TWO WEEKS LATER

Yusuke knocked on Kurama’s bedroom door, tapping his foot as he waited impatiently for the door to open. He wouldn’t know what to do if the Kitsune wasn’t there; he was the only one that could help him. The door was flung open, revealing a confused looking red head with emerald green eyes.

"Yusuke, have you been feeling light headed again?" Asked a worried Kurama.

"No." Said Yusuke.

"Are you sure?" Kurama questioned, eyeing the Dark haired teen, almost as if he was interrogating him.

/I wish I could say that I have been trying not to kill anyone or rape them/. Yusuke thought, forrowing his brow and chewing on his bottom lip.

"Forgot about the link between us?" Kurama chuckled, and leaned against the door frame elegantly.

Yusuke paled, and his chocolate orbs dilated. A frown crossed his lips as he stared in to forest green eyes. He had forgotten about that special connection between the two of them. He had not wanted Kurama to know about those… indecent thoughts.

"From that particular thought, I believe your situation hasn’t gotten any better?” Yusuke nodded, still focused intently on the kitsune before him. “Because you have been having these ‘indecent’ thoughts you so eloquently put it." Yusuke flinched as Kurama hissed the word indecent. The red head only moved to the side allowing Yusuke access to his pristine room, wrapping a delicate hand around the teens waist as he entered.

Yusuke could feel his ears burn with heat, as all of his attention was focused at the hand at his waist. Kurama guided them to the bed, where the two sat down… rather closely.

All he could think about was Kurama, his hand, how it would feel wonderful if that pale hand ran up and down his- Yusuke cut it off there. He didn’t want Kurama to know of his crush on him, and with the mind link…well…. It could be a problem.

Kurama noticed the difference in Yusuke and knew at once what he had to do. Releasing his hold around Yusuke’s waist, Kurama picked up the phone and began to dial.

His curiosity piqued, Yusuke asked what he was doing.

"We need to get Keiko over here fast?" Kurama spoke quickly, wondering why Yusuke began to immediately fidget at the mention of the young woman’s name. “You’re going to need her help.”

"There is a slight problem with that?" Said Yusuke. Kurama stopped punching numbers and glanced over at Yusuke as though expecting him to clarify his statement. Yusuke just continued to look at the ground and twiddle his fingers uncomfortably.

"Because." Yusuke whispered, too ashamed to look at his friend. Kurama put down the phone and sat back down beside his friend, looking him directly in the eye.

"I need to know more then that to help you.” Kurama spoke calmly, as if asking a child to tell them who had bullied them at school.

"Well…" Yusuke said, still attempting to avoid eye contact.

"Well, what?" Kurama asked.

"It’s Keiko…. Well, I kinda told her that I was a demon and she flipped out." The dark haired teen hurriedly continued. “She thought I was joking at first, but when she realized I was being serious she told me she never wanted to see me again.”

"Okay, that could be a big problem. However I believe that this… problem, can be worked around. Do you trust anyone else to the point that you wish to mate with Yusuke, because you are going to need a mate soon." At this, Kurama took a hold of Yusuke’s chin, forcing the younger man to look directly in to his eyes. Hoping that the seriousness of the situation would sink in.

"No, there are no other girls that like me that much." Yusuke pointed out. Sad that Keiko had abandoned him over such a trivial matter as being a demon.

/I wish that I could tell Kurama how a feel about him/ Yusuke thought, then immediately through it out of his mind. Kurama could hear his thoughts.

Almost too embarrassingly, Yusuke looked up into the emerald eyes of the man he liked. Expecting to see hatred, and disgust glowing in the red heads eyes.

“Is there something you would like to tell me?” Kurama asked his face calm and impassive. Yusuke gulped, afraid of how Kurama would react to his love filled confession.

“Umm…well it’s a really long story.” Yusuke started to say. Kurama, however was not swayed by this, and just eyed the younger man expecting him to continue. /Great now I could loose friend number two. / Yusuke thought to himself, taking care not to project his thoughts toward Kurama.

“How can I say this…Um... well I-I-I…. liked you ever since I met you.” Yusuke closed his eyes as he said it. Bracing him for when Kurama turned him into plant food. “I mean, when I first met you. I just couldn’t get over how beautiful you looked, but what really struck me you’re your eyes. So sad, and lonely, almost begging me to be with you. I just couldn’t see how someone as beautiful as you would seem so sad. So when Botan was arguing with me about why I shouldn’t trust you I told her that you didn’t give me the impression that you were evil. I wanted to see why you wanted me to wait before I could decide what should be done. So when I learned you had been planning to kill yourself to save your mother, I couldn’t let you go through with it. I just couldn’t stand back and watch you die. And the same was for every fight I’ve seen you do. The fight you had with Karasu is the worst one that comes to mind. I just keep seeing you lying on the ground as lifeless as the plant you called forth that slowly drains away all of Karasu’s blood from his body. It took all my will power to not run into the ring, and pound him for all that he was doing and saying to you. I guess what I’m trying to say is that …I love you.”

Yusuke didn’t look up, not wanting to see how Kurama was reacting. Yusuke flinched noticeably when a gently hand gripped his chin and tilted it upwards. Brown, met green, then a pair of rose-peddle soft lips met Yusuke’s in a light and gentle kiss. Yusuke’s eyes widened, and Kurama pulled back to once again look directly in to Yusuke’s eyes. In to his soul. In to his heart.

“I love you too, Yusuke.” Kurama spoke, his voice dipping in to a husky, seductive tone. “I can’t really say when it started. But I have been fascinated by you since the day I saw you. The way you stepped forward and announced yourself to Hiei, Gouki, and Me. Gouki and Hiei may not have been able to sense your Spirit Energy at that time, but I knew the Spirit World is really selective about who they appoint. Someone else probably would have let us kill one another before making any attempts for the artifacts. When I approached you that night, I trusted you to hear me out. I never thought you would go as far as you did that night. But it’s thanks to you my mother and I are both alive. I knew then that you were someone I could trust with my life and that somehow evolved into love. I would have told you sooner but Keiko had your heart first… so I thought it best not to interfere.”
