Scene 26 ------------------------------------------- Koenma's Jail
* Hiei and Koenma arrive at Ryuji's cell to find him relaxing on the cot. Pehjo is curled up with his head on the fire demon's lap as Ryuji half-conciously strokes him. Hiei feels the warmth emanating from his brother and smirks.
Hiei- Hn.. Well, since he's so comfortable here..
* Ryuji looks up and quickly dislodges Pehjo as he stands to blur to the bars.
Ryuji- Hiei, you're alright!?
Hiei- Hn.. I see you found a new pet.
Ryuji- Lizards enjoy heat.
* Pehjo mumbles as he sits up rubbing his head.
Pehjo- (Mumbling) 'M a Skink.. d--- it.. Oww...
Hiei- Yeah, whatever.
Koenma- The lizard helped rescued you, Hiei.. I used the energy on this bracelet to zero in on Garuyun's location.
Ryuji- I hope you killed that b------.
Koenma- Yes.. He wasn't very cooperative with my SDF troopers. They're not well-known for their patience.
Hiei- Okay. Now that I know Ryu's safe I can..
* When Hiei starts to turn to leave Ryuji growls.
Ryuji- Excuse me? Could you just let me out of here now?
Pehjo- Uhh. Us?
* Ryuji half glances toward Pehjo.
Ryuji- Do so before I fry that skink again.
Hiei- Prince Almighty, here, thinks you put the hit on.. that human..
* Ryuji crosses his arms with an annoyed scowl.
Ryuji- And you know that I most certainly did no such thing.. We were there because Mukuro was warned about Kurai being hired to catch Yukina..
Koenma- Hiei says that you told him the blast came from somewhere else.
* Ryuji's scowl changes to a glare as he looks down at his shorter brother.
Ryuji- Yes.. It startled all of us.. But then Yukina took off and we had to give chase.. I figure that Garuyun had someone following Kurai.
* Ryuji looks back up at Koenma.
Ryuji- Is Yukina okay, too?
* Koenma nods. Hiei looks up at the godling.
Hiei- Are you satisfied now?
Koenma- Yes. I'm marking the case closed.. No charges will be pressed against Ryuji.
Hiei- Hn.. Then you can release him into my custody now.
Pehjo- Umm.. Hello?
Hiei- And his little lizard pet, too.
* Ryuji glares at Hiei again as Koenma unlocks the cell door. Hiei glares back up at Ryuji.
Hiei- No, you don't have permission to keep him!
* Hiei turns to leave. Ryuji hurries through the door after him.
Ryuji- Hey, Hiei..?
Pehjo- Wait for me!
* Pehjo slinks past Koenma then chases after the two arguing brothers. Koenma sighs, shifts back into his Toddler form, anf floats out of the prison block wondering when he lost full control of his own palace.
