Chapter 4
It was starting to get darker out and finally Yusuke made up his mind. "I guess it won't kill me it I go see him. Mom will do it if I don't." He said to himself and grabbed his favorite red jacket. He locked up the house and hurriede to Spirit World. He forced his way past ogres and saw part of the wall missing to Koenma's office. "What the hell happened!?" Yusuke yelled and George came up to him. "King Yama and Koenma had a fight. Poor Koenma!" George balled and Yusuke grabbed him.
"What do you mean 'poor Koenma'? What happened?" George sobbed and held onto him. "He's so depressed! He's in his room and won't come out!" Tears sprayed everywhere and Yusuke let him go. "Where's his room? I need to talk to him." Yusuke said and George stood tall. "Let me show the way. Hopefully he'll talk to you." The Ogre started walking and Yusuke sighed, following him.
So many stairways, and twist and turns later they ended up at a lonley door. "This is his room." Yusuke banged on the door and yelled. "Koenma it's Yusuke. I need to talk to you." There was silence and he tried again. "It's about my mom." The door creaked open a little and Koenma looked out. "What about your mom?" He asked. "Let me in, I vow I won't go ballistic or anything." Yusuke said and the door opened for him to get in. George tried and Koenma threw him out. "Damn it George leave me alone! You act like a God damned puppy dog!'' Koenma yelled and slammed the door on the wailing ogre.
"Okay now Yusuke tell me." Koenma said and sucked on his pacifier. "Well she told me to apologize to you, for what I did. She said you're the nicest man she's ever been with. So I came to say...I'm sorry." Yusuke said and Koenma nodded. "Okay. I need to tell her something also. We can't...see each other anymore." Koenma said, tears stinging his eyes. "What!? Hey I said I'm sorry, mom will kill me if thinks I made you break up with her."
"It's not you." Koenma said, wiping his eyes with his purple sleeve. "My father will destroy you two if I continue to see her. He can't stand humans or demons." Yusuke squinted his eyes, a flush of anger creeping into his face. "He said he'll kill my mom if you keep being with her?" Koenma nodded. "Something to that effect, yes. Not just her, but you and maybe even me. I don't really think he'll kill me though. He's one that would rather go for the deep soul killing hurt than actually finishing me." Koenma said and his blood shot gold eyes looked at him. "I can't take the chance to see Atsuko or you hurt or dead just because my feelings. I have no choice but to...but to end our relationship." He sobbed.
Yusuke thought about the times his mom was hurt by past boyfriends and now, happy and energetic. Not doing alcohol or drugs anymore since she's been with the God, hell she didn't even party that much anymore. 'I can't let my mom lose that happiness. Even if she hasn't been the best mom in the world, God damn it she's mine! I can't stand to see her sad, wasted or depressed over some asshole that treat her like a whore! Koenma is the best one for her. I'm a shit head, I admit it. I'll fix this.' He thought.
"Don't worry Koenma. I'll do something to change his mind, just wait and see." Yusuke said and left the tearful God. 'I need to get the gang together. Maybe there's someway we can get through to that fat ass. If not maybe there's magic to protect mom.' Yusuke thought and headed to Botan, to get her to hail Kurama and Hiei.
"Yusuke? Is there something I can do for you?" Botan asked and he nodded. "Call plant boy and the dark one, tell them to meet me at Kuwabara's." Botan raised an eyebrow. "By plant boy and dark one I assume you mean Kurama and Hiei." Yusuke nodded. "Yes. Tell them to come immediatly." She nodded and he left, going to Earth. "Time for some pay back Yama, you fat Son of a Bitch!" He said, pounding his fist into his hand and made his way to Earth.
Yusuke wobbled getting out of the tunnel and ran to Kuwabara's house. Once there he knocked loudly and rang the doorbell at the same time. "What the hell is going on!?" Shizuru yelled, opening the door and Yusuke ran in. "Oh yeah, come right in." She said and slammed the door, going back to her room. Yusuke flew into Kuwabara's room and the red head screamed in suprise. He shut off his kitten tv program and stood up. "What's the big rush scene Urameshi!? You almost made me shit my pants!" He yelled.
"In a minute, wait until Hiei and Kurama get here." Yusuke said and Kuwabara's eyes went to annoyed slants. "Do you know what time it is? 10:30! I can't have people around here all night!" He yelled and Yusuke glared him. "This is about my mom, it's really important." He said and Kuwabara nodded. "Okay, alright." There was more ringing of the doorbell and Kuwabara answered it this time. Hiei and Kurama followed him back to his room. "So? What's with all the demanding to see us Yusuke?' Hiei asked.
"I know who my mom is with." He said. "Who?' Kuwabara asked. "Koenma, she's with Koenma." Their eyes went large and looked at each other. "Your mom is dating Koenma. The Koenma we know as Boss?" Kuwabara questioned. Yusuke nodded and the red head burst out laughing. "Shut up Kuwabara! This is serious damn it! Yama knows and he threatened Koenma that mom and me will be disposed of if he continues to see her. So now he says in order for us to be safe he has to break it up with her." Yusuke said.
"He can't do that." Kurama said. "Well he is and will probably if he doesn't get his way. I called you guys here to see if you can help me try and convince that fat bastard to leave them alone." Yusuke said. "What if it doesn't work?" Hiei asked. "Then we find a spell or something magical to use on my mom. I've never seen her so happy before, I don't want her to be miserable just because of some dickhead! So will you guys help me?"
Kuwabara nodded. "Yeah. We can't let that happen to them." He spun around in a pose. "It's true love! I am the master of love and will not stand by for this injustice!" The others looked at him with sweatdrops. "Okay anyone else not loony?" Yusuke said. "I'm in." Kurama said. "Okay. Never liked that asshole Yama anyways." Hiei said and Yusuke made a victory sign. "Okay meet me tomorrow at Spirit World around 9:00 or so. Then we'll see what we can do." Yusuke said and they agreed before going off.
