Hiei's Harem - Pt. 16 - Attaining

Scene 2 --------------- Kumataro’s Suite


* Hiei looks around when they enter the large apartment-like suite. It looks as if a natural disaster had struck it.


Hiei- Hn.. Busy, h---.. It looks like they fought a d--- war in here.


* Habataro raises a hand to hide his amused smirk. It’s not necessary, though, because Hiei is distracted by the moaning, shifting mound of ‘debris’ on the couch.


Coutaro(Mumbled)- Wha’ the’.. h---..? Where’d ya.. go,.. Habbie?


* Hiei looks over his shoulder toward the elder Lynx. Habataro clears his throat.


Habataro- It was.. too late to find our own room.. So we all.. crashed here.


* Habataro hurries over to help Coutaro free himself from the furs and cushions.


Hiei- Hn. Crashed is a good choice of words.


* He looks to the side when Dagon comes out of a side room.


Dagon- What’s all the commo-..?


* The Koorime growls at the sight of the shamelessly naked Crow demon.


Hiei- I’m totally thrilled that all of you are getting along so well.. But I have a trip to make. I’m going to go check on my mates once more.. Dagon, if you and these cats are going with me be down at the same door we came in last night within the hour.


* Without waiting to hear anything else from them Hiei turns and leaves. He follows his senses down the long, wide hallway. It doesn’t surprise him much that these black marble walls are devoid of much except for the ocassional painting of unknown battles. ‘This guy obviously loved violence’. When Hiei comes to a cross-section of hallways he notices a couple of unknown, bat-like females coming toward him. They recognize his description from Pterayu and quickly bow to each side, making way for him.


Hiei- Pterayu’s clan?

Demoness- Hai, Master Hiei. I’m Cerosa. This is my daughter Beryl.

Hiei- I’m looking for my mates. Be on your way.

Cerosa- They’ve taken rooms all up and down this hall.

Hiei- Hn.


* The demonesses bow once more and take off. Hiei forgets them and opens his jagan behind his bandana. He checks most of the rooms to find his mates settled and either still asleep or in various stages of caring for their young. When he locates Sarista’s room and learns that she’s awake and nursing one of their sons he heads that way. Along the way he notices that Sylk is also awake in one of the suites, but he continues on into Sarista’s. He has no qualms about showing himself into Sarista’s bedroom. When he enters Sarista looks up with a soft smile. She’d obviously felt him coming.


Sarista- Welcome, Darling.

Hiei- Hn.. Where’s Hisari?

Sarista- He’s hiding under the bed.. They’re not comfortable here, yet.


* Hiei looks down at the tiny, spike-haired head that peers out at him from under the modern-type bed.


Hisari- Papa!


* In a blur, Hiei finds the boy clamped to his neck. He rolls his eyes as he raises his arms to embrace the boy.


Hiei- Hisari,..

Hisari- We go home! Now!


* Hiei moves to sit down on the bed beside Sarista chuckling.


Hiei- This is going to be your home from now on, boy.


* Hisari looks up at him inquisitively. Sarhi leaves Sarista and crawls up Hiei’s arm to perch on his shoulder.


Sarhi- It’s too big, Daddy.

Hisari- See? Sar don’t like it, too.

Hiei- But you’ll all be safer here.. It’s my job to see to your safety, not your comfort, brats.


* He feels both boys wilt at his harsh words. The Koorime suddenly realizes how inexperienced he is with handling children.


Sarista- Boys,.. go find your toys and play. Your Papa and I need to talk now.


* The twins glance toward her then blink to the other side of the moderate-sized bedroom. Hiei watches them play with a round rubbery mass of greenery. Yet another creation of Lily’s, no doubt. The Kitsune does her share of doting on the rest of the children in the pack to make up for the lack of her own. The Koorime remains distracted by memories of his own childhood until Sarista touches his warded right arm.


Sarista- That’s all in the past, Hiei.


* He half glances at her.


Sarista- Your children will hopefully never know such atrocities.

Hiei- Not as long as I’m alive.


* Hiei stands away from the bed, closing himself off from her.


Hiei- I have to leave again.. I have no way of knowing how long I’ll be gone.


* He looks back toward his young sons.


Hiei- I’m the atrocity they’ll not be very familiar with.

Sarista- Hiei,..

Hiei- But it seems that my destiny is in everyone else’s hands but my own.


* Sarista stands and moves to face him.


Sarista- We knew all of this before you even left to face Matsua.


* He raises his eyes to meet hers.


Hiei- Are you back up to full power now?

Sarista- All of us have recovered well.

Hiei- Hn. I’m confident that all of you can keep this place in order.


* He starts to leave, but Sarista places a hand on his chest. The light touch stops him in his tracks and he looks at her again.


Sarista- This place.. will be as you leave it.. Same as it always was when you returned to the ravine.

Hiei- Hn.. But they..


* He looks back at the boys.


Hiei- They’re all growing so fast.

Sarista- None of your children will forget you, Hiei.. You’ve imprinted yourself on them well enough to assure that.


* Hiei lowers his eyes until she lifts his face again.


Sarista- Go do what you must.

Hiei- Mukuro once told me why neither she nor.. Yomi ever took a mate..

Sarista- We’re not the same weaklings you found in that ravine so many months ago.. Thanks to you.


* In spite of her instincts that dictate she keep her energy subdued beneath his, Sarista follows her feelings instead. When she flares out her full power the twins forget their rubber plant ball and stand to look toward their Mother. Hiei’s eyes widen even further when he feels the two smaller energies meeting hers.


Hiei- D---.


* Sarista smiles proudly.


Sarista- They’re going to make you proud, Hiei.


* Hiei nods and looks at her again.


Hiei- I’ll return as soon as I can.. I’m going to handle their training personally.

Sarista- Perhaps someday you’ll be confident enough in all of us to bring Staci home.


* Hiei doesn’t answer, but accepts her kiss when she leans to embrace him.


Sarista- We’ll miss you, but we all understand that you have to go.

Hiei- Hn.


* He works away from her reluctantly. Sarista relaxes her energy and the boys follow suit.


Hiei- I’m going to go get this s--- over with now.


* He half glances toward the boys when they snicker, then shakes his head and moves toward the door.


Hiei- Enjoy your youth while you can, boys.. I’ll start your training when I return.. Do your best to protect your Mother and the others while I’m gone.


* They answer him with twin ‘Hns’ that make him grunt. Sarista follows him out to the main door of her apartment.


Hiei- They are truly my heirs.


* This thought brings another child to mind and he turns to face Sarista again.


Hiei- Where’s River?

Sarista- She insisted on finding a room of her own. You know how independent she’s becoming.


* Hiei nods, gives Sarista a final kiss, then leaves. Out in the hall he pauses to look up at Sylk who is waiting outside her room now. Her tailtip twitches nervously, undermining the calm demeanor she tries to portray. Hiei senses what she’s about to say.


Hiei- No.


* He turns to head toward the main staircase.


Sylk- You either give me permission to come or I follow you.


* Hiei continues on his way. She falls into pace behind him.


Hiei- D---, you’re stubborn.

Sylk- You encourage this among your other mates, do you not?

Hiei- I could pull my dominance on you.. or them.. at anytime I choose.


* Hiei continues down the stairs. Since she feels no trace of the authority he’s referred to, Sylk continues following him.


Sylk- It would be in the best interest of all your lower females that I go with you.


* Now Hiei pulls up and turns to glare up at her.


Sylk- I know you’ve already warned the Kitsune..

Hiei- If you harm any of.. your sisters.. I will forget my honor and make you fully understand what I’m capable of.. Do you understand me?

Sylk- Your warning is unnecessary.. I’m coming with you.


* Hiei rolls his eyes and continues on down the stairs.


Hiei- I won’t allow my Alpha Female to go, why should I..?

Sylk- Because I’m not your highest ranked female. My strength will show them that your others aren’t to be underestimated.


* Hiei quietly considers her words as they continue on down the stairs. When they reach the entryway they find Dagon and the Lynxs waiting by the main door. Hiei turns to look back up at Sylk.


Hiei- You have babies to bond with.

Sylk- They’ve already imprinted on the Kitsune enough that my absence won’t be that traumatic on them.


* She sways her tail confidently as she moves past him toward the door.


Sylk- Now, you can waste more time arguing the point.. Or we can get going.


* Hiei looks up at Habataro as Sylk pushes through the heavy door easily.


Habataro- Panther demons are warriors by nature.

Hiei- Hn.. And extremely stubborn.


* He scowls then glances up the staircase to send Sarista the news of this new development. All he receives in reply is an echo of laughter. The Koorime turns and blurs out the opened door, leaving Dagon and the Lynxs to catch up when they realize he’s gone.
