Chapter 3: Calling All Former Spirit Detectives.

Author’s Note: Finally, the first chapter that develops the plot. There will be several
‘skips’ meaning that places will change. Example, Hiei, Botan, Kurama and Arashi, back
to Hiei. The transfer will be obvious. I just figured I’d warn you ahead of time. By the
way sorry this took so long to update is I had family over for a while. Don’t you just love
unexpected drop bys from five family members who think you have enough space for all
five of them and your boyfriend to stay over? I live in an apartment by the way. They are
still here too, just out when I’m posting this.

Thank you again Nina! You’re right, the development of characters does make it more fun
and believable. Even if one of the characters is technically a sex slave. I personally think
that even if Youko is a horny little bastard he’d still have some influence from being
Shuuichi and therefore wouldn’t rape Arashi. I love the dialogue between Kurama and
Arashi as well, it was fun to write and imagine. You’ll get to see how Hiei and Botan are
doing this chapter. Thank you for the complement. I try my hardest to think the changes
out, I sorta just started writing this on a dare and only had a basic plot. Now I have a
detailed plot and a very shocked friend.

Thanks Eniyou. The dunking of the head part would have to be my favorite part of the
story that I’ve posted to date. The reasoning behind the no shampoo is that one thousand
years have passed and nine hundred of them without Reikai. When Reikai fell it was a
colossal event, it shook the borders between earth and Makai. When demons from the
Makai came over it was at an uncontrolled pace. Some had been allowed to migrate by
Reikai before it’s fall, but Reikai wasn’t there to stop the baddies and it was too soon for
Kurama and Hiei to do anything. You’ll find out what Yuusuke was doing later since it
has to do with plot values. When the demons came over it took a while to create an equal
society. During the time many things fell. Oil rigs were destroyed making it impossible to
make fuel for cars, making transportation of goods hard. You may ask why they didn’t
just rebuild the oil rigs. That’s because demons were not letting them during the process
of creating an equal society. By the time the deals had been made no one was alive
anymore who knew how to fix the rigs. Let-a-lone make cars. You read in last chapter
what Arashi was originally trained to do. Most libraries had been wrecked and only few
people had interest in them. Therefore knowledge of how to fix things was not uncovered.
Or rather not enough to be of any good. Many things need oil and other fossil fuels to run,
then again you probably knew that. But without the means to transport the shampoo the
shampoo business went down the drain.

Well, I should be getting on to the fic. Shouldn’t I?

Chapter three: Calling All Former Spirit Detectives.

He ran at a swifter pace than normal. Something was wrong at Mukuro’s. ‘Kuso. I
shouldn’t have left. The one time I play errand boy someone attacks.’ As he ran his black
cloak flew out behind him to reveal he was wearing nothing but the bandages on his right
arm and a pair of pants. He smelled smoke in the distance and sped up. As he got closer to
Mukuro’s keep the smell of blood reached his nose.

In the remnants of Reikai Botan sat in her almost pitch black room. She looked at the
candle on the bed side table. Her thoughts immediately went to Hiei. ‘Will he find the
message I left? Will he get Youko and stop Y-’ Her thoughts were interrupted by the
sound of the door opening and the shadows of three people in the doorway. “So Botan,
what did you think of the destruction? Breath taking was it not?” A brown eyed demon
said as he entered and sat next to Botan on the bed. His black hair going to his knees and
over his bare chest. Botan cringed lightly. “Why did you do that? Why did you destroy
Mukuro and her keep?” The black haired man laughed. “Because I can! I have more
power than anyone else! I have far surpassed even an S class demon!” The man laughed
maniacally and stood up. “See you later Botan.” The demon said as he walked out and
closed the door. Botan shivered. ‘I hope that Hiei found the note, if not I don’t even want
to think about what will be destroyed next.’

Arashi growled loudly. She didn’t like being carried over Youko’s shoulder and yet there
she was. “You can put me down any time now.” she said with a feral growl. Kurama
smirked. “Can, yes. Will, no.” “Asshole.” “Yes I have one, how nice of you to notice.”
The Hanyou looked at the back of Kurama’s head since she’d never see his face unless he
looked back. “You countered me!” She half shrieked. “Indeed I did. Now calm down. I’ll
let you down after I get you some clothes.” Youko replied tartly. “Well the least you
could do is not grope me!” “Maybe so. But, I could do allot more.” he put his thumb on
the intersection between her sex and her rump in order to emphasize his point. Arashi
yelped. “That’s not fair! There’s nothing I can do to fight back!” “Exactly.” Youko
replied haughtily.

Arashi grumbled as they walked down the nearly empty market street. Remnants of cups
and other items from before the fall of Reikai littered the ground. It was almost sunset and
time for most of the shops to start closing down. Kurama walked into an abandoned
building. Arashi blinked in confusion. ‘But all the shops are outside.’ As her eyes adjusted
to the darkness she saw just how wrong she was. There were shops everywhere in the
large building. Clothing shops, food shops, even shops with nearly impossible things to
find. Youko went to a large shop in the back and waited till a plump man with black hair
walked out. “Hello old friend.” Youko said in a cold tone. Arashi resisted shivering. The
plump man’s brown eyes lit up. “How long it has been!” Youko smirked. “I’m here for
business, Okono.” Arashi leaned to the side a bit in order to see the man clearly. She
noticed that he was around six feet tall, over six inches taller than herself. she also noticed
he was wearing clothing she had only read about, jeans and a vest made of a reflective
fabric called PFC. The man looked at Arashi and laughed. “Come to sell this little one?”

Youko shook his head. “I’ve come to buy cloths for her.” Okono looked at Youko like he
was insane. “Why would you want clothes for her?” “Because, if she’s naked I’ll have to
worry about sex crazed demons attacking me so they can have her. I don’t have time for
that sort of thing.” Youko replied. “I see, follow me.” Okono went into the tent like
building with Youko in tow.

Arashi sighed, she was more than tired of being carried. Okono walked over to a wooden
bin and pulled a few things out. “Those will be fine in some cases, but I’m a demon lord
and I’m not interested in my slave wearing bikinis and short shorts around my keep.”
Youko said with a tired sound in his voice. ‘He must be exhausted after all the trouble I
gave him.’ Arashi thought as she remembered the last half of her bath. ‘Come to think of it
I’m tired too.’ She yawned lightly. This alerted Youko to many things other than clothing.
Okono continued to rummage through the bin till he pulled out two pairs of brown pants
and three white shirts that had what could have been coffee stains from hundreds of years
gone by. “Those will do.” Youko said as he put Arashi down and pulled out three
triangular gold strips. “This is more than enough, I’m in no mood to make a deal.”
Okono’s eyes lit up again at the sight of the gold. He quickly took the gold and handed
over the clothes. Kurama walked out as Okono stared at the gold in absolute bliss.

Kurama walked to a dark corner of the building and handed Arashi a black bikini top and a
dark grey bikini bottom. “Put these on first.” Arashi blinked at the way he put it and put
the clothes on. Moments later he handed her a pair of pants and a shirt. She blinked again
but asked no questions. The moment she finished he grabbed her leash and started toward
the exit. She was startled at how silent he had suddenly become. She was almost scared.

“We should get some food and then sleep.” Arashi nodded in reply. Within half an hour
they had found a place to eat and had eaten. Afterwards Arashi fell asleep leaving Youko
to carry her and find a place to rest over night.

Arashi awoke the next morning with an odd feeling coursing through her body, warmth.
She opened her eyes slowly. The first thing she saw was Youko’s face. Something deep
inside made her blush. Youko opened his eyes and looked at her. He had been awake for a
while. Arashi sat up and noticed she wasn’t wearing a collar and that she had six out of
nine fox tails wrapped around various parts of her body. ‘He kept me warm.’ She thought.
She was truly shocked. ‘Now that I have no collar and leash to stop me I could escape.’
She thought suddenly. ‘But I don’t want to for some reason...’ Youko sat up as well. “We
have company. Youko said mere seconds before a black blur sped to a stop behind
him. It was Hiei, he was shirtless, shoeless and the once bandaged right arm was bare
with the exception of the dragon tattoo that inhabited it’s length.

Youko looked at Hiei who all but stuffed a note in his face. Youko took it and blinked at
Hiei. “Well you’re talkative.” Youko commented. There was more than a hint of
Yuusuke’s sarcasm there. “Just read it Kurama.” Hiei said with a growl. Kurama looked at
Arashi and then back to the paper. He then read it aloud “Calling all former spirit
detectives.”

I am aware that I’m evil. I just have a little plot surprise I wanted to save for next time.

I am also aware I didn’t spend much time with Botan. By the way, if you are a hard-core
Botan fan then you’ll hate me later on. You’ll know it when you see it.

Signing out,
Aoi
