Kurama's First Meets Kuwa and Hiei
Hey everyone!!
Sorry I haven't updated this for awhile, but I kinda stopped writing this for awhile ^^;; got a bit upset by learning my fight scenes aren't that good...but so bad that they are good ^^;; kinda confused me...well, I thought my fight scenes were one of the few things I was good at writing. I wrote the last chapter like I did because well...that's what happened...there really wasn't any action between Hiei and Yusuke and I didn't think that it would change. Besides, Hiei's fights are normally fast and quick movements and stuff like that...I was only writing that scene how Hiei and Yusuke would of fought that first time, even if Kuwa was a factor or not, I doubt it would have made a tremendous difference at this time in the story, because Yusuke doesn't know his feelings for Kuwa yet, only that he feels that he should help him, and Hiei doesn't think that Yusuke is a real threat to his human so far; more so he is worried about Kurama taking Kuwa hahaha.
Well, now to the reviewers!!!
evol-
dude, that was the worst combat dialouge i have EVER seen and i actually enjoyed the whole fight scene because of its lameness. how...ironic? whatever!LOL!
w00t! im with wouldntUno or whatever her/his name is! this story is adddicting and its cute how u responed to each of ur reviewers. go u!
ooo, i wonder how kuwa will react to all this! hehe....
Me-
(sighs) Crap...I tried my best to describe what went on, I'm glad you still enjoyed it, but I'm upset it was the worst you had EVER seen....I hope this chapter makes up for this fight...Oh and if you really want to read a really REALLY good fight scene, read my other story A Dream Come True; that story actually has my better fight scenes that I write. I'm glad that you find my story addicting and cute how respond to everyone ^^. I like to make my reviewers feel special so I talk to them as if they were right in front of me ^^. Oh, well you will have to read the next chapter to see his reaction ^_~. ENJOY!!!
pumking-

ur fight scenes r....amusing.
Me-
Yeah I know hahaha, what irony! Well, actually, he wanted to help from the beginning, right after Hiei told Kuwa what he needed him for. But that will go into more detail later in this story ^_~. (tilts head to side) amusing? well....I guess they are in a way, but the one in this chapter should me more...interesting ^^. ENJOY!!!
sol-
damn, another cliffer clearly leading to anther flashback. sigh. oh well. nice fight scene and speech, hehe...omg, that was so bad it was great!
Me-
Hahahaha, sorry about that! I'm a cliffy person ^^ but don't worry, I'll try not to make EVERYSINGLE chapter end with a cliffy ^^;;; Don't worry, this flashback won't seem like a flash back ^_~. I'm glad you liked it...but...I still don't get how it was soo bad that it was great ^^;;; (sigh) well, I hope you don't think this fight scene is bad...I have better fight scenes in A Dream Come True, but that's a fighting story really and romantic...but more action...this is more....ummmm...well, to put it simply it's not going to be full of fighting ^^;; ok then. ENJOY!!!
Alright, that's it from my reviewers!!

Chapter 6: Kurama’s First Meeting of Hiei and Kuwabara
Hiei, thief; wielder of the evil eye, which grants various arcane abilities. The eye is a treasure he acquired…that is to say, stole for a specific purpose.
Kurama, a fox demon that possessed a human in utero. Suppressing his demonic powers, he lives among humans as Shuichi Minamino.
Kazuma Kuwabara, a human who has a very strong sixth sense. At the age of eleven he was kidnapped by Hiei who needed him to help find his twin sister who had been missing for two years already.
Here is the tale of how these three met.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In a near by school, children were enjoying the day of school where they didn’t have to wear the school uniform.
“What? Again?” asked a kid.
“Yeah. One of my brother’s classmates—been gone a week.” said another kid.
“Along with two other guys.” added another kid.
“They probably just took off, y’know?” said another. “I know I’d like to.”
“This town’s so dull…” complained another kid.
“Maybe they were ‘spirited away’!” said a blonde haired boy.
“Sure would explain all the recent disappearances!!” laughed a blonde hair girl.
“Ha! Figured you’d go for that!” laughed the boy.
“Not like Maya would!” said the blonde girl in defense. “Right?”
A beautiful girl with big brown eyes and black hair that was short and skinny didn’t pay any attention to the two blondes behind her; her attention was more on one Shuichi Minamino, the only kid that day that was wearing his school uniform, which looked nice with his short red hair.
“Shuichi!!! How ‘bout you?” the girl asked, catching Shuichi’s attention.
Shuichi turned towards the girl, silent at first.
“Maybe they just ran away.” He said.
“Oh, Shuichi, that’s boring! I figured abduction by….oh…ghosts, or aliens! Maybe a secret cult! That kinda thing!” the girl said, walking up to Shuichi.
“Hmm…seems unlikely.” Shuichi said.
“Ha! Not so!” the girl said. “There’s weird stuff everywhere!”
The blonde boy growled and slumped in his chair.
“Wot’s she see in ‘im…?”
“You still steamed Maya’s all goey over Minamino?” asked the girl with a smile.
“Well, he…he wears a uniform even when it’s NOT required! Who does THAT?!” said the boy, who seemed to be really annoyed at how Shuichi had the girl HE wanted.
“You’re just jealous.” said the girl.
‘Darn right!’ the boy thought as he threw his eraser at Shuichi who had his back turned away.
“Hey!” the girl shouted, though it was too late to stop him.
“Y’know, I’ve got a bit of sixth sense…” Maya said, the girl who was talking to Shuichi.
Without looking, Shuichi’s hand moved up, catching the eraser in his hand right before it could hit him in the back of his head. Shuichi brought it in front of him and looked at it.
“An eraser…” he said.
“Geeze…” the blonde guy said a bit freaked.
“Wow…” said the blonde girl, impressed.
After school, Shuichi was walking down the hallway, thinking over what had been going on.
“Missing people…it couldn’t be, but…an unreal miasma is building up around here…” Shuichi said.
He noticed a blob forming on the wall. He narrowed his eyes at it as it transformed into a head that had eyes and fangs.
“Kurama, you scum…” blorched the beast. “I’m gonna kill ya, I am! And then I’ll claim this town for the demon realm!”
“Slime ogre…you’re back. Forget the vow you made to me in exchange for not finishing you off?” said Shuichi who was also known as Kurama.
“I didn’t forget! But I’ve got a new ally, a real killer! We’ll get you this time!” the beast said before lunging past Kurama and out the window, shattering the glass as it left.
“I saw that!” was the last thing the beast said before disappearing back to his master.
‘A lesser demon, out for revenge that nearly killed him. That must be some ally he’s got.’ Kurama thought. ‘I’d rather not manifest my own powers…but if he’s declared this town his hunting ground…he’ll receive no mercy from the human side of the demon who protects it.’
He narrowed his eyes at the broken window.
“What was that A…a ghost?” came a familiar scared voice from behind him.
Kurama’s eyes widened before he turned to find his fears to be true. Maya had witness the beast and the confrontation.
“It was so….gross…and smelly! Are things like that always so repulsive?” Maya asked, her eyes looking innocently at Kurama.
“I’m sure you’re mistaken, Maya.” Kurama said, trying to dispel the mess.
‘She SAW it?! That’s not good! I was afraid of this…my presence has enhanced her sixth sense…!!’ Kurama thought.
“No, I’m NOT!” Maya shouted as she ran over to him. “It was there, clear as day!! And I heard you talk to it! You are in tune with the spirit world! Don’t deny it, Shuichi!”
Maya stopped in front of Kurama and folded her hands up with a huge smile on her face.
“First time I saw you, I knew you were different! I love the occult, so I’ve dreamed of meeting someone like you!” Maya said, before a light blush came to her face.
“And to think you’re also…my first love!!”
Kurama blinked at her, completely stunned at her straightforward confession. She looked back at him with a smile and a blush.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They had decided, more so Maya that it would be better to walk home together.
“So you had no idea…?” she asked, looking at Kurama.
“No, I’m sorry I didn’t.” he answered.
“Then...how do you feel…about me?” she asked, her cheeks becoming redder. “It’s okay…really! I’ll understand if you don’t…” she said, a smile on her face.
Kurama looks ahead, deep in thought.
‘I can’t tell you.’ He thought.
“I’m sorry…” he says to her, without even a glance.
‘It’s too dangerous to tell you…how I really feel…’ Kurama thought, his feelings for the girl having been kept up all this time until she confessed her own for him.
She frowned and looked down, hurt in her face.
“Okay…I….guess I’ll go home…” she said, stopping and starting to go in the opposite way he was going.
Kurama’s eyes widened as a powerful aura caught his attention. He grabbed Maya’s shoulder, stopping her in her tracks. She turned around, surprised and saw the fearful and tense look on Kurama’s face.
“Stay close to me…” he said, looking around with a critical eye.
‘I almost didn’t sense him!! What skill—and bloodlust! This may be serious trouble!’ Kurama thought.
Kurama’s eyes widened as he felt the attacker make his move. In a flash, he quickly picked up Maya and jumped to the side, just missing the slash of a sword. Both of their book bags dropped to the ground. Kurama slide a bit to a stop, glaring at the figure that looked a bit pissed.
Maya was too much in shock to really scream or really react.
“You okay?” Kurama asked, not taking his eyes off the black hair man, who wore a black outfit and had red eyes.
“I-I guess…” she said.
“You…dodged my stroke!” growled the red eyed demon.
“Are you okay?! He looks vicious!” Maya shouted, looking up at Kurama’s face which was filled with both worry and yet anticipation. “You’re awfully strong, though…” she said feeling as if she would melt at how brave he was.
“He is vicious—and cunning!” Kurama said.
Suddenly the figure disappeared. Kurama dropped Maya who fell to the ground with a thud and an ow.
Kurama moved his hand fast and in a matter of moments had grown a sword from a leave he caught falling from a near by tree. He extended the leaf sword and began to block the onward attack from his attacker, leading the fight a little away from the stunned Maya.
“Ah! Plants are your motif, I see!” the demon said, continuing to attack with his sword.
“Run, Maya!” Kurama shouted, never looking at her.
She sat there stunned and unable to move.
“Uh…um…”
‘Better lead him away.’ Kurama thought, before beginning to run, having the demon follow along side of him.
Kurama jumped into the trees, followed by the demon who kept up with him.
Maya sat there still stunned.
“Too weird…must be a dream…” she said.
If Kurama hadn’t rushed to conclusions, he would have realized how much danger Maya was there by her self.
However, Kurama and the demon continued to clang metal sword against plant sword.
“You’re good! Too good for eight-hands! Why do you serve him?” asked the demon, continuing his attack on the red head.
“What?! You’re kidding!” Kurama shouted “You mean eight-hands is in town?!”
The demon jumped back and looked at his opponent in disbelief.
“Wait a second! You didn’t know?!” the demon asked.
“I know now. Know this—I serve no one. This is where I live as a human.” Kurama said, dispelling his sword.
The demon sheathed his sword and hunched over a bit, a smirk on his lips.
“Well, this is me looking stupid…” he said before wobbling a bit, a drip of blood coming from a wound on his stomach.
‘Blood…?!’ Kurama thought before the demon collapsed unconscious.
‘Eight-hands…the eight-handed demon! That’s just great! I’m no match for him at my level…’ Kurama thought as he looked at the fallen demon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, at an abandoned mannequin factory off the out skirts of town was one unconscious Maya and an annoyed Kuwabara.
“Isn’t she a gem?” asked the slime who was after Kurama.
“Indeed, slime. Well done.” Eight-hands said.
“Bastards!” came a growl from a struggling Kuwabara.
The two demons turned to their bait set up for Hiei.
“Don’t you guys have any honor?! You got me, so why don’t you let that girl go!” growled Kuwabara.
“Heh, you should worry more about your own fate then this one, human. As we speak your master Hiei is too injured to come and save you; having run into one of my own slaves.” smirked the demon, “I can’t wait to enjoy the look of sheer terror as I make you apart of myself.”
“Bastard…I’ll kill you for hurting Hiei…” growled Kuwabara.
He had felt Hiei hurt through their connection, knowing that their words were true.
“She will make a fine repast, until then though. Her spiritual richness is deepening as we speak. My power will double if I devour her at the peak of ripeness, and it will quadruple once I devour Hiei’s slave…but…I’m hungry now, and I can’t devour the girl until her spiritual richness is at its peak…and I can’t eat Hiei’s pet until he can be here for the show…”
Kuwabara growled.
“If I wasn’t tied up and weak from that drug you guys gave me I’d kick yer asses!” Kuwabara shouted.
The demon growled and with one of his eight arms, strike Kuwabara across his face, sending him into the wall coughing out blood before his eyes rolled back into his head and passing out.
“Hehehe, nice shoot sir.” grinned the slime.
“Hehehe, I’m glad you found that entertaining…since it will be the last thing to comfort you before I make you part of me!” said eight-hands.
“Wh-what? Wait, I…” started the slime, however in an instant he was swallowed in one gulp.
“Filling…but hardly a delicacy. Female, human or demon, make the finest fare…though males with the hint of fear and pain are just as good…” grinned eight-hands as he licked his lips staring at the unconscious Kuwabara.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Somewhere else in the city, the demon lay on a bed, his eyes closed. He sat up, a pain going through his body.
“Kuwabara!” he shouted his eyes wide.
“Better already, I see. And after just four hours’ rest…” Kurama said, ignoring the cry from the demon, for the moment that is.
‘My wound…it’s healed.’ Hiei thought, looking down at the two gashes that were once on his chest.
“It was quite deep, so I treated it with an herb from the demon plane. Hope you don’t mind. You…uh…also talked in your sleep…about someone named Yukina…as well as someone named Kuwabara…and your evil eye…your aura indicates you got it quite recently. That’s not something one acquires without a compelling reason. Is there a link between this Yukina and Eight-hands or even more so this Kuwabara?” Kurama asked, looking at a pissed looking demon.
“That’s none of your business! In fact…I should kill you for what you know.” said the demon slipping on his komodo that was taken off for Kurama to treat his wounds.
The demon stood up and in an instant was at the window opening it up, Kurama sitting right next to it.
“But that would be ungrateful of me, so…let me warn you—your humanity will prove fatal one day.” The demon said, getting ready to leap out of the window.
“You’re going out to fight again? I’m not sure you’re ready.” Kurama said.
“This can’t wait, and neither can I. The more eight-hands eats, the stronger he gets.” The demon said.
“Will you at least leave me your name?” Kurama asked.
The demon was half way out the window before he stopped and glanced back at the one who had helped him.
“Hiei.”
With that Hiei was off, leaving Kurama behind to think over what he knew.
“So that’s the infamous Hiei. He has quite a rep on the demon plane. Still, I don’t think even he’s up to tackling eight-hands alone…” Kurama said, thinking aloud to himself.
He was snapped out of his thoughts as his phone rang. He went and answered it.
“Minamino residence.” Kurama answered.
Shuichi? This is Tasaka.” came a familiar blonde hair boy from school.
“Kitajima’s folks just called; she hasn’t come home yet. You wouldn’t know where she is, wouldya jerk-o?” asked the blonde.
Kurama’s eyes widened at hearing Maya’s last name.
‘The worst-case scenario—it’s happened…’ Kurama thought before telling the blonde boy he hadn’t but would look into it before hanging up.
“I’m coming with you.”
Hiei glanced behind him and noticed the red head following him.
“What’s fired you up, fox-boy?” Hiei asked, continuing his way to eight-hand’s lair.
“There’s a new wrinkle.” Kurama said.
“That girl, eh? You’re a softie.” Hiei snorted.
“You should talk, thief.” Kurama said.
“You’re starting to get on my nerves.” growled Hiei.
“Save that hostility for eight-hands.” Replied Kurama, both continuing their way towards the lair.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“A burnt-out factory…” Kurama said.
“…just the place for third rate demon trash to hand out.” Hiei growled.
‘Maya…!!’ Kurama thought as he looked around at the dark factory.
“Bastard….”
Both heard a weak voice not too far from them, Hiei gave a growl.
‘Hold on Kuwabara, I’m coming…’ Hiei thought, making his way towards the energy signature of his ‘slave’, Kurama following close behind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Shut up you stupid human slave!” growled Eight-hands.
“I-I’m warning you to back off…” growled Kuwabara, the pain from being slammed against the wall taking its effect on him.
“Hehehe, and what are you going to do about it you worthless piece of shit?” Eight-hands asked, turning back towards the girl. “Maybe I should just eat the girl right now, just to show you how I will devour you once you master comes to save you.”
The demon stopped as he felt a rise in spiritual power behind him.
“You take one step closer to that girl, and I swear I will kill you.” growled Kuwabara.
“You know what, you’re stating to get on my nerves human.” growled Eight-hands, turning towards Kuwabara.
Kuwabara growled.
“Well same could be said for you ya freak.”
Eight-hands growled and picked Kuwabara up by his neck, squeezing it.
“Forget this; I’ll just eat you now.” Eight-hands smirked.
‘…Hiei….’ Kuwabara thought before passing out from the lack of air.
“Let him go you son of a bitch.”
Eight-hands stopped and turned looking into the eyes of two very pissed off demons; one being in humanoid form.
“Hehehe, finally you come Hiei, I was starting to get worried my lackeys took care of you too well.” Eight-hands said, before tossing Kuwabara back into the wall, his body falling limp to the ground.
Hiei’s eyes flashed red as he charged the demon. The demon smirked and dodged the attack, before bringing one of his eight fists down. Hiei jumped back and away.
“Hehehe, why are you always such a constant pain in my side, eh? Don’t you just give up?” Eight-hands asked.
“Never have and I’m not starting now. Tell me, the ice maiden that you told my servant you ate—who was she?” Hiei asked.
“We weren’t properly introduced…heh heh hehe.” said Eight-hands.
“That girl you kidnapped today…where is she?!” Kurama growled fire in his eyes.
“You one of her little friends? Okay, I’ll give you a hint.” Eight-hands said, before picking up a bloody leg. “Know what this is?”
Kurama trembled in fury as he brought out his leaf sword and came at the demon, jumping into the air.
“YOU BEAST!!!” he shouted as he swung downwards on the beast; however it was blocked by one of Eight-hand’s claws.
Hiei struck on the other side; however his attack was blocked as well. With two extra hands, the demon whacked both of his opponents away.
“I could easily swat 200 runts like you!!” shouted Eight-hands.
‘Separate attacks are useless!!’ both Hiei and Kurama thought.
They looked at each other and with a nod at each other; both vanish and began to attack together.
“Impertinent microbes! You’re no better together!” shouted Eight-hands as he blocked both of their attacks.
Both backed off. Kurama suddenly turned towards Eight-hands, blocking Hiei from his view and charged the demon.
‘Where’s Hiei? Behind Kurama?’ thought Eight-hands. ‘Ho! That old ploy!’
Kurama moved and Eight-hands noticed someone in the air coming at him fast.
‘There he is! Leaping!’ Eight-hands thought.
Kurama screamed as he brought his leaf sword forward; however it was blocked by one of Eight-hand’s hands.
“Heh heh…so easy to parry!” Eight-hands said, before bringing his fist back. “No challenge at all…’cause I saw it comin’!!” he shouted, punching was looked to be Hiei.
However, the smashing of glass caught the demon off guard as a mannequin that wore Hiei’s cloak fell in pieces to the floor.
“What th--?! A doll decoy!!” shouted Eight-hands.
He looked up and saw the real Hiei coming down with his strike.
“Aw spit…” said the demon, ignoring Kurama as he watched his doom come down on him; Kurama slicing Eight-hand’s middle while Hiei sliced off his head from the neck up, landing behind the demon.
“I’m impressed.” said the dying demon. “…so I’ll answer your questions! The girl is safe…and I never partook of an ice maiden. If I had eaten something so fine…you’d be the ones…on the ground…in pieces…”
Kurama and Hiei both looked down at the demon that was soaked in his own blood.
‘Bah! Another dead-end…’ thought Hiei before looking over to where Kuwabara lay, unconscious.
He gave a sigh before going over to his slave, picking him up.
Kurama went to Maya and picked her up, carrying her piggy back. She awoke blinking and tired.
“Uh…huh? Minamino…what…? Oh, I see…a dream…” she said before laying her head back against his back.
‘That’s right, a dream…that you’ll forget when you wake up.’ Kurama thought.
‘This one smells nice…’ Maya thought before falling to sleep.
‘You’ll forget your feelings for me, as well.’ Kurama thought.
“Dream flower pollen…to erase memories.” Hiei said.
Kurama turned and found Hiei not carrying his servant, Kuwabara anymore.
“How is Kuwabara?” Kurama asked.
Hiei snorted.
“He’ll live.”
Kurama gave a weak smile, before looking ahead.
“Why did you use that plant?” Hiei asked.
“It’s better this way…” Kurama said, not looking at Hiei.
“As you say…” Hiei said before turning to look at Kurama.
“By the way, care to leave me your name?” Hiei asked, having never officially learned his new ‘allies’ name.
“Kurama.” Kurama answered as he continued to walk towards Maya’s house.
And so a budding romance between Maya and Kurama was cut short. With Maya none the wiser. Hiei continued his search for Yukina, with the help of Kuwabara, who had lost all rights to going out of at least 10 meters of Hiei’s sight. A year later, Kurama and Hiei joined forces with Goki, hence bringing them up to date in this story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kurama finished his story and looked at Yusuke and Botan, who were both taken back by the story.
“Talk about your classic romance tragedies…” Yusuke said.
“That’s just so sad…” sniffed Botan.
Kurama sighed having a feeling this was the type of reaction he would receive from the story.
“Yes, well, it’s better this way.” Kurama said.
“But, that’s still wrong…” Yusuke said, however a familiar aura caught his and Kurama’s attention.
“It couldn’t be…” Kurama said turning his head towards the area Yusuke had left the unconscious Hiei.
“It’s him…” Yusuke said, standing up.
“Him? Him who?” asked Botan, having sensed the presence, but didn’t know who it was.
“Stay here, Botan, and make sure Keiko is alright, alright?” Yusuke said starting to walk in the direction he had left Hiei.
“Hey, wait, Yusuke!” Botan said, but was ignored.
She huffed and turned to Kurama, who was starting to get up.
“Kurama, you shouldn’t move you’re too injured to…” Botan started.
“I’m fine.” Kurama said, giving Botan a smile. “I’m going to go help Yusuke.”
“Help him with what?” Botan asked, not liking being out of the loop.
“You’ll know soon enough.” Kurama said before giving her one last smile before going towards the door of the warehouse, intending to block it off.
‘Oh, be careful…’ thought Botan as she looked on with a worried look.
A beautiful girl with big brown eyes and black hair that was short and skinny didn’t pay any attention to the two blondes behind her; her attention was more on one Shuichi Minamino, the only kid that day that was wearing his school uniform, which looked nice with his short red hair.
“Shuichi!!! How ‘bout you?” the girl asked, catching Shuichi’s attention.
Shuichi turned towards the girl, silent at first.
“Maybe they just ran away.” He said.
“Oh, Shuichi, that’s boring! I figured abduction by….oh…ghosts, or aliens! Maybe a secret cult! That kinda thing!” the girl said, walking up to Shuichi.
“Hmm…seems unlikely.” Shuichi said.
“Ha! Not so!” the girl said. “There’s weird stuff everywhere!”
The blonde boy growled and slumped in his chair.
“Wot’s she see in ‘im…?”
“You still steamed Maya’s all goey over Minamino?” asked the girl with a smile.
“Well, he…he wears a uniform even when it’s NOT required! Who does THAT?!” said the boy, who seemed to be really annoyed at how Shuichi had the girl HE wanted.
“You’re just jealous.” said the girl.
‘Darn right!’ the boy thought as he threw his eraser at Shuichi who had his back turned away.
“Hey!” the girl shouted, though it was too late to stop him.
“Y’know, I’ve got a bit of sixth sense…” Maya said, the girl who was talking to Shuichi.
Without looking, Shuichi’s hand moved up, catching the eraser in his hand right before it could hit him in the back of his head. Shuichi brought it in front of him and looked at it.
“An eraser…” he said.
“Geeze…” the blonde guy said a bit freaked.
“Wow…” said the blonde girl, impressed.
After school, Shuichi was walking down the hallway, thinking over what had been going on.
“Missing people…it couldn’t be, but…an unreal miasma is building up around here…” Shuichi said.
He noticed a blob forming on the wall. He narrowed his eyes at it as it transformed into a head that had eyes and fangs.
“Kurama, you scum…” blorched the beast. “I’m gonna kill ya, I am! And then I’ll claim this town for the demon realm!”
“Slime ogre…you’re back. Forget the vow you made to me in exchange for not finishing you off?” said Shuichi who was also known as Kurama.
“I didn’t forget! But I’ve got a new ally, a real killer! We’ll get you this time!” the beast said before lunging past Kurama and out the window, shattering the glass as it left.
“I saw that!” was the last thing the beast said before disappearing back to his master.
‘A lesser demon, out for revenge that nearly killed him. That must be some ally he’s got.’ Kurama thought. ‘I’d rather not manifest my own powers…but if he’s declared this town his hunting ground…he’ll receive no mercy from the human side of the demon who protects it.’
He narrowed his eyes at the broken window.
“What was that A…a ghost?” came a familiar scared voice from behind him.
Kurama’s eyes widened before he turned to find his fears to be true. Maya had witness the beast and the confrontation.
“It was so….gross…and smelly! Are things like that always so repulsive?” Maya asked, her eyes looking innocently at Kurama.
“I’m sure you’re mistaken, Maya.” Kurama said, trying to dispel the mess.
‘She SAW it?! That’s not good! I was afraid of this…my presence has enhanced her sixth sense…!!’ Kurama thought.
“No, I’m NOT!” Maya shouted as she ran over to him. “It was there, clear as day!! And I heard you talk to it! You are in tune with the spirit world! Don’t deny it, Shuichi!”
Maya stopped in front of Kurama and folded her hands up with a huge smile on her face.
“First time I saw you, I knew you were different! I love the occult, so I’ve dreamed of meeting someone like you!” Maya said, before a light blush came to her face.
“And to think you’re also…my first love!!”
Kurama blinked at her, completely stunned at her straightforward confession. She looked back at him with a smile and a blush.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, at an abandoned mannequin factory off the out skirts of town was one unconscious Maya and an annoyed Kuwabara.
“Isn’t she a gem?” asked the slime who was after Kurama.
“Indeed, slime. Well done.” Eight-hands said.
“Bastards!” came a growl from a struggling Kuwabara.
The two demons turned to their bait set up for Hiei.
“Don’t you guys have any honor?! You got me, so why don’t you let that girl go!” growled Kuwabara.
“Heh, you should worry more about your own fate then this one, human. As we speak your master Hiei is too injured to come and save you; having run into one of my own slaves.” smirked the demon, “I can’t wait to enjoy the look of sheer terror as I make you apart of myself.”
“Bastard…I’ll kill you for hurting Hiei…” growled Kuwabara.
He had felt Hiei hurt through their connection, knowing that their words were true.
“She will make a fine repast, until then though. Her spiritual richness is deepening as we speak. My power will double if I devour her at the peak of ripeness, and it will quadruple once I devour Hiei’s slave…but…I’m hungry now, and I can’t devour the girl until her spiritual richness is at its peak…and I can’t eat Hiei’s pet until he can be here for the show…”
Kuwabara growled.
“If I wasn’t tied up and weak from that drug you guys gave me I’d kick yer asses!” Kuwabara shouted.
The demon growled and with one of his eight arms, strike Kuwabara across his face, sending him into the wall coughing out blood before his eyes rolled back into his head and passing out.
“Hehehe, nice shoot sir.” grinned the slime.
“Hehehe, I’m glad you found that entertaining…since it will be the last thing to comfort you before I make you part of me!” said eight-hands.
“Wh-what? Wait, I…” started the slime, however in an instant he was swallowed in one gulp.
“Filling…but hardly a delicacy. Female, human or demon, make the finest fare…though males with the hint of fear and pain are just as good…” grinned eight-hands as he licked his lips staring at the unconscious Kuwabara.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“A burnt-out factory…” Kurama said.
“…just the place for third rate demon trash to hand out.” Hiei growled.
‘Maya…!!’ Kurama thought as he looked around at the dark factory.
“Bastard….”
Both heard a weak voice not too far from them, Hiei gave a growl.
‘Hold on Kuwabara, I’m coming…’ Hiei thought, making his way towards the energy signature of his ‘slave’, Kurama following close behind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kurama finished his story and looked at Yusuke and Botan, who were both taken back by the story.
“Talk about your classic romance tragedies…” Yusuke said.
“That’s just so sad…” sniffed Botan.
Kurama sighed having a feeling this was the type of reaction he would receive from the story.
“Yes, well, it’s better this way.” Kurama said.
“But, that’s still wrong…” Yusuke said, however a familiar aura caught his and Kurama’s attention.
“It couldn’t be…” Kurama said turning his head towards the area Yusuke had left the unconscious Hiei.
“It’s him…” Yusuke said, standing up.
“Him? Him who?” asked Botan, having sensed the presence, but didn’t know who it was.
“Stay here, Botan, and make sure Keiko is alright, alright?” Yusuke said starting to walk in the direction he had left Hiei.
“Hey, wait, Yusuke!” Botan said, but was ignored.
She huffed and turned to Kurama, who was starting to get up.
“Kurama, you shouldn’t move you’re too injured to…” Botan started.
“I’m fine.” Kurama said, giving Botan a smile. “I’m going to go help Yusuke.”
“Help him with what?” Botan asked, not liking being out of the loop.
“You’ll know soon enough.” Kurama said before giving her one last smile before going towards the door of the warehouse, intending to block it off.
‘Oh, be careful…’ thought Botan as she looked on with a worried look.
