Seven Ways To Die - Yusuke

AN: Are these oneshots offending anyone? They're certainly not meant to do so. They're just my thoughtful, random ramblings. Haven't you ever thought about your favorite character and said, 'Hmm, now I wonder if this is how it would end for him/her?' Well, these are just my views. Thanks for the hits, so far. And the 1 vote though. :o/

Five - "I Started This.."
This was going to be the 'rematch to end all rematches'. But this time, this Tournament was different on so many levels. Both Yusuke and Yomi had grown in strength over the past three years. In fact, all the competitors had. But what really made the difference was the rule changes that Enki's wife had goaded the big guy into making, no doubt during one of her drunken binges.
First, there were no rest periods. If you won your preliminary battle you moved straight into the next match. This rule, alone, had pushed both Yusuke and Yomi to the limits of their energy in order to make it this far. The final showdown. But the most fatal rule change concerned this last match. The winner had to be the last competitor living. Of course, Yusuke had been confident in his skills, though he wasn't crazy about that rule.
He had wondered what the current King would actually do when he had beaten Yomi badly enough then would refuse to 'finish him off'. Alas, Yusuke's humanity proved to be his downfall in the end. But Yomi's plan worked perfectly. 'Let Yusuke think he'd won'. So when the Toushin backed off and turned to walk away, the blind demon summoned the energy he'd kept reserved for the deciding blast. As Yusuke crumpled to the ground only Yomi's ears picked up his last words.
"I started this.. but it.. finished me".
