Unlikely Lovers Become Unlikely Fathers

A/N: Beware of mistakes. This chap has not been edited, I was in a major hurry to finish it and post it.

"I'm not going out there!"

"Yes you are."

"I am not going to leave this room after Rinku and Chu saw us doing..."

"Rinku is old enough to know to knock first, he is at fault not us."

"I don't care I'm not goin' out there. And you can't make me." Cerulean eyes glared down at a pair of calm and cool crimson orbs.

"Fine." Hiei shrugged, acting as if he didn't care one way or the other.

Kuwabara paused, instantly wary. One couldn't be mated to a demon without being alert for constant traps. "What do you mean fine?"

"Rinku thinks highly of you... " The demon let his words sink in. "And Yukina is here..." Again he paused. "And Botan baked a cake... "

"Let's go... Uh, Hiei?"

"Hmm?"

"Could you kinda help me up?"

Hiei smirked as he stood, pulling his mate up after him.

Hiei led Kuwabara into the livingroom, keeping one hand on his lover's arm to keep him steady. Which was a really good thing.

"SURPRISE!"

Kuwabara made a very undignified noise, which sounded something like eep, and clutched his chest with his free hand.

"What the?!"

"We're throwing you a Baby-shower Kazuma-kun." Yukina smiled softly at her brother-in-law.

The ninjen's eyes widened as he took in the scene. Jin, Chu, and Rinku all had party hats on, their hands filled with a variety of noise makers. Yusuke and Keiko were curled up at one end of the couch, leaving the other end for Kurama and Yukina. Shizuru was on the floor, a very happy Botan draped all over her. Genkai and Touya stood off to the side, their smiles evident. Last, Koenma sat in a chair, Aikichi happily purring in his lap.

The first thing Kuwabara did... was cry, which immediately sent Hiei into a near panic as he dabbed at his mate's eyes.

"Hush Kuwa. Come on, sit down." Gently he lead his lover to a pile cushions which sat beside a pile of gifts.

"Stupid Hormones." Kuwaba sniffed.

"Baka Ninjen." Hiei wiped his mate's tears away, his tone soothing.

Everyone stared dumbfounded. They had never seen Hiei so gentle.

"Would ya look at that." Chu muttered.

The others nodded in agreement, still shocked... Until Hiei gave them a glance and growled.

"It's okay nii-chan." Yukina smiled at her brother. "We're all family."

Kuwabara stopped sniffing and smiled back. "Thank you Yukina-chan." He blushed slightly. "We decided to name the baby after you."

Yukina's smile became brighter, and she bowed slightly from her seat on the couch. "It's an honor Kazuma-kun."

"Come on!" Rinku exclaimed excitedly. "Presents!"

Hiei glanced at the boy, one brow raised in question. Rinku immeadiately blushed and quieted. The fire demon smirked.

"Go on and open your presents Kuwabara, then we can eat the cake Botan made." Aikichi grinned, her kitty fangs showing.

Koenma shook his head. "You don't even like cake, you just want the ice cream Yukina brought."

Crimson eyes were drawn to the doorway which lead to the kitchen. "Ice cream..."

Kuwabara read the expression on Hiei's face. "Presents first, ice cream later."

The small demon gave his lover a look that was close to a pout, but nodded in agreement. And then just to be naughty he channeled a lovely little vision to his mate. One that involved afore mentioned ice cream. Kuwabara merely smirked and shook his head.

"Later. The gifts come first."

Now scowling, Hiei reached for the first present and handed the wrapped package to the ninjen.

"That's from us!" Botan giggling and wiggling trying to get comfortable in Shizuru's lap.

"Would you be still?" Shizuru grumbled.

Kuwabara looked at the innocent appearance of the gift in his hands. "Now I'm afraid to open it." But despite his words he tore the paper off, carefully I might add, and turned red when he saw the box.

"What is it?" Hiei asked, his red-hot eyes portraying a look of confusion. He'd never seen such a thing.

"It's a breast pump!" Botan exclaimed. "That way when the baby starts using a bottle Kuwabara can still use his own milk."

"Okay, next present." Kuwabara hastily put the breast pump aside, determined to forget about it. Maybe it would get mixed in with the wrapping paper and dissapear.

Hiei handed him the next package. It was wrapped in paper that pictured many manly studs posing in near nakedness. Kuwabara tried not to blush and ripped the paper away from the small box as fast as he could. But when he saw what lay under the paper he almost wished he'd left it on.

"That'd be from me." Chu said proudly. "Ya never know when you'll need it."

"Viagra?!" Kuwabara asked.

Chu shrugged. "Save it for a rainy day."

The redhead placed the second present next to the first, while Hiei reached for the third.

"Before I open it, who's it from?" Kuwabara asked, almost afraid to take the blue package.

"That one's from me. No need ta worry Kuwabara. It's a proper gift." Jin smiled reasurringly, which didn't really make Kuwabara feel much better.

But, being polite he took the gift from Hiei and unwrapped it. And he nearly succeeded in not cooing over the cute blue baby outfit.

"Thanks Jin."

"Donna mention it."

Hiei handed him the next present, after he draped the outfit over his leg.

Kuwabara looked around the room as he accepted the gift. "Who's this one from?"

"Me." Touya said quietly, smiling gently.

Kuwabara nodded and unwrapped the present. It was pink and nearly identical to the baby outfit Jin had picked out. But it was pink.

"Here now, what were ya thinkin' Touya? No little boy is gunna wear pink." Jin asked.

"It could be a girl." Touya huffed.

"It's gunna be a boy." Jin frowned.

"I'm not having this argument with you Jin. We have no control over the child's gender." Touya sniffed and proceeded to ignore Jin's glaring.

Kuwabara sweatdropped and Hiei handed him the next gift, both hoping to prevent a fight between the two shinobi.

"That's from me." Yusuke mumbled around a yawn, which earned him an elbow in the ribs from Keiko. "Ouch! Hey what was that for?"

"Don't be rude."

Yusuke smirked. "I thought you liked it when I was rude."

Keiko elbowed him again. "Yusuke!" But this time a faint blush dusted her cheeks, which made Yusuke grin even more.

"I'm opening Urameshi's gift now." Kazuma announced and he tore the green paper away, hoping to quell any and all imaged of Yusuke and Keiko being kinky. He just didn't need that right now.

"Training weights?" Hiei nodded in agreement.

"What's a girl going to do with traing weights?" Touya asked.

"I thought ya said we had no control over the gender Touya." Jin smirked.

"Hush you." Touya blushed in embarresment.

"Thanks Urameshi, any kid of ours is definately gonna be a fighter." Kuwabara grinned at his best friend.

"No problem."

There was one present left, and it wasn't wrapped.

"That's from Keiko, we couldn't figure out how to wrap the damn thing." Yusuke snickered.

"Sorry about that." Keiko smiled. "But it makes a better statement as it is anyway."

Kuwabara nodded in agreement. The large basket full of stuffed animals would have been a challenge for any wrapper. "Don't worry about it, it's great."

"Is that it?" Hiei asked, still thinking of the ice cream in the kitchen.

"No, wait. There's still our present!" Aikichi sprang up from her seat in Koenma's lap and dashed out of the room, only to return with another basket.

"More toys?" Hiei asked.

"No, the baby will need some playmates, ones that will be hard to kill so when I found these little guys I knew they'd be perfect." She set the basket next to Kazuma and pulled a small kitten into view.

Hiei leaned closer, catching the scent of the kitten that Aikichi handed to Kuwabara. "They're Youkai."

"Aikichi." Kuwabara growled. "I thought we agreed on no more talking kittens."

Aikichi sighed. "They're different from me, this is the only form they'll ever have. And they can't talk."

The fire demon peered into the basket, catching a glimpse of three more balls of fur. "Four?"

"Sorry about that, I couldn't bring myself to seperate them... They're orphans."

"Thanks Aikichi." Kuwabara pulled his former pet into a brief hug. "Thanks a lot."

"Are there anymore gifts?" Hiei asked.

"Nope, that was it." Yusuke smiled.

"All right Hiei, help me up and we'll go eat some ice cream." Kuwabara rolled his eyes. "Hope our kid doesn't inherit your sweet tooth."

Hiei ignored his lover's comment and helped him up before dragging him to the kitchen. Then dragged him back out, ice cream in tow and dissappeared into their room.

Everyone sweat-dropped.

"Yukina, did you bring more than one bucket of ice cream?" Koenma asked.

"Yes."

"Good, because I don't think we'll be seeing that particular bucket again." Kurama smiled.

A/N: Aiee! Don't hurt me! I'm sorry I haven't updated in so long! I was gone for a month visiting family and friends back home in Ky. Then there was Christmas and my Dad got to come in for a few days, he get's shipped to Iraq in a few weeks. And my Father died New Years eve. Then I had to come back to Fl. God, I miss Ky already, and I've only been back a couple of days.

On the bright side, my Mom as corrupted me even more! She now knows about the stuff I write and is okay with it. ^ ^ But it gets better. She actually took me to Tattoo Charlies to get my first tattoo! I now have Kangi on the back of my left shoulder! I got the symbol for writing. *grins*

And she introduced me to alcohol. *snickers* I got tipsy New Years Eve. Two Wine Coolers, two glasses of wine, and eggnog and spiced rum. That wine was some strong stuff. It was homemade and had been aging 20 years. Brought the last jar back to Fl with me. *grins*

Well, that's all for now. I think the big day will be in the next chapter. And I've gotta bit of a surprise planned for that... Unless of course you're like Shiko and have already guessed it. ^_^
