“She must of used all her strength for that punch.” Yusuke said standing over the young woman who had just punched out Koemna. “She’s got spunk you gotta give her that. Did what I’ve always wanted to do.” He looked over at Koemna who was now rubbing his cheek.
“Koemna may I read that report?” Kurama reached for the report, which was handed to him. He began reading through the report. “Attempted assassination… Hey here is her testimony. ‘I was in that bar. No I didn’t say I was going to kill Emna.’ It goes on to say how she lashed out at him shouting obscenities and had to be restrained by twelve ogers and the entire spirit detective team at the time. It says that she has the ability to steal spirit energy to heal while using her own to create attacks.” He thought for a second. “Why hasn’t she taken any of our spirit energy to heal?”
“She is fighting her will to live with her morals of not stealing from others.” Said Hiei who was off looking out the window. “She felt you, Fox, when you touched her forehead she started fighting with herself not to steal your spirit energy.”
“Hiei were you reading her mind?”
“Her barriers are down and her thoughts are going everywhere. If you would open your barriers when she is awake, Fox you would hear them too.” Kurama looked at him with shock then smiled. Even thought Hiei acted like he didn’t give a damn he did. Kurama knew it. There was something about this girl who just seemed to make Hiei a little more at ease. He spoke and his eyes were less harsh. There was something going to be very interesting in the future Kurama could feel it.
After a few days they found more about the young woman. Elfleda was born into a poor family and after a year she was placed into the snow so that she would die without so much suffering. She was found by a band of gypsies and raised by them. She was with them until they robbed her of everything she had but the clothes on her back and left her in the middle of the night. She tracked them down and found out that they do that to all the ones who are most successful in the group. Other than the leader. Elfleda was then alone at a young age.
Her mind was sharp and slowly she was able to regain speech and movement. After two months she was now fully able to run at her top speed, which rivaled Kurama (Second fastest). She was eating on her own and eating as much as Yusuke. It turns out that beside her spirit energy stealing abilities she could also sense spirits and make slight predictions as well as Kuwabara. They had moved her to Genkai’s Dojo. She had mostly stayed inside due to her weakened state. Koemna called the four members of the team into another room while Elfleda was in the kitchen with Boton and Yukina.
“Gentlemen I think that Elfleda will have to spend the rest of her sentence in a jail cell once again for the last fifty years. You will need to grab those spirit restrains and…’
“Now wait just a god dammed minute.” Yusuke stood and slammed his hands on the desk. “You mean to say that after all she has been through and recovered from, at least physically, she has to go back into the place she would have died in if it weren’t for us exploring more of this place?”
“I have to agree with Yusuke. There must be a better solution. Take us for example. Hiei and I have yet to revert to our old ways unless you ask them of us. And she is quite strong. I think she should join the team.” Kurama stated in a much calmer way than his brash leader.
“Yea I think so too!” Kuwabara said standing. Hiei even nodded in agreement.
“With right training she could be just as good as the rest of us. What do you say Koemna?” stated Yusuke.
“I will have to see. Begin training her. If she can be ready for battle by the next mission I will allow her to join the team.”
