Scene 6
Scene 6 -------------- Several Miles Away
* Hiei skids to a stop, heaving and nearly ready to fall over into exhaustion. He staggers as he tries to resist the hibernation that wants to kick in, ‘Not.. expended enough.. energy, yet’. Taking his chance, Dagon swoops down and snatches him up into his arms. In his weariness it takes Hiei a couple moments to realize who has him before he starts to struggle.
Hiei- No..! Put m-me.. down..! Now!
Dagon- Let me think on that.
* Dagon feels Hiei begin to raise his temperature. But the Crow keeps his grasp on Hiei as he settles back down to the ground. Once down he grimaces against the searing pain as he sits down and refuses to release the angry Fire demon.
Hiei- I said.. let me.. go.. d--- you!
Dagon- You’ll have to.. roast me, then.. I’m not going.. to let you go and.. do that, sir.
* When Dagon’s words make their way through to Hiei’s befuddled mind he growls in weary frustration.
Hiei- D--- you..! You stubborn.. b------!
* Dagon tightens his arms around Hiei to show his seriousness. Reluctantly, the Koorime gives in and releases his heated aura. Dagon relaxes, but still holds onto Hiei.
Dagon- You need.. to rest.. You’ll think more.. clearly..
Hiei(Wearily)- I.. d-deserve to..
Dagon- Shh.. Rest, Master.. You’ve just reached your limit..
Hiei- Can’t keep.. making these.. stupid de-de.. cisions.
* Dagon looks up as Sylk approaches. Hiei raises his half-closed eyes, also. But before he can say anything more she opens her hand and puffs some dust into his face. Hiei coughs a couple times, then his head collapses forward. Sylk straightens up brushing her hands.
Dagon- What..?
Sylk- Pollen from a simple Sleeping Lily.. I found a patch along the way. He’ll be out for a while.. His energy’s nearly exhausted.
Dagon- I’m.. going to rest a bit myself.. Then fly him back to the fortress.
Sylk- Go ahead. I’ll keep watch.
* Dagon looks back up at her. She rolls her eyes and crosses her arms.
Sylk- Yeah, yeah. I’m a b----.. But I know who I belong to.. now.
Dagon- Hn.. He was planning on.. exhausting himself then..
Sylk- I know. He wasn’t thinking straight. He takes everything so d--- personal.
Dagon- He really cares for us, Sylk.
Sylk- Be quiet and..
* They both look to the side when a demon steps out of the thick brush. Sylk lays her ears back and growls.
Sylk- Tiyarmaru.
Tiyarmaru- Sylk?
* The Tiger demon looks toward Dagon and Hiei. The Crow is now alert and ready to take off if he’ll need to.
Tiyarmaru- Lord Hiei?!
* The Tiger raises a clawed hand as he growls back at Sylk.
Tiyarmaru- You d--- b----! If you’ve hurt Master Hiei I’ll..!
Dagon- This isn’t the result of a battle, Tiger.
Sylk- Calm down and I’ll explain what happened.
* Tiyarmaru lowers his hand and nods. Sylk motions him to sit down with her. Dagon relaxes his wings, but stays alert as Sylk explains as much as she can to Tiyarmaru.
