Alternate

Kurama and I were now bloody, bruised and tired and I was pissed. Our old friend apparently didn't want to be brought in a lot more than we had thought.
We walked into Koenma's office and handed over our prisoner right before Kurama collapsed. He'd lost a lot of blood and I was beginning to feel a little dizzy myself.
As for our prisoner, well Kurama and I were at least still moving on our own.
"Botan!" Koenma yelled in that high-pitched, whiny-assed squeak of his.
"Yes?" Botan appeared out of nowhere, and I continued to wonder who the hell was punishing me. (I mean I'm a yokai, how'd you expect me to act? Therefore I was continuously wondering who sent Botan and her perpetual cheeriness to punish me…Wasn't working for the pipsqueak bad enough?)
"Botan, take that demon down to the prison section to await trial and send some medics up here to look after these two."
Botan nodded and ran off.
"I don't need a medic. I'll be fine in a few hours." I told Koenma and turned to leave. As I stood up, everything went black.

I woke up with bright light streaming in on my face. Someone was sitting next to me. Out of the corner of my eye all I could see was a mass of bright red hair on whoever it was.
They were holding my hand and sounded like they were quietly crying.
I had no clue who it was though I wished that it was Kurama.
"Kurama…" I whispered. I tried sitting up but was held down by Kurama hovering over me having moved from his seat.
"Shh…don't talk. Everything will be just fine."
He had some bandages on his face and his eyes were a little red. He obviously had been crying.
I stared into his bright green eyes and he did the one thing that I wanted him to do most.
He leaned forward and kissed me. I was shocked at first but then I let the feeling settle in and I kissed back, loving every moment of the feeling.
His lips pressed against mine with their sweet taste. The tears falling from his cheeks and landing on mine. All of it was perfect. If only it were real…

I woke up and saw Kurama lying in a bed next to mine. He had bandages all over. I knew the kiss had been a dream the moment it happened but I still remembered what it felt like.
The honey taste from his lips…it had been so good that I wanted to get up and do it for real this time.
I stood up, being careful not to move to quickly because I was still a little dizzy, and walked over to his bedside.
Leaning down close to his ear I whispered, "Kurama, there's something I need to tell you." I knew he wasn't awake.
"I love you." It was the first time I had said it out loud.
Kurama stirred a little and his eyes opened.
He looked up at me and whispered back, "I love you too."
Shock took over and I stared for a minute. This was no dream…this was real. I leaned over and kissed him, his lips tasting even better than I thought they would. Almost like sunshine and honey mixed together, if that makes any sense.
I felt only a little pressure from Kurama, but I knew that was all he could do seeing as he was so weak right now.
As I pulled away I felt water on my cheeks. I put a hand to my face and found that I was crying. It was something I hadn't done since I was very small…I was surprised I even still could.
I walked back to my bed and laid down, letting sleep and the dream that was now reality take over.
