Hiei's Harem: Pt. 6 - Expanding

Scene 5 ---------- Early The Next Morning


* When Hiei's eyes open next he finds himself back on the mattress in the hut he spent the night in. The more alert he becomes, the more aware he becomes of a couple things: One, he's no longer feeling the pain he last felt and, two, he's not alone. Hiei carefully sits up to test the first discovery. When he realizes that he feels better than he has for the past couple days he looks toward the second discovery. Coutaro remains seated calmly a few inches away.


Hiei- Hn.. So you're a healer, too?

Coutaro- No. Actually, that's the ability Hab was blessed with.. Funny thing is that it only works on unrelated demons.. We could never figure out why.

Hiei- Hn. Figures. Just another odd thing about the lot of you.


* Coutaro tilts his head.


Coutaro- Are you healed completely?

Hiei- I'm better than brand new.


* Hiei stands and moves to throw his cloak back on.


Hiei- How is the girl?

Coutaro- You mean Darieth?

Hiei- The one that b------ took.

Coutaro- Hai. She and the baby are fine.

Hiei- She's your brother's mate?

Coutaro- No. His oldest daughter.


* Hiei turns to look at Coutaro again.


Hiei- So where was her mate?


* Coutaro lowers his eyes and clears his throat.


Coutaro- To put a long story short, the sire of her child was from a rival pack.. She was caught outside of the village because of a.. rebellious phase.. and raped.. We were given the right to restitution and killed the son of a b----.

Hiei- Hn.. I know all about rebellious.. phases..


* Coutaro looks back up at him grinning.


Coutaro- You went through one?

Hiei- I was born in one.. I haven't come out of it, yet.


* Hiei turns away and notices all the food on the kitchen table. His stomach immediately makes its intentions known. Coutaro gives his purring chuckle and leads HIei over to the kitchen.


Coutaro- I made breakfast for you, Master.


* HIei half glances up at the Lynx.


Hiei- You made all of this?

Coutaro- Hai, Master.

Hiei- Will you stop that Master s---?!


* Hiei sits down and motions.


Hiei- You might as well join me.


* Coutaro hurries to sit, then waits as he watches Hiei serve himself as he continues speaking.


Hiei- As I recall, stuff like that happens between rival packs all the time.. I've been on both sides of.. similar situations.. Eat, I don't have all day to spend here chatting.


* Coutaro begins to gather some food onto his own plate. For a reason he can't explain, Hiei still hesitates to eat as he watches Coutaro. The young Lynx seems to catch onto him and drops his hands into his lap to wait.


Coutaro- It is customary for the Master to eat first.


* Hiei shakes his head with a slight growl then begins to eat. Coutaro follows suit.


Hiei- I told you.. I have no intentions of..

Coutaro- Please reconsider,.. Lord Hiei.. It may be hard for you to believe, but Kuma and I love our brother..

Hiei- Then talk to him..

Coutaro- After you saved Darieth last night Hab announced both his and Kuma's resolve to accept your claim to the whole village.. They plan to.. offer themselves to you..


* Hiei notices the look of distaste on Coutaro's face.


Hiei- So even you find that displeasing..


* Coutaro looks up at Hiei.


Coutaro- Hmm? Oh, no. Not at all.. The eggs are a bit too salty.


* Hiei rolls his eyes.


Hiei- They taste fine to me.

Coutaro- Then your females don't cook well for you?

Hiei- My females cook too well.. So do you.. D---, if I stay around here too long I'm going to get fat and lazy.

Coutaro- With all the sex you'll be getting today you'll work this meal off in no time.


* Hiei notes the sparkle in the young demon's eyes.


Hiei- Talk like that makes me think that you're looking forward to watching me f--- your brothers.

Coutaro- Can you honestly tell me that you're not tempted to honor their willingness?


* Hiei lowers his eyes. As he continues eating he mentally studies the desires of his instincts. Then his rational brain surprises him when it begins to dwell on all the pros that following them would bring. When he finally feels Coutaro's eyes watching him he meets them.


Hiei- I'm going to take a couple hours to consider my decision.

Coutaro- I appreciate that.. I'll go inform my brothers.


* Coutaro stands. He hesitates to leave as he looks back down at Hiei.


Coutaro- You do know that agreeing to claim us doesn't mean we have to become your mates.. Right?


* Hiei looks up at the Cat blankly. Coutaro raises a finger to indicate his neck.


Coutaro- It's all in what side of our necks you put your mark.. Mates are marked on the right side.. Servants are marked on the left.

Hiei- I take no slaves..

Coutaro- I didn't say slaves, Master.. Slaves are forced into servitude.. Servants accept their masters willingly.

Hiei- And your brothers will have no regrets if I chose this?

Coutaro- Whether you mark us or not.. We are in your debt.. Marking will just make it officially known to the whole village.


* Coutaro starts to leave.


Hiei- Coutaro.. Now that your whole clan knows of their intentions..


* Coutaro half turns back toward Hiei from the door.


Coutaro- If you refuse our offer.. They will refuse us.


* Coutaro then slips out. Hiei slams his hand on the table.


Hiei- D--- it all to h---!!


* Hiei sighs deeply and continues eating with a shrug, 'So much for long deliberation about this mess'.
