Scene 55 ------------------------------------------- The Livingroom

* When Yusuke comes out into the livingroom he finds Yomi and Kurama relaxing on the couch obviously chatting about old times when they were thieves. The talking stops, though, and Kurama looks toward Yusuke when they sense him.


Yusuke- Where's Koenma?

Kurama- He and Yukina are in the kitchen.


* Yusuke goes over to stand in front of them. He looks at Yomi.


Yusuke- You two go ahead and keep chatting.. Hiei wore himself out and needs to rest a bit.

Yomi- I can wait.


* Yusuke leans and catches with a deep kiss that makes Yomi's ears wiggle. The Toushin half smirks toward the goat when he straightens back up leaving Kurama breathless.


Yusuke- Love you, Foxy.


* Kurama nods. Yusuke turns and heads toward the kitchen, knowing that the kitsune's golden eyes are following him. When Yomi chuckles quietly Kurama backhands him in the chest. When Yusuke reaches the kitchen doorway he pauses to watch Koenma pour Yukina a cup of tea as they talk quietly.


Koenma- (Quietly) It doesn't surprise me that Hiei would have noticed right away.

Yukina- (Quietly) I didn't expect him to wake up.. I knew it would upset him.

Koenma- (Quietly) Yukina, they're all bound to find out sooner or later.. Maybe you should just come clean with them.


* Yukina looks up at Koenma.


Yukina- (Quietly) Do you really think they'd understand?


* Koenma sets the teapot aside.


Koenma- (Quietly) I know Yusuke's been going out of his way to make sure Hiei feels at home here..


* Yusuke moves to the cupboard to get himself a cup.


Yusuke- Is there some reason why I shouldn't?


* He moves to the table. Koenma and Yukina glance at him as he comes over. Then Yukina lowers her eyes timidly when he sits down across from her. Yusuke motions for Koenma to pour him a cup of tea, too.


Koenma- No, of course there isn't, Yusuke.


* Koenma pours Yusuke the tea.


Koenma- In fact, I commend you for being so accepting considering everything he's gone through.

Yusuke- I'm not gonna beat around the bush, here.. You..


* He looks up at the Teen.


Yusuke- Need to go up and grill that demon Yomi and I just sent up..

Koenma- I put a tracer on him as soon as Kurama came back up here.. Grill him?

Yusuke- Yeah. I need to know if he was the mastermind behind the assassination attempt or just another croney.

Koenma- Oh, I see.. And then what should I do with him after I.. grill him?

Yusuke- Ship his a-- to h---.


* When Koenma turns to leave Yukina starts to stand to follow.


Yusuke- You..


* Yusuke looks at her.


Yusuke- Need to sit down and stay put.


* Koenma turns back.


Koenma- Yusuke,..

Yusuke- I'm not going to hurt her, Junior.. She and I need to talk.. Don't we, Yukina?


* After a moment Yukina lowers her eyes again, but nods. Koenma sighs and continues on out. Yusuke sips at his tea, then stares down into the cup for a moment.


Yusuke- You know, I was nieve at one time about the ways of the world.. But that was years ago.. Since then I've died.. twice, became Junior's lackey, got fired from being Junior's lackey.. I killed too many demons to keep track of, then I became one myself..


* Yusuke raises his eyes to look at Yukina.


Yusuke- I've seen things that would give most humans heart attacks.. These past couple years or so, especially have been mostly h--- for me.. If it weren't for Kurama and the kits, I don't know where I'd be right now.

Yukina- (Quietly) Partly why I didn't want to burden you any more with this..

Yusuke- Burden? Sis, I've carried one of those around ever since this whole mess started.. So, what? You and Hiei were in a cage together.. and things happened.. Hiei was in Heat so the two of you couldn't keep your hands off..


* Yukina's cheek flush deeply pink.


Yukina- No.. That's not the way it happened at all..

Yusuke- I was there, Yukina.. I was put in a cell with Hiei after that creep brought him into heat.. I caught his scent and.. I ended up raping him.. twice..

Yukina- Hiei did not rape me.. There was no shame in what we did according to Fire customs..

Yusuke- Yeah.. I know that.. Same goes for his trysts with Ryuji..


* Yukina's eyes widen a moment, then she lowers them.


Yusuke- The only difference.. is that you're..


* Yukina closes her eyes.


Yukina- Yes.. Hiei and I kissed and now I'm pregnant.


* For several moments neither speaks. Finally, Yusuke tilts his head and leans closer to her.


Yusuke- You.. kissed..


* Yukina nods.


Yusuke- Yukina, I have.. six.. seven kids.. Believe me, I know how they're created.


* Again, Yukina lowers her eyes with a blush on her cheeks.


Yukina- But that's not the way.. koorimes.. procreate.. For us, only a kiss from someone we love..

Yusuke- Ohh, yeah.. I forgot about that interesting tidbit.. But don't koorimes only do that once every 100 years or something like that?

Yukina- Unfortunately, I'm also part fire, Yusuke.. But besides that, there's another littke known fact about koorime reproduction..


* Yukina grows quiet. Yusuke sighs.


Yusuke- If you don't trust me, don't say it, Sis.


* The ice maiden raises her eyes to study Yusuke a moment.


Yukina- Of course I trust you.. I've seen how much you care for my brother..


* Out of reflex, Yukina glances toward the doorway, then leans closer to speak to Yusuke quietly.


Yukina- (Quietly) If this fact got out, Koorime Island would be pillaged mercilessly.. If a koorime has.. relations.. of any.. sexual nature.. with any other demon in heat.. they will produce no matter what the year.. This is what happened with our mother..


* Yusuke raises a hand to rub his chin thoughtfully. Slowly he nods.


Yusuke- Okay. I get it.. So since Hiei was in heat.. and the two of you kissed..

Yukina- Yes.


* Yusuke sighs. For a couple moments, they just sip their teas. Then Yusuke looks at her again.


Yusuke- You plan to keep?

Yukina- Yes.. This will probably be my only child.


* Yusuke nods.


Yusuke- Hiei knows?

Yukina- He does now.. It's what had him so upset.. He feels as if he's.. violated me.

Yusuke- And what do you see it as?


* Yukina thinks seriously a couple moments.


Yukina- I see this child the same as I do Kasaba.. An unexpected blessing.


* She smiles up at Yusuke briefly, then lowers her eyes again.


Yukina- It certainly wasn't created to spite you, Yusuke.

Yusuke- I wouldn't even dare think that, Yukina.. I know you too well.


* Yusuke reaches across and lays his hand on hers.


Yusuke- Look, Hiei just needs time.. In the meantime, if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask.. That's an order.


* Yukina smiles up at him brightly, but it dims a little as she watches him stand to leave. At the doorway he pauses to look back at her.


Yusuke- D---, we demons really do multiply like rabbits.


* To this statement, Yumina truly does have to giggle. Yusuke smirks and leaves.
