Scene 5
Tachi, I certainly didn’t mean my note to sound like I was scolding anyone. I appreciate that you review as much as you do and that you’ve remained faithful to this monstrosity. Believe it or not, I’m just now finishing it up on paper. (Over 800 notebook sheets!!) As far as the marking goes, I thought I made it clear that he’d marked all six females before they left Matsua’s. It’s why he couldn’t just let all of them take off on their own. As far as Sylk goes, he really had little choice there, but we haven’t seen the last of her. Not by a longshot.

Scene 5 --------------- Another Territory
* Eboni carries a bucket of water into the cave where she and her mother have been living since returning to their dessimated Territory. It wasn’t long after they’d stepped across the border that they’d learned about their two wolf guardians. Panuto and a couple of his sons had intercepted Sylk and Eboni. Luckily, though, Panuto turned out to be a reasonable demon and accepted the protectors of his sister and neice once he’d heard the whole story. With a bit of hesitation, normal of her, Sylk had decided to grudgingly accept the Wolves’ protection. Understanding that she and her daughter were vulnerable in their current conditions. Also, as with most species of cat demons, their feralness aides them in accepting the presence of the much-stronger males. Eboni glances a soft smile toward the two Wolves as she passes them to enter the cave. She takes no notice of their alert positions. When Eboni enters the cave she finds her mother pacing anxiously. Since Sylk’s growing aggitation is nothing new to her she doesn’t pay her any mind until Sylk hisses.
Sylk- You were gone too long!
Eboni- The river’s not exactly outside our door, Mother.
Sylk- I suppose that Wolf went with you
Eboni- No, Chujo decided to stay in the clearing today.
Sylk- You have his stench all over you.
* Sylk growls and turns away.
Sylk- I should make you go back to that river and bathe, b----.
Eboni- He hasn’t even touched me, Mother.
* The two grow quiet when they hear a voice address them from outside.
Voice- My, my, my. So testy.
* Sylk’s hair nearly stands on end when she recognizes the voice. She grabs Eboni and presses her behind herself when the large reptilian demon crawls into the cave and raises up onto his hind legs.
Sylk- Ooshama! How dare you!? How..?!
* Ooshama tosses the heads of a couple demons onto the ground towards them. Eboni screams.
Eboni- Chujo.. Uncle Panuto!
* Sylk lays her ears back and growls, not taking her eyes off of Ooshama.
Ooshama- I merely defended myself.
Eboni- You b------!
* Ooshama chuckles.
Ooshama- You were becoming quite fond of that Wolf, Little One.. Hmm? I wonder what your true mate would say about that? Perhaps he doesn't mind.. sharing?
* Eboni lowers her eyes.
Sylk- Am I to assume that you’ve killed both the wolves?!
Ooshama- Indeed.. A bit bothersome, but worth the pleasure of rending them to pieces.. That one..
* He motions toward Panuto’s head.
Ooshama- Was rather tasty.
Sylk- This is my Territory, Lizard.. I’m going to take this intrusion as an act of war!
Ooshama- Stop fooling yourself, Sylk.. When I heard that Matsua had finally put you in your place I wasted no time claiming this Territory.. Panuto was the very last hold out, but now that he’s been dealt with..
Sylk- It puts me back in charge, you idiot!
Ooshama- No, actually it belongs to the one that staked his claim on you.. Imagine my surprise when I heard that little bit of information.
Sylk- My life is no concern of yours!
* Ooshama smirks darkly.
Ooshama- Oh, I believe your life.. is very much my concern.. So tell me, cats.. Where is your new mate?
* Neither female answers. Ooshama’s smirk turns into a scowl.
Ooshama- Oh dear. Don’t tell me he couldn’t.. stand being around you.. Yesss, that must be why I haven’t already encountered him, yet.. How opportune.
* Eboni shrieks when Ooshama suddenly flicks his tail around to knock Sylk aside and uses his lightning quick movement to snatch her up into one of his arms. Sylk gets back to her feet and freezes. Eboni’s maternal instincts keep her from struggling against his grasp, but she does close her eyes and flinch away from Ooshama when he snakes his tongue up the side of her neck, flicking it over Hiei’s mark. The Lizard shakes his head with a distasteful scowl and looks back at Sylk. The Pantheress remains frozen where she is by the same instincts to protect her own unborn.
Ooshama- This new idiot must be truly an amateur to just let a couple of his.. mates run off on their own.. If I wanted to there’d be nothing stopping me from claiming both of you right now.
* He boldly moves up closer to Sylk, knowing the instincts that keep her immobile. He leans to slither his tongue around her neck and down to just above her cleavage.
Ooshama- But I prefer the demons I bed to be a bit more.. male.. Not to mention.. slimmer.
* Sylk growls but keeps her eyes averted from his solid yellow ones, knowing of their hypnotic tendencies.
Ooshama- I think I will, however, keep you both around long enough to draw out this.. mate of yours.. Then maybe a little longer once I dispatch him to feast on your babies when they’re born.
* Now Sylk glares up at him.
Sylk- D--- you!
Ooshama- Perhaps you would prefer that I rip them out of you and feast on them now, then?
Eboni- No!!
* Sylk’s snarl fades slowly. Ooshama smirks again.
Ooshama- You’ve got the message, then.. Good.. Let’s go outside.
* Ooshama raises a hand to blast out the front of the cave then shoves Sylk toward the enlarged entrance.
Ooshama- Keep going, b----, or your daughter will be first on my menu.
* When they leave the cave Sylk pauses to look over the carnage all over the clearing in amazement. They’d never heard a sound and it must’ve happened so quickly. Ooshama shoves Sylk forward into the arms of a couple Bat demons. They place her in a large cage then Ooshama tosses Eboni in after her. Ooshama’s tongue flicks out repeatedly as he looks around, scenting the area.
Ooshama- There’s no trace of their new Alpha anywhere near here.
Yushigu- We told you. He’s returned to Gamock’s Ravine.
* Ooshama glares down at the Bat demon a moment then shakes his head.
Ooshama- If he’s that much of an idiot there’s no rush.. I can take a couple days to rest up before I go deal with him.. Maybe he'll just come to me and I won't have to drag my tail halfway across this god-forsaken region.
* When the Reptile turns and starts back toward his fortress Yushigu shakes his head then motions his subordinates to follow them. As the cage lurches into movement Sylk gives a half glance toward Eboni, but both keep their thoughts to themselves. Nobody notices the small poof of smoke as a small, silent observer disappears from a nearby rock.
