Hiei's Harem - PT. 17 - Breaking

Scene 4 ---------- Back In Demon World


* After travelling at a good pace most of the day and encountering nothing more than the occassional death-wished rogue, the group comes out of a forest into a long stretch of barren land. Yusuke looks up at Kurama after watching Hiei begin to scan the area.


Yusuke- So what you’re saying.. is that he’ll be as hard to deal with as you were the last time we came here?

Kurama- So far he hasn’t shown any undue aggression.. But then, you’ve behaved yourself so far.. Besides, spring is over now.


* When Hiei is satisfied that there’s no great threat anywhere near he turns back to the others.


Hiei- We’ll settle here for the night.


* Yusuke and Kurama watch the three Lynxs and Dagon quickly gather wood into a couple nice piles. Hiei glances toward Kurama and Yusuke. He doesn’t let on that he’s heard every word of their nearly endless prattle for the past couple hours. Since he has no disagreement with much of what the Kitsune has said. Hiei looks toward Dagon and the Crow nods.


Dagon- My turn to get food. Right, boss.


* Dagon sprouts his wings and takes off. Yusuke watches him until he disappears then moves to sit on a log. Sylk turns away from Kurama’s intense gaze.


Sylk- I’ll go do some hunting, also.


* When she turns to leave Hiei reaches out and grabs ahold of her tail again. The Pantheress yowls threateningly as she glares back down at him.


Hiei- I’d rather you stay.


* The Koorime glances toward Yusuke and Kurama.


Hiei- Entertain yourselves. I have other business.


* When Hiei turns and moves away to sit near one of the wood piles Sylk follows. She feels his desires and casts another glance toward Kurama and Yusuke.


(#) Sylk- You dare to make a spectacle of my submission in front of them?

(#) Hiei- It has nothing to do with them.. I need to be distracted, Sylk, or I’ll blur back to the fortress and leave you all stranded here.


* Hiei relaxes and opens himself up fully to her. When Sylk feels his deep concern for Chevaux she tilts her head.


Sylk- Why be so concerned?

Hiei- She’s expecting twins.

Sylk- Oh d---.. Do you have any idea..? Wait, of course you do. That’s why..


* Hiei sighs and lowers his eyes.


Hiei- Tachi.. explained it to me.. I wanted to.. take one of them..

Sylk- But Chevie wouldn’t let you. Typical mother, of course.


* She drops to her knees straddling his lap. Hiei raises his hands and embraces her closer to hide his face. Yusuke and Kurama look to the side when a portal pops open. Koenma steps out quickly and looks around.


Koenma- D--- you guys travel fast. Where’s..?


* They motion toward the woodpile. Hiei feels the Teen approaching and pulls away from Sylk with an agitated groan.


Koenma- Hiei, sorry to bother you. But a situation has..

Hiei- Concerning my Mare.

Koenma- You know that she’s..? Well, I guess you would.


* Hiei rolls his eyes away, then sits Sylk aside and stands to move away.


Koenma- Hiei,..

Hiei- I want nothing from you.

Koenma- You have your position. You earned the right to keep it all by yourself. You can stop being so d---ed stubborn.


* Yusuke and Kurama make their way over.


Yusuke- What’s the problem?

Koenma- One of his mates is in labor..

Kurama- We know that much.

Yusuke- It’s why we’re all on this merry journey through this wonderful part of Demon World.. again.

Koenma- This female was in Matsua’s facility..

Hiei- Yusuke knows all about that now, too. Where the h--- have you been?


* Koenma blinks at Hiei who is now glaring up at him. The Teen decides not to tell him the complete truth since he’s already irritated enough.


Koenma- I was doing.. research.. This female is a Horse demon. It puzzled me as to why she’s having twins..

Yusuke- My twins. We know that, too.


* Koenma nearly swallows his pacifier as he looks toward Yusuke angrily.


Koenma- Well I didn't know that until I reviewed what happened with you three after I left..! And thank you very much for not letting me know such important information sooner, Hiei!


Yusuke- You didn't know they were pregnant to us, Mr. I-Know-Everything-So-You-Must-Fear-Me?

Koenma- Uhh, well.. Anyway, Now I wondered how odd it was that a Horse demon would produce twins especially when Toushins aren't traited for this, either..

Hiei- Spare us all your boring knowledge, already.


* Koenma clears his throat.


Koenma- Of course. Well, this particular female, because of her species, was the subject of an experiment.. Matsua double inseminated her just to see how her species would handle it.. It seems that her species isn’t very common in these parts.. Anyhow, that’s why she’s having twins, not because of your genes. That’s why I didn’t look into it before this.


* Koenma looks back at Hiei.


Koenma- So since I feel that this really has nothing to do with the natural order of things I can do something.. But I’m just curious, Hiei. Why is it that these females' offspring all show up as yours in their records. This is what threw me since I assumed they were created when you claimed them.


* Sylk puts her hands on her hips and growls.


Sylk- Whoever the h--- you are, you sure don’t know much about our laws.


* Koenma looks toward her touching his chest.


Koenma- My name is Lord Koenma. I’m the royal son of King Enma.. I’m the one in charge of where you might end up, miss.

Sylk- I already know where I’m going to end up.. Stuck with this short b------ for the rest of my life.


* When Hiei looks up at her she turns to move away, thwapping Hiei gently with her tail, to help Dagon who’s returned with a deer. The gesture, strangely enough, calms the Koorime down some.


Koenma- Wait! I thought you were going to explain this to me!


* Sylk stops and turns to look back at Koenma.


Sylk- When Matsua defeated me he claimed myself and what was left of my pack. By default, these babies he created in us against our will..


* She casts a glance toward Yusuke and Kurama.


Sylk- Rightfully became his. When Master Hiei came along and destroyed Matsua..

Hiei- Basically, it’s the same as when Mukuro passed.. Everything that belonged to that son of a b---- became mine.

Sylk- But most normal alphas would have destroyed our babies, this oddball decided to let them live because these guys are his friends.


* Yusuke and Kurama look back at Hiei. Koenma rubs his temples. Sylk continues off. Hiei slowly turns away from all of them.


Hiei- Hn.. And my decision will cost my Mare her life.


* Koenma looks at Hiei.


Koenma- Like I said, I can help with this.

Hiei- The only way she can survive this is if one of her babies dies.

Yusuke- What?!

Koenma- I know it’s a tough decision, Hiei. But you have to make it quickly.

Yusuke- Wait a minute! Don’t I..?!


* Kurama lays a hand on Yusuke’s shoulder silencing him. Hiei ignores the Toushin’s outburst, too embroiled in his own thoughts at the moment.


Hiei- If you took one of them now she’d know something happened.. She’d never forgive me.

Yusuke- She wouldn’t have to know.


* Hiei closes his eyes. Yusuke swipes Kurama’s hand away and goes over closer to the jaganshi.


Yusuke- These babies are mine.. technically speaking. Right?

Hiei- Yusuke,..


* Yusuke looks back at Koenma.


Yusuke- Take one then Hiei can use this evil eye of his on her like he did me.. and Staci.


* Hiei considers Yusuke’s words a couple moments, then growls.


Hiei- Either way.. I lose another..


* He shakes his head firmly with an angry growl then turns to glance up at Koenma.


Hiei- Do it.


* Before Koenma can comment further Hiei flits away. Habataro looks around, then shoulders the deer. Koenma, Yusuke, and Kurama watch the group all take off after him.


Yusuke- Hey!


* Dagon swoops back to look down at him.


Dagon- He’s decided to just go the rest of the way. He needs to be there now.


* Dagon then wings off again.


Koenma- Come on, Yusuke. Let’s go to Spirit World. I’ll take care of this then portal us to Hiei’s new fortress.

Yusuke- Will he be okay?

Kurama- He seems to be very capable of handling it. But he needs to run, Yusuke. It’ll help him clear his head the same as it always does.

Yusuke- What did he mean.. lose another?


* Koenma turns Yusuke toward his portal.


Koenma- I’ll explain as I work on the order. We have to hurry.


* Yusuke stuffs his hands back in his pockets and continues off with his two friends. Just before he enters the oval he pauses then looks back in the direction Hiei left.


Yusuke- Why do I feel as if we’ve missed half his life?

Kurama- Perhaps we have, Yusuke.


* Yusuke glances up at the Kitsune, then follows Koenma through the portal.

Sorry if some of this sounded confusing. But I wanted to portray Koenma as not as all-knowing as he proclaims to be. No slight, just poking a bit of fun at the overworked Toddler like everyone else does, lol.
