Scene 41
Scene 41 ------------------------------------------- Two Days Later
* For the past couple days, Hiei has been left alone to brood. When he stirs this morning, the first thing he realizes is that his heat is no longer able to be ignored. By the crumpled look of his sheets, he deduces that his rest was not a peaceful one last night. As he sits up, he raises a hand half-consciously to rub at Yusuke's bite mark. When it begins to send a tingling sensation down his spine he removes his hand and scowls at it. He then leaves the bed with a growl.
Hiei- I don't need anymore brats, d--- it!!
* Hiei's scent is so thick in the room he's closed himself in that he can smell it himself. It makes him pause and curl his upper lip a moment. Then he looks toward the door amazed that Yusuke or Kurama haven't already stormed in.
Hiei- Hn.. Kurama's pregnant.. He wouldn't be as affected..
* The longer Hiei paces, the more curiosity niggles at him. Then a new thought stops him in his tracks, 'What if Yusuke is rejecting me now..' When Yusuke's voice breaks into his thoughts suddenly it makes him jolt around to look toward the door thinking he'd entered.
(#) Yusuke- Aww, now you know that's not true, Shorty.
* Hiei snarls.
Hiei- Great! Now you can get into my mind?!
(#) Yusuke- It's a bond thing.. I can sever the connection..
Hiei- Where the h--- are you?!
(#) Yusuke- In the kitchen having breakfast like normal people do every morning.. A bit testy this morning, aren't we?
Hiei- Testy?! I'll show you testy..!
* Totally lost to his aggitation, Hiei blurs out of the room and appears next in the kitchen. He shows up so quickly that it startles Kurama's kits. They all four jolt and look up hissing. Hiei's twins and Chiisai look at them puzzled.
Ichiro- It's just Papa.
Jiro- Yeah. He's always blinking in like that.
* Hiei pauses a moment when he finds his boys joining 'the family' for breakfast. But then his flaring eyes settle on Yusuke. The Toushin's nostrils are flared and Hiei can see that he is barely restraining himself. Hiei points toward the table.
Hiei- Do you see how many brats are there?!
* Kurama answers as he settles his kits down.
Kurama- Seven.
Hiei- And how many are you expecting again, Fox?
Kurama- Three.
* Yusuke stands, drawn by Hiei's rage which spikes his scent.
Hiei- Isn't that enough?
Yusuke- Then why didn't you stay in your room?
* Hiei dodges his advancing Alpha a couple times as he answers.
Hiei- I came out here.. to tell you.. what an idiot you are..
Yusuke- Well go ahead, Shorty.. Tell me..
* Kurama rolls his eyes as his mates continue their game of cat and mouse around the kitchen. He's suspected that it would end up like this as Hiei's High Heat grew unbearable.
Kurama- The kids are trying to eat.. Why don't you two take it outside?
Hiei- Because he wouldn't have a prayer of catching me out there! That's why he's keeping me away from the door.
* Now Yusuke halts and motions toward the doorway with a sneer.
Yusuke- Why don't we test that theory, Flash?
* Hiei growls. He feels how aroused his body has become. He must keep away from Yusuke.
Hiei- Hn.
Yusuke- I guarantee I'll catch..
* In a blink Hiei is gone. Yusuke gives an amused growl and disappears after him. Kurama sighs and takes a deep breath, drawing in the remnants of Hiei's scent. He's almost tempted to join them, but the temtation is only fleeting. He then shakes his head and returns to looking after his kits.
Kurama- Finish eating now.
Ichiro- Can we go upstairs to continue our classes?
Kurama- Classes?
Chiisai- Uncle Koe says it's important that we learn things.
Kurama- We'll have to look into that later.. In a couple days.. Right now, finish eating.
Jiro- Is Father going to hurt Papa?
Kurama- Not more than necessary.. Don't worry about them, boys. Your Papa can handle himself.
* With all the questions settled, the kids all return to their eating. Kurama allows his senses to scan out and follow the chase going on outside, all over the castle grounds. Two blurs darting and dodging around. Through the trees, over walls and back. Kurama returns his attention to the kids when Ichiro asks for more food.
Kurama- Of course.. Anyone else?
* Jiro and Yurama raise their hands. Kurama nods and takes their plates to the stove.
