Hiei's Harem: Pt. 7 - Consequences

Scene 25 ------------ Spirit World


* George is relaxing in a chair beside Kurama's bed when the redhead wakes up from the sedation. When Kurama looks around and scents the blue ogre he reaches out and grabs his arm startling him.


George- Ahh!! Oh, hey.. You're awake.


* George notices that the warding kanjis are gone from Kurama's arms.


George- Wow, he did it.. Your wards are gone.

Kurama- Where are my..?


* Kurama pauses a moment to relish the feeling of freedom that he's becoming aware of. He jerks upright touching his chest. All of the wards are gone except for something that he can't quite put his finger on, nor find the words to express. He sniffs toward Shishi who is laying on the bed beside his. All of his heightened demon senses have returned except his sight. He easily realizes that the blue-haired demon is still out cold, but he can also feel that the restrictions are gone from him, also. Kurama looks back toward George.


Kurama- Who did what? Are they all free of the markings?

George- Koenma went down to..

Kurama- What?! Alone?!

George- Of course not. He took a couple SDF squads with him.. He went down to give that creep his own deal.

Koenma- But I-I'm still.. blind..

George- Well, now that you're unwarded maybe you'll be okay in a couple hours.

Kurama- Tell me, are they all still sleeping?


* George glances around toward the other two beds in the medical room.


George- Yep. They'll probably be around soon, though.. But I can see that their marks are all gone, too.


* Kurama lowers his eyes and forces himself to relax.


Kurama- So what was Matsua's deal?

George- It's not..

Kurama- Don't make me hurt you.

Georgre- Well, he told Koenma that he'd release all of you if Lord Koenma agreed to.. go down and.. uhhmm.. do some breedings..

Kurama- Koenma can't do that!

George- I don't think he had any intentions of doing anything like that. He did take all those SDF guys down with him.


* Kurama feels the bed shift. In the next instant he identifies the demon that's now in his lap as Shishi.


Shishi- Oh, Kurama! They're gone! The wards are gone from all of us!


* Kurama raises his arms to embrace Shishi then quickly moves a hand down to his mate's belly. George looks toward Touya and Suzuka when they come to the foot of the bed. Then they all look toward Koenma when he comes over.


Koenma- Are you all okay?


* Kurama raises his unfocused eyes toward the Teen Prince.


Kurama- Tell me that you did not cave in to that demon's demands.


* Koenma jackslaps George.


Koenma- Of course not.. He's the one who caved. I told him to release you all or the SDF would level his complex to ashes and I would send him to the hottest level of H---.


* Touya and Suzuka chuckle. Koenma waves a hand in front of Kurama's still-blank eyes. He frowns when he gets no reaction. Touya and Suzuka quiet then look at each other.


Koenma- Why don't you all return to your suite now? I'll check on you in the morning.

Kurama- I would like to return to our home.

Koenma- Not yet.

Kurama- Genkai's then.

Koenma- I'm not letting you leave here until your eyesight returns. Knowing you, you'll head back to Demon World to search for Yusuke..


* Kurama turns his face toward Koenma.


Kurama- He wasn't there?

Koenma- Matsua said he sold him because he wasn't.. co-operating.. He allowed me to scan the complex. There was no sign of Yusuke there, nor does that idiot keep any records of his sales.. Quite frankly, I preferred to get the h--- out of that place.. His calmness was creeping me out.


* Kurama hides his face in Shishi's hair, deeply inhaling the scent that he missed so much over these past few harrowing days. It serves to soothe him some. Koenma touches his shoulder, ignoring the pulse of demon energy that Kurama is feeding into Shishi.


Koenma- Don't worry. We'll find Yusuke. Go on, guys, take him back to your suite. Make sure he stays there and relaxes.


* Koenma removes his hand, shaking it. Touya nods with a smirk.


Touya- As soon as he's done feeding the baby.


* Koenma nods and motions George to follow him out. When they are well out of the room and down the hall George grabs the Prince's arm.


George- Please, sir, don't lie to me.. You really didn't..


* Koenma glares back at the ogre, yanking his arm loose.


Koenma- What kind of a man do you take me for, George?!

George- Uh, well, to be perfectly honest, sir.. In that.. department I really don't know.

Koenma- Perhaps I prefer to keep it that way. Nevertheless, everything I said in there was the truth. I played hardball and Matsua folded as soon as he seen the SDF surrounding his complex.

George- But he'd already sold Yusuke.


* Koenma sighs and nods.


Koenma- That region of Demon World is one of the more feral areas that's still left.. The demons there care very little about how civil the rest of Demon World is becoming.

George- So what are you saying?

Koenma- I'm saying that we have to find Yusuke.

George- Maybe Hiei could..


* Koenma adamantly shakes his head.


Koenma- Hiei is no longer in our service, George.. I checked in on his surveillance before I went down there.. It seems that he might be drifting back toward what he used to be.

George- What he..? You mean he's becoming a threat to us again?!


* Koenma glances over George's shoulder when the three demons help Kurama out of the medical room. The redhead pauses to half glance toward Koenma.


Kurama- If you know where Hiei is.. Please let him know that Yusuke is in trouble.


* Koenma lowers his eyes.


Touya- How about you just concentrate on yourself for a while, Ku?

Shishi- Right.


* As they continue taking Kurama down the hall in the opposite direction Koenma rubs his forehead.


George- Your headache is back again?

Koenma- What else?

George- I'll go get your pills, sir.


* George takes off. Koenma sighs and continues down the hall straight ahead toward the elevator that will take him back up to his office.
