Disclaimer:
I do not own Yuyu Hakusho or Inuyasha. I make no money from this written work. It is for entertainment value, nothing more.
Ch. 6
AN: I was watching Yuyu Hakusho and a thought occurred to me while Yusuke was being kicked around by Sensui. It's pretty ridiculous that all these grown men go out of their way to beat on a middle school student. Yusuke is only about 12 when the series starts. What the hell is wrong with Koenma? He's really a horrible person sending a preteen to fight monsters. Kurama is in high school and super old on the inside, Hiei is a grown demon, and Kuwabara chose to join in and help. Yusuke was press-ganged into service on penalty of death. He dies doing something good and is told he can have a second chance at life. He wants to say no, but is guilted into accepting. Then he has to pass tests to earn that chance he didn't want in the first place, then, when he comes back, Spirit world is all, 'you get to work for us!' He tries to say no and they are all, 'work for us or you can be dead again.' On his first mission, he nearly dies 4 times. On his second mission he is bribed into doing it and then nearly dies and doesn't get his reward.
Sorry for the wait... i got really busy cleaning and organizing the house before my husband gets back from Bahrain.
Kit-kit: I know it seems like their relationship is moving quickly, but that's because their demonic instincts are driving them.
Chapter 6
Kurama looks around the sitting room for the suit of room really taking in their surroundings this time. There wasn't much furniture, just a low table with cushions around it, a lounge chair in the corner next to a shelf filled with scrolls and a few high school text book that didn't seem to fit in at all, and a desk in another corner with some sketches piled on it. Hiei walks up to the sketches and looks through them to see they are pictures done in the same style at the designs on the doors. He finds one that matches the door to the dojo. "Did you draw these," he asks.
"Well," he says crossing his arms and looking away, "I had to figure out what I was gonna paint on the walls and doors some how didn't I?"
Kurama looks to the intricate murals on two of the doors, seeing that the walls are strangely blank in comparison. "You painted those yourself?" He moves to the door to the garden inspecting the scene of a young woman in simple kimono leaning into a huge two tailed cat, a monk laughing, and a young girl in a school uniform with a small fox kit curled in her lap lounging in the shade of a sakura tree with flower petals blowing in the wind, Inuyasha sitting in the branches looking down at them. "This is exquisite. Who were they?"
"They were my old pack. The only ones left now are me, Shippo, and Kilala. Speaking of which I wonder where she got off to." Inuyasha goes out into the garden calling, "Kilala! Where are ya? Come on out! I got people for ya to meet!" The cat from the picture suddenly flies down to tackle Inuyasha to the ground pinning him and butting her head into his chest in a demand for attention. Inuyasha laughs scratching the cat behind the ears. The cat purrs and shrinks down to her smaller size in a burst of flames, mewling. Inuyasha holds her to his chest as he gets up. "Kilala, these are my mates," he says talking to her as if she understood everything he said.
The cat regards them with intelligent eyes before hopping down from Inuyasha's arms and onto Hiei's shoulder where she curls into a ball and closes her eyes to rest, her tails wrapped around his neck. Hiei glares down at the cat who opens one eye to glare right back, yawns, and curls back up. "Hn," Hiei grunts and moves to the scene depicted on the doors to the dojo, "Is this a depiction of one of your battles?"
Inuyasha nods, "We barely survived our last battle with Naraku and all his incarnations. And if our allies hadn't helped, we would have most likely lost." Inuyasha proceeds to tell them about his adventures with his pack and the battles he fought. He told them about the people they all met, and the traps they all fell into and how they got out of them. He even told the stories that made him look stupid.
"Your life certainly has been... eventful," Kurama comments at the end of the string of tales.
"Oh... well. Not really. That was just a couple of years when I was young." He pulls Kilala from Hiei's shoulder and places her on the lounge chair in the corner. "Let's head to bed. It's getting late," He says with a grin sauntering into the bedroom. Inuyasha starts getting undressed, tossing his clothes carelessly into a corner.
"You should really take better care of your things, Inuyasha," Kurama admonishes with a leer at the naked inu before him. Inuyasha just shrugs sprawling across the futon watching his mates undress. Kurama and Hiei fold their clothes neatly and place them on a low table near the bed and turn back to an obviously aroused Inuyasha. Kurama grins and sashays to the futon crawling up Inuyasha's body. He grabs Inuyasha by the hair, pulling his face toward his and freezes just before their lips can make contact. Inuyasha's ears twitch toward the closed door hearing a soft giggle followed by hushing noises. Hiei, having just sat down on the edge of the futon, moved to his clothes pulling on his hakama.
Inuyasha groans, "Damn it." He pulls out of Kurama's hold. He grabs his hakama from the floor pulling them on, "They weren't supposed to get back till tomorrow." He heads to the door, "Kurama, you might want to at least put some pants on. I can't keep Shippo's kids distracted forever. Come on out and meet them when you're ready."
Inuyasha slips out of his room closing the door behind him. He looks down at the three kits in the middle of his room and glowers down at them his eyes amused. "What are you three doing sneaking into my rooms at this hour? Have you greeted your parents yet?"
The tallest of the three grinned up at the inu, golden eyes twinkling with mischief. "Uncle Inuyasha, you know if I really wanted to sneak around I wouldn't have brought these two with me." He pauses, running a hand through short, spikey, ginger licks, and sighs dramatically, "Our fathers seemed too busy to greet us. We felt a bit lonely, so we came to see you. You've been gone for so long..." The two smaller kits leap up onto Inuyasha burying their noses in his hair. "We were worried," he finishes looking up at his uncle.
Inuyasha holds the two younger kits to him, smiling softly. "I got a little sidetracked," he says.
One of the kits clinging to him leans back to look him in the eyes, "Where did you go uncle Yasha?" The little silver haired kit sniffs, "You smell funny."
The first one's twin nods, "Yeah. What is that?"
Inuyasha frowns setting the kits down. He sniffs at his own arm and frowns, "I don't smell anything off." The door to the bedroom opens and Kurama and Hiei walk out fully clothed. The two smaller kit's eyes widen and they rush to hide behind their older brother's legs. Inuyasha smiles at his mates. Kurama twines his arms around Inuyasha from behind, while Hiei moves to Inuyasha's side where he's pulled into the inu's arms. "Akinori, Etsuo, Fusao. These are my mates, Kurama and Hiei."
The eldest, Akinori, looks at the three standing before him and smiles. "It's a pleasure to meet you," he says with a bow. Then he pulls his brothers from behind his legs and pushes them forward, "Say hello to our new uncles."
The twins look back at their older brother before moving forward. Two sets of eyes look up at the strangers from identical faces. The green eyed twin, Etsuo, giggles looking up at Hiei, "Why's your hair stick up like that? It looks funny."
Hiei frowns down at the little child, but before he can respond, Kurama interrupts, "Well, little one," he begins, crouching down in front of the young children. "That is a question for the ages. I, myself have wondered how it happens. His hair seems to naturally dry that way."
Fusao, the golden eyed twin reaches out and grabs a lock of Kurama's hair and pulls a seed out of it. "Are you going to make uncle Yasha happy," he asks softly turning the small seed over in his hands.
Kurama gently takes the seed from the boy's hand, "I'll certainly try." He tucks the seed in his hair.
Fusao nods and looks up at Hiei, the same question in his golden orbs. Hiei simply nods. "Good," the boy says solemnly as if holding the two youkai to their word.
"Welcome to the family," Etsuo squeals happily.
Akinori smiles at his younger siblings, "Well, we'd better head to bed." He scoops up the twins and heads for the door, "We'll see you at breakfast!" He left, closing the door behind him.
"Sorry, if that was a bit much," Inuyasha apologizes. "I was really hoping I could warn you before you met Shippo's kits. At least they were well behaved tonight." He nuzzles into Hiei's mating mark, "Shall we return to our bed?"
Hiei turns from the door through which the children left to Kurama, "Can male kitsune bear offspring?" He looks somewhat shocked at the idea.
Kurama smiles softly and moves in to kiss his mate. "Yes, koi." Hiei frowns. "I do not plan on it at this juncture, however."
"You were planning on telling me this when?" Hiei looks peeved.
Kurama sighs, "What does it matter? Kits haven't been and are not a feasible option with how our life has been working out thus far."
Hiei glares up at Kurama, "I deserved to know." He turns to Inuyasha, "And you? Are male inu capable of carrying young?"
Inuyasha frowns, "I don't know. Sesshomaru hasn't ever discussed it with me, and he didn't carry any of their kits, so I just figured it was a weird kitsune thing." He stares at the door out, thinking slightly worriedly about the kits mention of him smelling different. He frowns, "I'll talk to Sessh tomorrow."
Hiei nods and walks past the two into the bedroom. Kurama sighs, "Well there goes the mood." He pulls Inuyasha into the room after Hiei and they all get ready for bed. They arrange themselves with Inuyasha in the middle. Hiei was still upset with Kurama.
The next morning the three woke to a light rap on the outer door. Inuyasha groans getting up and pulling on his hakama on his way to the door. He slides it open to see his brother outside. He gulps running a hand through his hair, "Hey. What's got you all the way over here this early?"
Sesshomaru glances over Inuyasha's shoulder at the two fully clothed youkai emerging from their sleeping quarters, narrowing his eyes slightly at Kurama, before turning his attention back to Inuyasha. "This Sesshomaru has been asked to invite you and your mates to spend time with Shippo and the pups this afternoon." He turns back to Kurama, "Also, this Sesshomaru would request that tricks such as the one played last evening not be repeated in front of my pups, if ever."
"Shippo did put tacks on our seats, Aniki," Inuyasha points out. "I think a little retribution was in order. I'm not sure things would have gone as smoothly if Hiei sat on one."
Sesshomaru nods, "This Sesshomaru understands that tricks are inevitable where kitsune are involved. This Sesshomaru simply asks that tricks that lead to inappropriate behavior in front of the pups be avoided."
Kurama smiles, "I wouldn't have done the same trick if the little ones had been around."
Sesshomaru nods and turns to leave but stops at a hand on his sleeve, "Aniki?"
"Yes?"
Inuyasha shift uncomfortably, "After breakfast, may I talk to you in private?"
Sesshomaru's eyes soften before he nods, "Come to my office." He walks away without another word.
Inuyasha closes the door, and chuckles. "Hey, guys, wanna spar for a while? We have some time before breakfast."
Hiei's eyes light up, "Are you sure your dojo can take it?"
Inuyasha laughs. "Don't worry about the dojo. It's sturdier than you would think." He grabs up his tetsuiga from the corner he tossed it in the previous day and heads into the dojo. Hiei and Kurama follow Inuyasha onto the dojo, somewhat eager to see what their new mate was capable of. Inuyasha grins at them shoving his tetsuiga through the waist of his hakama. He flexes his claws, "Don't hold back," he warns and dashes forward swiping playfully at Kurama's chest simultaneously kicking out to the side at Hiei's head. Both youkai leap back in surprise at the sudden, vicious attack. Kurama glances down at the long slashes through his shirt pulling out his rose whip. Hiei draws his katana with a grin.
They battle it out for a while Inuyasha gathering nasty cuts from his mate's weapons. Then he leaps at Kurama pinning him down with a clawed hand around his throat. Hiei leaps forward slashing at his exposed back with his katana. Inuyasha turns slashing out seemingly at the empty air and shouts, "Blades of Blood!" Glowing red blades slash through the air at an airborne Hiei. Kurama's eye widen slightly at Inuyasha's use of his own blood as a weapon. Hiei dodges the worst of it, getting a deep cut on his leg. He lands on his good leg with a wince. Inuyasha grins down at Kurama playfully, "Say uncle."
Kurama laughs, "Uncle."
"Good, cuz we gotta get cleaned up for breakfast." He stands helping Kurama up and moves over to Hiei. "Let me see," he says softly kneeling down next to Hiei and sliding the fabric of his pants over to get a better look. He starts licking at the wound clean. Kurama watches as the wound slowly starts closing up with the tongue bath. Once Hiei's leg stops bleeding, Inuyasha stands back up and kisses Hiei softly. "Sorry. Didn't mean to hurt you too bad. I'm glad you dodged as much as you did."
He pulls his two mates with him to the bathing room, leaving a trail of blood drops in his wake. "You two got some serious skills," he comments as he removes his clothes, "But you gotta listen when I say don't hold back. I saw ya fight that Sensui guy. I know what you got in ya." He forgoes washing up on the sand and jumps right into the spring with a loud splash. The water turns pink momentarily before running clear. He comes up for air with a gasp.
Hiei slid down into the water as well ducking his head under to rinse off his head before leaning back against the edge. "I didn't see you drawing your sword," Hiei observes. "Why should we give it our all if you hold back as well?"
Kurama nods, "You may know what we're capable of, but we have yet to see what you can do. I would be rather upset if we were to cause you undue harm."
Inuyasha nods, "Fair enough. How about you two watch me and Sessh spar sometime. He never holds back other than avoiding killing blows, so you should get a good handle on what I can do."
Kurama joins them in the spring to rinse off. Inuyasha pulls the two closer draping an arm over each before relaxing. All too soon, he stirs pulling them with him to dry off and get dressed Kurama wearing one of the nicer outfits he brought with him consisting of a forest green button down silk dress shirt and black slacks, Hiei in his customary clothes, and Inuyasha in clothes similar to yesterday, except navy blue with aqua wave embroideries and a silver obi. Inuyasha pulled his damp hair up into a topknot secured with a navy ribbon.
Inuyasha tucks his sword into his obi, "Shall we head out then?"
Sorry for the wait... i got really busy cleaning and organizing the house before my husband gets back from Bahrain.
