Scene 23
Scene 23 ------------- The Ravine
* Hiei wakes up with a moan, in a position that he's becoming very familiar with. He rolls off of Staci, lays on his back to stare at the mid-morning sky, and goes over what he can recall from the previous night. At first he only recalls the unbelievable pleasure he felt so he begins to sift through his hazy mind to remember which of his mates gave him such release. When he finally remembers who was beneath him he jerks upright to stare down at Staci. The human girl is still asleep, but he can see the various bruises that litters her exposed body in certain places. A stab of panic goes through him and he looks toward the others who are at the table rock eating breakfast.
Hiei- Sarista!
* The Alpha Female starts, then looks toward them.
Hiei- Get over here!
* Staci stirs as his yell wakes her. Sarista goes over. When Staci becomes more aware she moans at the aching soreness of her body. She opens her eyes when Sarista kneels beside her.
Hiei- I was too d--- rough! I've broken her.. Fix her, d--- it!
* Sarista half glances up at Hiei then looks at Staci.
Sarista- How do you feel?
Staci- Uhhnn.. Like I'm.. dying.
* Sarista catches Staci's smirk, but Hiei doesn't as he begins to move away cursing himself.
Sarista- Does it feel like anything's broken? He did get a bit.. excited last night.
* Sarista helps her to sit up. Staci looks toward Hiei as he glares down at her. She lowers her eyes.
Staci- No.. I'm just.. sore.. all over.
Sarista- Okay. I'll take care of your pain.. Just relax.
Hiei- Why the h--- did you provoke me like that?! D--- it, I could've killed you!
* When he sees that she begins to tremble at his harsh tone he reaches down to make her look up at him.
Hiei- I broke my promise to you.. I promised you that I would never hurt you..
Staci- I.. I.. Everything j-just.. I needed..
Sarista (Quietly)- Shh, Little One.. He's just concerned about you.
* Hiei growls and starts to leave.
Staci- Master,..
Hiei- It won't happen again!
* On the way he comes across Troiyoku who is sitting with his back leaned against a tree.
Hiei- Go eat.
* Troi glances up, then stands. Hiei wrinkles his nose.
Hiei- Better yet, go clean yourself first.
* Troiyoku freezes, then slowly looks down at him.
Troiyoku- Please forgive me.. The energy that came off of you last night was..
Hiei- Is Silis okay?
Troiyoku- He says he is.
Hiei- Then stop beating yourself up over it.. Go clean up and eat like I told you.
* Troiyoku bows and hurries off toward the waterfall. Hiei continues away to once more isolate himself. Staci feels Sarista's healing warmth begin to surge through her body.
Staci- I displeased him.
Sarista- He's not angry at you.
Staci- He didn't want to touch me. Is it because I'm a Human?
Sarista- I don't think that's the issue he's brooding over.
* Staci looks up at her. Sarista dries the girl's moist eyes.
Sarista- He is right, though.. He could have seriously hurt you last night.
Staci- I've survived worse encounters.
* Sarista strokes Staci's mussed hair into some semblance of order then stands.
Sarista- Can you stand to come eat?
* Sarista helps the young girl up, then guides her over to the table with the others. The black Fox slips away into the trees. It doesn't take her long to find Hiei perched on a stump. He raises his eyes to meet hers when he hears her voice in his head.
(#) Lily- Why shun her? - It's very possible that she's..
(#) Hiei- I don't even want to think about that possibility.
* Hiei looks away toward the pack that he can see through the thin trees.
(#) Lily- You can't change what's been done.
(#) Hiei- Why did she have to come to me? I felt her nervousness.. I knew she wasn't ready, but I.. I couldn't control myself.
(#) Lily- She has been feeling left out.. She only wished to please you.
(#) Hiei- It almost cost her her life.. How could I have been so.. feral?
* Hiei growls at himself.
(#) Lily- All we can do now is wait and see if you caught her.. I've heard that humans in season can be nearly irresistable to stronger demons.
Hiei- Lily,..
(#) Lily- You must be prepared for the situation if it arises.
Hiei- It won't! It shouldn't have happened to.. any of you..

* Hiei feels the twinge of guilt prick his consciousness and he half glances toward the Kitsune.
Hiei- Never mind me. I expended a lot of energy last night.
* Lily bows her vulpine head then turns and trots back toward the others. Hiei closes his eyes and drops his face into one of his hands. 'Why should I even care what I did to that human..? She's mine. I had every right to..' Hiei growls silencing himself, then blurs away to go patrol the canyon.
