Scene 7 -------- The Next Morning
* Almost simultaneously, the three Lynx brothers come out of their huts and stretch in the early morning sunshine. After a moment, Habataro and Kumataro glance at each other sniffing. Coutaro is too busy continuing his stretching to notice his two brothers following their noses over to him until they begin snuffling at his chest. Coutaro takes a step back.
Coutaro- Excuse me?
Habataro- Is he still asleep in there?
Coutaro- He..?
Kumataro- We can smell Master Hiei all over you..
Habataro- Is he still asleep?
* Coutaro sighs.
Coutaro- Alright, back off.. He came by yesterday.. for a.. few hours..
Kumataro- A few hours?! D---, Cou.
Habataro- He must've wore you out.
Coutaro- No, in fact.. It turns out that he's entering his stage of heat..
* Habataro slaps his forehead and Kuma growls. Coutaro looks between the two puzzled.
Habataro- S---! We forgot to warn you..
Kumataro- What did you do, Coutaro!?
* Kumataro reaches up to grab one of Coutaro's tufted ears. Coutaro smacks his hand away with a growl of his own.
Coutaro- D---, you know how that hurts, Twin! But it really hurts worse that you two don't trust me!
* Coutaro starts to turn away to go back into his hut, but Habataro stops him.
Habataro- Just calm down and tell us what happened.
Coutaro- I gave him a blowjob until he passed out.. When he woke up a couple hours later I told him to go find his gelding.
* Habataro sighs. Coutaro yanks loose from his grasp and starts off again.
Kumataro- Alright, Cou. We're sorry..
Coutaro- You sure are!
* Coutaro changes his direction to leave in another direction.
Habataro- Where are you going?
Coutaro- Master Hiei left me with orders to release that Crow now.. And I follow orders.
* Habataro and Kumataro follow after their brother. When they enter Dagon's hut they find him in his full demon Crow form, preening his feathers on the kitchen table. The Lynx brothers look at the futon where the chain that held Dagon still lays. Dagon lifts off the table and flies over to the futon. Habataro crosses his arms when the Crow places one of his feet back in the ring and switches back to his normal humanoid form. Dagon relaxes on an elbow and grins up at them.
Dagon- Oops. You caught me.
* Coutaro shakes his head and waves a hand.
Coutaro- Whatever. Master Hiei said that we can release you now.
Dagon- Release me?
Habataro- Yes. You're free to go wherever you want.
Dagon- But I was just starting to feel at home here in this cozy, little hut.
* Hab shrugs.
Habataro- Then keep it.. But if you cause any trouble..
* Dagon stands to sniff toward Coutaro.
Habataro- In this village.. I will deal with you.
* Dagon cocks an eyebrow toward Habataro.
Dagon- Perhaps I would enjoy letting you punish me.
* Coutaro rolls his eyes and turns to leave.
Coutaro- He's a full-blooded Crow alright.
* Dagon looks toward Kumataro next. He shifts his fettered leg momentarily so he can be free of the shackle.
Habataro- We're not interested in any birds.. in that manner.
Dagon- Hmm.. Well, I'm a bit old and stringy I'm afraid.. But if you'd still like to eat me..
Kumataro- Oh please.. Just take a long trip somewhere.
* Kumataro follows his brothers out. Dagon follows them to the door.
Dagon- feel free to visit anytime, boys!
Coutaro- Don't count on it!
* The brothers continue off, grumbling at each other about their new guest. Dagon looks around, then begins to stroll down the road the other way. He soon stops the next demon he passes.
Dagon- Morning, I'm Dagon..
Roqueyo- Yeah. We know all about you.. I'm Roqueyo. Habataro's Alpha mate. I'll thank you to remove your hand before you lose it.
* Dagon quickly releases the fiesty female.
Dagon- Pleasure to meet you.. Master Hiei has said that I'm free to leave the hut now.
Roqueyo- Good for you. Good-bye.
* She starts to continue on her way, carrying a large basket of bread toward her hut.
Dagon- Wait.. He was wanting to see me this morning.. Where might I find him?
* Roqueyo shifts the basket to her other hip as she turns to study Dagon a moment, then she motions toward the mountain.
Roqueyo- There's a ravine guarded by dangerous Kitsune plants over there.. If you wait near the plants he'll be around to meet you when he's ready.
* Dagon nods and bows.
Dagon- Thank you so very much, Ma'am.. Mr. Habataro is a very lucky man.
* Roqueyo rolls her eyes and continues off murmurring about the annoying traits of bird demons. Dagon grins and lifts the small loaf he'd pilfered from Roqueyo's basket to begin munching on it. He turns and continues toward the mountain, greeting the various busy demons he passes as politely as he can. When Dagon finally reaches the plant barrier he hears the plants rustle ominously. He raises a hand to rub his chin.
Dagon- Hmm.. Kitsune plants can be a bit nasty.. Unless one can fly.
* Dagon switches back into his Crow form and takes to the air. Lily's plants begin shooting tendrils up to grab him, but Dagon easily dodges them and wings his way further into the ravine.
