Scene 33 ------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, Back In Spirit World
* Koenma moves to Shishi's holding unit, presses the 'open' button, and enters. He stands amused a moment when he finds Shishi's spirit floating and flitting all around the spacious unit. When the Banshee notices Koenma, though, he floats down to stand on the floor again.
Shishi- I'm sorry, Sir. It just feels so good to be able to move again.
Koenma- I have no complaints, Shishi. I understand.
* Shishi floats closer to Koenma.
Shishi- How is my son taking this? The twins..? Hiei..?
Koenma- The boys are still in their class.. I haven't told them, yet.. Do you wish to see them?
* Shishi lowers his eyes in thought a long moment, then slowly shakes his head.
Shishi- No.. I've been thinking on that since I showed up in here.. I really think they may be too young to handle seeing me.. like this..
* Shishi holds a misty hand up and pokes a finger from his other hand through it.
Koenma- Shishi, they've lived up here since they were very young.. Actually, since Chiisai was born.. two years ago.
* The spirit tilts his head.
Shishi- Two years?
Koenma- Yes. That's how long you were comatose.. Hiei's taken care of you the whole time.. He didn't take your passing too well, I'm afraid.
* Shishi now faces the godling completely.
Shishi- Will he be able to tell the boys..?
* Koenma sighs.
Koenma- I'm sure he would.. if he were here..
* Shishi comes closer to Koenma and tries to grab his tunic unsuccessfully a couple times before giving up.
Shishi- What do you mean..?!
Koenma- He told me to move you on.. Then he left your room before I could get ahold of him.. We gather that he's used a Portal to go down to Demon World..
Shishi- But.. he was here.. I seen him look in that window..
* Shishi motions toward the low window.
Shishi- It was brief, though.. I figured he was sitting out there waiting for you to come and.. let him in..
Koenma- How long ago was this?
* Shishi looks blankly at Koenma a moment, then looks down at his opaque wrist.
Shishi- Gee, I seem to have lost my watch.. Time means nothing in here, ya know!
* Shishi turns and floats away with his arms crossed. KOenma can feel his concern for the koorime, though, so he doesn't comment on the brief outburst.
Shishi- So.. he took care of my body.. for two years?
Koenma- Hai.. He refused to let me.. release you.. He said you deserved more dignity than to be put down like some mongrel dog.
Shishi- And he left the boys up here?
Koenma- Yes. Yusuke and Kurama are up here to help keep an eye on them temporarily.. At least we hope it'll be temporary.
* Shishi closes his eyes.
Shishi- He must feel as I do.. Happy to be free..
Koenma- He's never once.. neglected them, Shishi.. I doubt that he'll abandon them now.. I can hold you here for awhile.. if you want to wait.
* The spirit doesn't answer for several moments, then he slowly nods. Koenma bows then turns and leaves the unit to place the 'Hold Indefinately' sign on its door. The Teen then leaves the large room to return to Hiei's apartment and wait for the boys to get out of class.
