A day or two later, Hiei glared at your because you weren’t reading the Author’s Notes
A day or two later Hiei glared at your reflection in the window as you stared blankly out of it. He continued to glare for a minute before growling, and turning to look at you, “What do you want?!” he growled. You looked at him for a second before answering, “I don’t know,” you answered as if it were an obvious fact. He glared and for a second you were afraid he would start beating the crap out of you, until Kurama walked in. You looked up at him before standing up quickly and trying to squeeze past him out of the room. He was confused, but let you pass.

What felt like hours later, you started to walk a little faster, as you saw more and more Ogres in the halls. You were a little nervous, but you decided that turning down a hallway with less of the green and blue monsters was a good idea. You were so wrong.

You were somehow magically back in front of the door you had run out of only 20 minutes ago (Of course you hadn’t wandered for hours, it only felt that way!) You groaned and walked back into the room, deciding that you now officially hated this building. You wanted so badly to go home, but because of the dumbass Hiei, you still couldn’t.

You sat down on the floor, leaning against the wall and glaring at nothing in particular, ignoring the looks you were getting from the newly arrived Yusuke and Kuwabaka. Kurama approached you slowly, and when you saw his feet, you looked up, “Minx,” you corrected him, before he could speak, “Minx,” he repeated, “Are you alright?” he asked you cautiously.

You were back in Yusuke’s bedroom, with Yusuke in his Ningenkai home so that you could have a place to sleep. You were damn tired, but there was no way you were falling asleep; your head hurt like hell.

Instead, you stood up out of the bed and walked to the window. Looking down for the first time, you realized that the area below the window looked rather like a training area that the guys had shown you a while ago. Someone was outside, and you simply watched.

A black blur sped at a little purplish dot, and you watched in horror as the purplish dot turned a little more reddish. You wanted to go back to bed, and imagine the dots to be blue and green ogres, but you couldn’t. Instead you watched as the purplish dot fought back, and the pattern continued for at least 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, you were shocked to see both dot and blur meet in the middle of the arena and stop, before they walked back to the castle together. Paranoia began to set in, and you ran and jumped back into the bed, covering yourself with the blanket and closing your eyes.

The next morning, you woke up on your own, for what reason, you had no idea. You stood up after a few minutes of unsuccessful attempts to fall back asleep, and sighed, getting dressed quickly. Koenma had sent the bubbly ferry girl back to your apartment to get some clothes for you after the first day you stayed over.

As you got dressed, memories of what you had seen the night before started filling your head. Your head was buzzing with ideas to find out who was out there and why, but you weren’t the most outgoing person ever, putting a little flaw in your plan. You decided to go get breakfast started after spacing out for a while. It was only 6:30 in the morning, and you knew who would be up first.

You were normally the last person to wake up, out of the three of you who were left in the morning. Yusuke would sometimes join you later, either after school or during, in order to escape the ningenkai where his drunken mother or girlfriend could easily find him and send him to school. Kurama attended school every day however, which confused you, because in your mind, he was smart enough to skip…And he was staying in the Spirit World, even though he lived in the human world. He had told you that he was staying so that you would have some company, but you really could care less, not that you didn’t like Kurama’s company, but he was always at school anyways.

You had started to wonder what would happen at your school, now that you stopped showing up, and you wanted more than anything to contact Katashi. He had been acting so strange the last time you saw him, and you really wanted to make sure everything was ok with him.

You thought about all of this as you walked down the hallway. You knew pretty well how to get to the kitchen from Yusuke’s room by now, and you were almost there, when a thought hit you. Kasumi hadn’t been in school for two days before you had seen Katashi in his weird state. She would have had to see him on Saturday after he left your house, and before you saw him later in the afternoon. You had a strange theory, but it was enough to make you mad. You ran into the kitchen, and made sure no one was there before you started making toast and pouring a bowl of cereal.

It wasn’t too long before Kurama walked in, a little surprised to see you up so early, but he smiled at you none the less. You looked up at him, before standing up and putting your bowl in the sink, as he got himself some breakfast. You were quiet for a while, before you turned to him, “What did you do to Katashi?” you demanded suddenly. You weren’t loud, and you didn’t glare at him, but your voice was demanding.

“I—what are you talking about?” He was obviously surprised and confused. “My friend, Katashi. I saw him before you came to my house, and he wasn’t himself. He gave me the collar, and he told me to go home. He wanted me to leave, and that wasn’t like him at all.” You told Kurama, surprising yourself with what you told him so willingly. He looked at you for a minute and you were sure he was going to tell you that he had no idea what you were talking about.

“He gave you the collar?” he asked. You nodded weakly. By now you were seated at the table beside Kurama, staring at the table with your hands in your lap. You felt like crying now that you had let yourself realize how much you missed your friend. Kurama seemed to realize this, and you felt a strong, warm hand on your shoulder. Tears welled up in your eyes, but you didn’t let them fall. You always felt stupid when you let someone see you cry. You bit your lip instead, and Kurama gently pulled you into a hug. You returned the hug, and you sat that way for a minute or two, wondering why he would hug you like this, and two wondering if he understood that Katashi was not to blame for the collar.

You pulled away as he did, and you looked down at the table again, “Katashi didn’t give me the collar exactly….Kasumi did. She was out of school Thursday and Friday, but She gave the collar to Katashi and told him to give it to me.” You decided that it was best to tell him everything, and you might get out of this place faster. He listened, but ten minutes later, you were done telling him everything that had happened, and who everyone was. He had explained to you better what the collar was supposed to do, and again you asked him, “What did you do to Katashi?” this time your voice a little more pleading.

“Minx, you have to understand that your friend had the collar that was supposed to lead us to a deadly demon.” Your expression changed to confusion, “When Kasumi gave him the collar to give to you, she made sure that it was closed, so that the signal would reach us, saying it was on someone when he touched it.”

“What did you do to him?” You asked again, “Nothing, Minx, we simply went to his house to see if the correct person had the collar. He fought back when we tried to ask him some questions, so we assumed we had the right person. When we got him to Koenma’s palace, we were told that it was a female we were after, so we had to erase his memory of us ever coming to his house. It’s incredibly hard to erase only certain memories, and I imagine he had an incredibly bad head ach for a while, and it was most likely hard for him to think straight, which would be why he sent you home.” He explained.

You thought about it for a minute, and soaked up all of the new information, “Thank you Kurama…” You thought about what you had said to him a day ago, and felt bad about it suddenly.

Kurama approached you slowly, and when you saw his feet, you looked up, “Minx,” you corrected him, before he could speak, “Minx,” he repeated, “Are you alright?” he asked you cautiously. “Shut up,” You snapped, “I have no fucking idea where I am, and I’m probably going to get thrown in jail because this stupid baby thinks I’m a killer who goes on nightly killing sprees…I have a fucking hard time killing a damn spider for my cousin!” You yelled in anger. You cheeks were a little flushed as you stood up, avoiding everyone’s eyes and walked out of the room. You still had no idea where to go to get to Yusuke’s room, so instead you sat down in the hallway, until a while later, Yusuke came out and showed you your way to the room.
