Confessions

A/N All characters here belong to Yu Yu Hakusho's makers and producers. I have no claim to any. Even though Shaleeza/Kaletta is not my own fully, just name and storyline. Hope you all enjoy it. I hope I enjoy writing it. It would also seem that I am going OOC on alot of them. I'm not trying too, but hey, it's happening. This is a short paragraph, but I hope it explains some things. Thanks for all the reviews I have gotten. Got some stuff going on in my life here that suck, so I hope to escape it once in a bit to write this. Got another story forming in my head, watch for that soon.

Hiei lay on the living room floor, staring at his wife. She slept beside him, curled up on his arm. They now lay on the thick rug in front of the fireplace. They were covered with a thin blanket, but completely naked after a long night of lovemaking. Even thinking about the nights activities was enough to get him hard again. She stirred against him, not waking. He gazed into the fire, still burning slightly as he reflected on the last years. When had he ever felt this complete in that time? He inhaled deeply again and caught a curious scent. It smelled like flowers. Roses to be exact. He gently moved away from Kaletta and stood up. The cool air caused his skin to get goosebumps and he quickly reached for his pants, pulling them on. He looked down at his wife again with a slight smile and left the house.

Kurama sat on the front steps, lost in thought. He knew Hiei and Kaletta were inside, but he didn't want to disturb their sleep this late at night, if they were even sleeping at all. Hiei slipped out of the door silently, Kurama lost in thought not even realizing he was there. "Kurama". Kurama jumped at the sound of Hiei's voice and turned to look at his friend.

Hiei stepped next to Kurama and sat next to him on the stairs. "What do you want?"

"Just thinking. It is odd that you found her today... well, yesterday that is. On the day she was taken from you." Hiei nodded slightly. "You want to know why I never mentioned her as well." Kurama was silent for awhile. "Only if you want to reveal it to me."

Hiei stared for a long time into space. "Have you ever been unsure of who you are?" Kurama nodded. "Kaletta was my world, Kurama. Losing her was like losing a part of my life. Finding her was my all consuming goal for 153 years. I was like a man possessed. I am scared of that now...."

Kurama was silent for awhile, thinking. "Afraid that you might become consumed with her again now that she is here?"

Hiei nodded. "I love the woman, she is bearing my son as well. But the life I have built since I gave up my search was never meant to include her. I like who I have became, especially after the Jagan was put in. I desire the distance I have from people now. It is a comfort to be able to be apart from the others and not have to worry if what I say and do offends them, because they will think "Oh, that's just Hiei" and not give it another thought."

He sighed and looked back at the house where Kaletta slept. "Now I have this woman in my life again. My life feels complete again with her near me, a calm feeling in my soul has been renewed. It's only her first day back and I'm already at war with myself over if I want to renew our relationship as it was before or if I want to press for new boundaries. I would feel like a total bastard if I asked her to accept that I have become a loner since we were last together. She was put through this due to something I had done. But, I can't be happy with myself if I continue to live for her and her alone." His voice faded off and Kurama wondered if Hiei even knew that he was there any more. He had never heard Hiei voice his feelings before yesterday. It was a unique experience.

Kurama sighed softly "Giving her up is not an option I take it?"

Hiei looked sharply at his friend and shook his head "No, giving her up will never be an option. Even if she wasn't carrying my son, I would not willingly give her up." Kurama nodded, "Then in that case, my friend, I say give it a bit more time. Spend the next few days with her, get to know each other again. Make love repeatedly, get that out of your system. Then sit her down and tell her what you have done in the past years that you have not had her around. Explain to her who the person you became, because of her disappearance and after you gave up, really is. If she truely loves you, she will understand. You never know, maybe she will wish to have her space as well. Don't short change her though, Hiei, she risked her life to save you yesterday, even though you and I both know that it was not needed."

Hiei nodded slightly, staring out at the forest beyond the clearing the house was located at. He sat for a long time, him and Kurama. They were silent as the night wore on, both lost in thought over the events of the last day. Both were startled when Kaletta's soft voice came from behind. "Hiei are you ok? Oh, Kurama, welcome. Would the two of you like breakfast?"

Both turned to look at Kaletta, wearing the simple gown she had gotten at Genkai's again. Kurama was surpised to see deep sadness in her deep emerald eyes. Hiei had noticed the sadness also, plus the signs of tears on her face. She quickly turned back into the house, leaving them there on the front porch, staring after her.
