“I don’t understand.” Said Kurama after a while his eyes slowly losing it’s usual gleam

“Twins!!!!” exclaimed Kagoma

“yeah that’s right, that’s what the doctor said.” Said Antonique in silent excitement.

Things were going much smoother now that she was a citizen. She was actually adopted in to the Nitta family and was quite happy about it. Her Niece was so cute and had just recently learned how to walk. Antonique had a lot of reasons to be happy but … somehow there was still that lingering hurt that refused to let up. She would still wake up in the middle of the night crying after dreaming about the horrid …event. Kuronue and Tai were very protective of their little sister she had gotten so close to them in such a short period of time it was as if she was really their sister. She lived in there house which was Huge.

Kagoma refused the offer to move in as well, but came to visit almost every day. Tai was great to talk to about books and literature that was controversial. Kuronue was great company because he always knew what to say to make a smile appear on her face. So when the found out the exact events of what happen there first intent was to hunt down the said vermin and … lets just say 6 ft under would not quite cut it. But as it turns out Antonique found out about the little scheme that was brewing and stopped it before it could happen. Being a Seer still had it perks…but it had it’s bad points too.

Right now Antonique had just gotten home from the doctor’s office and was telling Kagoma about the new discovery.

“Twins!!!” Exclaimed Kagoma again

“yeah… we still have to wait a bit to find out their sex.” Said Antonique distantly

Kagoma’s eyes got chibbi for a minute.

“Imagine 2 little Antonique’s running around. Aren’t you excited?” Said Kagoma gazing at Antonique with question

Just then there was a knock at the door.

Antonique opened her room door to see a girl around her age with short Dark brown/reddish hair, that comes down to her shoulders, and her bangs a little above her eyes. Pale skin, Left eye is a light green, right eye is a dark green. She immediate recognized the girl as Michiyo.

“Hey Mi!!!” said Antonique excitedly

They had just been friends for about a month now but they had gotten close real fast. You see she was the little sister of Kuronue’s dead fiancé. She hadn’t met her sister though and just found out about her after she had died. That’s how she met Kuronue and her little niece who she came to see often because somehow she felt a bond with her sister even though she was no longer alive. Her sister had run away from home at about 5 yrs old and found herself going through hard times because their parents weren’t exactly nurturing individuals. They often put Michiyo down by calling her Ugly, resulting in low self-esteem and her mother has also told her that she hates her on numerous occasions that’s why she currently lives with her grandparents not to far away from the Nitta manor.

“ hi zuys how are you? (I meant to spell guys like that because that’s the way that Michiyo pronounces her “G’s”)” asked Michiyo

“Not bad actually I’m just getting home from the doctor” said Antonique

“oh really how did it zo?” she asked after plopping herself down on the day bed in Antonique’s huge room.

“ it went well… I found out that I’m having twins” said Antonique with a half smile

“really? That sounds cool are you excited?” asked Mi again

“that’s what I was asking before you came in?” said Kagoma impatiently

“well… I don’t know. I mean I’m not, not excited I’m just…I don’t know.” Replied Antonique with a sigh

“ you shouldn’t feel bad about that Antonique I keep telling you that” said Kagoma referring to the fact that she had only told Hiei the truth and left everyone else with out so much of a good bye.

“ but, Yusuke… knowing him he’s probably pissed at me and he is after all my brother and I know that he cares a lot about me it’s just that unlike Kuronue and Tai he won’t listen to reason.” Said Antonique while sitting on her bed in a huff

“that’s exactly why you shouldn’t beat yourself up about things like that. The best thing you can do right now is try to stay positive so that you can take care of your children and yourself.” Replied Kagoma.

While Kagoma had a point it didn’t make Antonique feel any less guilty

“she’s right you know Antonique, you should try to be more positive. If your brother really cares about you like you say then you have nothing to worry about he’ll definitely understand.” Said Michiyo

Antonique nodded and smiled it was good to have friends who care so much about you.

Later that day, everyone was chatting and playing around just having a bit of fun. They had just finished eating dinner and they were talking about various topics all except Tai who was currently reading a new book that Antonique had bought for him. He was listen and would throw in his 2 cents every now and then and then go right back to reading. Before long it had gotten late and Kagoma offered to drive Michiyo home.

“Bye you guys” called Kagoma waving as she exited the manor

“bye zood night I probably see you tomorrow” said Michiyo with a smile as she followed Kagoma out of the house.

“Now that they are gone, there’s something I’ve got to tell you.” Said Kuronue seriously

“What is it?” asked Antonique with a curios gaze

“A guy came by looking for you today when you were at the doctor…Hiei I believe.” Said Kuronue looking at her in anticipation.

“Really!!” exclaimed Antonique with a huge smile

“yes… you know him then?” said Tai passively

“of course he’s like my best guy friend.” Said Antonique still sporting a huge smile

“really? Then you know how dangerous this guy is?” said Kuronue with a bit of worry in his voice

“yeah, but Hiei would never hurt me he’s my friend!” said Antonique trying to reassure her eldest brother.

“ how can you be so sure?” replied Kuronue a bit skeptical

“the same way I know that you would never hurt me.” replied Antonique smartly causing Kuronue to smile

“ok then, I had told him to come back tomorrow at noon so you’d be home and done with your school work.” Said Kuronue

“You were right; this book is kind of good so far.” Interrupted Tai

“Of course I was!” said Antonique with a fake pout.
Kuronue chuckled a bit and the 2 of them talked for a while before going to bed and leaving Tai to his new book.

In all of her false happiness the inner pain was still there as clear as day. She was as positive as she could possible be and only she knew the truth while everyone thought that she had forgotten about Kurama. The truth is she probably never would forget.

Antonique woke up early the next morning it was difficult to sleep with being so excited. She just couldn’t wait to see her best friend Hiei, it had been far to long. She brushed her black strands of hair in to a high pony tail and when straight to her online schooling. She had even managed to skip a grade. She wasn’t that smart mind you but as said before being a seer had it’s advantages. It was about 9:45 am when she had completed about 2 days worth of work and decided to take a break. She went to the bathroom, showered and got dressed, which took about a half hour. Then she went down stairs to have a bit of breakfast she couldn’t starve the babies now could she.

Antonique ate and then proceeded to check on her darling Niece who should be up and about reeking havoc in the large manor. Hikita was quite diligently watching Dora the explorer and attempting to say swipper. She was very smart for her age she was about 16 months now. She was Kuronue’s pride and joy. And everything was dada at first but now it’s dada, Tai, Niki(Antonique) , oma(kagoma) and Mi (michiyo). Kagoma would often glare at Tai because his name was the only one she could say properly. She was truly amazing because most babies her age could say as many words as her or differentiate between objects and people. “Dada!” Exclaimed Hikita her red eyes growing large with glee as Kuronue popped out in front of the television screen.

“’kita!!” exclaimed Kuronue with glee as well

Watching them made Antonique wonder how she’d be when she had her children. She smiled as Kuronue pretended to be a horse so Hikita could ride on his back.

“ look Kita, it’s Niki!” said Kuronue looking in Antonique direction as they stopped

“Niki Niki!!!” cried Hitika while she claped her hands and smiled

Which made Antonique smile too.

Michiyo came back over as promised and took over in the baby sitting of Hikita. It was a Monday and there was no school for some reason or another.
So Michiyo had volunteered to babysit today.

It was around 11 o’clock now and Antonique had just remembered that Kagoma and she were supposed to be going out at 2. Then she was reminded of her little vision. ‘this is going to be interesting’ thought Antonique as she proceeded to her desk to complete a bit more work since she planned on taking the day off tomorrow. Yesterday she had made up her mind that she would have to tell Yusuke what had happened after Kuronue had informed her of Hiei’s visit. She’d just have to deal with the consequences, it was hard enough being with out Kurama did she really have to cut everyone else off to she badly missed her misfit brother and her other friends no matter how many new friends she made she’d never forget all the warm memories she shared with them after all she still couldn’t remember a thing from before she had met them.


The hour had passed quickly as she finished her schoolwork. It would be Christmas in a couple of weeks. She sighed as she got up from the chair and looked out the window. She still worried about what she would do when her children were born. She also wondered about Kurama and how he was doing with his new girl.

Hiei swiftly made his way to her room after dealing with Kuronue again.

Hiei found her looking out the window with a forlorn expression on her face.

“Hn” said Hiei tapping her lightly on the shoulder

“Hiei!!!” Antonique Exclaimed giving the fire demon a huge hug and smiling a bit

“I take it you missed me a lot then.” Retorted Hiei cockily

“of course I did!” said Antonique with a bit of a smirk

“that’s good to know, I came here to discuss an important matter with you.” Stated Hiei his eyes softening a bit as he spoke

“oh… ok then shoot” said Antonique as she sat on the bed and motioned for him to sit beside her

“it is about the Kitsune, while I understand that you are within your means of never speaking to him again… it’s hard to explain.” Sighed Hiei opting not to sit

“oh I see” said Antonique stiffening a bit

“do you?” said Hiei

“I’m not ready to see him again yet and quite frankly I don’t know if I’ll ever be ready. But just because I don’t want to see him doesn’t mean that I should make you or yusuke or the others suffer too. I’ve decided that I want to see them even at the risk of running in to him there has to be a way.” Said Antonique on the verge of tears

“he’s gone mad” stated Hiei bluntly

“mad?” inquired Antonique

“ he barely eats, he hardly sleep and he is a reckless endangerment to himself and others” continued Hiei

Antonique was silent for a while feeling somewhat guilty and yet she still couldn’t face him. Especially after hearing all of this.

“it’s useless talking to him…I am not sure… I don’t know what to do.” Said Hiei

“I can’t…” the tears started a fresh the anguish the absolute pain whelped her heart as she clutched her chest in pain.

Hiei was silent he knew this would happen, so why did he come? He need to see her to be reassured that he was doing the right thing. Was he betraying Kurama by keeping these things from him? He couldn’t tell anymore. He needed to know why he was causing his friend all this pain.

“why does it have to hurt so much?’ she choked out after calming down a bit.

She wiped her face forcefully and looked up at Hiei.

“tell you what let think about this later ok?” Said Antonique putting on a practiced fake smile

Hiei merely nodded his head.

Days passed, weeks passed, month passed too, how many? a lot. It had been a total of 4 almost 5 long and grueling years since Antonique had left to “discover her self”

He cried for her, he was still in pain it never lessened and it almost never let up. He needed her desperately. He also knew that the others where hiding something from him. They would periodically leave with out saying where they were going they would keep him from going home sometimes too.

After she left a lot of thing changed, he was only half of what he once was. Youko… he was beyond depressed and when he was called out to fight show no mercy and spared no lives.

The phone rang…

“hello” he answered gruffly

“hello is this Mr. Minamono?” the person on the other line asked

“yes it is” replied Kurama

The conversation continued as it turns out he had just inherited a company from his boss. Now he should be happy… the key word is should. He could never be happy again… not until she came back.

It appears that he wouldn’t be staying home today.

He still lived with his mother but had recently acquired an Apartment not to far from her house. It wasn’t furnished and he wasn’t making that much money until a few months ago.

It appears his boss had been watching him for a while. He was in publishing and the company had just started about 8yrs prior to his employment. The company’s revenues seemed to have doubled when he was hired but the person above him was taking all of the credit for his work.

Kurama didn’t care, he had money and it was enough to survive, he was… it just didn’t matter. About 4 months ago his brilliance was realized, leading to a promotion and a much better salary along with benefits and office space with a secretary who decided that she should try to hit on him on a daily basis. He got another promotion 2 months later and today he is now partner no wait owner of the company? That’s surprising isn’t it? His boss was terminally ill and had place it in his will for Kuruma to take his place but it was supposed to be another year or so before he died… like they say things happen for a reason.

All this with out really even trying his best. All his accomplishment meant nothing to him really they were just something to do to keep his mind off of her.

He was a lot better than he was at first not really moping and not as reckless. But still everyone knew he was still hurting.

Antonique was now 19 with her twins. They were her pride and joy. A boy and a girl, Shuchii and Shori, they looked just like their father. Looking at them sometimes reminded her of him. She had changed a lot during the past 5 years. She had to for her children’s sake.

The little boy was loving and sweet and charming. He was extremely smart and very good at dancing. He had his father’s green eyes, his hair was cut like his fathers use to be when he was his age, the only difference was that he had his mother’s black colored hair.

The little girl was shy and quiet but loved to sing and do art she was also smart too but Shuichii surpassed her in that area. She had her father’s brilliant Red hair with her mother’s soft curls added to it. She also had her mother’s lovely grayish brown eyes. And they both had their mother’s dimples.

“wakey wakey my little angels” called Antonique from their bed room door

“we’re already up mommy” called Shori while rubbing the sleep from her eyes

“what’s for breakfast?” said Shuchii with a cute yawn

“what no good morning mommy?” said Antonique with fake hurt

“good morning mommy” said Shori and Shuchii in a sing song way

“good morning My lil Angels” replied Antonique in a sing song way too sporting a playful smile

“mmmmmm it smells like pancakes!” said Shuchii with excitement

“yay!! Pancakes” said Shori while jumping out of her bed and zooming out of the room for her beloved pancakes.

Shichii on the other had walked up to his mother giving her a hug and a kiss before speeding off after his sister.

“Hey you uses save some for Hikita!” yelled Antonique while running after them.

“Uncle Yusuke!!!” whined Shori

“Mommy, Uncle Yusuke finished all the pancakes!!!” exclaimed Shuichii with a sigh

“and here I thought he wouldn’t be up till noon, I should have know that he’d wake up early if I made breakfast” said Antonique with a sigh while shaking her head.

“Hey squirts thanks for ratting me out.” Said Yusuke with a sweat drop
“Don’t worry you guys can have uncle Yusuke’s pancakes” said Antonique

“ hey, no fair you can’t go giving away my pancakes like that.” Called Yusuke with a whine

“is to fair, you ate all of mine.” Said Shori sticking out her tongue at her uncle

Not to long after breakfast the door bell rang to reveal there beloved cousin Hikita.

“ Hikita!!!” exclaimed the twins joyful that there cousin had arrived at last

“hey, hey what about me?” said Kuronue with a fake pout

Shori giggled a bit before hugging her uncle Rone as they called him

“hey uncle Rone.” Shot Shuchii with a smile

“ so aunty where are we going today?” asked Hikita with her beautiful red eyes lit with excitement

“tsk, tsk I told you before that it’s a surprise” said Antonique

“oh come on mommy you can tell us pwease.” Said Shori pulling the puupy eye trick on her mother followed by hikita .

“stop that!!! You know I’m a sucker for those eyes!!!” cried Antonique dramatically
“ok ok you guys win I’ll tell you as soon as Aunty Kagoma and Uncle Hiei come over deal?” said Antonique with a sigh

“but we want to know now!” said Hikita with a pout

“hey work with me I said I’ll tell you when Hiei and Kagoma get her so chillax till then.” Said Antonique seriously

The kids knew that she meant business and decided not push their luck by pestering Antonique any further.

“ ok Hikita be good for your Aunty I’ll be back tomorrow to pick you up.” Said Kuronue while kneeling to give his daughter a kiss on the cheek

“I will daddy see you tomorrow.” She said with a smile

“love you kiddo” retorted Kuronue ruffling her hair a bit

“ I love you too daddy, and you be good at work to mister.” She said with a smirk remembering the time when the secretary had told her that her dad didn’t do his paper work.

“yes ma’am.” He said with a salute before leaving

“so were are you taking the squirts today?” asked Yusuke

“like I’m gonna tell you.” Said Antonique

“you are worst then me when it comes to the face!” said Antonique

“it’s not my fault they learnt to prefect the face at such a young age!” exclaimed Yusuke causing Antonique to laugh
