Book 5 - Chapter 9
Chapter 9
It took an hour for Kaida and Amaya to even find a trace of he Toris headquarters. They had almost missed it, but Kaida and Kurama had seen the illusion the second time they had looked.
A large illusion of a rock pile hid the entrance from anyone who was not trained to see light illusion. The entrance was in a cave, small and very unassuming in the side of the mountain. It was just big enough for all of them to walk through, though Kaida had to bend over for her wings to get through.
“You know this is insane right?”
Botan had been insisting this over and over for the last hour; not at all happy she had actually gone along with it.
“Botan…” Amaya turned to the ferry woman and smiled. “You could go back and let the three of us handle it. We won’t cry if you leave.”
The ferry girl shook her head. “No way. One of us needs to be the sensible one. It might as well be me.”
Amaya smiled even bigger at the girl, her contempt for her at that moment flowing into her voice. “Then, would you be a dear and SHUT THE FUCK UP?
Botan stood there speechless as the other three kept walking, all three preparing for a fight. She watched as Kurama disappeared in a puff of smoke and took his form of Yoko Kurama, using only the illusion of the King of Bandits, shaking his shoulders and stretching. Amaya followed suit, her bow around her shoulders, sword in hand. Botan blinked at the ground, watching water run in small rivulets toward the water demon, as the air demon shook out her feathers, rising slightly off the ground as she tested the air in the cavern.
‘They are really going to go through with this.’ She ran after them; holding out her hand, oar materializing as she ran. “Hey! Wait for me.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
They stood behind a large rock, watching the entrance of the fortress-headquarters of the Tori Hiburakku.
Kurama looked at the door, then the smaller demon beside him. The walls they faced looked made of heavy granite, the doors of iron. There were a few guards around, and while it was dark within the large cave, the light from the building helped their view. “What is your next move Amaya? Strength or Stealth?”
She looked forward and stared at the door, her mind obviously working up a plan. She turned to the fox demon, pointing to the underground river that flowed through the cavern, cutting its silent path through the farthest side. “Think they could use a drink?” She walked down the path they were on, obviously concentrating. Kurama looked down to Kaida and Botan who shrugged as they followed, wondering what the other demon had up her sleeve.
She approached the gate, smiling at the two guards. They stared at her, confused at her presence and she stood there, one hand on her hip, the other holding the sword over her shoulder.
“Hello boys. Would anyone care for a drink?”
They drew their swords and came at her, running head long into a wall of water that flowed straight from the river. They sputtered as it washed over them and then rushed behind the water demon, swirling around her, almost protectively.
“Hmm. So you didn’t want a drink. How about a bath?” She slammed them again, this time the water picking them up and slamming them down on the ground, the sickening crunch of bones breaking heard over the rush of water.
“Did that hurt? I’m so sorry. I’ll have to do better. You need to feel more than just pain.” She held her hand up, the water taking them in as it slammed them against the doors, the force of it making the iron bend enough for her liking.
“That’s what I’m talking about! BOTAN!” She turned her head to the blue-haired woman. “Fly in there and see if you can find them!”
Botan nodded, taking to her oar and flying through the slightly open gates as Amaya continued to pound the doors with water. Suddenly, the doors opened wide, allowing them to walk through the opening. She stopped, bending over where she stood, letting the water recede enough they could go through.
Kaida saw Amaya lean over, holding her side. “Saikoubi, are you alright?” The air demon leaned down, checking on the other demon. She nodded.
“Yeah. I’m fine. Let’s go.”
She stood and strode forward, her gait obviously pained. Kaida made an attempt at getting into Amaya’s brain but couldn’t. She had blocked her out of her mind but the winged one knew labor pains when she saw them.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Hiei heard the water rushing through the building, the sound familiar to him from spending so much time with Amaya.
“Hn… They’re here.”
The cat demon turned to him, sitting on the opposite wall. “Huh?” She stood up and tried to see out the window, but couldn’t.
Hiei watched the wall, smirking to himself. “You might want to stay over by the other wall. She’s already gonna be pissed off when she finds me. You don’t want her to take it out on you.”
She sat down and waited, the sound of moving water getting louder as she sat, wondering what was going on.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Yusuke approached his prey, stalking the girl in the kimono. What was left of it. He had tried to rip it from her body minutes ago, shortly after he had shifted into his demon form, his markings moving with the movement of his muscles, shifting with every twitch and spasm as he strode forward.
“Come here girl, let me show you what ol’ Koenma doesn’t let his girls have.”
She screamed, praying and begging he would come to his senses. They had held him down and injected him with the strange blue liquid a short time ago, but it had proven to be potent, turning the normally goofy Yusuke into a raging sex maniac, bend on taking the first thing with two legs he saw.
That happened to be Yomena, the little ferry girl who had been put with him. She had kicked him away once, injuring her arm in the process as he attempted to claw at her, trying to draw her near.
“Come on little one. I wont bite you that hard.”
He pounced and pinned her, grinding into her body as he caught her, sniffing the air.
“Now, where were we?” He growled as he grabbed her breasts, causing her to scream as the door creaked open.
“What the…” He turned to see his friend Botan behind him, oar in hand as she swung and hit him squarely in the temple, causing him to fall away from the frightened girl.
“Yusuke Urameshi! What in the world is wrong with you?!”
He looked up, seeing Amaya, Kaida and Kurama in the doorway, Botan standing over him; oar ready to strike again. He turned to the girl, springing over to get her as Botan hit him again, this time in the back of the head.
“Stop it Yusuke! What the hell has gotten into you?”
He turned and looked at the ferry woman he knew so well. “Mine, I want her. She is mine!”
He turned to get up, causing Botan to hit him again, even harder. He bellowed in pain at the shot, this one drawing blood.
Botan called to him; oar ready to hit him again. “Get hold of yourself.”
Yomena screamed, her voice directed at Botan. “They gave him something and he went crazy!”
The man turned battle demon moved to get up again as Kurama spoke, his voice loud but calm and even. “Yusuke, What would Keiko say. She is due to have that baby any day now.”
Yusuke looked up, looking around dazed. “Keiko. What? What is… where? What have I done…? Keiko?” His eyes turned to the girl in the corner, face returning to the normal calm it usually held. “I…I’m sorry. I didn’t…I couldn’t.”
Kaida turned and looked out the door, her face grim. “We need to get out of here. Now is a good time to go.”
Yusuke stood, holding his head. “Take these collars off us first.”
Amaya nodded. “Kaida, you stay with Kurama and get them out of those, Botan, follow me.”
Botan blinked, looking to her friend. “What about Yomena?”
Amaya didn’t turn back but yelled over her shoulder at the girl. “Stay with her then. I have to find Hiei!”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The sound of the rushing water had stopped and Hiei had started to become restless. He had heard the screaming outside, the voices of the trainers going silent after a wave had hit the door, but after that, nothing. The cat demon watched him, sure she needed to stay put as she was told.
He looked up; his cocky smirk evident on his face.
“Get in the corner. Now.”
She scurried over to the corner as the door flew forward, the floor of the room drenched as the female demon walked through. She looked around, seeing the cat demon first then turning to see Hiei, still sitting on the floor by the bed.
“Took you long enough.”
“Bite me Jaganshi. It’s not easy to launch a rescue mission with an air demon, a fox, and a ferry girl while you’re pregnant. Cut me a little slack, OK Smart ass?” She looked at the cat demon and scowled. “You didn’t take her did you, because I will rip off your dick off if you did.”
He scowled. “Woman. What are you talking about?”
She turned, watching out the door. “I’ll tell you later. Did ya screw her, yes or no?”
“No.”
“Good, you can keep your dick then. Here.” He walked forward, letting her remove the collar from his neck, the rub marks evident on his shoulder. “Come here cat.” The little demon did as she was told, standing still as Amaya removed her collar, dropping it on the ground.
“What is your name kid?”
“Uh…Kai.”
She smiled, trying to reassure the cat girl as she looked back out. “Kai, stay as close to Hiei and I as you can. Don’t get too far away and do as we tell you.” She turned to her husband and smiled, taking his hand.
“Want some weaponry, handsome?” He smiled, feeling up her back and pulling out her sword. “Just for you hot stuff.”
Hiei smirked, holding the sword in his right hand. “It’ll do. Come on.”
She smiled, nodding. “I love you, but why do I keep you. Sometimes you are just so talkative.”
They looked out, Hiei putting his hand around Amaya’s back, bound and determined to get out of that accused place without incident. He heard the cat demon walk behind them as they followed the path Amaya had followed to get to him.
They were almost to the main entrance when they heard the crack of the whip and a curse from behind them. Hiei turned to see Ashihito behind them, a glowing spirit sword in his hand.
“Number 242, you think you can get out, let’s see you try.”
