Blind Date
Yeah, sorry to those who got confused. I forgot to put in that since Kurama and his mother were so close, she was given a key to his apartment and free will to come and go as she pleases... This next chapter might have Kurama trying to revoke that right though.
I also apologize for this chapter. It does the stereotypical annoying girl continuasly trying to get into Kurama's pants, but I was getting lazy and just trying to find a way to end the story, and at the time, this was the best that I could do. *Shrugs and sighs*

Chapter 7: Blind Date
*****
“Noon?” Kurama tried to get out of bed, but there was a small half ice demon attached to his waist, “Hiei, Baby, you’re going to have to let me go,” click, “Don’t come in Mother. I’m not dressed.”
“Okay, I’ll wait in the living room, sweetheart,” she replied closing the door behind her.
“Hi-Hiei, stop that, my, ah, mother’s here,” Kurama's voice caught in his throat as the youkai nipped at his chest. Finally pulling free, Kurama jumped out of bed and was in the shower for a few minutes before he rushed back into the bedroom, dressed, kissed his love, and was out the door in no more than ten minutes.
“I’ll be back in a soon,” the red head shouted before closing the door behind him and his mother, cursing himself immediately.
“Who were you talking to?” Shiori asked as the two made their way down the apartment stairway, “Oops, did I pull you away from your lady friend in your room?”
“No, of course not, kaasan,” Kurama's cheeks turned as red as his hair, “I-I was just saying ‘bye’ to my plants.”
“Uh-huh,” she nodded sarcastically, “I hope she isn’t one of your students,” she joked with a slight giggle.
“Kaasan, that’s not funny,” now his cheeks were even redder than his hair.
“Oh, I’m just kidding, Shu-Kun,” she smiled as they made their way to the outside into the devilishly bright sun.
“Where do you want to go to lunch today?”
“So how have things been at home?” Shuuichi took a sip of his tea.
“Fine, Shu-Chan will be graduating third highest in his class, and your step father has recently earned a raise at work,” Shiori smiled, looking around the quaint restaurant which she had chosen a little too quickly, nervously.
“Is there someone that you’re trying to find?”
“Well, um, yes, actually, and, ah, here she is now.”
She? This can not go well.
Possibly the most perfectly shaped woman walked into the restaurant. Beautiful black hair in two long braids that fell to her slim waist, and her bright blue eyes slightly hidden by long bangs. Her black knee length skirt showed just enough of her long legs to be sexy, but not smutty, and a fitted baby blue shirt did the same for her voluptuous bosom.
“Hello,” she gave a perfectly bright white smile, bowing politely to Shiori, “Sorry, I’m late. I had to help with an emergency operation after a large car accident.”
“Ah, Kira San,” Shiori stood to return the bow, “No, don’t worry. You’re just on time. I asked you here to meet my son, Shuuichi. Shuuichi, this is Kira, she is a nurse from the hospital I was staying at when I was sick.”
“It’s nice to meet you,” Shuuichi stood to bow a little to the woman just as his mother had done, but he didn’t get a good feeling from this girl.
“Now, I want you to sit here,” Shiori led the girl to her seat, “and I want you two to get to better acquainted. Meanwhile, I have to go get a few things from the market,” she gave her son a quick wink before walking away quickly.
Uh-oh…
“So, Shuuichi San…” the pretty girl smiled sweetly, “Your mother tells me that you’re a teacher… What do you teach?”
“I teach high school math,” he smiled nervously.
“Really? Actually, I was never any good in math… You know, I wanted to be a teacher too,” she shifted playing with one of her long braids.
“Oh, yeah?” he asked barely paying attention, “What did you want to teach?”
“I was hoping for junior high school science,” her leg kicked a little too far forward, and brushed against the dark khaki pants, Kurama had thrown on that morning, “Did you really want to be a teacher?”
“Sort of,” he moved his leg just out of her reach, “I was always helping my classmates, so I guess the habit just stuck through college.”
“Do you have any rebellious teenagers that you have to deal with? I hear those are getting to be a real problem,” her leg brushed against his again, and then started to rub up and down his.
“There was one… but I managed to tame him a little,” he smirked at how Hiei had acted like such a punk when they first met.
“Oh?” she took the smile as him flirting with her, and took one of his hands.
“Um,” he took the hand away, “I’m sorry, but-”
“Minamino Sensei,” a familiar husky voice called out from the now wide eyed red head.
“Hiei!” Kurama swirled around to meet the red eyes, which were burning with amazing anger at him and the dark haired woman.
Taking the seat next to the teacher, and started elbowing him in the side, “Who’s the b-abe,” obviously not his first choice of words.
“Oh, Hiei, this is… um…” Crap what’s her name again?
“Kira,” she bowed a little to the little boy, offering a slightly annoyed look. Whether it was at Shuuichi being unable to remember her name, or their new tablemate that annoyed her was unknown, nor did Hiei care.
“Right, Kira. Kira this is Hiei,” he introduced the pissed off boy with black spiky hair.
“So, sensei, you on a date or something?” Hiei’s voice seethed with rage, his eyes narrowed at the flustered red head.
“Not exa-”
“Excuse me little boy, but I believe that your teacher and I were having an adult conversation.”
“Oh, really?” Hiei didn’t take his eyes off of his fox.
“Well, you see…”
“Are you this personal with all of your student?”
“Uh, no, not real-”
“He is with me. He’s helping me to get out of the orphanage as soon as possible,” Hiei smirked.
Oh no, this is definitely not good.
“You are?” the girl’s voice was so annoyingly filled with such admiration that both boys winced, “That’s so sweet,” she smiled, reaching over the table to grab Shuuichi’s in both of hers.
Hiei let out a low growl at the pretty girl who he had instantly hated as Kurama tried desperately to get his hand free from the girl without hurting her, but she held him in an iron grip.
“Um, could you let go of my hand, please?” he said as politely as possible.
“I leave you alone for an hour…” Hiei whispered gruffly.
“It’s not my fault,” Kurama defended himself, still trying to get his hand free, “Kaasan tricked me.”
“You have very soft hands,” she continued.
“And what exactly were you planning to do with her?” Hiei demanded.
“Nothing, I swear.”
“That is such a beautiful necklace you have. Where did you get it?” she cooed.
“Huh? What?” the red head finally turned his focus on the woman who was still trying to win him over.
“The necklace, it’s gorgeous. Where did it come from?” she reached out a little to touch it, but Kurama pulled away.
“Oh, it’s, um… I got it…”
“Go ahead, teach, tell her,” Hiei devilishly grinned.
“One of my ex’s gave it to me.”
“That was low,” Hiei’s eyes narrowed.
“Then why do you still wear it?”
“Because… I still love the person with all my heart,” he managed to get his hands away from the girl to slip one over the deep red gem, and the other under the table to Hiei’s smaller hands, to hold them in reassurance.
“Oh, I am so sorry, but you know, their loss is my gain,” she smiled leaning forward so that Kurama could get a better view of her chest as she reached over to take the soft, pale hand that had been wrapped around the gem.
“What?” Hiei nearly shouted at Kira, warning the girl that if she didn’t back off soon, she would find herself burnt to a crisp.
“Hiei,” Kurama whispered to his lover, “Calm down.”
“You don’t act like teacher and student,” she narrowed her bright blue eyes at the two, “What’s really going on?”
“Actually, Hiei’s an old student, he graduated a while ago.”
“Oh, so what are you now? Just friends?”
“No,” Hiei growled, about ready to rip the head off of the woman, “actually, we’re-”
Luckily at that moment Shiori entered the restaurant holding a few bags of food, to see her son sitting across from the girl who was suppose to be his date with a short boy with spiky black hair, but mostly noticed that Kira and Shuuichi were holding hands.
“Oh, I’m so glad that you two are hitting it off so well,” she took the seat next to the long haired beauty, and turned to Hiei, “Hi there. What’s your name?”
“This is Hiei, an old student of mine,” the hand under the table squeezed the smaller hand again, while his other hand squirmed to get free. In the most polite voice, he added, “And, no, I’m sorry, but this isn’t going to work right now, I have too much going on in my life, and I don’t have time for a relationship.” He stood, barely remembering to let go of Hiei’s hand, to bow, “I’m sorry,” and left, leaving Hiei with Kira and Shiori.
Hiei shrugged and walked out the door following his lover.
***
Kurama and Hiei walked down the street, their arms brushing lightly against one another every now and then. Somehow they found themselves in a secluded part of the park a few blocks away from Kurama's apartment. The couple sat on a bench hidden by large bushes and trees.
“Why did you come?” Kurama took Hiei’s hand again, leaning on him slightly.
“I wanted to meet your mother,” Hiei almost laughed, “It’s a good thing I did, that woman was all over you.”
“Yes, she was. Mother has interesting taste in the women she thinks I should date.”
“No, that woman was two faced… When she was with your mother, she would be kind and polite and do what ever she could to make her think she would be good for you… I think she had seen you visiting your mother a few times and thought that it would be nice to meet you through your mom…”
“How do you know that?”
“Hn, she was easy to read, but even you had to be able to tell she was a slut.”
“You were definitely with those high school kids for way too long,” Kurama laughed.
“That was your fault, Fox.”
“Mine?”
“Yes, you didn’t even notice that you had a demon in the back of your class room for the past year… I couldn’t believe that I had to come out to you.”
“That, again? Well, I haven’t had to deal with any demons besides you for the past 25 years,” Kurama tried to defend himself, “And the last time I did I was attacked by a certain short bad tempered demon who tried to kill me.”
“Let’s not dwell on the past,” Hiei wrapped his arms around the other boy’s slim waist, pulling their bodies as close together as possible.
“How are your wounds?” Kurama breathed in the pine smell, burying his nose in the bristly hair.
“Maybe you should check them again,” Hiei suggested seductively, twisting in the long lithe arms so that they were facing each other, and tilted his head a little so that they could share a sweet kiss.
“Did you really want to meet my mother?”
“Not as your ‘old student,’ but yes.”
“Hm, sorry about that… I would have told her, but we were out in the open and I didn’t want to embarrass her if she didn’t accept the idea of you and me being in love,” he pressed their noses together.
“Mm-hm…” Hiei pressed their lips together again.
'See? I told you they were a couple.'
