Scene 37 ------------------------------------------- Demon World

* Ryuji is sitting in front of a fire roasting a couple rabbits that he's caught. When Koenma steps out of the portal he looks up startled, immediately on guard with his daggers drawn. When he recognizes Koenma he relaxes.


Ryuji- What are you doing here?


* Koenma glances toward the cave entrance.

Koenma- Hiei's in there?

Ryuji- Yes. But he doesn't want to be..

Koenma- I need to talk to him.. Yomi's headed this way.


* In the cave, Hiei hears Koenma's warning. Immediately, he remembers the encounter he had with Yomi when he worked for Kichiro. Outside, Ryuji stands and scans around quickly, looking for the demon Lord with his inner jagan.


Ryuji- Oh s---.. He is coming this way..

Koenma- He's probably coming for Hiei.. We need to get him out of here..


* Ryuji turns as Hiei comes out of the cave growling.


Hiei- I'm not getting hooked up with nobody else!! D--- it!! I'm not fit to be anyone else's..!

Koenma- Hiei,..


* Hiei yanks his cloak open to expose his upper body.


Hiei- Look at these! You both know what they mean! I'm nothing more than a f---ing whore! Now, all of you just leave me the h--- alone!!


* After a moment, Ryuji nods.


Ryuji- That has stopped Yomi for the moment, Ani.

Koenma- Hiei, Kurama has explained to Yusuke..


* Hiei turns to glare up at Koenma, closing his jagan.


Hiei- Good. Tell Yusuke I said to be happy with his fox and stop waiting for me!


* Hiei starts to go back into the cave.


Koenma- But you know you will need a demon stronger than Shishi was to..


* Hiei spins to glare at the Prince again.


Hiei- Are you hard of hearing? I said I'm not..

Koenma- Would it really be so terrible to be under Kurama?

Hiei- I refuse to fight him.. He's in heat the same as I..

Koenma- Not now.


* Hiei understands the implications of the godling's words. Ryuji turns when Hiei blinks away.


Ryuji- Hiei,..!?


* When Ryuji gives chase Koenma sighs when he realizes that they're not going toward Tourin. In fact, they are heading further away. Koenma is about to go back into the portal when a large ball of energy lands and dissolves into Yomi.


Yomi- Why do you feel so compelled to stick your nose down here all the time..? What are two of Mukuro's officers doing in my territory?

Koenma- Feigning idiocy doesn't suit you, Lord Yomi.


* Yomi sniffs deeply toward the cave.


Yomi- Lord Hiei's in heat..

Koenma- He's too distraught to be hassled right now, Yomi.. His mate that he was taking care of..

Yomi- The male Banshee?

Koenma- Yes.. He's finally passed on.


* Yomi turns his face toward Koenma again as his stance relaxes.


Yomi- I can understand why Lord Hiei is upset, then.

Koenma- Just leave him alone.

Yomi- Why does it bother you so? It's not as if you care for demons..

Koenma- Most of them, no.. But there are a few that I've come to call friends.. You happen to be one of them, as well as Hiei.. I don't want to see either of you killed.

Yomi- You think I would kill that little helion?


* Koenma looks at the blind goat who is smirking with slight lust.


Koenma- I was referring to you, actually. Hiei's in no mood to be messed with right now.


* Yomi looks away twitching a couple ears.


Yomi- This conversation is pointless now.. They just left my territory.


* Koenma nods.


Koenma- Good. I'll be going back to mine then, too.


* Koenma turns to head toward the portal again.


Yomi- Tell me, Lord Koenma.. Have you ever considered getting a mate?


* Koenma almost swallows his pacifier as he comes to a stumbling halt. Yomi chuckles as the Teen turns to face him again. Koenma removes the mufuuken to speak.


Koenma- Ex-excuse me?


* Yomi shrugs with a slight chuckle.


Yomi- It's lonely at the top.. We both know that..

Koenma- Are you.. suggesting..?

Yomi- Is the offer not enticing?


* Koenma gathers himself as he studies the goat a moment.


Koenma- We're both alpha males, Lord Yomi. It would never..


* Yomi raises a hand to rub his chin.


Yomi- Hmm.. You do make a valid point.


* Now it's Koenma's turn to smirk.


Koenma- There's always Mukuro.


* Yomi scowls and turns away with a grunt.


Yomi- Me and that cold, heartless.. mechanized hybrid b----?

Koenma- She's not at all heartless.. She's still very much woman.. well, mostly.. She'd be a worthy challenge..

Yomi- Then why don't you go after her?

Koenma- Because I have enough headaches.. Besides, you're the one looking for a mate, not me.

Yomi- Hn. Keep telling yourself that, godling.


* Yomi forms his energy ball around him and takes off. The Prince takes a moment to imagine the kind of children Yomi and Mukuro would create. When he remembers how Shura was created Koenma shivers and hurries back into the portal.
