Chapter Five
Yusuke looked out to see Elfleda returning from the stream. She walked past his room and toward the training room. He followed her there. When he looked in he saw her talking with Genkai, he listened in.
“Genkai I want to know a few things about your training methods.”
“Well you can ask the trainer or ask the nitwit I trained.” Genkai pointed toward the doorway where Yusuke had the deer in headlights look upon his face. He tried to duck away but Genkai had him by the pant leg. “You are starting to look flabby you will be her training partner.”
“NO WAY IN HELL I AM GOING THROUGH YOUR PHYCOTIC BEAT DOWNS YOU CALL TRAINING!”
“Genkai may I see a demo of your methods?” she smirked as Yusuke looked at her with pleading eyes. She shrugged her shoulders like there was nothing she could do. Yusuke gaped at her.
“You evil little thing.” She giggled but stopped as a fist collided with her cheek sending her flying across the dojo floor to the wall. As her body collided with the wall she looked over at Genkai with disbelief.
“Wow is that how you welcomed Yusuke and the others to training?” Genkai said nothing but jumped to attack her again. Elfleda dived out of the way and continued to dodge her new sensei’s attacks. Her cheek swelled as she tuned out her mind to all but her opponent. She ignored that Yusuke had gotten Kurama and Hiei to come see her train as well as Koemna. Her body twisting and turning like a ribbon to avoid the attacks. Finally she placed a foot on the ground and turned it to twist her body toward Genkai and tried to land a punch. She failed miserably landing herself a bone crunching punch to the kidneys.
“FUCK!!!!” she collapsed holding her sides but rolled away from Genkai as the old woman tried to kick her. “Didn’t anyone tell you not to kick someone when they are down?” She held out her hand as her eyes glowed and Genkai froze for a moment before attacking slower this time though. A small glowing ball in her hand grew as Genkai steadily slower. Koemna went to stop the fight but Hiei was there and already hand her wrist held by his hand.
“Enough,” her eyes immediately stopped glowing as she looked at the red eyes that she had first seen when she was in the cell. The first bit of hope she ever saw was those eyes. She released the ball and Genkai went back to her old self.
“Koemna I think she all she really needs is control of her temper and her demon blood. Her body felt threatened so her demonic blood came out and attacked Genkai’s soul.”
Elfleda paid no attention to what Kurama was telling Koemna. Her focus was on the red eyes as everything slowly turned to black.
Hiei caught her, as it seemed her body floated down to his arms. Carrying her in a body in a bridal way, Hiei brought her to her room.
“We will also need to help her not over use her power.” Said Yusuke.
“I made her faint Detective.” Hiei spoke as he left the training room with her in his arms. Kurama smiled at his little friend. He was already showing that he cared about the young woman. Hiei gently laid her down on the futon and caressed a strand of hair from her face as her eyes shot open with a distant look in her eyes. her eyes stared at his as images forced their way into his mind.
