Chapter Seven
*Chapter Seven*
Kurama walked into the room where he would have his check-up. He picked up a magazine and flipped through it. The article he stopped on when Yuske walked through the door was about “Teen Pregnancy.” “Good afternoon Kurama. How are you feeling?” Kurama placed the magazine on his lap and shook Yuske’s hand. “I’m feeling alright, just a little nauseous today.” “Really?” Yuske placed latex gloves on his hands. He took Kurama’s blood pressure, checked his heart rate and had Kurama lay down on his back. “Please spread your legs.” Kurama moved his legs apart and pulled the hospital gown up a little so that Yuske could see what he was doing. He tried to relax as Yuske felt around his vagina. Yuske removed his gloves and tossed them in the trash. “So, have you and Hiei had sex recently?” Kurama closed his legs and sat up. “Yes.” “When?” Kurama raised an eyebrow. “Earlier today. Why?” Yuske handed Kurama a small box. “I think that you may be pregnant.” Kurama’s eyes widened and he shook his head. “Are you certain?” Yuske pointed to the box he gave Kurama. “Check and make sure. In a few days I want you to use that Home Pregnancy Test and come back here for a final result.” Kurama was shocked. “But I only had sex one time since the operation.” Yuske smiled. “Once is all it takes. Hiei must have strong semen to have made it to your one egg in such a short amount of time.” He giggled while Kurama glared at him. “That’s not funny. I’m too young to have a child.” Yuske placed a hand on Kurama’s shoulder. “I could be wrong. You might just have a case of gas.” Kurama smiled at Yuske’s attempt to cheer him up. “You could always have an abortion.” Kurama quickly looked at Yuske with sad eyes. “Never. I won’t take a child’s life even if I can’t support it.” “Okay. Sorry for mentioning it.” Yuske thought for a short while before offering another option. “How about adoption? That way you will have the child, but someone else can take care of the child and give it a nice home.” Kurama’s frown softened and he looked down again. “I’m going to have to talk to Hiei. I hope he is okay with me having a child.” “I’m sure he’ll be fine. He loves you and will support your decision. Whatever it may be.” Yuske helped Kurama off of the table. “I’ll leave you to dress.” Yuske left the room and stood behind the door while Kurama dressed. Kurama slowly put on his clothes and opened the door. He smiled when seeing Yuske. “I’ll be back in a few days.” Yuske patted Kurama’s arm. “Take care Kurama.” Kurama nodded and walked out into the waiting room where Hiei was waiting for him. He greeted Hiei with a quick kiss and walked with him out of the hospital. They held hands, fingers intertwined, as they walked through the streets to their house. Hiei broke the silence. “Are you hungry?” Kurama was so lost in thought that he hadn’t heard Hiei. “Kurama?” Hiei squeezed Kurama’s hand and saw him slowly look at him. “Are you okay Greeneyes?” Kurama smiled. “Yeah. What is it that you wanted baby?” Hiei shook his head. “Just wanted to know if you wanted to grab a bite to eat. You must be hungry.” In reality Kurama was starving. He hadn’t eaten for a week. No reason why, only that he couldn’t help thinking about the incident at the club. His mind raced as images from that’s night flashed into his head. Suddenly he thought about what happened at the hospital. They walked to a small restaurant. Hiei walked Kurama to a table and sat him down. He could tell that Kurama was too lost in thought to talk. “May I help you two?” The waitress asked as she looked at Kurama and Hiei. Hiei frowned at Kurama’s blank expression. “Give us a minute please.” “Sure.” The waitress walked to another table to take their order. Hiei reached out and touched Kurama’s hands that were resting on the table. “Greeneyes, are you okay? You’ve barely spoken since we left the hospital. What’s bothering you?” Kurama looked into Hiei’s worried eyes. “Ink tnk that I’m pregnant.” “What? Are you sure?” Hiei said in shock. Kurama’s eyes started to water. “Yuske says that he’s pretty sure, but to make sure I have to go back in a few days.” Hiei didn’t know how to react. “Let’s go home and talk about this.” Hiei said comfortingly. He picked Kurama up and carried him out of the restaurant so fast that all the people felt was wind as he ran by. Hiei could feel Kurama gently sobbing against his chest as he held him close. ‘Don’t worry Kurama, we’ll work something out. I know how much you humans care for your young.’ He continued to dash through the streets carrying his lover in his arms. When they arrived at their house, Hiei jumped up and entered the house through the window. The window he jumped through was the one to their bedroom. He sat Kurama down, still in his arms, on top of his lap. He gently rocked Kurama back and forth while he stroked his red hair. Kurama’s tears slowly stopped as sleep swept over him from all of his crying. Hiei continued to rock Kurama until his heartbeat slowed, and he knew that Kurama was asleep. He laid Kurama under the sheet and joined him on the other side facing him. He kissed Kurama’s forehead and placed the small box that Kurama was holding onto the nightstand. He watched his kitsune sleep quietly. “Tomorrow we’ll talk about this.”
