Scene 25
Thanks to all of my many reviewers throughout this sequel. I’m sorry this last scene of this sequel is coming to you so late in the day, but I’ve been sick most of the morning. The next sequel will be the last complete one, appropriately titled “Ending”. I’ll start it probably in a couple days, barring any further health or computer issues.

Scene 25 --------------- Demon World
* When Hiei leads Staci through the portal he stops to look around his livingroom. Nearly his whole pack is there to welcome Staci home. He steps aside to watch Sarista and Lily reach the blonde first and embrace her. Soon Staci is surrounded by the others of his original pack while Tachimaru, Eboni, and Loreen hang back some to watch and sniff toward her. Hiei notices a movement and looks toward the kitchen doorway. Sylk is leaning there trying her best to remain aloof of the celebration. He looks back at Sarista when she approaches him.
Sarista- Thank you, Darling. We’re a complete family again.
Hiei- Hn.. For now.. Get her a room. She needs to rest. The baby is taxing her Human body greatly.
Sarista- She’ll be delivering very soon.
* Hiei nods, shielding his thoughts from her. But his sadness, as he glances back toward her, isn’t so easily hid.
Hiei- Keep an eye on her.. Make sure she’s kept comfortable.
* Sarista tilts her head as she looks back toward Staci who is now being introduced to the ones she doesn’t know.
Sarista- Hiei, what..?
Hiei- I’m tired, ‘Ris.. I need to eat and rest up myself because I’ll need to get back to overseeing my d--- position tomorrow.
* Sarista nods and goes back to the others. Hiei realizes that he is, indeed, very hungry since he’s not eaten well in the past few days. He turns away from the happy scene to head into the kitchen. Sylk steps aside to let him pass.
Sylk- I could care less that you’ve brought that Human back here, you know.
Hiei- Harm her and you won’t have a heart left to care about anything.
* Sylk ‘hmphs’ and crosses her arms.
Sylk- I only came to let you know that those Lynx brothers left to bring their village back.
Hiei- Hn. Very well.
* Hiei moves on toward the refrigerator.
Hiei- Message delivered. You can go now.
* When Sylk blurs to head him off Hiei stops and quirks an eyebrow. He watches her open the refrigerator and take out a covered plate of food.
Sylk- You can’t eat this cold.
Hiei- Maybe I was going to..
Sylk- It’s beneath your station. Now go sit down.
* The Koorime watches her move to the oven, her tail swaying gently behind her. He starts to reach out toward it, then sighs and moves to the table. He’s too emotionally drained to start anything he can’t finish right now. He moves to sit at the table.
Hiei- So, you have a lot of natural speed, and you can cook too..? I still have a lot to explore about you, Cat.
* Sylk half glances back toward him with a purring growl.
Hiei- If you stay tonight I might not be much company, though.
Sylk- Oh, h--- no. You need your rest. You’re about to go into hibernation any second.
* Hiei grunts his acknowledgment. He rubs his temples as Sylk brings the warmed plate of food over.
Sylk- You better eat quickly or you’ll fall asleep facedown in my venison.
* He reaches out to grasp her arm as she attempts to leave. Sylk cautiously tenses, but allows him to make her bend back down beside him. He looks deep into her mesmerizing yellow cat eyes.
Hiei- Seriously,.. thank you.
* Sylk relaxes completely and lets him kiss her deeply.
Sylk(Quietly)- You don’t have to thank me.. Just enjoy the time you’re given and no regrets will cripple you like this again.
* Hiei releases her, grunts sarcastically, then begins to eat. Her tail caresses his spiky locks as she turns and leaves. He devours the food as he listens to his pack hurry Staci out to get her settled in. The jaganshi then blurs to his bedroom, scowls at the large, western-style bed, then shrugs and crawls up onto it. As he snuggles under the dark red, velvety blanket he uses his jagan to rid his mind of all the disturbing thoughts still lingering and plaguing his mind so he can truly rest.
