Hiei's Harem - PT. 17 - Breaking

Okay, this is going to be a pretty long scene, but I hope you won’t be bored with it.

Scene 24 ------------- Human World


* Hiei keeps his presence well-shielded as he approaches Genkai’s shrine. When he leaves the forest he notices Staci relaxing on a blanket near the back porch. When he realizes that she’s meditating and hasn’t noticed him he moves to a large rock to sit on it and continue watching her. After a few moments Yukina comes out of the shrine to check on Staci.


Yukina- Staci, supper is ready.

Staci- I’m meditating.

Yukina- You must eat today. Please.

Staci- Please, just leave me alone, Yukina.


* Having seen and heard enough Hiei drops his shield. Yukina gasps and turns to look toward the rock where he’s sitting.


Yukina- Hiei,..


* Yukina starts toward him then turns when the shoji door slams open. Kuwabara runs to the steps of the porch and looks around angrily.


Kuwabara- I feel him! Where is the little..!?


* Kuwabara spots Hiei and comes down the stairs. Yukina hurries to intercept him.


Kuwabara- Get outta my d--- way, Yukina! I’m gonna shove his little head up his f---in’ a--!


* Hiei quirks an eyebrow and blinks over closer to them all. Staci just looks up at Hiei, not sure what to do.


Hiei- Think you can do that, Fool?

Yukina- Kazuma, please.. I don’t want him to kill you.. Please.


* Hiei hears his sister’s pleading and sighs. Kuwabara continues to try to get at him. But when Hiei flares out his full energy the grasping hands freeze, then begin to tremble, then slowly drop. The force of Hiei’s full aura gets the desired effect as Kuwabara backs away with a new look of fear that Hiei’s never before seen on the burly redhead. Yukina half glances toward Hiei then maneuvers Kuwabara back toward the porch more easily.


Hiei- Take him inside and keep him there or I won’t make apologies for defending myself.


* Yukina just gives a curt nod. Hiei can tell that his energy is affecting her as well.


Kuwabara- My god he c-can.. destroy us all..!

Yukina- He won’t as long as you stop provoking him, Kazuma.

Kuwabara- But.. Will he hurt Staci?


* This is the last thing Hiei hears from them as Yukina pushes the trembling human back inside and slides the door shut. He turns to look down at Staci, half expecting her to be cowering also. But he’s surprised to find her looking as if she’s actually basking in his aura. Then he realizes what’s happening when he feels his energy being drawn into her. He concentrates a couple moments on the voracious hunger of his unborn son until Staci finally speaks.


Staci- You didn’t answer Kazuma’s last question.


* Hiei takes a deep breath and goes over closer to her. When she opens her deep blue, moist eyes to look up at him Hiei clenches his fists to keep from snatching her up into his arms.


Staci- Hiei,.. I’m just so.. confused.. I-I know that we’re.. only just friends, but..


* As calmly as she can, Staci starts to get to her feet. When she stumbles a bit Hiei instinctually reaches out to brace her up so she won’t fall. He realizes the mistake of his contact too late as the next thing he knows he has her lips captured completely. Staci gives no protest and parts them to accept his kiss with a desperation that matches his own. Hiei closes his eyes, moans, and momentarily gives himself over to his desires. Luckily, his instincts remain intact to prevent him from pressing his very-pregnant mate any further. When he draws back Staci blinks up at him, fighting her tears.


Staci- I’m.. so sorry, Hiei.. I know I didn’t want any.. attachments.. But I’ve missed you.. s-so much..


* Hiei looks away, considers walling himself off again, then slowly realizes that he can’t leave her to face her uncertain future alone. She is his mate as much as the others are, regardless of her species.


Staci- Please forgive me.. I had no idea this would happen.. Please don’t leave me again.


* Her pleading reaches deep into his being in a manner that he can’t resist at this proximity. He knows this is why he was determined to keep his distance from her.


Staci- I know you don’t feel the same about me.. Yukina keeps telling me that it’s j-just the pregnancy..


* Hiei closes his eyes and draws her closer to him gently in a tighter embrace.


Hiei- Staci,..

Staci- But why did you mark me if you had no desire to-to keep me?


* Hiei sighs quietly and raises a hand to push his bandana up off of his jagan.


Hiei- Staci,.. I want you to stay calm.. and look up.


* She obeys and gasps when she sees his wide open jagan.


Hiei- Do you trust me?


* Staci swallows, then nods and relaxes in his arms.


Hiei- Focus on my third eye, Whitey.


* Staci concentrates on the purple third eye. Hiei closes his true eyes and re-opens all of her memories. As they return with a gentle ebbing flow Staci’s grasp tightens around him. When the task is complete Hiei closes his jagan and turns his head to brush his mark with a light kiss. To show her complete, renewed acceptance of him Staci tilts her head to give him full access. The action alone makes the apparition’s fangs react. As he sinks them into her neck gently to reaffirm their bond he feels the immediate connection swirl around them, surging from inside her as well, and embraces her more firmly.


(#) Hiei- You are.. mine.

Staci- Forever.. For as long as you want me.


* Hiei pulls back to look into her eyes again. She swallows a sob.


Hiei- I.. can’t leave you.

Staci- Why should you have to? Please, just explain it to me, Master.


* Hiei pulls his bandana back down, then moves the hand to brush away her fresh tears. He then takes her up onto the porch to sit her on the swing. With the bond refreshed he can feel every ache and pain she’s experiencing because of his developing son.


(#) Baby- Ninhan!


* The name echoes quite loudly through Hiei’s mind and he mentally smirks at his unborn son’s strength and boldness a moment.


(#) Hiei- Alright. You quiet now and let me deal with your Mother.


* He feels the baby settle with a final grunt. Hiei raises his eyes to meet Staci’s again. He catches her starting to relax.


Hiei- This child we’ve created is the strongest one I’ve felt, yet.

Staci- You’ll.. get to meet him.. soon.

Hiei- I just did.. He just told me that his name is Ninhan.


* Staci touches her belly affectionately.


Staci- He’s proud to be your son.. As much as I’m pleased to be your mate, Hiei.


* Hiei moves back to lean against the porch railing.


Hiei- I’m a demon, Staci.


* Staci mockingly widens her eyes.


Staci- No..


* She raises her hands to her cheeks.


Staci- Oh the horror! Why didn’t you tell me this sooner?!


* Hiei’s temple throbs as he rolls his eyes and crosses his arms.


Hiei- You want my truth, I’m going to give it to you. Now be quiet and listen, Woman.


* Staci lowers her hands back into her lap and gives him her most serious expression of attention.


Hiei- I’m now one of the three Supreme Lords of Demon World.. This position will require that I do some.. very cruel.. heinous things should I need to assert my authority.. Things that most.. Humans would find sickening and.. revolting.. You just seen what my full aura reduced that redheaded bafoon to in a matter of seconds.. I never wanted to expose you to the ugliness that I can.. That I am capable of doing.. I realized that the first time I seen how you reacted to my new power in the ravine..

Staci- More sickening than watching a son eat his own Father after defeating him? More revolting than watching Gamock abuse and molest his own children and callously sell others?


* Hiei lowers his eyes.


Hiei- I may have to.. do the same to my own.. someday.. not the selling, but..


* Staci swallows. Hiei reads her confused thoughts and answers them.


Hiei- I had to mark River and Gamaru’s surviving son. Remember? - If Yusuke and Kurama’s children decide to stay under me I.. I’ll have to.. claim them.. They could end up bearing my children themselves someday.


* Staci lowers her eyes to sort all this information out a few moments. Hiei gives her ample time to do so.


Staci- I’ve seen a lot of cruel things there.. I’ve survived being raped, beaten,.. molested for days on end.. Seeing the same things and worse done to others.. I spent every day thinking it was going to be my last..

Hiei- I know everything you’ve been through. I share your memories through our bond.. I wanted to spare you from witnessing any of it coming from me.. You think I’m good and honest and honorable, but I can be every bit a monster as all those others.. Do you truly want to return to such a..?

Staci- You’re here.


* She raises her eyes to look at him again but he keeps his gaze averted from hers.


Staci- You could’ve stayed away. Why did you come back if you’re not honorable? Or if you didn’t care?


* Hiei remains silent, not truly knowing how to express his feelings or his instincts to her. Staci stands and moves up closer to him.


Staci- Whatever you think you are.. However much of a.. monster you’re convinced that you are, you’ve done something that no other demon I’ve ever known has done.


* He hesitantly meets her eyes to see the sincerity he feels from her words.


Staci- You’ve won my heart.. From what I recall, that’s not something that us Humans give away too easily. Especially not to demons as powerful as you’ve become.

Hiei- You’ve gone mad, Woman.. You should have been cowering away from me like that redheaded fool.. Instead, I find you.. basking in it.

Staci- Do it again.

Hiei- What?

Staci- Show me your full power.


* Hiei pushes her back some.


Hiei- Staci,..

Staci- Do it. I have something to prove to you.


* Hiei scowls a moment, then raises his aura back up to its full power gradually. Watching her with each increase. When he finally reaches his maximum level the very structure they’re near begins to shudder. They both hear Kuwabara yell fearfully inside. Staci glances around at the creaking old shrine then looks back up at Hiei unmoved.


Staci- I’m not running. Satisfied?

Hiei- But.. How..?

Staci- Lower it before you rip this old building apart.


* Hiei closes his eyes and drops his energy back down to normal.


Staci- When I was staying with Yusuke he helped me get past that foolish fear.. He’s a bit stronger than you, I’m afraid.


* Hiei remains too stupified to comment to her statement.


Staci- Like I said. I’m not running.. If anyone runs from this, it’ll be you.


* Now Hiei growls.


Hiei- I don’t run from anything!

Staci- Then take me back with you.

Hiei- Do you have any idea how Demon World will treat our son?!

Staci- Do you think he’ll be treated any differently here?

Hiei- Humans don’t eat other Humans here.. normally.

Staci- Oh. So you don’t think you’re strong enough to protect us? Is that..?

Hiei- Girl, you’re provoking me!

Staci- I have to. It seems to be the only way you'll open up! - Way back when I first met that ruler guy, Koenma, I could have chosen to return here.

Hiei- Hn. You should have.

Staci- I refused to leave you. As long as I bear this mark there’s only one way that you’re going to be rid of me completely!


* Hiei surprises her when he growls and raises his hand to clamp it over the mark. She quickly grasps his wrist.


Staci- Hiei,..!

(#) Ninhan- No!


* The sound of his unborn child’s pleading scream freezes Hiei out of his anger. When he realizes what he was about to do he swallows and slowly withdraws his hand down to settle onto her shoulder. In this moment he understands, better than ever, the bond a parent shares with its offspring. Staci lowers her eyes to hide the first show of fear she’s shown since he returned.


Hiei- Staci, I.. I can’t.. kill him.. I’m.. sorry.


* He turns and moves away from her some. For several moments there is only silence between them. Finally Staci breaks it, but she keeps her face bowed.


Staci- If it’s your wish.. that I remain here, Master.. I will honor it.


* Hiei hears and feels the unavoidable sadness in her words and looks toward her again. It tightens his chest once more to realize that he’s reduced her bravery back down to this level. He recalls how Chevaux exhibited her own bravery in facing what she thought would be her inevitable end to continue carrying her twins. He recalls in a flash all the turmoil his bad decision nearly caused with that situation. Hiei moves back to Staci quietly and pulls her into another embrace.


Hiei- You are either.. the bravest Human I’ve ever known.. or the stupidest.. But to be that you’d have to be held by me in lower regard than that redheaded fool.


* Staci’s lips twitch into a smirk as she looks up at him.


Staci- Would that be the one hiding inside.. or the other one I met a couple days ago?


* Hiei looks down at her.


Hiei- You met Kurama?

Staci- Yes. He’s very handsome. I was actually almost smitten with him.


* Hiei catches her mirth and rolls his eyes.


Hiei- Wench.


* He lowers his mouth to capture hers again. With a bit of a struggle he pulls back from her this time.


Hiei- Go in and tell them that I’m taking you home so my sister won’t worry and the fool can breathe again.

Staci- Come in with me.

Hiei- No. I detest the stench of fear coming off that big oaf. I can smell it clean out here.. I’ll wait by the rock over there.


* Staci nods and goes back inside. In a few minutes Hiei looks up from where he’s leaning against the rock when the shoji door slides open again. Staci gives Yukina a last hug then moves down to face him. He straightens up to his full height and looks over her shoulder toward the porch. Yukina waves.


Yukina- Please come to visit us again, brother.. Maybe after the baby’s born.


* Hiei hears Kuwabara’s signature ‘eep’ from inside and smirks, but gives no other response. He turns his eyes back to Staci’s and pulls her closer to kiss her as he takes her knapsack.


Hiei- Let’s go. I left the portal open.. We have a lot more to discuss, Girlie.

Staci- I’m ready.. I bet the others never even missed me.


* Hiei grunts and leads her back into the forest. When Kuwabara feels Hiei’s aura disappear he sneaks out to stand behind Yukina. After he looks around to make sure the jaganshi is really gone Yukina allows him to hurry her back inside the shrine.
