffled look. I took the opportunity to kiss him soundly on the lips.

“Ah, wait a second,” Hiei said after we parted. He pulled out a little velvet poach out of his pocket and dumped the continents into his palm. They were a pair of beautiful sparkling gemstones. They were green. He explained, “To match your eyes. You know how I love your eyes.”

“Hiei,” I sighed leaning in to kiss him again, “I love you so much.”

“I love you too fox-boy,” Hiei muttered returning my kiss.

Back to the task at hand, he pushed the jewels into the face where the eyes should be. And then we placed the clay figure into a basin of water. Hiei poured the metallic powder into his palm and held it over basin. As instructed, I placed my hand over his.

“I pray this works,” I whispered.

“It will,” Hiei hushed me softly, before he drove a dagger through the back of my hand, all the way down through the palm of his. I hissed for the momentary pain as he pulled the blade out. He griped my hand hard, helping the blood to flow and mixed with his and the metal dust. We raised our energies, forcing it into the blood that dripped down into water, which was then bubbling and giving off sparks. Abruptly, Hiei let go of my hand and reached down into the water. When he pulled up the clay form, it was screaming and was no longer clay.

“Oh my god,” I gasped, “he’s beautiful.” Hiei’s trick with the stones worked. Our baby’s eyes were my color, but they were almond shaped like Hiei’s. He had Hiei’s hair color too, complete with that adorable white spark. “Uh, what should we call him?”

“I want to call him Shuichi,” Hiei grinned, “Hm, Shuichi’s a fox.”

“Huh?” I jerked.

“Look,” Hiei pointed to baby Shuichi’s cute, fuzzy black ears. “He’s got a tail too.”

“Huh, I’ll be,” I said vacantly, “I didn’t take my fox form into account at all, when I imagined him.”

Hiei hefted Shuichi up and whispered to him, “Your daddy should have been born a blond.”

Shuichi flailed his little arms and legs and laughed. Looking at them my heart melted. He had Hiei’s smile. People say true love is a one-shot deal, a once in a lifetime thing. But when saw my baby smile, I fell in love for a second time. I must be the luckiest man in the world; I got a Two-Shot.

END.
A/N: Hoped you liked this adventure though Kurama-land. Reviews would be awesome. For my Dreamland fans, I’m starting on that sequel. Hope see you Next Time!
