Scene 4 ------------------------------------------- Back In Spirit World

* Koenma is sitting in the cafeteria watching the twins and Chiisai finish off their third bowls of ice cream. They'd all inherited their Papa's love of the sweet, creamy cold treat. They all look up when Botan comes over. Chiisai chirps.


Chiisai- Aunt Botie!


* Botan smiles weakly and embraces the child that is suddenly clamped to her neck.


Koenma- What's wrong, Botan?

Botan- Chi-Chi.. has an.. amazing grip..

Koenma- Chibi, get down now. Your Aunt Botie has something important to tell me.


* Botan scowls at her boss as Chiisai blinks back to his seat.


Botan- Not in front of.. them.


* Koenma stands, sensing the urgency in Botan's voice.


Koenma- Okay, boys. You've had enough ice cream to keep you going for the rest of the week.

Ichiro- So now what do we do? We've already finished all our classes for today.

Jiro- Let's go to the library, Ichi.. Those ogres are still fun to annoy.

Chiisai- Yeah! They love it when I squeak really loud!


* Koenma watches the three boys run off, then shakes his head.


Koenma- Those three need a hobby.. I said Spirit World would never be the same.

Botan- They certainly have their Papa's appetite for ice cream.

Koenma- Yeah. It's the only thing I could do to distract them from wanting my job.


* Koenma now looks back at Botan again.


Koenma- Speaking of that..


* Koenma motions toward the file under Botan's arm. She gives it to him sadly.


Botan- I was wondering why you weren't already over to the East Wing.


* Koenma looks back at her as soon as he sees the name.


Koenma- Shizuru?! What happened?!

Botan- All I've ascertained so far is that it was a random act of violence.. But I felt a faint demonic signature.


* Koenma looks back down at the folder. He scans the information quickly to learn where she's being held, then they hurry off to the elevator.


Botan- Kasaba wasn't with her.

Koenma- Let's hope the Humans' CYS program has him.


* In the elevator Botan looks at the Prince.


Botan- You know about her wishes..

Koenma- Yes.. Unfortunately.


* Koenma clenches his jaw.


Koenma- My hands are tied now about that.. The humans don't waste time incinerating the ones that choose cremation.


* The godling shakes his head to clear his mind as they get out on the East Wing. The pair quickly finds the right Holding Room, then the right storage room.


Botan- I had them place her in one of these rooms where she'd be more comfortable and relaxed.


* When they enter the Internment Room Shizuru's spirit is pacing and cursing angrily. The brunette's form turns to face her visitors.


Shizuru- It's about d--- time!!

Koenma- Do you realize what a shock this is for us, Shizuru?

Shizuru- Look, Yukina and were attacked by a gang of thug demons!! They took me out right away, but before I left that plain I watched Yukina grab Kasaba up and take off.

Botan- Oh no..

Koenma- Do you think those demons were after Kasaba?


* Shizuru turns away shaking her head.


Shizuru- I couldn't help but get the impression that it was Yukina they were after.. But I don't understand..

Koenma- Talk to me, Shizuru. Botan and I know that Kasaba inherited his Father's gift..

Shizuru- D--- curse is more descriptive!

Botan- Oh, Shizuru.

Shizuru- I was just telling Yukina about how Sabie had been questioning me the last few days.. He asked me about the other worlds.. Then he told me that Shadow People would come and take him away to another world.


* Shizuru turns back toward them with her arms crossed.


Koenma- Because of that will you penned.. and stubbornly refused to change.. I have no other choice but to send you on.

Shizuru- I know that.. I don't care about how toasty my body is right now! You need to find Yukina and Sabie!

Botan- If they have Sabie in Demon World he'll be safe.. The eatting of half humans was abolished by Demon World's King Enki after Lord Koenma destroyed the demon that killed...

Shizuru- While you two are standing here giving me all this worthless information time is passing!!

Koenma- Okay. Calm down.. I'll just have to process you then...

Shizuru- I'm not going anywhere until I'm sure you've found them, Shorty!!


* Botan takes a couple steps back away from the Teen Prince. Koenma's face reddens a moment, then he clears his throat and backs up as well.


Koenma- I meant.. I'll just let you relax here until we've recovered Yukino and Kasaba.

Shizuru- That sonds like a good plan.


* Koenma and Botan continue backing out of the room. When the door is closed Koenma releases the breath he was holding.


Koenma- She is the scariest human I've ever met.


* Koenma then flips through the doorhangers in the holder beside the door until he finds the 'Hold Indefinately' one and hangs it on the doorknob. He then quickly removes his pacifier, twist the handle loose, and uses it to stamp his seal on the doorhanger. Koenma then sends Botan off to fetch Yusuke as he puts the Mafuuken back together. Koenma then heads for his office with Shizuru's folder still under his arm.
