Chapter 5
Chapter 5
A/N: This chapter takes place starting from when Artemis and company left for the hotel. Now, to address the revies
Leiko Urameshi – I know it was a tease, but I didn’t want to go into what happens next because Butler has a part in it and I really wanted to put what Butler and Shiori are doing during the party. But I changed my mind. I really don’t have any inspiration for the scene, oh well.
SanctumSyte - You make me giggle in a good way every time you review! Your capta's are soooo funny, i wish i was lucky like that. Oh, I think eventually it will be Hiei and Kurama fighting over Artemis, just not yet. >.<
Side note: Oh, and for this story, Butler looks like Jason Statham because I think that they should cast him in the movie because he would be AMAZING in the part. Also, we have a guest star in this chapter and a twist on a the love interest. Just wanted to let you guys know.
WARNING: There is no torture in this chapter, and i don't think there will be in any chapter, but i want to let you know there is talk of it towards the end. You have been warned.

OOOOOO
Hiei had stood immediately, stepping in front of the rather stunned Irish boy. “Go, fairies. You have no business here.” He growled, though he dared not attack them. Neutrino 3000’s could hurt any type of being; including himself.
The head fairy spoke first, a smug look on her face. “Step aside, demon. We’ve come for the boy. Don’t make me shoot you.” She said, raising her gun proudly.
He thought of running behind her to grab her, but he knew he couldn’t; if they tried to shoot him and missed Artemis would be hit right in the chest. “Who are you, fairy? LEP?”
The woman scoffed, her trigger finger feeling itchy. Before she could speak, however, Artemis interrupted. “No. They are not wearing LEP uniforms, nor do they have the LEP name tags.” His voice was still slurred, but he was sobering up rather quickly. Slowly, he leaned down and pulled his pants up, his cheeks burning red at the fact that he had been caught. “You look familiar,” He said as his eyes scanned the room. He then stepped around his demon companion to face her directly. After he assessed there was no way out of the situation, he turned his eyes back toward her. “Do I know you? Were you part of the siege on the manor?”
She scoffed. “Once again, you wish. I’m Julius Root’s sister.”
The boy genius’ eyes widened. “But then, why –”
“This is about revenge,” She growled before firing her gun twice in a row. One hit Hiei in the chest, the other hitting Kurama in the head. Both demons were out like lights, sinking to the floor with groans of pain. “I’ve been watching you ever since he died. I knew I had to attack at the perfect moment; a moment when Butler was not by your side and you were alone. Imagine my surprise when you told him not to come here tonight. It was perfect. Then you drank and I realized the gods were giving you to me.”
Artemis didn’t even cast a glance at his demon friends. He could hear their breathing; he knew they were alive; he knew demons could handle a lot more then this and live. “So, you will kill me then?”
“All in good time. You just so happen to be my bait for now.”
OOOOOO
Yusuke gently nudged a naked Hiei with his foot. “Dude, you ok?” He asked as the small demon groaned and held his head.
“What happened?” Came his hoarse voice.
“I think you drank too much, tried doing Kurama and passed out in the process.” Yusuke said with a grimace.
“No, I would never –” He suddenly jumped to his feat, looking around the room. The windows were fixed, but he could still taste the scent of magic and fairies in the air. “Kurama, wake up.” He growled, kicking the demon hard in the stomach.
“Why?” He groaned, rolling over.
“They took Artemis.”
Suddenly the red head was up too, looking around the room before blushing slightly. “We’re naked…”
Hiei rolled his eyes. Soon they dressed and were driving back to Kurama’s house with Yusuke and Kuwabara in tow. “We have to talk to Butler. Obviously, there is more than meets the eyes to Artemis.”
After arriving back at Kurama’s house, they found the body guard and Kurama’s mother in the kitchen. The man sipping coffee, the woman making a large breakfast. “You are back soon. Where is Artemis?” Shiori asked, smiling at them. Butler immediately froze, giving them a once over.
“Butler, we need to talk.” Kurama spoke quietly, feeling guilt well inside him. It was, after all, his fault that Artemis had been taken. He shouldn’t have drank so much at the party, he realized. He might have been able to at least protect the boy if he hadn’t just gotten wasted to get laid. “Artemis was kidnapped.” He spoke once they were all in his room.
Butler was silent for a long time. “I should have been there. I shouldn’t have left him out of my site. Alright; do we know who it was? Did they give you a name or leave a note; anything to go on?”
Hiei nodded. “They were…” He glanced at Kurama, who gave him the look to go on, and Hiei nodded once more. “Fairies. Non-LEP. I do not think they were section 8 either.”
Butler nodded his head, his brow furrowed. “Fairies…no fairy in his right mind would go after Artemis.”
“Guys…you all know fairies aren’t real, right?” It was Yusuke who spoke up, looking at them like they were crazy. Kuwabara eagerly nodded his head in agreement with his friend.
“Yes, they are,” Kurama wasn’t looking to them; however, he was looking at Butler. “Tell us: how do you know of fairies?”
Butler sighed, rubbing his temple. “Artemis. He is the one who discovered fairies. Actually, the way he discovered them was quite…unusual. It doesn’t matter right now though. We need to contact Foaly – a centaur.” He paused to think. Though Foaly was as smart as Artemis was, he needed someone who was as deviant as the 18 year old. “I think, we’ll also need the help of an old friend.
OOOOOO
Green eyes glared at the boy before her, and the woman tossed back a few strands of blonde curls and spoke in a curt voice. “I highly doubt you would be a suitable suitor for me. Your IQ can’t be more than a toads, you seem nervous which means in a dangerous situation you wouldn’t provide adequate protection, and you look like a wreck.” She paused, tapping the table with a well manicured finger. “No, you are a tool. Leave me alone, if you please.”
The teenager was sent scurrying away from here, back to his table of friends and Minerva’s father sighed. “Dear, when will you stop scaring away ever boy who comes to call?”
She rolled her eyes from her father. “Papa, please. He was obviously less then worthy of your daughter’s affections.” Suddenly, her mobile phone rang and she furrowed her brow. No one had the number except her father and… “Artemis!” She spoke delightedly. “It’s been too long!”
“I’m sorry to say that this is not Artemis, Minerva.” Came Butler’s voice from over the receiver.
The girl blushed bright red. “Oh, Butler. It is a pleasure to hear from you. Is this a social call then?”
“I’m afraid not,” A sigh came like static over the receiver. “Artemis has been kidnapped. I need your brain to get him back.”
Minerva school her face. “Oh, yes that sounds wonderful!” She spoke in an excited tone. “I would love to come to a surprise party for Artemis!” She paused as if Butler was talking. “Tonight? Yeah, I can do that. I can get papa to let me borrow a jet. I’ll see you a few hours!” She grabbed a pen as Butler told her the address in an amused voice, despite the situation. “Japan. Alright. I’ll be there soon!” She smiled and look up to her father. “I’m sorry to cut lunch short, papa.”
He smiled heartedly. “No, it is alright. I know how much you care for Artemis, after all.”
She blushed and nodded before standing and making her way from the restaurant. Butler was right to call her; she could certainly handle herself in a kidnapping situation, having been a victim once before. She would get Artemis back, and who ever had him would be wishing they had never messed with Minerva and Artemis in the first place.
Butler smiled as he hung up the phone. “Minerva Paradizo. She is just as smart as Artemis.” He pulled another communicator out of his suit, this one his fairy communicator. “Foaly, do you read me?”
“Let me guess, Artemis has been kidnapped.”
Eyed widening, he asked, “How did you know?”
Foaly sighed. “The kidnappers just called Holly. They want a trade; Artemis for her.”
The bodyguard furrowed his brow once more. This was not right. If they wanted Holly, she would actually be the easier on to kidnap. “They want both of them.” He spoke uneasily. Now he was glad he had two geniuses at his disposal.
OOOOOO
Artemis groaned as he awoke. Slowly, his eyes flickered and he tried to close them, sighing in relief when he did not get blinded for his trouble. His head throbbed painfully and he rubbed his temple, grumbling, “I am never going to drink again.” He couldn’t remember where he was. The entire night was a bit hazy in his mind in fact. He sat up and closed his eyes. ‘Meditate.’ He told himself. ‘Think. Remember.’ And when he did remember, a blush spread heavily across his face and he groaned in modification. Suddenly, out of nowhere, water was thrown on him and the room lit up to reveal a group of fairies around him. The leader – Julius’ sister – was holding a bucket.
“Ah, awake then?” She asked as her fairy friends roared with laughter. To be more accurate, there were three elves, a pixie, and four sprites, one being a water sprite.
“Tell me,” Artemis drawled in a composed voice, though he was shirtless and dripping wet, “how exactly do you believe this plan will work. Surly you understand that the LEP will stop you at any cost. I have made allies, Miss…” He spoke in English, though he understood gnommish fluently. He wanted to put as much strain on his captures as possible.
“Juliet.”
Artemis nodded approvingly. “A beautiful name.”
The elf scoffed, “Save your flattery, mud boy. I am in no mood.”
Artemis’ eyes darkened. “Julius was a good elf. Imagine how he would feel today if he could see how you were treating an ally of his. You disgrace his memory,” He spoke quietly, never breaking eye contact.
“An ally! An ally!” She glared hard at him and wrapped a hand around his throat. It was then Artemis noticed his own hands were bound by old fashioned cuffs. “You are the reason he is dead! You and that damned elf Short. I will extract my avenge on the both of you.”
Artemis tapped is fingers irritably on the hand around his throat. “I do not see how we were involved in his demise. It was the pixie, Opal Koboi.”
“Holly could have saved him! Instead, she shot him. She shot him!”
The hand around Artemis’ neck tightened and he felt the effects set into his body already at the excess carbon dioxide building in his lungs as he was deprived of his breath. Soon, the blood vassals in his eyes would burst open and his face would take on a bluish color. Suddenly, the hand was gone and Artemis fell to the ground, coughing and holding his abused throat.
“Now is not the time to kill you. No, a quick death is too good for someone like you, or Holly. I am going to torture you, and I am going to enjoy it.” She turned away from him, walking over to a table that held several…devices. “I’ve been studying up on my mud man torture methods. I was delighted at what I found.” She picked up a metal rod and held it up to the light, studying it. “One of my favorite things I read about was abacination. Do you know what that is?”
Artemis gulped. He did know what it meant. “It’s where you blind someone by having a hot metal plate held before the victims eyes. Or, by touching a red hot metal rod to the eyes.”
She turned to look at him, still holding up the rod, a cat like smile on her face. “Yes, that is correct. Bravo.” Suddenly, the end of the red started to glow and she moved towards Artemis, pointing it inches away from his eyes. The young man began to sweat, eyeing the rod with scared, wide eyes. “Do not worry, Ar-te-mis,” She smirked, twirling the rod, but not moving it away, “Holly must see you well if she is to give herself up for you. I can’t hurt you till I have the both of you.” She suddenly moved away, making Artemis sigh in relief, and was back at the table. “Then, of course, there is the process of denailing.” She picked up a pair of pliers and did the same with them, holding them up to the light. “I can’t wait to get my hands on that repugnant elf.”
