Knowing Friends

A/N: There is a slight change on the pairings here. The story will end as; Kurama/Yusuke/Keiko, Kagome/Hiei and Kagome/Yukina. Before anyone thinks of flaming me, there will be no incest. If someone doesn't like these pairings I suggest reading another story. I don't wanna see any flames about two siblings liking the same person either. It is possible, and tends to happen where some siblings are concerned. For those that don't mind the pairings I hope you enjoy!

Chapter Six

"Glad you're back, dinner arrived while you two were gone." Keiko walked up to Yusuke giving him a quick kiss on the mouth. "Kagome came by to talk Shuichi, I think."

"I didn't know you knew him." Kuwabara looked down at the girl in his arms, "When did you two meet?" He lifted his brow in question.

"I don't, now put me down please. You are killing my ribs." She took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure. "I called the number you gave me, I was given this address. Hope you don't mind, I wanted to talk to Yusuke actually."

"Alright but how long have you known these two?"

"Oh, I met Keiko first in high school about four years ago. I wasn't around much but we became friends then. I met Kuzuma not long after that." Kagome explained, hoping they wouldn't bring up her 'missing school.'

"Yeah, she missed more school than you did before you actually dropped out." Keiko added remembering having to drop off the homework she missed.

"Hey, that's not fair she was sick. Yurameshi wasn't sick he'd just cut, there's a difference. Poor girl is lucky to be alive." Kuwabara walked into the kitchen to search the fridge. "Empty, I'm not suprised."

"Right she was probably lying about being sick so she could ditch." Yusuke walked up to her, wanting to get a good look at her. "Come with me, we'll talk in my room." She nodded, he walked past her leaving a gaping Kuwabara and Keiko.

"Did I miss something or should Keiko be really jealous right about now?" He scratched his head and turned to Kurama for answers.

"Wait a minute, is that her Kurama?" Keiko started putting two and two together. "Is that why she was looking for you?"

"Yes, I gave her a card. No doubt, they are discussing it. I'm sure it will be awhile before they come back out for dinner." Kurama looked in the top cabinets for some dishes to use. "Might as well fix the table while we wait."

"Wait a minute what am I missing?" Kuwabara felt like he'd just walked in during the middle of the movie. "Okay, fess up one of you."

"I won't go into details right now and this doesn't go any further. She's his sister, don't say anything especially in front of Atsuko if she returns. I'll explain everything to you later on, we just found her today so they will need to get use to the idea first." Kurama fixed the table while Keiko prepared some glasses.

"That's odd, I've known Kagome for years. I've met her family, I use to take her homework to the shrine all the time. I've would have never thought about her being related to Yusuke. Not to mention his twin, it's all kind of mind boggling." Keiko set the glasses down.

"She's his twin?"

"Yes, she is. It's really complicated but the truth." Kurama tried to smile as he finished making the table. His thoughts kept returning to what had happened earlier. He tried to bring it up in the car but Yusuke told him to forget about it. He wasn't sure if the boy blamed him for it happening or if he was angry at himself. He thought of doing what he had originally planned and head into the Makai for now. Keiko would surely be around so Yusuke wouldn't need him to be here. He would just be in the way, making things more stressful for the man. After dinner he would let him know that he was leaving.

Kagome sat on the bed looking at the documents handed to her. They looked genuine, maybe it was true. Even if it was, there was nothing they could do about it. Too much time had gone past and she had a family. "What does your mother think of all this?"

"She doesn't know, I don't plan on telling her. No need to give her another reason to drink." He sat in the chair with his hands folded behind his head. "No matter what we decide to do about it I don't want her to know. I don't think she could handle it."

"Yeah same goes for my family, I don't want them to know. This is to be kept between us please." She fidgeted on the bed hoping he'd agree to it. She wouldn't have her family hurt over this.

"I can deal with that, though I'm sure all my friends will know soon."

"So, what do you want to do about this?" Kagome stood up putting the papers back down.

"Hell I don't know, I got too many problems to worry about without this." He flinched at the look on her face.

"Well don't let me be a problem for you. After all it was you that came to find me." She pointed a finger at him and started yelling. "Maybe you should have thought about this before you decided to blurt the truth out to me."

"I never think," He smirked and started laughing. "I'm sure something will come to me, always does. So you wanna go get some dinner before Kuwabara eats it all?"

"Sure, I wasn't able to eat much earlier." Kagome tried to smile at him. He opened the door for her waiting for her to exit. "Just don't start trying to tell me what to do."
