Chapter Five
Kuwabara Purrs!

8:15 pm "Urameshi." Kuwabara tries to wake the sleeping Yusuke. "URAMESHI"

8:17 pm "URAMESHI WAKE UP!"

8:20 pm "URAMESHI YOU PUP!

8:21 pm Yusuke gives a yawn and stretch. "What is it with everyone and this PUP shit?" waking from a well-deserved nap. If you ask him.

"Come on, Urameshi and tell me what our big assignment is."

"ALL! In do time my friend, in do time." Yusuke gets up and pats his buddy on the back. "After my shower, I will fill ya in."

"Yeah well you better Urameshi." Kuwabara sits impatiently waiting while Yusuke does his grooming ritual.

8:45 pm Yusuke exits the shower and continues to get ready.

9:00 pm "You need to change." Yusuke tells Kuwabara, as he appears at the door ready for action.

"WHAT? I will not."

"You will, or you don't go."

"Will Not!"

"Fine Kuwabara stay here."

"Alright, GRRR!" Kuwabara attempts to find something in his outdated wardrobe.

"I still can't believe you're up and running again, so soon."

"Yeah well you know me Urameshi, I can't let you have all the fun, and besides" Kuwabara changes into a pair of faded blue jeans and a dark blue T-shirt. "I like a little action here and there. How's this." Kuwabara smiles big, proud of his selection, and does a pose for Yusuke.

"Beats the hell out of what you had on." Yusuke compliments as he grabs his jean jacket, the last accessories before he trots out the door. "Now Kuwabara you have to promise to behave yourself before I tell you anything."

9:27 pm They finally leave their apartment. "What are you talking about Urameshi, I am always on best behavior it's you I worry about." Kuwabara's acute sense kicks in, "Something is following us."

"What?" Yusuke ignores his friends "Not tonight Kuwabara, don't start your shit. I am going to have fun with this, I suggest you do the same and Lighten' up... Now I have a question for ya......."

"Urameshi." Kuwabara looks left and freezes.

"What?" Yusuke keeping his stride and dexterity. "Kuwabara we don't have time for this......."

"URAMESHI!" Yusuke jumps this time when his name is shouted. "LOOK!" Yusuke turns to see a rabbit leaning on the building standing on two legs, long ears standing tall and he has a black trench coat on.

"What's up Doc?" The rabbit asks. Yusuke's mouth drops as Kuwabara does his 'I told ya so dance' pointing to the rabbit.

"Well, Now!" Yusuke tilts his head and gives it a rub. "Look here Kuwabara," Laughing at his own wit Yusuke continues, "it's Bugs."

"Watch it Kid." The rabbit snaps to attention. "I can take you down quick, but the boss wants to meet you, so I am not allowed." The Rabbit starts to walk ahead of Yusuke. "Unless, you really tick me off. Now come on Doc." He motions the two boys to follow.

"Look Bugs!" Yusuke stands tall and strong. "I'm no duck so therefore I don't plain on following you just to see what kind of trouble you bring. I have a lot of Kittens that need petted and rubbed." Yusuke walks up to the Rabbit and gives a smile. "And you know that Cat's eat little bunny


"KITTENS! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT URAMESHI? AND WHY ARE YOU TALKING TO A RABBIT? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?"

"Chill, Kuwabara."

"I WILL NOT CHILL......."

"Look Bob." The rabbit jumps in. "I was just sent to give you a message."

"Bob?" Kuwabara is so lost.

"Yes Bob Urameshi," Yusuke stands proud "that's I. Now what is it you want Bugs."

"Todd wants to meet with you."

"And Todd is?" Yusuke playing stupid.

"Todd is the owner of the Triple D."

"Well," Yusuke waves the Rabbit off again as he continues his walk. "I am on my way there now. Thanks for the message. COME KUWABARA!"

Kuwabara snaps to his command and leaves the rabbit standing while he races to catch up with Yusuke. "Bob?" he questions low.

"Yes, just call me Bob tonight." Yusuke grits his teeth. "Long story, but Hiei had something to do with it."

"Well that explains it then." Kuwabara giggles and Slaps Yusuke on the back. "BOB! It is."

"GRRR!"

"I still can't believe that was a rabbit. You know if I would have seen some of this shit I see now as a kid, I probably won't be in my right mind." Kuwabara laughs.

"You are Now?"

"Now What?" Kuwabara dumbfounded.

"Now your in your right mind." Yusuke taunting his friend in a calm voice.

"Don't start on me tonight, BOB." Gis s

"Grrr, Shut Up!"

"Just practicing."

"Well be careful not to slip on that tongue of yours, Bugs could still be with us."

"Yeah he is." Kuwabara confirms. "I can still feel him."

10:00 pm Still walking. "Man why didn't we drive the Jeep, this is one long walk." Kuwabara asks.

"I lent it to Hiei." Yusuke answers.

"WHAT?"

"We will be crawling home anyway."

"What are you talking about Urameshi?"

"You'll see."

10: 32 pm They arrive at the Triple D. Yusuke takes in a deep breath, and gives a mischief grin. "Here we are."

"A Bar Urameshi, are you sure."

"Yelp, hey is bunny boy still with us."

"Yes."

"OK, brace yourself Kuwabara, because what is behind that door is going ake ake your mouth water."

"What ever, Urameshi, Let's just get on with it."

10:37 pm "OK follow my lead." Yusuke steps in the door to the Triple D. It is packed, people everywhere and loud.

"Hey Bob."

"What?"

"I feel a lot of Demons in here."

"Yeah well just wait before you get your panties in a bunch."

"Hello boys, "A tall blond girl approaches them. "Can I seat you?"

"At the bar please." Yusuke answers.

"Hey why are you wearing a robe?" Kuwabara asks.

Yusuke smirks "Good question."

"I will show you to your seat, then answer your question, please follow me." She steps ahead to lead the way, Yusuke follows behind, then Kuwabara. They get half way to the bar when it smacks Kuwabara in the face, he stops and stiffens his body pulling his arms in close and locking his knees. His jaw drops as two girls dance by him... NAKED!

Yusuke walks over and pulls on him. "Come on Skippy."

"WOW, Urameshi, this is a nice place." Kuwabara continues to the bar to find a stool. As he is getting ready to turn on his stool, the girl that seated them spoke.

"Welcome to Triple D." She opens her robe, and Kuwabara drops his jaw. "If you need anything else, my name is Tina." She gives Kuwabara a little but shot, then winks and walks away.

"Well, Well." Suzie says has she approaches Yusuke, "If it isn't my favorite drool boy."

"Sure is M B, how come you're not working the door tonight?"

"Bronzy, had something to do. What will it be."

"I will have a jack and coke, two S and B's and give Skippy here a milk." Yusuke laughs and points at Kuwabara.

"MILK! SKIPPY!" Kuwabara getting loud. "I will also have a jack and coke."

"Chill your chickens sweetie, I will get you one." Suzie is off and fetching.

"Why are you calling me Skippy?"

"If I'm Bob your Skippy." Yusuke turns to watch the show as he did the night before.

"I don't want to be Skippy." Kuwabara turns to join Yusuke in the viewing. "WOW, Man how come we never came here before?"

"Who do you want to be?"

"I want a name that sounds tuff not wimpy. Skippy is wimpy."

"Well pick it."

"This is so cool an unoverover job, neat names." Kuwabara laughs, "Well not Bob."

"You are sticking with Skippy."

"WHAT? No man I am sorry ... "

"To Late!" Yusuke turns and picks up his drink that Suzie just served him. "HERES TO YA!!! M B." He yells down the bar to her and downs drink one of the evening.

Kuwabara watches as his friend of many years' downs a Jack and Coke like its milk. "WOW! I didn't know you're a drinker."

Suzie is quick to fill Yusuke's drink. "Yeah, well I seem to be good at it, must run in the family." With that toast Yusuke downs drink number two grabs his two shots and turns to watch the show. He lifts both shots and downs them in one gulp. As he sits molessless, Suzie fills him up again.

"What's that?" Kuwabara asks as he nods at the empty shot glasses in Yusuke's hand. Without answer Yusuke motions to Suzie for two more S and B's. She quickly delivers.

"Well, Skippy," Yusuke grabs them both then turns back to the show and hands them to Kuwabara. "Relax and you will enjoy these." Kuwabara keeps his mouth shut for once and nods a thank you as he downs them both. Kuwabara sits motionless and delighted with the spiritual drink flowing within.

11:09 pm "That's our man." Yusuke announces as the door shuts behind Todd. Todd walks up to the bar and motions for Suzie. While Yusuke and Kuwabara sit without movement watching the dancing girls. Todd then disappears behind the swinging door and Suzie approaches our boys.

"Todd said anything you want tonight is on the house, so drink up." Suzie smiles and moves closer to Yusuke. "He also said, he would like to meet with you when you have a minute."

"I have a minute now." Yusuke turns on his stool to see Suzie. "Shall you lead the way."

"Follow me." Suzie mns Yns Yusuke to come through the swinging door.

"Come on Skippy." Yusuke jumps from his stool and follows Suzie with Kuwabara close on their tails. Suzie leads them through the kitchen and up a staircase to the second floor; she then knocks on the door at the far end of the hall. There are four other doors in the hall two on each side.

"Come in." Todd welcomes from the other side. Suzie opens the door and steps in to hold it while the other two enter one at a time. "Please sit." Todd motions them to sit, in two large black leather chairs. They sit while Suzie excuses herself and leaves. "Well, I am so glad you could take a minute to see me, is it Bob?" Todd asks Yusuke while he joins them in sitting; he sits opposite the chairs on a black leather love sofa.

"Yeah." Yusuke answers, "So why did you want to see me?"

"Yes well I did want to see you, however I didn't realize you would be bringing company." Todd smirks at Kuwabara.

"This is Skippy." Yusuke introduces, Todd snickers. "My right hand man, he comes everywhere with me."

"Yet," Todd snickers, "Skippy was not with you last night."

"And that means?" Yusuke questions.

"I was just wondering why."

"Well I don't really think it's your business, but it really isn't anything to brag about either so I'll tell ya, Nerd Skippy here was studying for mid-terms with some chick and didn't want to go out, so I went it alone, ran into a friend of mine named Vartan that I hadn't seen in a while so we came here for a couple of drinks, because he said a friend of his said it was a cool place to hang. That's why I was here without lover boy last night do ya see?" Yusuke says it all quick and stern to get it over with and then relaxes back in his chair.

"I see, so you guys are a couple of collage boys."

"Something like that." Yusuke agrees.

"So, tell me would I be right in assuming you boys could use some cash."

"Who couldn't use some cash?" Yusuke urges him on.

"You are correct, my bright friend. So let me get down to it."

"Please." Yusuke agrees.

"I would like to start with info, you tell me what you can about your friend Vartan and the short black haired guy you were with last night. I will pay you accordingly. The better the info the better the fee. You understand?" Todd asks Yusuke.

Yusuke nods and begins to spew, "Well it's been along time since I have seartaartan. I was ticked at old Skip here because he wouldn't go party with me so I went to the bar just down the road, The Hole in The Wall, and was having a few, when in came Vartan and we started talking so about an hour laterwerewere coming here and ran into his friend. I think his name is, Chuck," Yusuke smiles at his payback. "Yes, Chuck was it, I don't know much about him he didn't stick with us the whole night he was kind of a loner. And that's all the info I have."

"I see wha what did you do when you left here last night with Kook?"

"Kook," Yusuke laughs, "Yes who could forget that name. I didn't do anything but ride in the back of the pickup I never said two words to her last night but thank you when she brought me a drink. I was leaving when I seen an unfair fight in the lot so I jumped in to help, she came running out with Chuck and ran over those guys. Almost hitting us, I might add. We jumped in the back and she drove us to a Biker Bar and let us out. That's the first, last and only time I have seen that chick."

"Very well." Todd throws some cash at Yusuke, who pockets it quickly after a once over. "Now let us talk about a job."

"We're all ears." Yusuke shifts to get comfortable in his chair, while Kuwabara sits tall and proud.

"So it's the both of you or no deal."

"Yelp, unless of course Skippy is on a date or at band camp or something." Yusuke smiles.

"Well then I would like to have the full names of both of you." Todd hands them each a clipboard holding paper and pen. "Then below that your address and home phone. Those will go in my personal book No one else will have access to them." Todd pulls two cell phones from the top draw. "This you must have on you at all times because if you work for me you are on call 24 / 7." Todd smiles at Kuwabara. "I will let you have dates, but don't make it a habit." Todd presses a button on his desk and the door opens. "This is," A Tall medium build man stands next to Todd, "My right hand man, you will take orders from him or I, but no one else. His name is B. R." Todd takes the clipboards from them and reads their names a loud introducing them to B. R. "Now I want you to go down stairs and enjoy some playtime. However, do try to remember you are employed now and I can call you anytime. Are we ustoostood."

"All except one thing." Yusuke says. "You didn't mention our pay in that whole speech."

"Ah Yes!" Todd opens another desk draw, pulls two envelopes, and tosses one to each boy. "This is your first weeks pay, so now you are pre-paid employees and I expect that you act it."

"Uhhh." Kuwabara stunned at hhickhick envelope. "What if I don't want this job?"

"First you give back the money, then you leave the way you came in." Todd states calmly.

"OH!" Kuwabara pl the the money in his pocket. "I may stop studding, and just work for you this is more cash then I will get with a degree and I don't have to pay taxes either." Todd giggles, and Yusuke looks at him like he is stupid. "I'll go have a drink to celebrate." Kuwabara stands up and leaves waving for Yusuke to join him. "Come on Bob, I'm buying." Yusuke sits and waits for Kuwabara and B. R. to leave the room.

"So Todd can I ask you something?"

"Of course, anything."

"What is your full name?" Yusuke smiles, "REAL name."

"So Bob have you been doing your homework?"

"As I am sure you did, before you asked me here."

"And what did you come up with?"

"Not to much, something about an underground gang, and you took your name from a movie." Yusuke snickers a little.

"Well, you will learn more after you have earned my trust, so don't play me a fool, boy, because I do strike back."

"I have no intentions on playing you the fool Todd," Yusuke stands to leave. "But I'll be damned if I play the fools part."

"Then we are in agreement," Todd leads Yusuke to the door. "I will call you soon." Todd shuts the door behind Yusuke and sits at his desk. Yusuke joins his half lit friend Skippy.

"Man I have to tell ya,-hiccup- this is my favorite mission yet." Kuwabara downs an after shock, waves for another and watches the show.

"Yeah well don't have to much fun, I figure Todd is going to give us a little test tonight."

"Don't worry your pretty head over me -hicup- little Bob," Kuwabara turns and picks up his Jack and Coke, "I am just havinlittlittle fun, my mind is as sharp as ever -hicup- Do you need proof?" Yusuke nods a no, and Kuwabara turns to dance with the three ladies standing waiting for him to join them.

Yusuke laughs as he watches Kuwabara shake a leg. "I guess I'm the babysitter tonight."

"So," Suzie slaps a drink down for Yusuke, "I hear you're an employee now."

"Yelp." Yusuke takes the drink.

"Well then if its not to much trouble will you help me keep an eye one that table in the corner with the four guys, they are real tuned and getting out of hand, and with out Bronzy tonight I am a little short handed."

"Sure." Yusuke sits and studies those four for a moment then looks for Kuwabara who is still having a good time, he then scans the rest of the room just taking it all in. Kuwabara dances up to the bar and motions for refills as two girls yell for him to come back.

"Skippy, come on dance, Skippy." The girls beckon.

"This is the best time I have had since -hiccup-...since I don't know when. Not even you, -hiccup- BOB -hiccup-, could nock me out of this mood."

"Yukina." Yusuke plays the word game as he notices Bronzy come through the door.

"Love of my life" Hicup- he is doing nothing wrong, just a little drinking and dancing.

"Hiei."

-Hicup- "Short Shit." Kuwabara laughs at his own wit and heads back to the floor not even Yusuke could stop his fun tonight. Yusuke watches Bronzy enter the swinging door after a short chat with Suzie.

Suzie approaches Yusuke with a fresh drink. "Hey, is either one of your other friends showing up tonight. I would like to see that short one again."

"I don't know him, he came with the other guy I know but not to well." Yusuke takes his fresh drink and downs number five.

"I see, what a shame." Suzie rushes off to get him another refill.

12:15 am Todd and Bronzy enter the bar through the swinging door, and sit down one on each side of Yusuke. "Well Bob," Todd takes the drink Suzie set in front of him. "I have a job for ya, I want you to follow this guy." Todd hands him a picture. "He goes by the name Steve, he plays in a band, his band is playing tonight at the 'Slam and Jam' bar. Here are the directions." Todd takes a drink to wet his mouth and continues. "He will be there until at least 2, I want you to follow him and tell me where he is living and what he is up to. Do you understand?"

"I do." Yusuke downs his drink. "I have one problem."

"I am sure we can fix it." Todd says smoothly.

"We lent our only ride to a friend tonight, we thought we would catch a ride with a pretty lady or crawl."

Todd giggles, "Morels, I like it." He then hands Yusuke two keys. "The red one is for the Mustang, and the black one is to get back in here. There are four rooms up stairs, I will put your name on one door and his name on the other." He points to Kuwabara. "If you choose you can stay here when you are done with the tail. I will make sure there is a surprise in your rooms when you return." Todd stands and motions for Bronzy to follow as they exit the building.

Yusuke watches as Todd and Bronzy exit. Kuwabara is on the dance floor surrounded by half naked ladies, they are rubbing their bodies up and down against Kuwabara. Yusuke smiles as he downs another drink and two S and B shots then he mozies over to Kuwabara who is encircled by five ladies.

"Skippy." Yusuke says low and calm trying to get his attention. Kuwabara does not look his way. "What is he doing?" Kuwabara clothes his eyes as the ladies press their warm bodies against his.

-Hiccup- "OH YEAH!" Kuwabara shouts in joy.

1:00 am Yusuke steps closer. "We need to get going." Kuwabara ignores him and continues his dancing. "STOP IT!" Yusuke shouts.

"WHAT?" -hicup- Kuwabara stops and stares at him.

"YOU'RE PURRING."

"Your point." Kuwabara staggers as a girl rubes his head and brushes her flesh against him.

"Point being," Yusuke turns to exit the building, "Tuff guys don't purr."

"They do when they are petted -hicup- like that." Kuwabara hes hes up with Yusuke.

1:15 am Yusuke and Kuwabara get in the Mustang. "KILLER." Yusuke announces as he settles in the drivers seat.

"So where are we off to now?" Kuwabara asks as he buckles up after the spin out Yusuke just done.

"Another Party." Yusuke floors the gas pedal and Kuwabara flies back in his seat. "Hang on Man." Yusuke laughs as he goes a little faster. "This is going to be fun."

"URIMESHIE!" Kuwabara shouts from his fetal position in the seat. "SLOW DOWN!"

Yusuke laughs and goes faster. "HELL NO!"
