A Dream Come True

 

Hey everyone! Soooo sorry about the wait but this took me a while to write. I was trying to figure out how to write this. I am getting closer to the end of this chapter and I'm still debating whether I should have a sequel. I know I said there would be one, however I don't have ideas really for that. This story was originally not suppose to have a sequel, however my friend said I should and started helping me write that but I really don't think I can write another long ass story like this is haha. Plus I have sooo many other OC/YYH Character pairing stories that I want to write. >.> you all didn't know that haha but I want to do all forms, even gay pairings! ^^. I thought it wasn't fair that there are soooo many girlinsert/YYH Character pairings. I'm sure there are a lot of gay and even lesbian readers and they need there own insert self stories made. So after this is done I will work on one of those ^_^.

Now before I ramble on....I hope you guys enjoy this story ^^. (By the way, this chapter changed mid way....not where you will think but I got a major idea which I think will help me write maybe even more chapters but we will see what happens.)

Chapter 53: Decisions Aren't Easy

You stared up at the ceiling in Kuwabara's room. It had been two and a half weeks since the whole Sensui episode had ended. A lot of things had happened with in the first week. The markings on both you and Yusuke had disappeared, however your hair was still that light blue color. You twirled the now shoulder blade length strain of hair between your fingers. Kurama had cut Yusuke's long locks and had offered to cut yours as well and get a hair dye kit to change your hair back. However, you declined his offer of the hair dye. You always like the thought of having an off color hair color like in the animes you watched. You also thought it was about time for a change, so you asked him to cut it to your shoulders. You were going to need a hair cut anyway soon as it was already to the middle of your back before you turned super demon. You smiled at the play of words.

The second week, Kuwabara started to work on hitting the books. He was more than determined to pass his High School exams and leave Middle School; on the road to being an honorable man. You smiled at how hard Kuwabara was working to bring his grades up. He wanted to do something more with his life and had even decided on his field of work. You chuckled at the thought of Kuwabara wearing a white coat and that funny hat those dentist would wear in some of the movies. You had decided not to try out for High School. You had enough school for a lifetime and you were still kicking yourself for going back through it. Although, being able to go back through it with Kuwabara and Yusuke made it better that second time around.

You let out a sigh and let go of the strain of hair and looked at your hand.

'So where does this leave me?' you thought.

'What does this mean for me? Am I really a demon now? Should I go with Yusuke to the demon world or just stay here? And what if I go back home soon, what will happen? Will I still be a demon or will I go back to being normal, boring, old (YFN)?'

During that first week, for Yusuke anyway; he had been having trouble with letting go all that had happened in the demon realm. You didn't know much of what Yusuke had done as he wasn't around much that first week and a half. However, he had come to you with an option.

 

Flashback~

“Hey.” Yusuke said, catching you a bit off guard as you were walking home from school.

“BIG BRO!!” you shouted before giving him a tackle hug.

He laughed as he caught you and still was able to stand on his feet.

“Where have you been?!” you shouted giving him a pout and a poke to his nose.

“Doing stuff....I have to ask you something tho...I don't need the answer yet but just hear me out k?” he said, his face getting serious.

You blinked up at him. You could sense something was up.

“Um okay.” you said before pulling yourself off him.

You looked up at him with a curious look. He looked down at you with a serious look.

“Well, I've been invited to go to the demon world.”

You raised an eye brow.

“Huh? By who? And what do you mean 'invited'? What is it, like a party?” You said, sarcasm in your voice as you put your hands on your hips.

“Well, to make a long story short...I went to seek help about finding myself when these guys from the demon world came. They came with a message from my 'father'.” Yusuke said with an even more serious face.

Your eyes widen. You weren't sure if it was the blood that the two of you shared or if it was the fact you knew Yusuke very well or a little bit of both. However, you knew exactly what he was saying.

“They want you to go to the demon world to train with him....” you said.

Yusuke blinked a bit surprised but it didn't last long before he smiled.

“You are definitely my lil sis. Yes, but there was more....” he said looking away.

“Huh? What do you mean?” you asked tilting your head to the side.

“Well...they also invited you. You have my blood in you so that makes you his daughter by default or something like that; or so he said.”

You were stunned. You stood there in silence. You could have sworn you felt a breeze go through you.

“What?”

“You don't have to let me know right now...I arranged with Koenma to open up a portal to the demon world so I can go there next week. You can let me know by then but...I would love if you go with me.” he said with a smile.

 

~End Flashback~

You continued to stare at your hand as you wondered what to do.

It was at this time, Kuwabara walked into the room carrying a tray of food.

“Hey (YAFF)-chan, I didn't know what you wanted so I got my sis to make us some sandwiches...” Kuwabara said with a huge grin however, it fell from his face when he saw you on his bed.

You had looked so down. Kuwabara stared at you for a moment, as you rested your hand on your stomach.

“Thanks.” you said with a sigh, “But I'm not really that hungry.”

“That's what you've said the last few days. It's not like you. Usually you would be stuffing your face by now complaining that I didn't feed you enough...” Kuwabara said but shut up after getting a killer look from you.

He gave a nervous chuckle and sweat drop, waving his one hand in the air while he held the tray with his other.

“Just kidding, just kidding....” he said before turning a worried look at you.

“What's wrong?” Kuwabara asked while setting the tray on his desk before sitting next to you on the bed.

You let out another sigh and went back to looking at his ceiling.

“I don't know. I've been...thinking a lot lately. Like about how my body has changed as well as the rest of me...I don't know...” you said not knowing what to say or how to explain how you felt.

Kuwabara looked down at you for a moment before lying next to you and looking up at the ceiling with you.

“A lot has happened since that day we first met. And you're body did just go through a huge change. Maybe you do need is to rest and let your body adjust to this. Although, we've been through a lot of stuff over this past year and a half so on top of that, you might need to just take a break.” Kuwabara said with his own sigh.

“It's been that long?” you said with wide eyes and looking over at Kuwabara.

Kuwabara chuckled and closed his eyes with a smile on his lips.

“Felt shorter than that didn't it? Time does fly when you're having to fight for your life.” he said with another chuckle.

“Man, you can say that again...” you said going back to looking up at the ceiling.

“But...” you started, causing Kuwabara to glance over at you. “I wouldn't change anything.”

You turned towards him and gave him a smile. He gave you one back as he turned towards you. Before you knew it, Kuwabara had you pulled into his chest and rested his head on top of yours.

You had epped at the sudden movement but were blushing fiercely as well as confused.

“W-what are....” You began.

“(YAFF)-chan...I...I...” he started.

Your heart felt like it was about to stop. Your entire body froze up. Was he going to tell you that he loved you? Was your dream coming true? After all this time, was it really the fact that you had to 'die' for him to express his feelings for you? Or was it all just your imagination?

“Awwwwwwwwwww that's sooooo kawaiiiii!!!”

The two of you jumped up and while you fell back on the bed, poor Kuwabara wasn't so lucky as he had fell off the bed. You sat up and looked in the direction of the voice. There floating in the window was Botan on her oar!

“BOTAN!” you both shouted as you looked at her.

She sat on her oar giggling.

“Sorry to interrupt the moment there.” she said, her face turning into a cat as her hand turned to paw as she did her famous innocent cat look.

She then got serious.

“You guys have to come with me.” she said.

“Huh? What's up?” Kuwabara asked getting up off the floor and walking towards the window.

You also looked confused until you realized today was the day that Yusuke was going away. You then gasped. Kuwabara didn't know!! Your eyes grew wide before they turned pissed. Kuwabara had told Yusuke to not keep things from him, ever since the Genkai incident back in the Dark Tourney. Well you weren't gonna do that again either to him.

“I know.” you said making Kuwabara turn around to look at you.

Botan let out a sigh of relief. Yusuke had told HER to tell him and you seem to be saving her from spilling those beans.

“You aren't gonna like this...” you started out, fidgeting a bit.

“But I've known for a while but I THOUGHT he had told you. But now it looks like he hasn't so I will have to.” you said with a sigh.

You braced yourself as you got ready to tell Kuwabara the 'dreadful' news, tho that would be from his opinion.

 

You watched the scene before you with a wince on your face and a sensation of wanting to close your eyes. However, you knew that it was his fault for not telling Kuwabara and so you really didn't feel too badly for him.

“What the hell man!” Kuwabara continued yelling as he had Yusuke by the collar of his shirt.

After you had told him the entire deal, even the part of you having to decide to join Yusuke or not, he flipped out and demanded Botan to bring you and himself to confront his best friend. From the moment he jumped off the back of Botan's ore to this very minute, he had yelled and screamed at the oddly silent young man. It had been going on for the past 15 minutes and felt like and looked like it would continue for another.

“How selfish can you be?! I thought you gave up that idea! What about Keiko? What about your life here?! And the nerve of you to even ASK (YAFF)-chan to go with you! Did you even THINK about HER feelings on it? Did you even THINK about anything BUT yourself?!” Kuwabara growled.

Yusuke just looked at him with a blank look. It was the same one he had carried for the last 15 minutes and it didn't look like any of what Kuwabara was saying was getting through to the boy. Kuwabara growled in disgust at realizing that Yusuke had made up his mind and nothing he or anyone else said mattered at this point.

“Tsh.” he snorted out before pushing Yusuke away in disgust.

His hands clenched up at his sides and his body began to shake. He lowered his head and closed his eyes. You hadn't seen him this pissed since the dark tournament, when he found out Genkai was killed.

“And what about you two?” Kuwabara said.

You glanced over to where Kurama and Hiei were. Kurama was hiding in the shadow of the old temple, leaning against it with his arms crossed. Hiei jumped down from the branch he was sitting on and walked over to stand next to you. You had sensed the two of them when you had first landed. You were only mildly surprised to see Kuwabara had also sensed their presence, even through his rage.

“I'll take your silence as a yes.”

Both of them continued to be silent. You glanced at Hiei, who appeared to be annoyed, but you could tell he was actually paying close attention to Kuwabara's words.

“Not like it should surprise me. But I thought that maybe, MAYBE after all we've been through that you guys would be done with this kind of thing. Do you even realize what you agreed to?” Kuwabara asked, looking around at the three demons.

Another round of silence. Kuwabara growled and clenched his fists even harder.

“You do realize that if you are all going to be working for a demon, that you would all be against each other? Tho, I'm sure none of you thought about that because you were thinking with your demon brains and not your normal ones.”

Hiei snorted.

“So that would make your brain non-existent?”

Kuwabara turned a glare towards Hiei. Hiei stared back, expecting a come back from the tall teen.

However all Kuwabara did was snort at the small demon and turn his attention towards Kurama. This had caused you to worry a bit. Kuwabara was taking this harder than you had ever thought. You wondered what you should do. You had already made up your mind, but you weren't sure how your answer would go.

“What about you? What are you gonna tell your mom? What about her wedding? What about your step brother? Haven't you thought about all of that? Hiei I can understand but you Kurama? You have stuff that ties you here.” Kuwabara said with a straight face.

Kurama looked Kuwabara straight back in his eyes.

“I'm going to be going back and forth between worlds. I already arranged for my mother and her new husband to go on a two month honeymoon. As for my new little brother...well, he's not that much younger than myself. I will look in on him from time to time.”

Kuwabara lowered his head and chuckled.

“Heh, so like you to already figure everything out. But that doesn't mean I still don't like it...none of it.” he said.

You let out a sigh and went over to the man who you've grown so close to, have grown to love. You understood how hard it must be for him. You had all gone through so much and for them to go off and separate and act like nothing had ever happened; by joining opposite sides. Well, you could understand why he was upset.

“It will be alright.” you said, resting your hand on his back.

“They know what they are doing and are willing to take responsibility for what they've chosen. You should have more faith in them, all of them.” you said with a smile on your face.

Kuwabara let out a sigh before turning hurt eyes towards you, causing you to look up at him with concern.

“So what about you?”

You blinked at him a bit confused.

“If you're saying that I gotta trust their choice...then I want to know what you choose.” he said turning around to face you.

You stood there not knowing what to say. You had already decided a while ago but you found that you weren't ready to face that answer. Yusuke was also looking at you but more of a pleading way. Hiei and Kurama stared intently at you as if you were that last piece to a bigger puzzle and were waiting to see what the puzzle would look like.

You let out a sigh and opened your mouth.

“Would anyone like some tea?”

You fell over along with Kuwabara and Yusuke. Hiei and Kurama both sweat dropped and there was poor innocent Yukina with a tray of tea; a smile on her face.

Genkai let out a sigh and shook her head however smiled. It broke away most of the tension however, poor Yukina was left with a tray full of tea that was starting to get cold.

“I would like some actually...” came one of the Spirit World Defense Squad members.

You all turned to glare at the young man who had his hand raised but slowly put it back down, especially when the leader of the group gave him a glare.

Genkai went up to Yukina.

“Why not.” she said taking a cup and sipping.

All of this was unsettling for her nerves. She didn't know how much she could take. However, she did agree with Kuwabara. Everyone was going in with their own motives and it caused them to all be on opposite sides. But she also knew that you were right. They had gone through so much that when it came to it, it would be fine.

Kuwabara cleared his voice, breaking the silence.

“So...” he started.

However, before he could finish his sentence you held his hand and looked up at him.

“I'm staying.”

Everyone was silent.

Kuwabara blinked down at you. He was actually surprised. He was expecting you to say that you were leaving. He has an entire speech planed in his head and everything. He was gonna tell you that you had been through enough and that you should stay and rest. But it seemed that he got to save his breath. His face brightened and a huge smile crossed his face.

“Really?” he said, a little doubt in his voice.

You smiled up at him and gave a nod.

“Sure, I would love the experience of exploring the demon world, however I think a little bit of r and r is what I need right now. I've had too much excitement and I think anymore will cause me to explode.” you said with a small laugh.

“But...”

You turned to find a pouting Yusuke. It seemed he really wanted you to go along with him and become a dynamic duo and kick the demon that controlled the two of you, kick him in the ass anyway. You smiled and went up to him.

“I know. I would love to go and kick some demon ass. However..” you said letting out a sigh and holding his hand and giving it a squeeze.

“Ever since my body went through that change...well I've been really low on energy and what not. I really do think I need to stay here and relax. Who knows tho, I might come and just visit you.” you said with a smile.

Yusuke's eyes seemed to brighten a bit.

“Really?”

You smiled back at him.

“Of course, and I'll bring Kuwabara.” you said turning around and smiled at Kuwabara.

Kuwabara's own eyes seemed to have a gleam in them. It was in this moment he realized that maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Although, he still didn't like the idea of the three demons being on different sides.

Kuwabara nodded and grinned.

“You mean I'll bring you don'tcha.” he said with a chuckle.

You stuck your tongue out at him.

“Either way we will come and visit. I mean, if Kurama can do that then we can go back with him every once in a while.”

You turned to Kurama who seemed to think about that for a bit before nodding in agreement and with a smile.

“Wait!” Kuwabara said, after thinking about it a bit.

“I need to keep up my grades and I'm sure my sis won't let me do that.”

You thought about that but got an idea.

“You can always bring your homework and work and let the school know that you have a 'side job'. I can convince Koenma to 'write a note' saying you sorta work for the government. He does have important papers that I'm sure he can use to write that on.”

Kuwabara thought about that but still was worried.

“But what about my sis? She won't let me do that.”

Kurama seemed to have an idea at this point.

“I can make a deal with her. I can tutor you while you visit, that way you don't fall behind.” he said with a smile.

Kuwabara blinked at the red head.

“Really? You would do that?”

“Of course. Remember, I DID invite you to my mother's wedding. I wouldn't do that unless you were one of my closest friends, which you are.” Kurama said with a grin.

Hiei snorted.

“Great. I still have to deal with this baka even in the demon world.” Hiei snorted however a small smirk you caught, made it look like he was sort of happy about this idea.

You grinned. This was great. Everyone was happy and it seemed that everything would be fine.

“Sorry to interrupt.” said the new leader to the Spirit World Defense Squad.

“However, we need to quicken this up.”

Yusuke swung the bag he packet over his shoulder and smiled wide.

“Well, I guess that's my cue.” he said.

Yusuke and Hiei began to walk towards the portal. However Yukina stopped Hiei by walking up to him. He raised an eye brow at her, not sure what she wanted.

“Here.” she said, giving him her tear gem she wore around her neck.

“What's this.” he said looking at her.

“This tear gem is from my mother, before she died. If you could...could you find my brother while you are in the demon world? I want you to give this to him.” she said.

Yusuke couldn't help but snicker that the irony. Technically she WAS giving it to her brother, however she didn't know that. You half believed that she DID know Hiei was her brother. Hell, they were twins after all! Plus demon twins on top of that!

Hiei looked at the gem and snorted.

“Why don't you do it yourself? You are a demon after all and can go looking for him.” Hiei said looking away.

Yukina looked back down at the gem, a bit sad before looking up back at him.

“I could. But I rather you do it. Please Hiei?” she said, her eyes pleading.

Hiei looked at her for a little bit longer then looking back down at the gem that was made into a necklace. He took it out of her hand and held it in his hand for a bit before putting it in his pocket. Yukina's eyes seemed to lighten at this and smiled.

“Thank you.”

“Hn.” was all Hiei could muster before turning and vanishing into the portal.

You smiled and gave a small giggle.

Yusuke also smile, as did Kurama.

“Well, I better get in there too.” Yusuke said before turning back to everyone.

You went up to him real quick and gave him a hug.

“I'll visit soon bro.” you said with a smile.

“I can't wait sis.” Yusuke said before giving you a kiss on your forehead.

You blushed slightly but grinned even more.

Yusuke winked at you before turning back to the portal and jumped into it.

You all watched as his body disappeared into the portal to the demon world.

Soooo I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter ^_^. The part that I changed was the idea of the 'visiting' part. I always (even in my outline that I made when I first made this story) had it where you would stay behind. However, I think it would make it more interesting if Kuwabara and you go and visit the gang ^^. Soooo that's it. I'll try to make the next chapter soon and post it asap. I hope this will satisfy you until then anyway.
