Scene 7
Well, it’s a cold snowy morning here, I’m cold and bored so I decided to add the next two scenes. They’re shorter ones so it shouldn’t take you all long to read them and catch up. :o)
*********************
Scene 7 ------------ The Village
* Hiei enters Habataro’s hut and crosses his arms. Habataro is in the middle of a group energy-sharing session with his three females. Coutaro is relaxing on the couch enjoying the residuals of the session. The younger Lynx glances toward Hiei.
Hiei- Where’s the other one? Doing his laundry at the river?
Coutaro- Hello to you, too, Master.
Habataro- Actually,.. Kuma’s at the barrier.. Our three friends are back.
Hiei- I’m not in a good mood.. Now would be the perfect time to let all three of those b------s in.
* Habataro drops his energy, kisses his three mates, and stands to move to Hiei.
Coutaro- What’s happened, sir?
Hiei- I just got word that Ooshama has captured Sylk and her daughter.
* Habataro and Coutaro look at each other.
Hiei- Let’s go get this ball rolling.. Oh, and nobody says or even thinks about my.. special tool.
* Hiei taps his bandana.
Coutaro- Won’t the Coyote know?
Hiei- Hn. That mutt’s lucky he still remembers his own name.
* Habataro nods with a chuckle.
Habataro- Good decision. You’ll need every advantage you can get against that reptile.
* They follow Hiei out of the hut and through the village toward the barrier. Kumataro is seated on a boulder with his arms crossed, gazing through the barrier. Hiei goes over to stand beside him.
Hiei- Kumataro.
Kumataro- Master.
Hiei- So what are they doing?
Kumataro- Camping out in the open. They’re hoping that you’ll notice them.
Hiei- Only those same three again?
Kumataro- Yep. I don’t sense anyone else.
* Kumataro looks away when he notices the soft glow flare up behind Hiei’s ward. Everything is silent for several moments.
Hiei- Hn. Nobody else.
Kumataro- Want me to let them in?
Hiei- Let me explain a couple things to all of you first.
* Kuma gives Hiei his full attention. The Koorime closes his jagan.
Hiei- First off, no tipping them off about my jagan.
Kumataro- Won’t the Coyote..?
* Habataro smacks the back of Hab’s head.
Habataro- Don’t go there.
* Hiei’s temple throbs as Coutaro snickers.
Hiei- Stop the foolishness! I’m not playing games no more! The fleabag only remembers what I want him to remember.. I learned from him that these three intend to use me to kill off Ooshama. Since this is already on my agenda, I’ll have no hesitation in agreeing to do that.
Habataro- But you can’t trust them.
Hiei- Hn. Once I kill Ooshama these three idiots plan on taking me out with an ambush.. Then that Coyote..
Coutaro- Yeah, yeah, yeah. Same old, same old.
* Hiei looks up at Coutaro.
Habataro- It’s been done that way for years.
Hiei- That’s why nothing gets done.. In order for this region to prosper and get the attention of the rest of Demon World someone needs to organize it under strong leadership.
Kumataro- If anyone could do that it’s you, Master.
* Hiei looks back up at Kumataro.
Hiei- My only goal is to make this region a safer place for our offspring to grow up in.. Power and prestige mean nothing to me.. Neither does wealth.. As a matter of fact, the only thing that means anything to me right now is killing that b------ Ooshama.. He had the nerve to capture Sylk and Eboni.
* Kumataro growls.
Kumataro- Do you see that Rat demon out there?
Hiei- Hn. His name is..
Kumataro- Asmaroth.. It was his clan that killed my mate. Darieth’s mother.
* Hiei places a hand on Kuma’s chest.
Hiei- I’ll allow you to take your revenge on him in due time.
* Just then Minoro hurries over.
Minoro- Master Hiei!
* Hiei looks up at Minoro quickly.
Hiei- Which one?
Minoro- Mother.
Hiei- Hn. I figured she’d come soon.. I’ll be up in a moment.
* Hiei looks back through the barrier. Minoro leaps back the way he came.
Hiei- Cou.
Coutaro- Sir?
Hiei- Go out there and tell them that I’ll meet with them tomorrow. When I’m ready. Tell them that if they attempt to breach the barrier before that Ooshama will be the least of their concerns.
* He looks up at Coutaro.
Hiei- Tell them that, word for word, and no more. Then get back in here.
* Coutaro nods. As he moves toward the barrier Hiei blinks off toward his main cave.
