Scene 6
Scene 6 ------------- The Next Day
* Hiei comes out of the cave and glances up at the sky. Although today is fairly overcast he is still able to determine that the sun is slightly beyond its zenith. Hiei scowls at himself for sleeping so long, but then shakes it off. After the busy weeks he'd just gone through he needed the rest. This thought brings him back to why he actually needed the rest. Hiei looks to his left where most of the females are relaxing. As he takes a deep sniff he notices Lily using her plant skills to create what looks like a basket. For the first time since he'd entered this canyon there is no detectable heat scent to arouse him. Hiei quirks an eyebrow then glances up to his right toward the lookout overhang. Minoro and Gamaru are there relaxing as they talk quietly. Hiei looks back toward Lily in time to notice her raise a hand to rub her forehead. He goes over to her.
Hiei- What are you doing?
* Lily barely glances up at him.
Lily- I always make the beds for our babies.
Hiei- I have no problem with that. But you're exhausting yourself.
* Now she looks up at him.
Hiei- You have plenty of time to make those.. Don't wear yourself out.
* The Kitsune vixen sighs and nods as she sets the half-finished basket aside to join the three previous ones she made. Hiei counts them then looks at her again.
Hiei- How many do you think you're going to have?
Lily- Well, I felt five this morning.
* Celestia looks at her from where she's sitting at the table buffing her claws.
Celestia- I thought you felt six a couple days ago.
* Lily lowers her eyes.
Lily- I.. lost one.
Hiei- What?!
* Sarista comes over to stroke Lily's head.
Sarista- That's why you were sick yesterday.
* Hiei glares up at Sarista.
Hiei- You couldn't heal her?
Sarista- I tried.
* When the Alpha Female starts away Lily looks toward her.
Lily- You know it's not your fault, Mistress.
* Sarista pauses, then continues into the trees. Hiei senses where she's headed and looks back at Lily.
Lily- The loss is because of my own weakness.
Hiei- I haven't given you a feeding session for a couple days..
Lily- At this stage, it's no longer necessary.. It was just the weakest of the litter.
Celestia- Hai.. The fates were merciful to it, then.
* Hiei glances toward the Wolf hybrid incredulously, then he shakes his head and looks back at Lily.
Hiei- Rest for a couple days before doing any more of these baskets.. Rest a day or so between each one.
Lily- Stop treating me like an invalid,.. Sir.. Next you'll be wanting me to withdraw the plant barrier.
Hiei- Hn.. If it gets to be too taxing on you
* Klarice looks up at him from where she was meditating.
Klarice- There's no use to panic just yet.
* Hiei half glances toward the Ice hybrid.
Hiei- You heard me. The boys and I are now more than capable of..
Lily- It's not really that much of a drain on me.. I was being sarcastic.
* Hiei rolls his eyes and blinks away.

Minoro and Gamaru are there relaxing as they talk quietly. Hiei looks back toward Lily in time to notice her raise a hand to rub her forehead. He goes over to her.
Hiei- What are you doing?
* Lily barely glances up at him.

Lily- You know it's not your fault, Mistress.

* Klarice looks up at him from where she was meditating.

Hiei- You heard me. The boys and I are now more than capable of..
