Hiei's Harem: Pt. 6 - Expanding

Thank you very much, uchiha mikomi, for your words of concern. It was a very close family relative that I lost and I've just been hit with losing so many of my 'older' relatives that it's been hard, but this one was a real blow because I thought he would be around for much longer. Death is natural, but it still stinks. No matter what the circumstance.

Scene 4 ------------ Later That Night


* Hiei's unrest is disturbed by his ever-vigilant jagan. He springs upright half expecting to find a trio of felines sneaking into his hut. He is puzzled a moment when he finds only silence. Then his jagan flares wider and he wastes no time in blurring out of the hut. His many years of mastering the third eye gives him no reason to doubt its alarm. The village, though, is quiet and peaceful, every hut and building dark. Then a scream from the other side of the village splits the night. The apparition blinks toward the disturbance. Just as he lands in the middle of a different dirt road a dark shadow flits past him. Kumataro yells and bursts out of his hut.


Kumataro- No! Darieth!!


* Hiei looks up at the tall angry Cat.


Kumataro- That was the rogue..! He took my..!


* Hiei wastes no further time listening. He uses his own speed to give chase as the rest of the clan emerges from their abodes. At first the chase, for Hiei, is more out of curiosity than bloodlust. But as he pursues the equally fast shadow he catches sight of the young female flung over his shoulder. For a brief moment Staci's face stabs through Hiei's mind. Releasing his full power Hiei is easily able to blink ahead of the rogue and cut him off. The small , dark, ugly demon skids to a halt just before crashing into this similarly-statured stranger. As Hiei talks the rogue notices his still-glowing jagan.


Hiei- Drop her and face me, Trash.


* The shadow snarls and opens his own jagan. Although it is strong enough to stave off any effects from Hiei's third eye, this is fairly much the extent of its powers.


Hiei- You think you're pretty brave using that to sneak in under cover of darkness to snatch pregnant b----es.. But I doubt that you're brave enough to drop her and fight me.

Rogue- You wisssh me to.. drop her, do you?


* The lizard-type demon gives a hissing laugh and displays his strength by holding the young girl out away from him by the belt of her robe.


Hiei- Hn.. I dare you, lizard.


* When the lizard releases her the female gives a short scream just before she lands safely in another pair of arms. The rogue hisses in anger as Hiei flits away to a safer distance and lays the fainted girl down gently. He spins to face the rogue who'd given chase.


Rogue- Who the f--- are you?! That'sss my meal!


* The quick lizard slams into Hiei and the two demons roll away struggling, fighting with almost equal strength and ferocity. In such close contact Hiei can find no opening to be able to draw his katana from its enchanted sheath on his back. So the battle, for the moment, remains only hand-to-hand. With his instincts fueled by the pure rage this rogue is inciting, Hiei matches the rival blow for blow. Working frantically to avoid his snapping jaws full of needle-sharp, flesh-tearing teeth. Then the lizard gets the first break when Hiei misses a punch. The Koorime yells out angrily when he feels those teeth latch onto his unwarded arm. The sharp teeth continue to rip and tear into Hiei's arm deeper as the lizard shakes his head. Somewhere amidst the pain and mayhem, Hiei's brain catches up. Slowly the Fire demon calms himself, summons his energy, and erupts his whole body in black flames. The pregnant demoness moans as she starts to wake up. When she sees that her rescuer is now engulfed in flames she screams and faints away again. The rogue soon finds himself unable to take the heat much longer. He releases Hiei's arm and starts to struggle to get away. For a brief moment Hiei's injured arm loses its grip and the lizard makes a scurrying run for some rocks. Hiei flips to his feet.


Hiei- Oh, I think not, you slimy b------!


* The Koorime streaks after the rogue and gets a good grip on his whip-like tail, sets his heels in the dirt, and hangs on. He feeds more flames into the lizard until finally, after what seems like hours, the rogue is well-roasted. Hiei slowly releases the immobile, smoldering lump and clutches his left arm. He heaves as he watches the reptillian marauder reduced to ashes. Then he hears voices approaching. When he tries to stand the dizziness of bloodloss hits him and he staggers as he tries to make his way back toward the unconscious female. Just as he reaches her he stumbles, but he's caught up by someone. The apparition's weary, addled mind slowly registers who is holding him just before he passes out into hibernation.


Habataro- He destroyed the rogue.. Is she okay, Kuma?


* Habataro gathers Hiei up fully as he looks toward his brother who is doing likewise with the young female.


Kumataro- She's just passed out, but she seems to be fine.. Thank the fates!

Habataro- Good. Let's get them back to the village.


* The three brothers and the small group of males that had come with them turn to head back to the village quickly.
