A Binding Promise

Hello everyone!!

I was bored....and decided to post this! hahaha ^^;;;

Thank you to those who have reviewed! I now know this story doesn't suck!! hahaha ^^;; Anyway, the story is going to get...a bit more complicated...also some answers will be revealed, as well as more questions will come up!! ^_^ This story is just full of twists and turns and full of suprises!! I hope you guys like this!!

Chapter 3: A Visit


The heist had gone off with out a hitch. Hiei waited in the clearing they had planed to meet, in the trees. It wasn’t too long when he saw Kurama enter the clearing and lean against the tree he was standing in.

“Hello Hiei.” Kurama said, without even looking up.

Hiei snorted and jumped down from the tree landing next to Kurama, who was holding the Mirror of Darkness, while Hiei was caring the Conjuring Blade.

“How is Kuwabara?” Kurama asked, giving a small glance in Hiei’s direction.

Hiei narrowed his eyes at the red head and growled.

“His well being is none of your concern, fox.” Hiei hissed.

Kurama sighed.

“It was only a question.” Kurama said.

“One that you didn’t need to ask.” Hiei growled.

“What, starting the party with out me?” Goki said, cutting the two off in the middle of their discussion.

“Hmph. Now that we’re all here, we can get down to business.” Hiei snorted before walking towards his other companion, holding out the Conjuring Blade. “With the three great dark treasures we stole from the underworld we can perpetrate some delicious nastiness here in the human world. This conjuring Blade can turn any human it cuts into a demon.” Hiei said, holding up the blade.

“You should try it out on that human slave you have.” Goki smirked.

Hiei narrowed his eyes at Goki and pointed the end of the blade at his neck. “I do not have a slave he is an asset to my other plan.” Hiei said.

Goki gulped and nodded.

“Sorry, I’m sorry Hiei.”

Hiei snorted.

“Moving on, Goki’s Rapacious Orb sucks human souls. And Kurama holds the Mirror of Darkness, which emits great power under the full moon.” Hiei said, looking at Kurama, who was oddly quiet as he stared at the item in his hand. “I can create an army of man-eating beast with this sword…” Hiei said with a grin on his lips.

“Which I’ll feed with the souls I’ll suck with the orb.” Goki said, with a grin equally evil to Hiei’s.

“Well, you guys have fun.” Kurama said.

“Huh?!” said two shocked demons, turning to Kurama.

“What does that mean? Are you bailing out on us?!” Hiei asked.

“That’s right.” Kurama said, putting the mirror away.

“Wimp. You’ve gone soft since you’ve started living among the humans.” Hiei spit out.

“Don’t think you can just walk off with a spilt of the loot. Give us that mirror.” Goki said, out stretching his hand to Kurama.

“I’ll keep it, thanks. I need it for something.” Kurama said.

“You always had a smart mouth…” Goki growled, throwing back his arm, ready to hit Kurama, who just stood there waiting for the attack. “And it’s been asking for this!!” Goki said, about to hit Kurama.

“How about this: I take all three treasures and you guys save me some trouble by taking each other out.” Came a voice behind the group.

Goki stops and turns to the entrance of the clearing. Hiei turns and narrows his eyes, recognizing the one standing in the clearing as the one who had beaten Kuwabara not too long ago, not to mention ‘kidnapping’ him.

“Didn’t think I’d find you so soon.” Yusuke said.

“How do you know about the treasures?!!” Goki asked shocked that a kid like that knew about them.

Kurama glanced at the boy.

“Who are you?!” growled Hiei narrowing his eyes.

“Get this clowns!” Yusuke said a wide grin on his face as he pointed to him self. “I’m Urameshi Yusuke, the underworld detective, and you’re under arrest!”

“Underworld detective?” Goki asked, surprised.

“Must be their new bounty hunter…!” Hiei said.

‘That explains a few things.’ Hiei thought. ‘though…’

“Strange…he emanates no power to speak of.” Hiei said.

‘How could he have beaten up Kuwabara as badly as he did…I know Kuwabara’s strength and his spirit aura is ten times stronger, even more so, then this guy’s…’ Hiei thought.

“And his defenses are pitiful. You could off this guy with one stroke.” Goki said.

“Okay…they’re not impressed…” Yusuke said with a twitching eye and a bit of a sweat drop.

‘Still, the underworld chose him for this. He’s arrogant enough…and may have hidden qualities…especially since he beat Kuwabara…’ Hiei thought before jumping into the air.

“If you ARE trouble, it’ll keep!” Hiei said before disappearing into the woods, making his way back to the hut he shared with Kuwabara.

“Whoa! He JUMPED clear outta here!” Yusuke said in awe.

‘I’d best avoid trouble myself.’ Kurama thought before turning and leaving as well.

“Hey! HOLD IT!” Yusuke shouted, about to follow Kurama, when Goki walked in front of him.

“YOU hold it. Won’t take THREE of us to deal with you.” Goki said. “They want to run off, fine, but I accept your challenge. If you want the loot, come and get it. Heh.” Goki said.

“You’ve got nerve, but don’t expect that to help you.” Yusuke said his hands in his pockets as sweat comes down the side of his face.

‘Yikes…this guy’s built like a tank!’ Yusuke thought before the fight for his life had begun.

Kuwabara felt a familiar aura not too far from the hut, though he knew it wasn’t Hiei, though he could feel Hiei’s coming towards him fast.

‘I hope nothing’s wrong…’ Kuwabara thought.

Soon Hiei came into the hut, still holding the Conjuring Blade. He looked back when he felt a huge amount of power being used, recognizing it as Goki’s.

‘Hn, that kid’s done for.’ Hiei thought, before turning to Kuwabara who looked at him a bit worried.

“Hiei, is everything alright?” Kuwabara asked.

“It’s none of your concern.” Hiei snorted before walking past an angry Kuwabara.

Kuwabara growled but took a few breathes to calm him self down. He had learned to keep his temper under control especially with Hiei.

“Fine, if you say so.” Kuwabara said before yawning.

Hiei stopped and turned to Kuwabara.

‘His injuries are healed up, but they still took a while…I might have to face the detective again if Goki doesn’t finish him…’ Hiei thought.

“Kuwabara…” Hiei said, turning away and not looking at Kuwabara.

Kuwabara’s eyes widened.

‘He…did he just say my name?’ Kuwabara thought stunned.

“That IS your name, isn’t it?” Hiei asked a bit annoyed.

Kuwabara snapped out of his stunned state.

“Y-yes…I just…you never called me by my name before…” Kuwabara said.

‘Something’s wrong…’ Kuwabara thought.

“I found it unimportant to use your name.” Hiei said, making Kuwabara sigh.

‘…or he’s just trying to be a pain in my ass…’ thought Kuwabara.

“Until now. Kuwabara, I want you to go home.” Hiei said.

Kuwabara looked at him in shock.

“Excuse me?” Kuwabara asked.

“I want you to go home, for now. I’m going to be away longer then I thought. You’re a sitting duck here for any of my enemies, and even though you are expendable, I can’t afford to waste my time looking for another psychic who can help me find my sister. So…so I want you to go home to your family, though it will only be a little while.” Hiei said. “I will get you when this is all over and then we can go back to finding my sister. Until then…”

Hiei turned to Kuwabara.

“You are free.”

Kuwabara blinked at Hiei, in shock.

“Hiei…” Kuwabara started before Hiei growled.

“Go before I change my mind.” Hiei snorted, turning around.

Kuwabara opened his mouth to say something but closed it. He nodded his head and turned around.

“I will wait for you Master Hiei.” Kuwabara said, before walking out of the hut and to where he had remembered his home used to be.

Hiei sighed and closed his eyes.

‘You might have to wait forever if I don’t make it.’ Hiei thought before leaving the hut to look for a lower life demon to control and find out about the new Underworld Detective named Urameshi Yusuke.

~~~A Few Days Later~~~~

Kuwabara was surprised that his parents didn’t move after the three years. They had told him that they had hope that he would come back to them, that the demon that had kidnapped him would either be beaten or that they would set him free. Kuwabara didn’t have the heart to tell them that it was temporary visit and that he had made a promise to that demon that he would help him find his lost twin sister.

Kuwabara was also surprised that they had left his room exactly the same as when he was taken, nothing having been touched, though it was cleaner then he remembered it.

His parents already were talking about plans to enroll him back into school, hoping that the three years of being away wouldn’t effect what grade he would be enrolled in.

Kuwabara sighed as he lay in his bed. A soft meow caused him to look at his chest where a kitten sat. He smiled at the little guy his parents had bought not too long ago, only a few months.

“Hey Eikichi.” Kuwabara said, picking up the cute calico kitten and looking at him.

It was amazing how fast the cat had accepted him, and how easily Kuwabara had found himself in love with the little fur ball.

‘This is all too weird…’ Kuwabara thought, hugging the kitten, though not too tight to hurt the little thing, which snuggled into Kuwabara’s chest. ‘…is this really happening? Was that all a dream? Was Hiei just a dream?’ Kuwabara thought, his hand going up to touch the collar that was still on his neck.

Kuwabara sighed. He knew Hiei was still alive; the collar would have fallen off if he wasn’t, or that’s what Hiei had told him after that day he was captured. Kuwabara closed his eyes. He could remember the day he was captured by Hiei as if it was yesterday and not three years ago.

Hahahaha! Sorry to leave it like that! ^^;; Now you guys were expecting a flash back right? Well...I'm not sure if I will have it in the next chapter hehehehe...I'm still deciding that hahaha ^^;; Well, I hope you guys like it so far! This story has a way to go, so please read and review!
