Scene 44 ------------------------------------------- Hiei's Bedroom

* When Yusuke enters the heavy curtain is drawn shut making the room dark. His demon eyes still take in the sight of the small koorime curled up in the middle of the big bed. Yusuke's senses tell him that Hiei is awake, but he just keeps his back to Yusuke. The large bed serves to make Hiei look smaller in his curled up position. Yusuke sighs quietly and goes over closer to the bed.


Yusuke- This bed is too big for you..


* Hiei doesn't respond. Yusuke sits at the foot of the bed and leans back against the stone floorboard.


Yusuke- We need to talk, Shorty.


* Still no response.


Yusuke- I know you're awake.. Please sit up and face me, Hiei.


* After a couple moments Hiei sits up and turns to face Yusuke on his knees, but he keeps his head bowed so he won't meet Yusuke's eyes. The Toushin studies Hiei's posture a moment.


Yusuke- I didn't mean to insult you out there.. or reject your.. gesture.. Look up at me, Babe, please.


* Slowly Hiei obeys.


Yusuke- I want you to open yourself to our bond.. I want you to know that what I'm telling you is the truth.

Hiei- I trust you.

Yusuke- Hiei, please.


* Hiei nods respectfully and obeys. Yusuke feels their youkai connect and continues.


Yusuke- I've carried guilt.. about what happened between us ever since Satjiyu's.. situation.. Then, I was virtually helpless to prevent your further abuse at the hands of that other b------..

Hiei- Neither of those things was your fault.

Yusuke- The twins are mine.

Hiei- I've never denied that. It seems that they have accepted you..

Yusuke- They're a real pair of spitfires.. I love them.. I love you, Hiei.


* Hiei lowers his eyes again.


Hiei- But you can't..

Yusuke- You're not going to change that.


* Hiei closes his eyes and a heavy silence fills the room until Yusuke continues.


Yusuke- Now Kurama has done his best to explain all this s--- to me.. About this demon pecking order or whatever.. To a point, I get it.. And I appreciate that you're doing your best to.. accept this..

Hiei- You're my First Alpha.. Kurama is my Second Alpha..

Yusuke- That's all well and good.. But I don't want to become.. just another Satjiyu or.. whatever the h--- the other creep's name was..

Hiei- Kichiro.

Yusuke- Whatever. He's lucky Yomi got to him before I did.


* Hiei feels the heaviness in Yyusuke's heart as he speaks. The koorime lifts his eyes back up to cautiously meet Yusuke's, but he doesn't know how to deal with what he feels.


Yusuke- I know what their abuse.. did to you.. I know it has scarred you.. How it has left these.. marks.. on your body, in your hair.. Inside..


* Yusuke leans to brush his fingers through Hiei's spikes.


Yusuke- There's nothing I can do to.. remove them.. None of them.. But I don't want to.. add to their shame.. To lower you any further.. Do you undersstand what I'm saying?

Hiei- Hn.. I don't see you as either of those monsters.


* Hiei looks away, not sure how to put his own feelings into words. Yusuke feels his inner turmoil and gently moves the hand down to guide Hiei to look at him again.


Yusuke- I can feel you.. You don't have to say a word.

Hiei- Ever since that day we fought in the warehouse.. The day that your energy destroyed both the monster within me and my foolish desire for power..

Yusuke- Hiei,..

Hiei- Shut up! This is my turn, Detective!


* Yusuke almost laughs at Hiei's brief show of his spunky nature. Hiei takes a moment to feel his Alpha's emotion, then continues.


Hiei- From that day on.. My respect for you grew.. I was reluctant to accept anyone's.. friendship or trust.. let alone admit to myself what I knew deep inside to be true.. In all my life.. since I escaped from Satjiyu that first time.. only two have ever bested me in battle.. At least two battles that ever meant anything.. Kurama and you..

Yusuke- But didn't Mukuro..

Hiei- (Growls) I said battles that meant anything! Pay attention, Yusuke!


* A smirks plays on Yusuke's lips. Hiei looks away to continue.


Hiei- You conquered Kurama on that rooftop.. He had little trouble giving you his devotion from that night on.. You conquered me.. later.. through battle.. Even though you didn't have a clue what was taking place.. What you were, Mazoku.. Your inner demon nature was still guiding your every action, though.. You didn't kill me like you did Goki.


* Hiei looks back up at him.


Hiei- Hasn't that ever seemed odd to you, Yusuke?

Yusuke- A lot of things make more sense now that I look back over my life..

Hiei- Hn.. My point is that Kurama has always been your First.. Fate has ways of getting her way.. This is an old saying among demons.. It holds true.

Yusuke- Okay. I get that, Hiei.. I truly do.. I just don't want to degrade you or.. abuse you..


* Hiei lowers his eyes again. He notices Yusuke's one bare foot that's laying on the bed closest to him. When he picks it up Yusuke clamps his mouth shut. Hiei meets his eyes again.


Hiei- This is not.. demeaning for me.. It is my open showing.. of my desire to honor you,.. Alpha.


* The koorime keeps Yusuke's eyes as he leans to run his warm tongue slowly up the length of Yusuke's foot, starting at the top of his toes. Hiei pauses a moment at the ankle, then continues to lick a slow path up Yusuke's bared shin. By the time he reaches the hem of the short houserobe at the knee he notices the change in Yusuke's eyes. Hiei gently lays the leg back down and calmly moves up to straddle Yusuke's lap.


Hiei- I accept my position.. I will never leave your side, yet I will never stand between you and my Second Alpha Kurama..


* Yusuke raises one of his arms to draw Hiei up closer.


Hiei- Do you accept my pledge now?


* The Toushin slowly nods.


Yusuke- Hn.


* When Hiei smirks Yusuke leans and captures his mouth. Hiei opens wide to fully accept his Alpha's deep kiss. When he soon finds himself on his back beneath Yusuke he lifts a hand to nudge him back some.


Hiei- Yusuke, I'm already..

Yusuke- I know.. I can just barely feel its pulse of energy.

Hiei- I.. I only wish to carry one.. this time..


* Yusuke shifts his weight to his hip.


Yusuke- So.. if we do this.. it could create another?


* Hiei nods.


Hiei- When kitsune's are caught it ends their heat.. But with fire demons..

Yusuke- Their fertility lasts as long as their cycle.

Hiei- Hn.. But if you desire me to have twins..

Yusuke- I won't love one any less than two.. eh.. maybe next time we can have triplets.

Hiei- Like h---! I thought you studied koorime reproduction..


* Yusuke nods with a chuckle and dips his head to nip at Hiei's nose.


Yusuke- I know you'll never carry more than two at a time.. I was just.. yanking your leg.


* Hiei gets a mischievious smirk on his face.


Hiei- I think you just solved our current problem, Alpha.


* Hiei's unwarded hand strokes down Yusuke's well-muscled chest, opening the houserobe as he goes.


Yusuke- What are you up to, Shorty?


* The hand finds its way to the Toushin's need. Yusuke closes his eyes with a moan.


Hiei- Will you allow me to give you your release, Alpha?

Yusuke- Uhmm.. Sometimes you.. talk too much, koi.


* Yusuke lowers his mouth back down to Hiei's and mentally encourages his small mate to continue his plans. Hiei draws on his vast experience to bring Yusuke manually to a couple crashing completions before they finally end up laid out on the large bed in each others' arms. Yusuke catches his breath as he kisses the top of the koorime's head.


Yusuke- Bed.. doesn't seem so.. big now..

Hiei- Hn.


* They quietly slip off to catch a nap and restore the energy they just expelled.
