Hiei's Harem - Pt. 18 - Ending

Scene 7 ----------- A Couple Hours Later


* Hiei is back at work in his main councilroom. He continues to scan the current demon standing before him even though he feels River slip in. When he is done he opens his true eyes to look at his daughter that’s been reluctant to leave him for too long today. She is now sitting in one of the big chairs that surround the large oval table. Hiei watches her kick her feet over the edge of the chair playfully as he waves the scanned demon away. Before he can speak to her they hear the commotion start at Dagon’s desk out in the hallway.


Demon- And just why the h--- should I submit to that?!

Dagon- Everyone in his service will be..

Demon- Or what?

Hiei- Or you don’t work for me! - Get in here!


* The large ugly reptillian demon enters the councilroom. Hiei scowls.


Hiei- You’re not from the Barren Lands.

Demon- Not hardly. My name is Fuengu.

Hiei- I could care less who you are.. Why are you here to work for me?

Fuengu- Isn’t it d--- obvious?


* Hiei ignores the odd feeling he gets for the moment.


Hiei- It will be once I scan you.

Fuengu- Not with that jagan you won’t. I’ve seen what the thing can do.

Hiei- If you have nothing to hide it won’t harm you.


* The large demon rubs his chin. He half glances toward River then grunts his unconcern at the presence of the child.


Fuengu- Fine.. Just give me a few minutes to.. prepare.


* Hiei’s jagan tingles and begins to open on its own as Fuengu closes his eyes. The third eye flares when the large demon begins to chant and wave his hands slowly. By the time the Crow figures out what’s happening and hurries into the room Hiei already has his katana unsheathed.


Dagon- Master! It’s a Maddening..!


* The dark apparition doesn’t need to hear anymore. In fact, he’s already in the middle of hacking Fuengu’s head off. Suddenly, all the anger and rage that Hiei’s been bottling up since Staci passed explodes inside him. By the time he wears it all out the remains of the reptillian invader are spread all over the floor of the councilroom. When Hiei finally stops, covered in the demon’s blood, he spins to glare heaving at Dagon. The Crow steps back until his back hits the wall behind him, thinking that perhaps the Maddening spell had worked. But then a sound reaches Hiei’s befuddled mind. When he recognizes it as River crying he blinks, lowers his sword, then looks toward her. The little girl hops off the table and hurries to latch herself to Hiei’s waist before Dagon can react.


River- Daddy, you’re hurt..! Please, call for Aunt ‘Rista!


* Dagon watches carefully as Hiei drops his sword and gathers River up into his arms.


Hiei- I’m not hurt, Spark.. It’s not my.. blood..

River- Was that killing, Daddy?


* Hiei stares down at her then quickly gives her over to Dagon when he moves forward.


Hiei- He was some.. relative of Matsua’s.. Clean up in here and get her to Sarista.


* Forgetting his sword Hiei just blurs out.


River- Daddy?! What happened?


* Dagon moves out into the hallway to get the little girl away from the gory scene. Sarista blinks around the corner, spots them, and hurries over.


Sarista- Dagon, what happened? I felt Hiei’s emotions go crazy..


* Dagon lets Sarista take River. She begins to frantically check the little girl for injuries as Dagon explains. Sarista then hugs River.


Sarista- Are you okay? Were you hurt?

River- That bad guy tried to do something to Daddy. But he took care of that demon real good, Aunt ‘Rista.


* Sarista sighs and looks back up at Dagon.


Sarista- Was Hiei.. hurt?

Dagon- He didn’t appear to be injured physically.. He just tossed her to me and took off.

Sarista- His jagan will help him I’m sure.. Let’s get you cleaned up, River.


* Sarista embraces River closer as she heads back toward the stairs.


River- He’s still hurt about Aunt Staci.

Sarista- I know, honey.

River- I wish I could help him with that.

Sarista- I’m sure he’ll be okay.


* Sarista heads the other females off that have started to come down the stairs. She fields all of their questions as they follow her back up to the private level. She stops at the top of the staircase to look at Yusuke and Kurama when they come over curiously.


Yusuke- What happened?


* Sarista hands River over to Lily.


Sarista- Get her cleaned up.


* Sarista motions the others off and they all follow Lily away. Sarista looks back up at Yusuke and Kurama.


Sarista- From what I understand, some relative of Matsua’s tried to put a Maddening spell on Hiei.. I guess he lost control of.. everything he’s been bottling up..


Yusuke- I knew it would have to blow off somewhere.

Kurama- Is Hiei hurt? Where is he?

Sarista- He took off.. River witnessed the whole thing.. I know he has to be upset. He’d hoped to keep his children sheltered from the ugliness of our World as much as he could.. He certainly never wanted River to see him lose control.

Yusuke- Do you have any idea where he went?

Sarista- No he.. just left. But I don’t think he wants to be chased down this time.

Yusuke- But we don’t want another repeat from the last ordeal.

Sarista- I don’t think he’ll try that again.. I doubt if that demon had any chance of finishing the spell.

Kurama- I believe the jagan would protect him from any spells affecting his mind too deeply. It’ll probably just take some time for it to sort him out.

Yusuke- We’d better go shadow him, though, just to be sure, ‘Rama.

Kurama- Yes. In his state of late, it’s best not to take any chances.

Sarista- Maybe he went somewhere to clean off.

Yusuke- We’ll find him.


* Sarista continues on her way to assist Lily. She can feel, also, that the rest of the pack are still worked up. Yusuke and Kurama hurry down the stairs to begin searching for Hiei.
