Chapter Four
Morning came as the sunlight shown through Kurama’s windows in the tree home. The bright rays came through the window and touched the sleeping bodies with its intense light. Hiei’s eyes shot open as his skin was starting to burn. He hissed loudly and jumped out of the bed, bringing the covers with him. Kurama opened his eyes and blinked a few times from the light in his eyes. He reached for the covers, but noticed that Hiei was completely covered in the corner of the room. He could hear Hiei’s fierce hissing and saw him move the sheet to show his eyes. “Good morning Hiei.” Kurama stretched and got out of bed. He knelt down in front of Hiei and kissed his small nose. Hiei pulled Kurama in for a kiss and wrapped the covers around the both of them. Kurama moved his hands over Hiei’s stomach. “Let me help you out a little.” Kurama stood up and used his fairy powers to make a curtain of vines cover the windows. Hiei stood up and dropped the sheet. He appeared behind Kurama before he could turn around. He kissed the back of Kurama’s neck and then placed the vine necklace around Kurama’s neck. Kurama touched the small vile and turned around to face Hiei. “Thank you Hiei. You could have kept it, but you returned it to me.” Kurama hugged Hiei and kissed him. Hiei held Kurama’s chin with his hand. “Why don’t you show me how thankful you are that I returned it to you.” Kurama grinned and ran through the house. “If you catch me, I’ll give you what you want!” Hiei smiled and chased after Kurama. He could heuramurama giggling as he ran around the house. “I’m gonna catch you if you don’t stop giggling.” He looked through all of the rooms and stopped at one room when he saw Kurama’s wings flitter. “I gottcha!” Hiei pounced on top of Kurama, who was sitting on the floor. He looked around the room and out into the hall. “You’ve closed off all the sunlight.” He returned his gaze back to Kurama. “Of course. I don’t want you to get hurt.” He flashed Hiei one of his cute smiles and quickly kissed Hiei’s lips. Hiei’s ears perked up as he heard footsteps. He pressed himself closer to Kurama and whispered into his ear, “Be very quiet. Someone is here.” Kurama’s eyes opened wide and he wrapped his arms around Hiei. “If they find you here, they’ll kill you. Please, you must leave.” “No, I’m not going back there until night.” Kurama blinked his long lashes. “You don’t want to spend the night again?” Hiei grinned and kissed Kurama. The fairy walking through the house came into the room that Hiei and Kurama were in. He shined his UV lamp on the two, which caused Hiei to grunt in pain and Kurama to squint his eyes. Kurama stood quickly and covered Hiei with a nearby sheet. “Stop it! You’ll kiss him!” The intruding fairy pulled out a steak and walked toward Hiei. “That’s the idea. He’s a vampire and will try to kill us in our sleep.” Kurama held Hiei in his arms. “No he won’t.” “How can you be so sure?” “Because he spent the night last night.” Kurama looked down at Hiei. “Hold on Hiei, I’ll help you.” The other fairy came closer and grabbed Kurama’s arm and pulled him away from Hiei. Another fairy grabbed Kurama around his middle, holding his arms down, and pulled him out of the tree home. Kurama struggled as best he could. He kicked his legs and wiggled his body around. “No…Hiei. Let go of me!” The fairies carried Kurama deeper into the fairy forest. Hiei groaned as the blanket was removed and the UV light shown down on him. His skin started to burn and he hissed in pain. Soon, the fairy was grabbed around the neck by a tall dark figure with long black hair and violet eyes. Karasu bit the small fairy, his violet eyes turning ice blue. He pulled back before the last drop of blood was taken. The fairy’s body was limp from lack of blood; Karasu threw the fairy to the ground. He lifted Hiei up onto his knees. Hiei had a blank expression on his face and he looked weak. “Hiei, Hiei snap out o it.” Karasu slapped Hiei across the face until Hiei lifted a hand to defend himself. Hiei stared at Karasu and then grabbed the sheet to wrap around his middle. Karasu smiled. “A little late for modesty Hiei.” He kissed Hiei, pushing his tongue into the small mouth. His tongue scrapped over the sharp fangs, piercing it and causing blood to spill into Hiei’s mouth. Hiei closed his eyes and drank the fresh blood that ran down his throat. Karasu pulled back and watched Hiei lick his sips and slowly open his eyes, revealing the deep blue color. “I want more.” Karasu stood up before Hiei had a chance to lounge at him. Hiei growled and jumped up at Karasu, but Karasu slapped him back. “You must still be hungry. How ‘bout something that will fill your thirst?” Karasu smirked as Hiei nodded. He ran outside and then came back in as quickly as he had left. He was holding a struggling fairy. The fairy’s long red hair was pulled back and his head tilted to the side. “Go ahead Hiei. You’ve wanted this fairy for so long and now he’s yours for the taking.” Hiei slowly moved forward, his mind was only thinking about the kill as he lowered his head to Kurama’s neck. As Kurama struggled to pull himself free, his jugular vein became visible to Hiei’s hungry eyes. Kurama closed his eyes. “Hiei wait. Don’t do this.” Hiei hesitated for a second, but regained his concentration when Karasu pushed Kurama closer to Hiei. Hiei’s mouth opened as he bit Kurama’s neck.
