Me Pretending
**OMFK I have 31 hits! Last I checked I had 12 which is like....a lot more hits. Hehehehe I feel special today. Sorry I haven't updated in a few days, it been pushing 100 and my dad just BARELY decided to put the AC on so now I can come into my room. We've been going outside to cool off! How messed is that? Anyway, I may or may not put some good stuff in the chap, that's up to me. I shall do it if it gets to that. There will be some....oh god....stuff -shiftyeyes- in the next chap if it isn't in this one.**
~Jin's POV~
I could feel his heart beating on my cheek, that made me smile. I shifted a bit, placing my chin on Touya's wet chest, and stared at his pale face. Now he was always pale, but he was looking worse then normal. My smile faded a bit but didn't entirely leave my face. He at least looked peaceful. His face always looked so calm and beautiful when he was asleep. When we first met I was intoxicated with that look. I would stay up later then him just to see the muscles in his face relax, even if it meant being exhausted the next day. That was just so perfect. I laid my left cheek on his stomach and stared at his chest rising and falling with his breath. After a few moments I matched the rhythm. I had done that many times before. I would lay on my back next to him as he slept and match everything that was him. His breathing, the rhythm of his heart beat, everything. I would always managed to wake up a few feet in the air but that was okay. It gave me an excuse to laugh. Touya would grab my ankle and pull me to the ground and I would laugh. And if I was lucky, he'd smile. I could feel myself shiver at the thought of his smile. That was my favorite thing about him. I made him smile. I sighed, trying to pull my mind back to what was at hand, and sat up. I had been sitting on the ground beside the bed he lay on out of a small fear. Himeka-chan. She was a human after all, and even though she didn't seem to startled at seeing us I didn't want to chance scaring her. If it wasn't for that little girl we would still be out in the rain. Sure we were both still wet, but at least we weren't out in the cold. I wasn't worried or even Touya, but she had been shaking slightly as she closed the door to the room. Maybe she had gotten sick? She had used a bit of her renkai to fix Touya, maybe the water and the cold got to her. I found myself frowning now and I stood up. I'd walk, how hard could it be? I had learned to walk before I could fly so it's not like I couldn't walk into another room. I was frowning even more as I opened the door and walked into the next room. It wasn't as fun as flying. I glanced around the dimly lit room until I heard soft clanking beyond a doorway. I stepped passed it and flashed my smile when the young girl turned to see me. She was standing on a stool in front of a large metal thing with fire coming out and a weird looking metal thing sitting on the fire.
"You have tea where you're from right?"
"Yup, ya makin' some?" She nodded happily and jumped off the stool. She pushed it to the other side of the small room to another counter in front of a cupboard. She stepped back on it and brought down two brilliant looking cups. They looked like they would be used for sake, that drink they had on the island for the tournament. They were painted with red spiral designs and gold blotches. She walked them carefully over to a table and stood on her tiptoes to place them on the table. She then pushed the stool over to another cupboard before I stepped in. "Do ya want some help Hima-chan?"
"Yes please." Her smile seemed happy and that made me smile. She pointed at a small box which I easily took down for her and she pulled out two bags. She placed a bag in each cup as a loud pitched screech filled the air. I flattened my ears and she giggled a little. "That's the tea pot." She got a small rag and held it out for me. "You see that?" She pointed at the metal thing with steam coming out. "Pick that up by the handle with the cloth, and be careful. It's gonna be hot." I obeyed her orders and picked up the screaming object, which quickly stopped. "Good now pour some of the water into each cup while I get chairs. She disappeared through the doorway as I poured steaming water into the cups. Well that was nifty. She appeared as I was placing the metal thing on the table dragging two small chairs behind her. They looked small to me but one alone was talling then her. I laughed at her and pulled the chairs to the table. She made a huffing noise as she pulled herself into the chair and I sat in the one next to her.
"This is tea?"
"It's how we make tea. It's called instant. It's ground up tea leaved in a cloth bag that seeps the juice into boiling water. This makes tea and the longer you leave the bag in there the stronger the tea will be." After saying this she pulled the bag out of her cup and I copied her action.
"So it's 'apposed to taste like tea?" She took a sip from her cup before smiling at me.
"That's the idea." I blinked at her, my ears still flat, as I brought the cup to my mouth. It wasn't good, but it was something warm to drink.
"Are ya gonna make some for Touya?" She tilted her head to the side again and blinked blankly at me. I didn't like it when she made that look. She had made that look when we were in that tight area before her home. I pushed a smile past the tension and she slowly smiled with me.
"Where did you come from?" I choked on my badly tasting brown liquid she called tea and glanced at her. The smile I had forced out of her was still on her face, but her cold blue eyes had glazed slightly. I laughed passed her question and scratched the back of my head.
"I really think ya should make some a this for Touya. I don't think he'll like it but he needs somethin' warm dontcha think?" She made a face and shook her head sharply.
"He'll be asleep for awhile so I don't think so." My eyes were closed and a smile had set itself on my face as I nodded in false agreement. I could feel her staring at me and I was afraid she could see past me with those eyes. It was like she shared those eyes with Touya and he could see my fake smiles. What if she could too? The last thing I wanted to do at the moment was smile, but I felt like it was necessary. Hima-chan seemed like...she needed it. When I looked at her, she seemed sad, until she smiled. If I smiled she'd smile and then she'd be happy. I don't know why but I wanted her to be happy. I took another sip from my cup and I heard her giggle.
"Wat?"
"Nothing, you just look so silly when you do that." I broke out laughing again, trying my hardest to look real, and placed my hands on the back of my head.
"When I do wat?"
"That! It's funny." I let a fang slip out and she continued to giggle. My heart didn't hurt as bad when I heard that sound. Maybe when Touya woke up he'd like her to. that would be so wonderful. Then I wouldn't have to pretend to smile.
**Yeah, no fun for you today. I got a killer headache and carpal tunnel is killing me. I'll upload morrow hopefully and please someone comment me. I love comments, but no hatin. Hatin isn't nice.**
