A New Kind of Demon Slayer

Chapter 2: The old gang

It has been six months since the return of Yusuke Urameshi, the one who has defeated the Saint Beasts, the one who defeated the Toguro’s and won the Dark Tournaments, the one that defeated Sensui and discovered that he was the Mazuko, and well a lot of stuff has happened to this one man. And now a retired spirit detective and now living the life with his soon-to-be wife, Keiko.

And now here he is, running so hard, he might lose a lung. He was running late to see an old time friend of his and now, well what do you expected, the guy is always late. They were suppose to meet at the café down about two miles from his apartment. Yes, he finally moved out of his mother's apartment and now, he and Keiko have their own apartment and both work at the noodle shop that Keiko parents own, and it’s been booming.

In the café

Kuwabara just sits there in the booth waiting for his friend, knowing that he was going to be late. ‘Man, when is Urameshi going to be here, I should of known he would be late.’ Signing, Kuwabara just looks out of the window and just day dream of the one he loves. Not realizing that he was talking out loud, “Oh my sweet Yukina, how I miss you so." Sighing. "I wish I was here with you my lovely flower.” Sighing again.

“Oh and you don’t miss me at all, I feel hurt.” Said a voice.

Kuwabara jumps a little and looks to the side. “Gezz, Urameshi you could of given me a heart attack.” After making a serious face he smiles at his old friend.

“Yeah well sorry I’m late, lost track of time.” said a grinning Yusuke.

Yusuke sits across Kuwabara, “So how it hanging”

“Not that much, you.”

“Nothing much either except Keiko is still planning away for the wedding.”

“When did you say the wedding was again?”

“Oh, not until next year probably, both of us want to take our time a little bit.”

The waitress comes along takes their order for their drinks and walks away. A few minutes later, the waitress comes and gives them their drinks. “So, how is grandma doing these days.” asked Yusuke sipping is coffee.

Kuwabara thinks it over. “Well, she seems doing fine now, though she has been acting weird for the past few days the last I visited.” He says drinking his coffee down a little too fast and burns his tongue in the process. “Ow Ow Owww Owwww.”

“Next time don’t drink so fast, baka.” Says Yusuke, shaking his head thinking that his friend can be an idiot at time, but not always. “So what do you mean that she’s been acting weird, how weird.” Yusuke suddenly asks.

Cooling his mouth with cold water Kuwa says, “I’m not sure, she’s just been serious all of a sudden.”

“Doesn’t she always.” mumbles Yusuke.

“No you idiot it's not like that. It’s just.......it’s like she know what going on around here you know. She’s been acting like that for," pausing to think." three, maybe four passed few days now...........I’m starting to worry Urameshi.” Says a worried Kuwabara. His been trying to know what’s wrong with Genkai all of a sudden. Even Yukina is worried about the old master. Genkai said it was nothing, but both Yukina and Kuwabara could tell that there was something in the old woman mind.

“Tell you what, how about we go to the old hags temple and see if we can find out what’s wrong, ok.” Says Yusuke, trying to calm his friend down.

“Yeah well, down expect to talk to her what’s wrong, believe me, both me and Yukina tried but Genkai says it’s nothing.”

They pay the check and walk out of the café, both still in thought. ‘I wonder why Genkai has been acting weird of how Kuwabara describes it.’ thought Yusuke walking along side his friend. Then all of a sudden, when they reached the park, there were sirens and police cars all over the place. Both of them came to the park until they reached the yellow tape surrounding the area. They over heard what the police are saying.

“God damn it, now we got another one.” said one cop.

“That happens to been the twentieth one, how is this possible, and in only four days.” says the second one.

“Yeah, and what is with these two puncher wounds anyway, it’s like the victim blood was drained dry, it doesn’t make sense.” says the first cop.

While listening to the two cops, both of the boys gets tapped on the shoulder. Jumpy, they turned around to see another old friend of there. “Gezz, what is with you people and giving me a heart attack.” says Kuwabara a little too jumpy if you ask me. The man just smiles. “Sorry Kuwabara, I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“I was not scared.” Kuwabara yells at the man.

“So Kurama, do you have any idea what’s going on around here?” Yusuke changing the subject.

The smile disappearing into a calculated look. “I don’t know Yusuke, all I know is that a girl got attack and killed last night and the killer drained her blood in the process.” says Kurama. He can still smell the blood lingering in the crime scene. So right now Kurama knows as much as Yusuke and Kuwabara knows.

“Do you think that maybe a demon did this?” asked Kuwabara.

“Well, it doesn’t smell like a human did this, but I’m not sure if a demon did this either” says the red head.

“Do you think toddler knows anything about this?” Yusuke was curious to see if Koenma knew anything about this.

“I believe Koenma does know about this, the question is, does he know what the cause of it is.” says Kurama, being very serious at this point.

“Well maybe we can pay him a visit, what do you think.” smirking Yusuke.

“I believe you have a point in there Yusuke” says Kurama, thinking that what kind of new remarks that Yusuke going to give Koenma now.

“Sorry Kuwabara, but I think we have to postpone that trip to Genkai for a day or two, if this gets serious.” says Yusuke looking at Kuwabara. Kuwabara nods, and understands that this is important. Still, he really would like to know what was wrong with Genkai.
