Demon Tale
6: Yusuke and the Beast
For the first time since he’d encountered the substance, Yusuke willingly took a dose of the stuff from the little vial the girl named Hope had given him. Actually, the original vial had been destroyed during his battle with Princess Woe. This was the duplicate, conjured by the Djinni of the Dark Tome. There had been doubt as to if it was the same liquid and if was it safe to use. But after giving that matter as much consideration Yusuke gave anything—that is he crossed his fingers and hoped he wouldn’t die—Yusuke took the potion.
The present found him in the dream facsimile of the rooftop of his old Jr. High school. He was wearing his old uniform; the green one he wore in defiance of the schools regulation blue. Forget that he was now a grown man thus the clothing he wore now would have to be several sizes larger than the one he wore then.
Hiei was wearing a school uniform, too; black. He would have looked tragic in that blue. He was crouched down next to the chain link, smoking a crumpled cigarette. He looked like a real delinquent. He was staring daggers at Yusuke.
“Well, that’s gratitude for you,” Yusuke snorted.
“All this time you’ve had the means to communicate,” Hiei said, “And now you finally have, what do you have to say? You’re getting married to some tramp you don’t even know!”
“For you!” Yusuke retorted.
Something about a fortnight ago, Yusuke received a tip from Spirit World; an Old Witch-Woman who went by the name Mama Bay had come forward, claiming that she had the power to release Hiei from his sleeping curse. When asked why she didn’t come forward sooner she informed them that she lived in a very remote part of the demon where news travels either very slowly or not at all.
Yusuke found that to be a very true assessment, when he traveled to meet with her at her humble little hobble of a home. He was able to get there quickly only because he had been riding a Sleipnir, which was so generously lent to him from Yomi’s private stables. (He claimed it to be graduate for having introduced him to a certain blond haired fox from the Dead Forest, whose company he found “Stimulating”.)
“I’ve been around and around,” The hunched little clone had told him, as she pointlessly busied herself with a kettle, “For a long time. I know all sorts of things that most forgot. I can counter-spell that little hex, just like that!” she snapped her gnarled fingers. “There are just a couple of things….”
“And what’s that?” Yusuke asked, not surprised there was a catch.
“Well for one, I’ve got to get at him to do it,” She pointed out, “And rumor has it he’s got an incinerator for a pet, guarding him.” She was referring to Hiei’s Black Dragon. Mukuro had let it loose inside the castle to protect Hiei. Likelihood it had already consumed a number of foolish demons who thought they could make a name for themselves in Hiei’s blood. That is, if any of them managed to get past the horticultural nightmare Kurama set up a round the place.
“No problem. I can take you there myself,” Yusuke told her. “But then there’s the matter of your payment, right? So, let’s quit dancing around it. What do you want? Gold? Jewels? A cushy government job?”
“Ah, yes. You do have considerable resources at your disposal, despite that little punk persona you affect,” The old woman grinned at him with little yellow teeth. “Your late ancestor Raizen left you with some sizeable estates along with a comfortable fortune. Add to that your own power. Talk says that one day you will win the title of Demon King. What I ask is a simple—even noble thing.
“I’m fairy godmother to this girl, you see. Oh, she is a very pretty girl; however she is mute—but very pretty! So much so that she earned the scorn of those who just couldn’t compare. She was kidnapped and locked inside an enchanted castle—the location’s marked on a map in my bureau-- And guarded by a terrible beast.”
“So, you want me to rescue her?” Yusuke surmised.
“That’s part of it,” She responded shrewdly, “The thing is, even if you save her, she will still be pretty. Thus she will still be in danger. No, there is no way around it. The only way that you can save her and keep her safe is if you marry her.”
“What?!” Yusuke squeaked.
“Well, a married woman, no matter how pretty, is not a threat to other women. She’s out of the game, you know,” the old woman told him like it was nothing. “And you do have the means to take very good care of her. Anyway, only under these conditions will I agree to release your comrade from his curse.”
Needless to say Hiei was less than pleased with Yusuke’s decision. He chewed irritably at the end of his prop cigarette. “Didn’t we get into this mess because neither one of us liked the idea of being in a marriage of convenience?” He said, “What happened to that crap about wanting to be ‘in love’.”
“I might go my whole life without finding ‘love’,” Yusuke plopped down next to Hiei, “I think I can stand a life without love. It beats the snot of a life without… never mind. I’m doing this. Rather you appreciate it right now or not,” Yusuke told him.
“Why’d you even bother coming here?” Hiei said moodily throwing his cigarette away. It vanished before it hit the ground.
“I don’t know,” Yusuke muttered. He already felt weird about coming there, after what happened the first time he intruded on Hiei’s dreams…. Maybe he did know why he came.
Yusuke looked Hiei over, sitting with his chin propped up on his knees. He looked cute in that uniform. His collar was sloppily unbuttoned, allowing Yusuke a glimpse of the soft flesh on his neck. On impulse, Yusuke leaned down and touched his lips to Hiei’s skin, just below his left ear. He could feel the temperature of Hiei’s skin rise in response to the contact.
Hiei jerked away, “What are you…?” He paled, “It WAS you that time. It thought something felt off. Too… solid. I didn’t want to believe it, but… oh damnation!” He looked like he wanted to die.
“It’s nothing you got to be ashamed of,” Yusuke offered. The look Hiei returned said otherwise. “I mean, you want what you want. And let’s just say that my horizons have been broadened, recently. So, I wouldn’t mind…. Damn, what am I trying to say?” He grasped Hiei firmly by the shoulders and looked him straight in the eye, “Do you want to have a wet dream together?”
The expression that met him was one of pure fury. The next thing Yusuke saw was Hiei’s fist flying toward his face. “OH!” Yusuke gasped as his back hit the ground. He was lying in the grass, looking up at the pinkish sky of the demon world. Yusuke reached up to check his nose, knowing full well it wouldn’t be bloodied. He was awake now. Hiei punched him hard enough to kick him out of his dreams.
“Crap,” he bemoaned to himself, “I knew I was gonna screw that up. Awe well, he can kick my ass in person when this is all over with.”
Yusuke picked himself up. He left most of his stuff there, taking only a single pack with him. He walked to the top of the nearest hill. From there he could see the enchanted castle that held his bride to be. “Look at that,” he said to his non-existent companion, “A lava filled moat AND a glass mountain. They really went for all the story-book options, didn’t they. What? No enchanted forest? Then again, been there done that.”
The upper reaches of the castle were built of blocks of dark lava rock, while the base seemed to be carved out of the volcanic glass, making it seamless with the mountainside. It would have been so easy to ride his spirit beast, Puu, to the top—or any other flying animal for that matter. But he would have to leave it to venture into the castle, leaving the animal in danger. Yusuke preferred walking to riding anyhow.
No sign of the beast.
“Well, here we go!” Yusuke shouldered his backpack and then took off running down the hill at full tilt. His demon speed left a trail of dust plumbing up behind him. In no time the mountain loomed up in front of him, completely filling his field of range of vision. He watched the glassy façade ripple and waver before his eyes. It was the heat coming off the lava. He could feel the backdraft, pushing him back as he approached. He pushed harder.
The edge was just as few meters away. He counted one, two, three! He leapt. His body soared out over the open lava. He could feel the flames licking at the soles of his sneakers. The glass wall was just in front of him. He reached out. Prayed he was correct, that the force of his velocity would see him the other side.
He made it! His hands grabbed for the rock, but couldn’t find purchase on slippery glass surface. Yusuke slid down. His hands franticly searched for something to grip. He was only a few meters above the molting rock. He was going to die. Just then as if by miracle his hands slipped into a deep horizontal crack.
“Whew,” Yusuke breathed. Then he screamed, “Shit! Hot! Hot! Hot!” Somehow it didn’t occur to him that a giant piece of glass sticking out of lava would be hot.
With the speed and dexterity that only a man climbing searing hot glass could have. Yusuke picked out cracks and protrusions, and found a route up the mountain. The glass cooled to more tolerable temperatures as he ascended, but it never really got cold. He eventually he found an opening into the castle. He pulled himself inside. He half expected some trap to spring on him the moment his feet touched the floor. It didn’t.
The old woman had told him that getting into the castle was the hard part. The inside was relatively safe. The girl, he was there to rescue, pretty much had run of the place. And why not? It was impossible to escape the castle once inside. Yusuke had some thoughts on that. He checked the pack on his back once more.
“Hey…uh, girl!” Yusuke called. He was suddenly embarrassed as he realized that he’d never asked for the girl’s name. And he was going to marry her.
He heard a shuffling. He ran toward it. Around a corner and there she was. Oh, she was beautiful. She was barefoot and half nude in nothing but a thin silk nightgown and a gold choker collar around her long slim neck. She had soft brown, curly hair and well-rounded tawny flesh, and lips the color of coral. Those lips were parted to lose a muted gasp of surprise. Her dark eyes were likewise wide with surprise. She ran.
“Hey where are you going!” Yusuke pursued. He caught her by the wrist. She struggled and bit at him with her tiny white teeth. “Cut it out! I’m here to save you, damn it! I’m gonna get you out of here.”
At that she stopped and looked at him as if he’d told her he was a mighty steed and sorry, the knight fell off. “Can you take me to the highest window in this place?” He asked her. She nodded and a sort time they were there. He picked her up and carried her to the window.
Yusuke’s plan wasn’t evident until it was too late. Holding her with one hand, he jumped out the window. He saw the horror on her face as she clung to him. His other hand went to the cord, hidden behind his left shoulder. He pulled and the parachute in his pack deployed. The heat from the burning lava filled the chute and buoyed them up.
Up, they soared, until Yusuke’s substantial forward momentum carried them past the heated lava. In the cool air they started to drop again, rapidly, but controlled. They landed hard, rolling over each other. They came to rest with her on top him, legs spread to either side of his lap. He knew without a doubt at that moment that she wasn’t wearing anything under her nightgown.
He might have had a comment for that, but at that moment a blood chilling howl filled the air. A big dark mass detached itself from the shadows. It was all teeth and claws and fur. “Look out!” Yusuke said, shoving his bride-to-be off of him. He took aim and fired, “Spirit Gun!”
It wasn’t the most powerful shot he’d ever used, but it also wasn’t necessary to turn the poor beast’s head into a cinder. Yusuke’s shot landed square between the beast’s brows. The creature’s head snapped back. And it dropped like a stone. The girl made a concerned gurgling sound as she scrambled to get a better view of the fallen beast.
“I only knocked him out and it won’t last long,” Yusuke told her as he snatched her up, “so we better vamoose.” They were probably half way to the other side of demon world before the thing woke up.
Yusuke and the girl eloped that night. No big white wedding with all his friends and family in attendance. They could do the ceremony and reception thing later. He just wanted to make it legal as quick as possible, so Mama Bay could hold up her end of the deal. As promised the old lady met him at first light, as near to Mukuro’s fortress she dared venture without becoming victim to the masses of thorny brambles that surrounded it.
“It’s like something out of a human fairytale,” the old woman noted as Yusuke and his wife approached. “So, what cute devise you have to get past these thorns, hm? A potion? Cloak of invisibility? A magic sword, perhaps?”
In response Yusuke extended his right forefinger causally toward the mass and said, “Spirit Gun.” A glowing ball of energy launched from his fingertip and ripped through the vegetation, terminating before it hit reached the castle wall.
“Well that wasn’t very cute at all,” The old woman commented. “Do I want to know your plan from when we meet the dragon?”
“Probably not,” Yusuke told her as he made for the path his Spirit gun had cut. His wife tugged at his arm, grunted, and looked up at him imploringly. He would have left her behind if he could have, at a rented room, or sent her off to one his estates. But she refused to let him leave her side. “I know you’re scared, but I’ve got to go. You can wait here if you want and I’ll be right back as soon as we get Hiei’s lazy ass out of his bed.”
In response she grunted and hugged his arm. She was coming too. “All right,” He told her, “But stick close to me and do exactly what I tell ya, kay.”
The castle wasn’t as he remembered it. It was dimmer inside. It was probably because of the foliage outside, blocking the windows; however the causality felt more sinister than that. The air smelled dusty and dead. Air does that when there are no people around to stir it up. Yusuke took a step forward and was startled by a loud snap. He gasped and looked down to find a broken and charred femur bone underfoot.
“Shit,” he cursed. It seems he’d been right about attempted intruders. He touched the wall near the bones; soot. Just then a powerful gust of hot wind blew down the hall, carrying the smell of brimstone with it. Yusuke signed for the women to get behind him. There was a low roaring sound, like a freight train in the far distance. He could have sworn he saw shifting in the shadows. Nothing happened.
“Not that I’m complaining, mind, you, but I thought it’d be a little harder than this” Yusuke said as he led the two women through a maze of corridors and up a seemingly endless stairs; up to a room in the top of the highest tower, where he knew he’d find Hiei.
Once somebody told him that it was impossible to control the black dragon consciously. They believed Hiei controlled it with his sub-conscious. That was why it seemed more effective on some opponents rather than others. It’s ability to kill was hinged on the amount of his desire to kill them. Was that why Hiei’s dragon hadn’t made an appearance? Did it recognize Yusuke’s presence? Did it know he was there to help Hiei? Seemed too good to be true.
They came to the door, and nothing accosted him as he opened it and stepped inside. He saw Hiei in the flesh, for the first time in… oh how long had it been? His heart caught in his throat. “Hiei!” He almost knocked his bride over as he dashed to Hiei’s side. They put him in a glass coffin, to keep the dust from setting on his body. Yusuke wrenched the lid open. He cradled Hiei’s limp form in his arms. He was warm. Yusuke could have cried.
He was so entranced by Hiei that he didn’t notice how his wife paced nervously, chewing her fingers, nor did he notice the expression of wicked glee, painted on Mama Bay’s face. She tossed the girl a sharp look. The next thing Yusuke knew, he heard his wife scream.. He looked up in time to see her run out the door.
“Go after her you fool,” Mama Bay barked, “I don’t need you to do what needs be done. And there are dangers in these halls yet!”
“Right,” Yusuke said. Without a second thought he ran after the girl, leaving the old hag alone with Hiei.
She was a lot faster than Yusuke expected her to be. She was so far ahead of him, he had to track her by her aura. Just as he was about to catch up with her, she screamed again. She sure screams a lot for a mute woman. He rounded the corner and was assailed by the powerful scent of burning sulfur. His wife was pressed against the far wall, the Black Dragon looming over her. It reared back, burning jaws open….
“Oh fuck my stupid life!” Yusuke shouted as he dove between them. He caught the dragon’s jaws in his hands. A lesser demon would have been incinerated on the spot. And hell maybe it was true that Hiei’s dragon couldn’t bring itself to harm someone Hiei liked. Nonetheless, Yusuke could feel the things heat burning into the palms of his hands as he tried to turn it way.
“Gyhh!!!” He cried out, as he reached down inside himself for greater strength. His wife cried as his and creature’s combined energies sent her flying. “Damn it, Hiei!” he shouted at the dragon, “Don’t you see I’m doing this for you!” The dragon’s eyes glowed like hot coals as it seemed to find new strength. It roared against Yusuke’s restraining hands and forced him backward, slamming his back hard into the wall.
For an odd moment something like peace settled over Yusuke. It might have been a concussion. In his dazed mind, he almost saw Hiei standing there, were the dragon should have been. He reached out to the phantom image. He felt drained, but not in a bad way. An alarm of rationality caused Yusuke shake off the dream. He blinked, expected to see the Black Dragon looming over him, jaws agape, ready to consume his being. It was gone.
His wife was struggling to her feet, clasping her throat. There was a burn ringed around it were her gold chocker had been. The heat form the dragon must have caused the burn. The impact must have broken it. She coughed, “Must go….”
Yusuke was shocked, “You can talk! But Mama Bay--.”
“No, Devetaki!” She pointed urgently toward the tower, “Lies! Must go!”
Yusuke was never a particularly bright young man, but even he could see the plot coming together in his mind. “Crap!” He bolted.
Meanwhile in the tower, the old hag strode triumphantly to Hiei’s side. “You have no idea how much trouble I went through, just to be here. I nearly thought it impossible. Ah, but then young Mr. Urameshi came along. He’d searched so long and so hard… you wouldn’t believe the derogation he’s put himself through. By the time I got to him he was so desperate, he let me right in. And now my slave girl has him distracted.”
“Mahaha!” She threw her head back and laughed. In a dramatic flourish, she discarded her cloak, along with her hag persona; in her place stood a well-endowed, raven haired beauty. She paused to look at herself in her pocket mirror. She preened seeing herself beautiful again and out of that hag disguise. But then she frowned when she tilted the mirror so that she could see her left eye. A long, thin, white scar ran from her brow, half way down her cheek; a souvenir from Mukuro. She put the mirror away, trading it for a long thin knife.
“I could have given you everything a man desires,” She said bitterly to Hiei’s sleeping form, “All you had to give me in return was absolute power. Was it really so much to ask? Well, now I hope you’ve learned, nobody rejects Devetaki the Enchantress.”
Without farther ado she plunged the knife down toward his heart. Just then she was blinded by a sudden, brief flash of darkness. Next thing she knew her hand was caught in an iron grip. “No,” She gasped in terror, “You can’t… it’s impossible.”
Hiei’s right hand had jumped up to grasp her wrist. She could see the dragon tattoo had miraculously returned to his arm, and moreover it was glowing with a power that she could not say was entirely demonic. It was HIS power; that idiot Urameshi’s. “Energy transfer? Without contact?" She bellowed, “But the only way you two could do that… ah I see. You weren’t kidding when you said I wasn’t your type. No matter….”
Undeterred, she pulled out a second knife. (A lady always has a backup plan.) She raised it high over her head, ready to strike, then, “Not so fast lady!” Yusuke appeared in the doorway, firing off a small Spirit Gun shot. It struck her hand, sending her knife clattering into the shadows.
“Some days you just can’t kill a bitch,” Devetaki muttered. She grasped Hiei by the shoulder, then with strength that betrayed her flouncy form lifted him from the box and hurled his lifeless body at Yusuke. Yusuke cursed and caught Hiei’s falling body in his arms. Meanwhile Devetaki was gurgling some strange and unintelligible words.
“If I must kill you instead, so be it. One way or the other, that little runt is NEVER waking up!” She pulled a glass bottle from her clothes and shattered it on the floor. The room was instantly clouded by black smoke that stung Yusuke’s eyes and burned in his throat.
He coughed and shouted through the smog, “Yeah bigger guys than you have tried!”
“Bigger than me? Mwhahaha!” Her voice echoed, swelled. Just then the room started to rumble. The ceiling and walls abruptly disappeared in a hail of rubble, allowing the foul smoke to clear. And Yusuke finally saw what it had been concealing. It was something like a dragon’s head glued to a squid’s body, covered in from snout to tail gleaming blood red scales. “It’s over!” Devetaki’s voice boomed from the creature.
A red tentacle shot out toward them. Without thinking Yusuke threw Hiei’s body to one side and out of harm’s way. The tentacle wrapped itself around him, pinning his arms to his sides. Small hooked teeth dug into his skin. It pulled him forward; slowly, so as to torment him. Yusuke watched the other tentacles part to reveal a long vertical gash in the creature’s underside. Was it a mouth… or something else? It opened as he was drawn closer to reveal rows of spiny, bone crushing teeth. Yusuke would have screamed if he hadn’t been gaging on the rotten garage smell that rolled out of that orifice.
Then out of nowhere a massive hairy beast sailed into the fray. It clamped its great jaws down on the tentacle that held Yusuke. The creature screamed in Devitaki’s voice. It jerked and flung the beast into the wall, but dropped Yusuke in the process.
Yusuke didn’t hesitate a second. Be gathered his energy in his fist. “Shot Gun!” It hit the creature with the force of a wrecking ball, knocking it backward. Its lower region struck a low bit of broken wall. It lost its balance and fell screaming from the tower, down into the masses of angry thorns below.
Yusuke didn’t even take a second to enjoy his victory. He cast around and found Hiei, where he had thrown him. He lifted his head to look at his face. He was okay, still sleeping but okay. “Shit that was close,” he muttered as he pressed Hiei’s face to his chest. He felt his warm breath penetrate his tee-shirt. It seemed to spread through his whole body.
He heard a low growl and looked to see the beast was struggling to its feet. It looked like the one he fought at the glass castle, but a little smaller, and curvier, and it had the tattered remains of a dress hanging from its form. It was his wife’s dress.
“You?” He gaped. It WAS her!
“The real me; My name’s Eunice, by the way” she puffed her chest up proudly, “Devetaki put that collar on me; Transformed me into a wispy hairless little get. She kept me as a slave; promised ta release me n’ turn me back if I helped her fool you into letting her into this castle. An’ then get you out of the room so she could off yer lover here.”
“We’re not….” Yusuke glanced down at Hiei and thought the word lovers. Sure, he thought about having SEX with Hiei, recently; for Hiei’s pleasure. And maybe he wanted it too; his horizons had been thoroughly broadened as of late. It would be fun. But then the idea of loving Hiei, really loving him, that was another thing altogether. Lovers. The word sent an exciting shiver down his spine.
He said awkwardly, “You and I are married.”
“Our marriage isn’t legal, seeing I’m already married. That beast you cold clocked back when you ‘recused’ me; that was my man,” she told him. “He’d been stalking outside that castle for months, trying to find a way to me. Guess it takes crazy to get the job done.”
“You’re kidding!” Yusuke gaped-- though it did make sense, seeing her as she REALLY was.
“Don’t look too relieved; ya might hurt my feelings.”
“Sorry.”
She laughed at him. Sobered, “I’m the one should be apologizing, yanking you around n’ pretending we were gonna help you. You must feel awful. What cha gonna do now?”
“Find a bed to put him in. We kinda destroyed this tower,” Yusuke looked down at Hiei’s sleeping face. He could visit Hiei in dreams with Hope’s elixir. What if he drank the whole bottle? He could curl up next to Hiei and they could sleep and dream together for the next one hundred years. He reached into his pocket, touched the bottle. But then he thought of Kurama, Keiko, and everyone else. He couldn’t do that to them. “Then I guess I keep looking for the cure… even if isn’t one.”
“You must love him very much,” she intruded.
“Yeah I do.” The words slipped out of Yusuke’s mouth with a giddy feeling. They rang shockingly back into his own ears and he knew they were true. “Fuck me, I’m in love Hiei.” How had he never realized before—he was an idiot. Looking down on Hiei’s sweet face, he felt like an idiot. How many times had been excited by his energy and shrewd company? How often had he admired his fierce body and adorable face? Even now Yusuke was assailed by how tempting Hiei’s lips looked. On impulse he leaned down to kiss those lips, muttering against them, “I love you, Hiei.”
“You don’t say.”
“Gyah!” Yusuke started violently. He skipped back in time to see Hiei’s eyes flutter open. “But when… why… how!?” Yusuke gibbered in surprise.
“Even I’ve heard of true love’s first kiss, moron,” Hiei said as he wrapped his arms around Yusuke’s head and pulled him down for another deep passion filled kiss.
“Well, all’s well that ends well, then,” Eunice, who’d been all but forgotten, said awkwardly as she started to back up toward the stairs. “I think I’ll just leave you boys to it… and go look for my husband.”
“Have a nice life!” Yusuke managed to break away from Hiei long enough to say goodbye. “Oh, and tell your hubby I’m sorry for sucker punching him.” She left, presumably to live happily ever after. Yusuke didn’t even turn his head to watch her go, he so fascinated with his Hiei; alive and awake.
Hiei faked a yawn, “Oh no, I think your kiss must be wearing off. Maybe I require something more… potent.”
Steam nearly shot out of Yusuke’s ears. He scooped Hiei up in his arms and headed toward the crumbling stairs. Hiei allowed him to carry him down to a bedroom away from the destroyed tower. Yusuke flung the dust cover off the bed and deposited Hiei there among the masses of pillows.
“Ouch!” Hiei arched his back and reached behind him, and pulled out… a ladies’ shoe made of clear glittery blue plastic. It must have been a lady’s room before the castle was vacated.
“You know, I feel like a fool,” Yusuke said as he took the shoe out of Hiei’s hand and then slipped it onto his dainty foot. “It never occurred to me that I could have broken the curse.” He kissed the inside of his ankle. It was a perfect fit.
“You ARE a fool. It was a devious spell, though. It must have been feeding off me; using my own damned repressed emotions to bind me down.” Hiei raised an eyebrow. He glanced at the bureau. He slipped the shoe off again and handed it to Yusuke with a smile. He strolled over to the bureau. “I suppose you can say, I was cursed long before I bit that rotten apple. You were the cause of it; of course, I suppose it only seems fitting you be the one to lift it.”
“Why didn’t you ever say anything to me, then, ya know, about the… feelings?” Yusuke watched Hiei rummage around in the draws.
“You would have rejected me,” Hiei told him point blank.
“I wouldn’t—.” Yusuke stopped. He might have. Before he’d gone off on his quest he would never have considered a male for a partner, and certainly not Hiei. It wasn’t because Hiei was unattractive, not at all. But he’d never thought of Hiei as a sexual entity before, not until he’d invaded Hiei’s dreams and found him wanton and wanting. Just the remembrance was enough to make his prick harden.
“How long, then?” Yusuke asked, “How long have you, um…?”
“How long have I been in love with you?” Hiei’s words caused a giddy surge pass through Yusuke’s body. “Ah ha.” He pulled a bottle out of the dresser and tossed it to Yusuke. He didn’t recognize the brand, but he could clearly see it was lube. “My... affections grew over time, so it’s difficult to pin point exactly when it happened. Psh. Sometimes, I suspect I fell for you the moment I first saw you; some cocky human child strolling out of the woods. I remember being annoyed at the time because I sort of liked you.”
“Forbid you like a human.” Yusuke said.
“Shut up, you ass,” Hiei told him as he pulled off his shirt to reveal his wonderfully toned chest. It was nice to see the muscles hadn’t atrophied during his protracted sleep. Though Yusuke imaged that Hiei could look sexy even in a slighter frame. He turned his back to Yusuke as he pulled the drawstring on his pants. His pants swept down his legs. Hiei smirked over his shoulder.
“Ooo,” Yusuke drooled, seeing those cute perfectly rounded buns. His hands twitched with the desire to reach out and squeeze one. But Hiei’s don’t-you-move look made him stay put.
Hiei lifted one foot to a low drawer he’d left opened. Yusuke watched in fascination as the muscles in his thighs and buttocks shifted. Hiei plucked another object he from the drawer; a silk stocking. He bent ever so slightly causing the aforementioned muscles to flex again, clinching and plumping that already irresistible ass. He jammed his toe into the stocking and slowly slipped it up his leg. Yusuke followed it with his eyes as the stocking caressed up Hiei’s calves, over the sensitive bend of the knee, up the ever tantalizing thigh. He was almost jealous. Did Hiei have any idea how sexy he was?! Hiei tossed him a smirk over his shoulder. Oh yes, he knew.
Hiei plucked up the other stocking and then treated Yusuke to a second viewing. Yusuke fumbled with his zipper as he watched. Hiei was making hum so hot—so hard—it was becoming painful. Yusuke pulled open his fly. His erection rose from the folds of his clothing like a snake rising out of the grass. Yusuke could see it pulse with his every heartbeat. He reached out to touch it. He could hardly believe it was his; that he could be so aroused. And Hiei, of all people, was the cause.
He shuttered when his fingers grazed his hot skin. “Do you suppose I’ve overdone it?” Hiei’s deep sultry words reached his ears. Hiei had turned. He was aroused. His dick was so full and pink and leaking nectar it closer resembled an exotic flower tucked between his legs. He took a few steps closer, reached down to stroke his own excitement; to pleasure himself or to draw Yusuke’s gaze? Those stockings, Yusuke’s eyes were drawn like a magnet to that faint line across Hiei’s thighs where the color turned darker. Somehow, they made him seem even more naked. He was perfection, like a horny angel.
Yusuke felt a rumble in his chest and realized he was growling. Hiei paused, gracefully swooping down to snatch something out from under the bed. It was the other shoe. Yusuke was treated to another fantastic flexing of muscles as Hiei slipped the shoe on. Finally he took that last step up to Yusuke. He smoothed his hands over Yusuke’s shoulders and put his still bare foot in his lap. Yusuke shutter at the gloriously elicit sensation of the silk sliding against his sensitive member. He made a mental note to get more silky things for Hiei to wear in the future.
“The other slipper,” Hiei reminded him.
“Oh!” Yusuke started and fumbled to retrieve the shoe he’s left at his side. He slipped the shoe onto Hiei’s foot. He let his hands wonder up Hiei’s calve over his thigh. A moment of boldness seized him, he cupped Hiei’s balls. They were so warm and soft in his hand. Hiei leaned his head back and moaned desperately, “Ohhh. No not that….”
“Like that,” Yusuke breathed getting more excited by the moment. “How’s about this?” he leaned down and whipped his tongue across them.
“Ngyh!” Hiei spread his legs; to give Yusuke better access or to improve his balance?
Yusuke took it as an invitation. He turned, laid on his back, sliding his head between Hiei’s legs like a mechanic sliding under a car. He lifted his head and buried his face in Hiei’s underside; licking and nipping at the soft plaint flesh he found there. And with every touch Hiei came more and more unglued until he had to lean forward and brace his arms up on Yusuke’s chest.
Finally Hiei cried, “Enough!’ In an instant he was gone, vanished. In the next he appeared at Yusuke’s feet, wrenching his pants off his body. Yusuke was momentary shocked. Sometimes he forgot about Hiei’s super speed. Hiei flung his pants to the floor and pressed his hot naked body against his. His burning cock touched Yusuke’s and he thought he would melt. He curled his back, reaching for Hiei. The smaller man met him halfway in a crushing, soul binding, saliva swapping kiss. If the first kiss hadn’t burned away all of the curse, this one certainly would have done the job.
Then Yusuke felt a sensation that would have made his blood run cold, if it hadn’t already been boiling; fingers probing at his asshole. Was Hiei planning on doing THAT to him?! He thought Hiei liked to do that. He wanted to take Yusuke’s cock up his ass in that dream. Maybe he liked it both ways? Yusuke hadn’t considered the possibility of taking a cock up HIS ass. But he loved Hiei. And he didn’t want to be a hypocrite. And…. “Oh damn, that feels kinda… good.” He gasped as one of Hiei’s deft fingers traced the rim of his opening. He whined a just a little when those fingers left him. Hiei smirked as he retrieved the bottle of lube from where Yusuke had dropped on the covers. In seconds the fingers returned, slick now. “Ooo,” Yusuke moaned as Hiei circled his ring with his finger, dipped it in and out and then traced the rim again. Yusuke could feel his ass giving less and less resistance. Hiei added a second finger to the exercise and the pleasurable sensation doubled.
“I thought this was supposed to hurt,” Yusuke spoke like a true anal virgin.
“Not so much if it’s done right,” Hiei responded. After a suspicious look from Yusuke, he snapped, “I do know what I’m doing…. Dumbass.”
“Love you too,” Yusuke said with a short laugh that turned into a moan as Hiei worked a third finger into his hole. Yusuke writhed and screamed as Hiei stroked his insides. He had no idea he was so sensitive inside. It felt so good, he was losing his mind. Hiei could have done anything to him at that moment and Yusuke wouldn’t have had a mind to complain.
“Ready,” Hiei husked as he removed his fingers.
“No,” Yusuke moaned half-wittedly.
“Shh, the good parts coming.” Hiei told him as he poured a generous amount of lube into his palm. He hissed with pleasure when he grasped his own arousal. Yusuke watched him methodically rub the slick fluid over his cock. Without thinking about it he reached down to touch his own arousal.
Hiei laughed softly as he pushed Yusuke’s legs open wider and positioned himself between them. Yusuke was vividly aware of the silk stockings, rubbing rousingly on the insides of his thighs. Lord help him, he was about to be fucked by a guy wearing hose and heals. “It’ll only be uncomfortable for a minute,” Hiei growled low in his throat as he nipped at Yusuke’s nipple.
Yusuke felt the burning hot tip of Hiei’s member push at his opening. He took a deep breath. And then there was a quick sharp pain, just a pop. And then all he felt was the warmness of Hiei’s flesh inside of him. Intimacy; It was a word that many men pretended not to know. Some refused to acknowledge its existence. Some men were scared shitless of it. But it was the only word that Yusuke could think of to truly describe what he was experiencing as he and Hiei lay in that bed, one on top of the other, their bodies coupled together, and the passion flowing so heatedly between them that it was difficult to tell where he ended and Hiei begin.
A sweet voice sighed out, “Oh, Hiei.” Then Yusuke was startled to realize it was his own voice.
Hiei shifted his hips, slowly moving them up and down, back and forth. If Yusuke thought the fingers felt good, having Hiei’s dick inside him was a whole other ballgame. Hiei filled his passage completely and when he moved he stroked every point inside. The warmth inside Yusuke glowed brighter and brighter with each thrust, like he was an ember that Hiei was trying to cox into flame. Just then Hiei shifted his hips and thrust. Yusuke ignited. Hiei thrust again, harder. Yusuke’s pleasure sensors exploded again.
“Ahh, Ahh,,” Yusuke bayed.
“You LIKE having your ass filled with dick,” Hiei husked lewdly, “I can tell.”
“Only yours!” It was true; Yusuke had… something of an experience with anal penetration before, not with a real person. He had to say, Hiei was 200% better. Hell, it was the best thing ever! “If you keep doing—oh! You have to—uh! I’m gonna come!”
“Come then!” Hiei shouted, grasping Yusuke’s dick and stroking it roughly. The look in his eyes as he stared down on Yusuke; he looked like a wild thing. “I want to see it. Come for me.” He shifted his hips to hit that spot again.
There was no holding back. It was like sinking into liquid fire. It was seeping into his pores, filling him until he thought he would burst. Yusuke threw his head back and cried out, “Hiei” His entire body shuttered as his passion flowed out of him and dribbled down Hiei’s hand.
At that moment an expression passed over his face. He would never remember doing it, but Hiei would never forget it. He wasn’t sure what to call it, if it had a name. Yusuke looked comfortable and content, like he’d found a place where liked to be. Yusuke Urameshi, the boy who never fit in anywhere, had come home. Hiei closed his eyes and shuttered as his orgasm quietly washed over him.
“Man you’re a trip,” Yusuke said when he managed to find his breath, “William Shatner and the gnome might just start a bidding war over you.” Hiei really was something in the sack, what with the dirty talk, the kinkily stockings, and his undeniable skill.
“I have no idea what that means,” Hiei murmured from the place at Yusuke’s side where he collapsed. His eyes were closed, but it didn’t look like he was planning on falling asleep.
“It means you’re awesome,” Yusuke smiled until he thought his face would crack. “Hey, how’d you learn how to be such a good lay?”
One eye cracked open. “….I am not going to have this conversation.”
“Hiei, are you… are you blushing?” Yusuke could see the red tinting his lover’s cheeks, “Oh, I see. A bit of solo exploration, huh?” Both of Hiei’s eyes were open now and giving him the best death glare Yusuke had ever seen. “That’s, uh, pretty hot.”
Hiei flinched. For a moment, his mouth worked up and down not knowing what to say. He snorted, “Freak.”
“You know you love it,” Yusuke pinched Hiei’s cheek. Hiei responded with a non-committal grunt. Yusuke laughed. After a breath he asked, “So what now?”
“A bath,” Hiei said getting out of the bed, “And maybe round two in the shower… if you’re up to it.”
“Shee yeah,” Yusuke grinned. “But really, you know what I mean. What comes next?”
“Food.”
“Hiei!”
Hiei turned his head and said with a wicked grin, “We live happily ever after, you fool.”

A/N: Thanks for reading. I hope everyone liked it. Extra thanks for those who reviewed. It had been so long since I’d written anything; I thought I was losing my touch.
